I can't wait for noon today. I'm starting my weekend early as me and a few of my guy friends are finally going to go out for a night on the town. At least thas is what we began planning about two weeks ago.

This is the first time I have taken a 1/2 day in a very long time, especially with plans to hang out with the boys. Work has been very frustrating as of late with all the typical red tape, budget constraints, and a manager who seems disinterested at times and very indecisive at others. These past two weeks feel like they've been going on for over a month, and its been a major crawl in tolerance to watch the clock tick by hour after hour.

So anyway, there is supposed to be at least 5 of us to go out this evening as it was originally planned, but as of last night we may be down at least 1 (due to unexpected work commitment) and another will be late due to an unforseen family emergency.

No matter, I have plans with one of my buddies to show up at my house at 4pm. We're gonna have a drink or two, relax, and take in hopefully what turns out to be a great Friday evening and stretch out the last bit of summer warm evenings that we can (even though it officially ended a few weeks back).

Saturday I'll have the day to myself to do aa few chores in the morning and even attempt some Christmas shopping as well, and then I'm supposed to go to one of my favorite restaraunts again with a friend of mine for dinner. Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in relaxation about the house as well.

I look forward to the fact of having a lot of opportunities to flirt over the next few days. Not sure if those will actually lead anywhere, but I'm feeling slightly out of practice in that arena, but also confident in my 'game'. Not sure why, but I've been feeling a little cocky as of late, and my friends always give me that extra boost as well.

Finally Sunday, April will be back in town and invited me to dinner with some of her friends. April has been out of town the last few weeks on business, and I have this feeling it's a polite booty call. She called me up for a booty call before she left, and it was pretty nice. We've switched up tactics a bit. While April and I generally fall into this somewhat unsaid choreography of me getting a little head, then me going down on her, and then culminating into traditional missionary or doggy (which I've complained has been pretty 'vanilla' for my tastes), April has finally been a tad bit more suggestive as of late.

Imagine my surprise when last time we hooked up, she actually mentioned she'd like to go 'toy' shopping. Okay...sounds goods. I've hinted at that before and she's nodded approval, but we've never done it. Now it's her suggestion.

Also the last time we hooked up, she was all into the fingering and mutual masturbation with me. She would lay on my bed, legs apart, and ask me to finger her. As I would stimulate her thsi way for a bit, she finally work up enough courage to grab me on the side and work her hands on my own shaft until it was hard enough where she guide me in. I even managed to get her on top of me last time so I could enjoy the site of looking up and watching her bounce and grind on my own pelvis. So the nice thing is it has been slightly more intense the last few times, but hasn't bordered on adventursome yet. Maybe Sunday after dinner, I can coax her into a different position or room. I may even drop the hint she should pick me up and go commando.

That drives me wild.

A while back, I was dating someone who invited me to a large corporate party for her company that would last many hours. There were all these company big wigs and ballyhoo, and when we walked in the main door to the reception hall, she whispered to me she wasn't wearing any panties and was already wet. You can imagine how tense I was all evening long as all I could imagine was getting a hotel room or back to her place after the night. If memory serves me, we didn't made it back to my house before I sampled my present. On the drive home, I drove with my left hand on the steering wheel while my right hand was exploring her moist folds. I stole glances of her while trying to keep my eye on the road and watched her rub herself to the first orgasm of that evening in mere minutes as I sped. I think the most erotic thing that evening was afterwards watching her slowly lick her fingers afterwards, tasting herself, as she explained what she was going to do to me once we arrived at my place.

That's a whole story in itself.

The loonie is still on a losing streak — it's down 1.85 cents on fears that Canada will be swept away in possible global recession, and is at its lowest level since April 2007.

The Canadian dollar traded at 87.06 cents US at noon Thursday, from Wednesday's noon fixing of 88.90.

Earlier Thursday, the currency had fallen 2.18 cents before rebounding.

The Canadian dollar was as high as 96.73 during the last week in September. In April 2007, it tumbled to 87.11.

In recent days, however, traders have started to believe that Canada's economy is slowing along with other nations in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, and that oil prices would tank along with these economic prospects.

As investor sentiment has gone south in the past few weeks, so has Canada's currency.

So far this week, the loonie has lost 5.8 per cent to go with a 4.5 per cent currency depreciation in the previous five trading days.

Earlier this week, the International Monetary Fund said the global economy was heading for a distinct slowdown, a factor likely to crimp Canada's export sales into the United States.

In addition, commodity buyers now see crude oil slumping as well in the face of lower consumer and business demand. Oil prices are hanging around $90 US a barrel, 40 per cent below the commodity's June peak.

