In materie de web browsing, Mozilla este considerat browserul nr. 1 in lume. O aplicatie exccelenta, cu diverse teme, pop-up blocking, tabs, si multe plugin-uri.

Atunci cand vorbim de video player si/sau video podcasting ne gandim la Miro. Un player care ruleaza orice tip de extensie video (chiar mai bine ca Windows Media Player), poate fi legat la un feed via rss, are support de torrent, asa ca poti downloada si filme.

Trecem iar la internet, dar la o parte mai populata si anume chat-ul. In materie de IM, Pidgin este considerat unul dintre cele mai bune, prin el putand sa te conectezi la mai multi furnizori.

Los actuales sistemas de transmisión de audio/video tienen claras limitaciones. Por una razón u otra no permiten una gestión rápida y eficaz de la información que se transmite, con independencia de las limitaciones de ancho de banda existentes. Básicamente, cuando se trata de acceder a una transmisión multimedia, o esta no se puede descargar, o se puede descargar y no ver en tiempo real, o todo se debe hacer con limitaciones de tiempo real.

A grandes rasgos podemos distinguir tres variantes:

• Los que permiten realizar la descargar para realizar el visionado con posterioridad (BitTorrent o emule).
• Aquellos que permiten el visionado mientras se realiza la descarga (VOD, Vuze, and Joost)
• Los que permiten el visionado en tiempo real (web-cams, live TV broadcasts, etc)

Según cuenta Bandaancha.eu el grupo de investigación P2P Next ha iniciado unas pruebas piloto, con las que quiere comprobar la viabilidad de un nuevo formato de streaming de vídeo basado en BitTorrent. Se trata de un proyecto europeo subvencionado con 19 millones de €, en el que participan varias universidades, la Unión Europea de Radiodifusión, medios como la BBC y marcas como Pioneer. Su objetivo es crear un sistema de distribución de señal de TV a nivel europeo, basado en el P2P, que pueda ser utilizado por la industria para emitir TV sobre IP.

Este nuevo formato permite que cualquier persona emita una señal de TV a miles de espectadores, consumiendo un mínimo de ancho de banda. Para hacer esto posible, se ha creado un formato de fichero .tstream, similar a un .torrent pero con capacidad de streaming. Para reproducirlo es necesario el reproductor Swarm Player, que esta basado en el popular VideoLan (el mejor reproductor de audio/video existente). A diferencia de Joost, este formato tiene vocación de convertirse en un standard y sus especificaciones son Open Source.

Un equipo de 20 personas que trabaja en el proyecto utiliza BitTorrent como referencia y está desarrollando una aplicación sobre el programa Tribler. El resultado será el SwarmPlayer que soportará descargas de BitTorrent, pero también permitirá ver vídeo en directo en streaming.

Bem, parece que foi desta...às uns tempo ameaçaram e agora fechou. Pelo menos é o que parece ao tentar aceder ao Site WarezTuga.

Enfim, para quem não sabe este era um site onde se disponibilizavam links para ficheiros alojados em diversos "FileHosts", como por exemplo o RapidShare. À semelhança de muitos outros sites do género também disponibilizava todo o tipo de Software de forma "não legal".

Pessoalmente acho que não é por fechar um site destes que a pirataria vai acabar, antes pelo contrário...fecha 1 abrem 10 sites do género. Ok, pirataria é crime e os preço esorbitante de filmes, jogos e músicas o que é?

Acho piada grupos como os Dzrt virem para a TV dizer: (na altura antes de "morrerem" como banda) "Nós temos sido bastante prejudicados pela pirataria" enquanto que na verdade, aquele jovem dos Dzrt mais moreno, comprou um Ferrari...o que é isto? Afinal não foram assim tão prejudicados...e além disso podem agradecer à pirataria pelo sucesso que tiveram, pois duvido muito que grande maioria das "pitas" tivesse dinheiro para comprar um CD.

Bem, acho impossivel acabar com a pirataria e, sinceramente, não é com medidas destas que vão lá...talvez baixando os preços dos produtos consigam, agora assim não.

Só espero é não ver o meu Batatinhas fechado por causa destes meu comentários :|

بت تورنت مصطلح يطلق على طريقة من طرق مشاركة الملفات عبر الانترنت مابين مستخدمين الانترنت والتى الند للند أو مايعرف باللغة الانجليزية (Peer-to-peer) حيث يكون تبادل الملفات بين اشخاص دون و جود و سيط عدا Tracker (المتقصى ) وهو برنامج عادة مايكون مستضاف على Server (الخادم ) والذي يتكفل في تنسيق عملية الاتصال مابين Peers (النظراء) أو المستخدمين .
مبرمج البروتوكول و مخترعه هو Bram Cohen برام كوهين وتمت برمجته بلغة بايثون Paithon وهى لغة من لغات البرمجة .

So, how will we do it? Simple, WebUI (Web User Interface).

Step 1: Enable the WebUI feature in uTorrent.

It is simple in the new versions of uTorrent, but in the old one, you need to press Ctrl+P. Now in the 'Preferences' tree, look for 'Advanced'. On expanding it you will see the option of 'WebUI'. Check 'enable Web Interface' on the right side. It is recommended that you create a password for it, so that the service is not abused by someone else.

