Una alternativa simple para grabar es utilizar el programa gratuito Audacity. Es un archivo pequeño, fácil de descargar y simple en su manipulación. Claro está, tiene limitaciones a la hora de editar como la cantidad de pistas, no obstante, lo puedes descargar en cualquier lugar y editar rápidamente. Aquí puedes descargar un breve manual que explica cómo generar un proyecto y las principales funciones de edición. Otro elemento importante de considerar a la hora de armar contenido de audio son los gestos y bases musicales que complementen el relato. Este sitio español es una alternativa, al igual que este en idioma inglés.

Para incorporar audio en un blog, tienes que subir el archivo a algún sitio como archive o podomatic. Luego bastará que en WP añadas en tu entrada "audio dirección del archivo" entre corchetes para que se vea y escuche así:

[audio http://ia301307.us.archive.org/1/items/RadioCooperativaExploraFsicaCunticayelSueodeVolar/conciencia_tec13_64kb.mp3]

Ten en cuenta que la "dirección del archivo" es la url donde hosteaste el audio. O sea, debería ser un http://yladirecciondelhostdelarchivo esto es lo que tiene que ir entre [ ] junto a la palabra "audio".

La idea era, según el alumno, poder quedarse con los estribillos de algunas canciones y hacer una composición con ellos de un modo lo más sencillo posible.

Software a utilizar

Para realizar la tarea encomendada utilizaremos Audacity que es uno de esos programas que sirven para casi todo (el desayuno, de momento, no lo prepara) y al que le estoy muy agradecido (gracias a él aprobé las oposiciones a Secundaria pero esa es otra historia que no voy a contar...ahora ;) )

Otro motivo por el que he optado por él es que existe versión tanto para Linux como para el "ventanuco"; aunque hago todo lo que puedo los alumn@s suelen usar eso que la inmensa mayoría llaman "sistema operativo"

Instalación de Audacity

Tan sencillo como siempre basta con buscarlo en Synaptic o ejecutar desde la terminal un

sudo apt-get install audacity

Procedimiento para extraer secuencia de audio

Aunque existen varias formas (incluida la de hacer split), considero que la más sencilla es

1. Abrir el fichero del que extraeremos un fragmento



2. Marcar (arrastrando el ratón) la zona que nos interesa de la pista de audio
3. Seleccionar la opción "Exportar selección"

NOTA: En el formulario de exportación se recomienda seleccionar el formato Ogg Vorvis en lugar de MP3.

Una alternativa a Youtube para publicar videos es Archive. Este sitio, con fines educativos, proporciona hosting para cualquier tipo de archivo y los comprime en varios formatos. Por ejemplo, si es video lo deja en dos calidades diferentes a la original y enformato flash. Sin embargo, a veces ocurre que el video flash puede quedar mal comprimido, lo que implica volver a realizar la operación de subida.

Otra alternativa para video es Bliptv que genera una subida y compresión ràpida. Además, el sitio ofrece la alternativa con el código html para publicar en sitios com WP.

A lot of people emailed me recommendations.  One of the most useful was a link to www.transom.org.  It's about how to do radio, by yourself - or things like radio.  I just in writing this became distracted by reading an interview with the people who get voices for the TV show "creature comforts" .  All of the how to do it stuff is becoming more fascinating as I actually do stuff.

I made my first podcast this week, but it's not going up on this website - it's go too many problems, still.  It was my learning podcast.  I did not use a field recorder to record that, just an ipod with a digital voice recorder.  You can hear the ipod kind of chugging along in the background, since it has moving parts.  The new field recorder sounds much better.  I am using audacity to edit the sound - which has taken some learning, though it's a pretty easy program.  Fortunately, I have a live in tutor for the program.

Anyway, yeah, it's a lot of work to do sound.  I kind of thought it would be easier than writing, because other people are saying the words.  But getting them to say good words, and then recombinging the words so that they actually mean something to someone who wasn't there.  I think it's harder. But I hope it will get easier.

But, anyway I did manage to clean out the fridge along with my roomies.  It was pretty scary.  You definitely wouldn't think three girls could be as messy as we are and have a bunch old nasty food in their fridge.  Along with ancient lettuce and some chunky coconut pineapple protein juice I found my exes flask.  grrrr...  Of course now I would have to get in touch with him when we are finally through.  

I of course poured out the whiskey in it and then sent him a txt later.  I was out that evening when he wanted to come get it and now it is Sunday evening and the flask is still in my possession.  The question that I can't get over is should I leave it out on my porch for him or after how he has treated me should I hand it to him in person?  is that going to bother him... or is that being too nice to him (in both cases speaking of the latter)...  

He had the audacity Friday night when he txted me back and wanted to pick it up of saying "can i come over and get my flask and possibly a hug?"  Gawd! does he think that if he is pathetic enough I will be like "oh I love you and have missed you so much.  lets be best friends forever."  I mean come on does he think I was born yesterday.

My dictionary has a note under the word temerity, which also means boldness, that distinguishes rashness from temerity--rashness is a risk that lacks forethought whereas temerity is daringness that exposes one to danger without measuring the chances of success. Audacity, however, is credited with the subtle distinction of a boldness that specifically disregards moral standards or social convictions.