Okay, I know that I'm supposed to do these things with an open mind, but.... I tried working the psychic board something like three times today. Nothing made sense. I did get a "spirit" coming through (supposedly) with the same initials of an uncle of mine who died 6 months ago, but why would that happen?

Every time I'd ask for a name, nothing would come forth. Then it hit me again, that perhaps this supposed spirit doesn't know how to spell his or her name. So I started asking names of those around the trial. At one point I asked the name of someone around that time and it said "yes," that was the correct name. I didn't believe it.

Before that I asked if the name Ruth Ann gave me was correct. The answer was "yes." That's why I didn't believe the second "yes." Besides, I'm not sure that what I was getting was "wishful thinking," or subconcious muscle movement, etc. What can I say? I'm skeptical.

I pulled out a Ouija board and, again, nothing. Maybe I'm just a dunce when it comes to this form of communication. I'll probably keep trying though.

A thought kept coming to me as well. April complained when she did her reading that the "dark man" was blocking her from getting information. Could this be the case here? Perhaps there is a spirit who isn't being allowed to communicate with me? Or perhaps the spirit attached to the skull is a trickster.

If that's the case, I'm getting bored with his or her tricks.

I get lost in your eyes

And I feel my spirits rise

And soar like the wind

Is it love that I am in?

I get weak in a glance

Isn't this what's called romance

And now I know

'Cause when I'm lost I cant let go

I dont mind not knowing what I'm headed for

You can take me to the skies

It's like being lost in heaven

When I'm lost in your eyes

I just fell, dont know why

Something's there we can't deny

And when I first knew

Was when I first looked at you

And if I can't find my way

If salvation seems worlds away

Oh, I'll be found

When I am lost in your eyes

I don't mind not knowing what I'm headed for

You can take me to the skies

It's like being lost in heaven

When I'm lost in your eyes

I get weak in a glance

Isnt this what's called romance?

Oh, I'll be found

When I am lost in your eyes

Orientation by Daniel Orozco is a story of an employee giving a lecture to a newcomer and telling him/her about the rules in the office regarding the use of the telephone, whom to consult in the office, when and where he/she is off limits and eventually giving the details of the other employees lives. It ends with the speaker telling the newbie to come to her if he/she needs anything.

The story is by form a monologue. First allow me to assume that the speaker of the story is a woman. It is I think written under a persona of a woman speaker because the statements suggest that the speaker, at the same time adding up information about the lives of the other people, orients the new employee by connecting those details to the necessary things that the he/she should know. She is giving an orientation to a new employee. By that, the speaker reveals to us the lives of her officemates because the descriptions point out to each employee.

There is another angle in which there aren't any profiles provided for both the speaker and the addressed. This for me is a remarkable technique that enabled different responses to the story. that even though its two main characters are a mystery, the first shows to us that she is persuasive as the later is submissive. This for me is understandable for it is the meek respect that a newbie should show.

It is remarkable for the voice of the speaker reveals her character and her attitude results to the overall creation of the mood and atmosphere of the story. The monologue renders a coloring that made me sympathize the different lives of the people that the speaker introduced. The description gave me as a reader a picture of the office ambiance. She gives us information that is possibly acquired from being employed in that office for a long time. Her voice is as assuring as her statements. She orients newbie in every know-how in the office. She knows what happens and is sure of them. She frames the other characters as if she truly knows them. I think her way of orienting is such as storytelling.

There are different highlights in the story that gave me the impression that such office is a weird example. It gave me the idea that since all information came from one person, the speaker provides the only reliable details and that makes the story her version. Under her own biases and of the only details that she acquired. The addressee isn't given he opportunity to talk, the speaker assumes for herself all that there is to know.

I had encountered many difficulties in translating the story. Even in the closest literal translation I wondered if there is an equivalent in translation for the word as cubicles, humiliating sex games, you may be let go, etc. I cannot grasp for what office it is. I am confused if there is a point in domesticating or foreignizing. If I do domesticate, I couldn't give clear equivalents for the words and this could destroy the beauty of the original, however if I foreignize, the story is displaced first hand by the names in the story. These are really exaggerations, for these are challenges faced in translation. But I really am confused of what things to sacrifice and what to retain.

I am coming up with a translation that should be situated in an office and that which should retain the controversial[ity] of the characters. The story is really a wonderful work and it would be a shame to veer towards equity that isn't good enough. The original should be given justice. Being written in a contemporary situation is an advantage for the possibility of drawing equivalents. In my mother tongue Bisaya I could translate the story into all that I could.