Step 2: Check if your port is open to accept incoming connections.

In the status bar below in the main uTorrent window, you will se a green tick mark or a yellow exclaimation. Click that. Now, you will see a button on the lower side of the window saying 'Test if port is forwarded properly'. Click on this button, and it will open your browser window. There should be a gree 'OK' in the browser window. If not, then forward your port from your firewall, or add it as a NAT entry in your DSL router/modem (both for UDP and TCP).

Step 3: Download the WebUI from uTorrent's website.

Step 4: Install the WebUI.

Open your C: in Windows Explorer. In the 'address' field write '%appdata%\uTorrent' (without quotes). Place the webui.zip file in this directory (from the webui_v0.310_beta_2.rar archive).

Step 5: Test the WebUI.

Open your Firefox or Internet Explorer 7 (Internet Explorer 6 is not supported) and type:

http://127.0.0.1:<port_number>/gui/index.html

It will ask for your Username and Password. Enter it, and you will see your Web Interface. Remotely, you will need to enter your IP address instead of 127.0.0.1.

Step 6: For dynamic IP users.

For users with a dynamic IP, we must use a dynamic DNS service, like no-ip.com or DynDNS. After you activate it, you will have to type something like this when you are on a different system:

http://username.no-ip.org:<port_number>/gui/index.html

Step 7: WebUI on your mobile.

For any JAVA enabled phone, you need to get the JAVA application which connects to your uTorrent. Open this link in your JAVA enabled phone.

If your phone is not JAVA ready, download this zip, extract it, inside there is a folder called 'iphone' take that folder and place it inside the webui.zip (using WinRAR) that you installed in at '%AppData%\uTorrent' on your PC. Don't extract the webui zip just add the iphone folder to it. To access this interface you will need to type:

Step 8: Still not enough? How about control them via Facebook?

You can add the Facebook Application from here and log in with your Facebook ID. Fill in the details and you can even control uTorrent via Facebook!

I've been anticipating it for a while, and meaning to write something about it for a few days, but it appears that Azureus, once the best Bittorrent client around, has officially been killed of in favor of the Vuze Content Whoremongering System (actually everything past "Vuze" is what I call it), occassionally it happens, where good people are convinced to put their effort into an open source project that the community can benefit from, then the main proprietors figure out how to hijack and sell the work you did for free, and turn it into a sleaze ball sales gimmick for themselves, and this is what happened a while back with the Windows version of Xchat (now shareware), and it's happening now with Azureus/Vuze.

It's happened for a while that there were good examples of why GPLv2 was totally insufficient, like how "Linux XP", one of those stupid projects to brain damage Linux and turn it into a cheap ripoff of Windows, has had a product activator.

And thats how some of these projects reel in willing developers to build their product for them, then they pull the switch on you, steal your work, and run off, the GPLv2 can be a deceptive psiren song, but the thing to take away from this is that you need to check out exactly what projects you want to support, Azureus was even accepting donations at one point, I know I'd be mad if I handed them a $20 then they turned around and turned the platform I helped build into a content delivery system for pay per view soft porn, and other assorted crap.

Anyway, alternative clients I recommend:

Windows:

The official Bittorrent client is based on this, so think of it as Bittorrent with less crap.

Deluge running on Fedora 9 x86-64. Oh no! I'm downloading an OS on Bittorrent, someone call the imaginary property police, oh wait, it's Fedora for the PPC Macintosh, IBM Power Servers, and Playstation 3, wow...sweet! ;)

I highly recommend Deluge on Linux, it's the best I've seen, period.

Using the blocklist:

With all of the bad organizations watching torrent swarms these days and poisoning them, and collecting IP addresses for lawsuits, you can't be too careful:

For uTorrent:

Grab that file, decompress it (use 7Zip or something), rename the .dat file to "ipfilter.dat", stuff it in the appdata folder for the version of Windows you use, there's several versions of Windows that all do it different, so just figure out where it is for your version, and load up uTorrent again, and check in the logging tab to make sure it says that the list was loaded.

Manually update every week or so.

For Deluge:

Edit/Preferences/Plugins, enable Blocklist Importer, click Preferences, select Emule IP list, past in the link I gave, and tell it to update every 3-4 days.

Footnote:

If you have Ubuntu or Fedora, you probably have Transmission for your bittorrent client, which is far too dumbed down, and the developers are idiots too, please remove it.

I can't find the exact quote, but when I was trying to figure out how to get the blocklist working on Transmission, one of the developers told me to the effect of:

"There will never be any kind of blocklist support in Transmission, not now, not ever." -Transmission team

Which kind of reminded me of the Iraqi Information Minister:

"There are no American infidels in Baghdad, not now, never! Never I tell you!"

Oh, btw, Blocklist support is in the GUI now, but since Ubuntu never updates their stuff til the next release, that puts you guys at October with Intrepid Ibex, I tried the DEBs from Getdeb.net and although the UI option to grab the list and use it was there, it only lets you use the Level1 section, which is as much protection from the RIAA by itself as putting a wet paper bag over your head during a nuclear explosion.

Mac users seem to love Transmission....no comment.