I was audacious yesterday.

I went to a lecture yesterday afternoon--the speaker was a man whose intelligence was breathtaking. So breathtaking that I found him to be possibly the most attractive man I have come across yet. He spoke with this clarity and order that had me captivated to his every word the whole two hours of his lecture.

I badly wanted to meet him. Very badly. So badly, in fact, that I got myself invited to dinner with him and a few other professors.

I am amazed at my audacity.

It was a lovely dinner--we went to a New Orleans-style restaurant downtown and talked about movies, and vegetarianism, and the ethics behind genetically engineered chicken plants... We talked about ambiguity and vagueness, Italy, dogs, the list goes on. Unfortunately, the dinner ended and the professor left with the other professors to chat, probably late into the night.

I don't think he realized quite how young I am, which is, I think, how I got the invite. He's probably twenty years older than me.

But, man alive, was he ever attractive.

Intelligence is the greatest turn on, in my eyes.

I first read this at Holycoast and pass it along here.  And, hey, you do pass on as well.  One needs to help the leftwing recognize that there are some people who are paying attention.  The essay, which really should be read in full, comes from Real Clear Politics's Thomas Sowell:

  Abraham Lincoln said, "You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time."

Unfortunately, the future of this country, as well as the fate of the Western world, depends on how many people can be fooled on election day, just a few weeks from now.

Right now, the polls indicate that a whole lot of the people are being fooled a whole lot of the time.

The current financial bailout crisis has propelled Barack Obama back into a substantial lead over John McCain-- which is astonishing in view of which man and which party has had the most to do with bringing on this crisis.

It raises the question: Do facts matter? Or is Obama's rhetoric and the media's spin enough to make facts irrelevant?

Fact Number One: It was liberal Democrats, led by Senator Christopher Dodd and Congressman Barney Frank, who for years-- including the present year-- denied that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were taking big risks that could lead to a financial crisis.

It was Senator Dodd, Congressman Frank and other liberal Democrats who for years refused requests from the Bush administration to set up an agency to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

It was liberal Democrats, again led by Dodd and Frank, who for years pushed for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to go even further in promoting subprime mortgage loans, which are at the heart of today's financial crisis.

Alan Greenspan warned them four years ago. So did the Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers to the President. So did Bush's Secretary of the Treasury, five years ago.

Yet, today, what are we hearing? That it was the Bush administration "right-wing ideology" of "de-regulation" that set the stage for the financial crisis. Do facts matter?

We also hear that it is the free market that is to blame. But the facts show that it was the government that pressured financial institutions in general to lend to subprime borrowers, with such things as the Community Reinvestment Act and, later, threats of legal action by then Attorney General Janet Reno if the feds did not like the statistics on who was getting loans and who wasn't.

Is that the free market? Or do facts not matter?

Then there is the question of being against the "greed" of CEOs and for "the people." Franklin Raines made $90 million while he was head of Fannie Mae and mismanaging that institution into crisis.

Who in Congress defended Franklin Raines? Liberal Democrats, including Maxine Waters and the Congressional Black Caucus, at least one of whom referred to the "lynching" of Raines, as if it was racist to hold him to the same standard as white CEOs.

Even after he was deposed as head of Fannie Mae, Franklin Raines was consulted this year by the Obama campaign for his advice on housing!

The Washington Post criticized the McCain campaign for calling Raines an adviser to Obama, even though that fact was reported in the Washington Post itself on July 16th. The technicality and the spin here is that Raines is not officially listed as an adviser. But someone who advises is an adviser, whether or not his name appears on a letterhead.

The tie between Barack Obama and Franklin Raines is not all one-way. Obama has been the second-largest recipient of Fannie Mae's financial contributions, right after Senator Christopher Dodd.

But ties between Obama and Raines? Not if you read the mainstream media.

Facts don't matter much politically if they are not reported.

The media alone are not alone in keeping the facts from the public. Republicans, for reasons unknown, don't seem to know what it is to counter-attack. They deserve to lose.

But the country does not deserve to be put in the hands of a glib and cocky know-it-all, who has accomplished absolutely nothing beyond the advancement of his own career with rhetoric, and who has for years allied himself with a succession of people who have openly expressed their hatred of America.

And Mrs. Pelosi had the audacity (of hope, no doubt!) to commend Barney Frank's intellect with regard to the first version of the "bailout" legislation!  Yes, it does take some big something (maybe not intellect, though) to "fix" the problem that you created and then pat yourself on the back about your fabulous solution. 

It's not the "audacity of hope," it's just the audacity.  Period.

It's a variation on "it's the economy, stupid" -- except it's the American people that Democrats think are stupid.

The assignment is to take a 1 minute segment of a song of your choosing and insert 3 different bird song files into it in a musical and creative way.

Use the bird samples to stress, highlight or otherwise bring out the rhythmic and melodic elements of the song.

We are starting our work in Audacity - putting together elements of rhythm and melody

Our first project was to take the above bird song and modify it.  We took the more melodic sample from seconds 4-5 and altered its pitch and combined it with the rhythmic chirps at the end.