Orientation doesn't only provide me with a foreground for the speaker gave me a clear background that implies the overall run. The newbie, by being mute, could become the reader in the course of reading. This in turn allows the drawing of impression that results from reading her piece. The speech would seem as out of the ordinary that an officer would give, but this created the situation and the circumstance that the newbie was placed. There are many things to consider in the translating the piece. I need to retain the same manner and voice of the speaker. My translation would then be another different response after reading and translating Orientation.

The writer imposed the mood of the story by means of allowing all information to unravel by the speaker's storytelling. The target, which is actually the addressed, has become now the reader. Then after being bombarded with the office rules, employers profiles and controversies, the speaker stops by bidding the new employee with “If you can’t find them, feel free to ask me. That’s my cubicle. I sit in there.” The orientation of the new employee eventually reached deeper into the intrigues of the workers' lives. The series of told instructions had become an orientation for what the imaginary new employee should expect.

Ok here is the walkthrough also check out my recent post and see if you can figure out the questions.

1.Talk to G

2. Then take the 3 transmitters, yellow duck, and the blue print that is on the wall.

3. Go to the ski lodge and grab all the find four pieces they are on the steps, under the big phone thingy on the stool, and on the ledge next to the window

4. Then go upstairs and grab all the find four pieces and the string. The find four pieces are on the box,on the other box with a grey box on top of that box,on a table with a old music player,on a table with a typewriter, and in a little corner. the string is next to the yellow, green, and blue rug.

5. Then go downstairs and give the penguins the find four pieces.

6. Now go to the forest and grab the little sticks

7. Then combine the sticks with the blueprint then the string with the blueprint/stick kite

8. Now go to the mountain and also attach the transmitter to the kite. After that drag the kite onto the big pole

9.Go to the Plaza and click the penguins. Then the blue puffle will blow a bubble and it will pop on them. they will ask for help just click the piece thats stuck to the middle of them. They will give you gum.

10. Attach the gum onto the yellow duck

11. Now go to the Dock

12. Talk to the guy and he wants help with his boat. Just pull the brown handle out as far as it lets you go and he will let you use the pump

13. Use the pump with the duck and pump it. It will eventually blow all the way up.

14. Attach the transmitter to the duck and go to the Ice Burg

15. Now put the duck into the water

16.Go to the mine shack and talk to the guy

17. Click the wood on the side of the building to start a little mini game

18. To beat it move the wood pieces so that the left side of the pipe is going down

19. Now click the cart and you will go into another mini game

20. To beat this one just weld over the cracks

21. Put a transmitter into the cart then click the cart and it will go down the track.

22. Answer your phone and go to the HQ

23. Talk to G then take the binoculars

24. Go to the ski lodge again then click the door that says " gone fishing"

25. Go to the right till you see a big frozen pond.

26. Click the binoculars and click the other side of the pond

27. Watch Herbert and Klutzy

28. Talk to G

29. Go to the other side of the pond (where herbert and klutzy were)and pick up the spy phone

30. Now attach it to the binoculars

31. Finally put that on the second grayish-green tree on the left ( it has no trees touching it)

32. Now go to the HQ

33. Talk to G

34. Watch the secret video

35. get your rewards!!!!

Here is a picture of them

And if you didn't do the part where you get the find four pieces and give it the the penguins I think you don't get the chocolates.

Melody Maker review of April 1987 with staff picks by Paul Mather doing a passable impression of Johnny Marr.

It's not as crappy a scan as it might first appear. These copies are all printed on loose leaf pages that don't match up perfectly and in this case Melody Maker never actually printed Ian Astbury's face. Some might say it's a great improvement.

This weekend's bizarre search term was "thom yorke handwriting analysis" and a related one that made me smile was "where in oxford do radiohead live". Well thankfully I can answer that one. Radiohead live just opposite Inspector Morse. Why not pay them a visit next weekend as I believe Supergrass will also be taking part a charity bedrace through the city streets.

Violette's wrinkle
On a daisy chain
Why are you sad april
While the end of may
Is caressing the sand
Perched in a fanned stand

Why you doing here
Endeared
By the beach
Front the stores
And the twilights
Clinged to midnight
For some whores

Why are you so peaky
While the parade
Is sparkling
in a shivering bade
and rambling cinemas

Because
She says
Castles of paper
And plugged deltas
Cardboard mermaids
And booby hookas
Front silly mania
Promised me the moon
To desiderata

Because
She says
From autumn rings
to permanent springs
Any buddy's hiss
Got the better of bliss
