Even the most confident dresser cannot help but suffer occasional pangs of outfit envy. Acute symptoms occur when, having accessorised liberally and in glorious technicolour, one finds oneself face to face with one's fashion nemesis: fresh-faced and jewellery-free, she might be wearing an understated shift in charcoal grey, or perhaps a sophisticated white shirt with simple black trousers. Either way, she is the embodiment of minimalist chic, while your own get-up leaves you feeling like a Christmas tree.

The potential for just such moments is all the greater right now, as the savviest of celebs have shown us mere mortals how to ditch the inessential and take the fast-track to effortless style.

Ms Moss, surprisingly often a fan of the more is more school of accessorising, made the case for minimalism in a grey mini-dress on a recent trip to Berlin – the interesting shape and clean lines unspoilt by anything more than simple flats and an equally unfussy bag. And over in New York, Katie Holmes took a U-turn from the sloppy jeans and layers she has favoured lately, opting for a tailored jacket and trousers in classic black, while Ashley Olsen abandoned her deluxe hippie look for something altogether more serious.

1. Lace - Lace tops, lace dresses... lace embellishments. Oh and by the way, does that mean that you can get away without wearing anything underneath?? I certainly would feel weird walking out without something solid under a lace top, but that's just me.

2. Pastel Colors - I have dark olive skin and to tell you the truth, pastels look horrid on me. I'm not saying they look bad on everyone but is this really a trend? I feel like I'm a 5 year old when I wear pastel colors. Although this yellow color is beautiful. Anyone else feel this way?

3. The color purple - Some people say purple is the new pink. Take it as you will, I still love pink.... things. I'd never wear the color pink because it looks bad on me and I actually like the purple trend. Well, dark purple. Like I said, pastels look bad on me. Yay for plum purple outfits.

4. Gladiator Sandals - UGH I hate these. They look so freakin weird. Maybe they'd look better if they weren't so freakishly tall. And what kind of tan lines do you get from wearing these!?! Please tell me this trend is going to go away... forever.

The solution to Mary-Kate's deception is to send her to Guantanamo Bay and waterboard her until she tells the truth. How many people are at risk while Mary-Kate Olsen is on the streets? The answer is everyone, especially Ashley Olsen, whose elf powers are not as strong as her sisters. In fact, Mary-Kate may be physically abusing Ashley right at this very second. In case you haven't been following the drama surrounding Mary-Kate Olsen and the DEA's ongoing investigation into Heath Ledger's death, here's what you need to know...

1. In February, the DEA launched an investigation into how Heath obtained the multiple prescription drugs that reportedly led to his accidental overdose.
2. Mary-Kate was publicly linked to the case when the masseuse who discovered Heath's body allegedly called Mary-Kate three times before calling 911.
3. Speculation surfaced early this week that Mary-Kate was refusing to cooperate with the federal probe unless she was granted immunity in the case.
4. Mary-Kate's attorney fired back: "Despite tabloid speculation, Mary-Kate Olsen has nothing whatsoever to do with the drugs found in Heath Ledger's home or his body, and does not know where he obtained them." While her attorney did not address the reports that Mary-Kate was seeking immunity from the feds, he did call descriptions of the investigation "incomplete and inaccurate."
5. Today, E! News quotes a federal law enforcement source, stating that a subpoena with Mary-Kate's name on it "was dated and signed on April 23, but it has not been enforced yet...We are still in negotiations. There are still negotiations with Mary-Kate's lawyer and also with our U.S. Attorney's Office, the prosecutors."

Whenever you watch a drama on tv, the witnesses always ask for immunity. So, you can't blame Mary-Kate for asking, if she did. However, immunity is not granted or discussed as often as tv leads us to believe. Instead, prosecutors and investigators in most cases are able to move forward on cases without offering any protections to witnesses.

If she is subpoenaed and must appear before a grand jury, do you think she will send Ashley instead? Would you be able to tell the difference? Now, that would be an amazing collision between pop culture and law!

Weird gals, but I loooooove them!!

Once I spent all afternoon at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills waiting for these two to show up! Cost me nearly $400 in shit I didn't need, except for the sandals. Anyhow, what seems like forever ago poor Keith Ledger took the last train to Downersville and MK knows something about it. Her lips are sealed and she has enough money to buy an attorney to see that they stay that way!!

Jezebel posts an interesting blog on how head scarfs should be worn, along with discussing the impact such a fashion trend would have upon Muslim women who obviously wear a head scarf every day of their life. I don't want to get into the religious side of things, fashion's my game.

What does everyone else say? Is it a yay or a nay for headscarfs? I would love to be totally tally-pip about it, and wear it like our very our headscarf wearing fashion icon- the Queen... but there is a small part of me that would feel completely uncomfortable thus taking out any enjoyment of the accessory. In an ideal world where I would have the balls to wear a head scarf like such I would have to pair it with a bright white shirt, denim skinny jeans and some cute flat pumps... beautiful dahling!

Another way, which I often wear mine, is as a band around your head, like Rambo or like miss Ritchie as pictured. Its not quite as bold as covering your full head, but it is a very good starting point and if you buy a scarf this summer I would urge you to wear it like this as it funks up even the plainest of outfits.

I think out of all the headscarf stylee's that will be about this summer/autumn the one that I will be going for is the turban wrap look... it sounds a lot worse than it actually is trust me.

Simple and classic, not too out there but just enough for my liking; this style has previously been seen at Prada and of all of the headscarf fashions I think this is the most elegant and it reminds me of old school Hollywood glamour which is something we could all do a bit of in our lives!!
