seit gestern abend habe ich besuch von einem freund von mir aus hannover. nach einer durchzechten nacht und viel spaß auf youtube hat mir hüseyin, seines zeichens mitbetreiber vom türkeimonitor heute einen wundervollen morgen beschert.

nach dem mittaglichen aufstehen hat er mir das album künye von den beiden geschwistern öykü und berk gezeigt. und das war wirklich ein eindrucksvolles erlebnis...

ich bin durch meinen vater ziemlich flamenco beeinflusst, da dieser ein wahrer radio tarifa-addict ist. somit war mir flamenco mit stark arabischen einflüssen nicht ganz fremd.

man merkt schon bei radio tarifa die arabischen anklänge in der intonation der gesangsstimme. auch die instrumente sind nicht nur klassisch gitarre.

aber das hier ist flamenco auf türkisch gesungen, mit einer wundervollen stimme von einer wunderschönen frau.

die beiden smarten geschwister spielen modernen flamenco, der zum teil auch richtig tanzbar ist ...

also wer da noch angst vor einer erweiterung der eu nach südosten hat! das verweist auf eine wirklich breite palette an musikalischen impulsen die grade in der türkei zu brodeln scheinen. ich bekomme davon als latinnerd ja immer nur am rande meines horizont etwas mit, durch freunde wie hüseyin oder tio chango der gerade in istanbul seine poststudiumszeit verbringt.

also augen und ohren auf richtung orient!

auf jeden fall sollte man(n und frau) seine islamophoben scheuklappen wegpacken, die versperren die sicht auf so schöne (trans)kulturelle eindrücke

Vanmiddag in Omsk aangekomen. Nog niet opgegeten door de wolven. Dat scheelt. Dan kom ik ook wel in Beijing, denk ik zo.

Er kwam bij Krasnojarsk een Rus in mijn coupé: Victor.
Een aardige jonge kerel met een mooie foto van zijn dochter en een vierkant koffertje.
Als er een Rus in de trein is die goed gezelschap vormt, dan is het Victor. Fotograaf van bodemprofielen. Voor olie voor China. En op zoek naar iemand om Duits mee te praten. Met zwarte zonnebloempitjes en sterke thee met suiker.
Het was een gezellig en moeizaam gesprek, met veel tekeningen.

En toen hebben Suzanne en Peter me gevraagd of ik er bij hen bij wilde,
Want zij hadden ook een Rus in hun coupé. En hun Rus kende mijn Rus.

Dus nu zit ik gezellig samen met Fausto, Suzanne en Peter in de coupé. Ook niet verkeerd.

We hebben gezellig met Takeo (de grappige Japanner) en Lydia en Kerron (de hippe Britten) in de wagonrestauratie gegeten. Takeo zegt "So sorry" als hij iets wil gaan zeggen en "Oh yes yes yes yes!" als hij je niet begrijpt.
Morgen eet ik denk ik weer noedels. De tweede keer zalm en vette aardappels waren lekker, maar vielen niet geweldig.

De enorme afstanden.
Ze worden een beetje griezelig.
Zó véél berken! Al twee dagen lang!
En dan ook al die lege vlakten met riet.
En - in het midden van niets - de steden. Ze zijn oud en vervallen, kapotte flats - op de stations na. Roestig en overal rommel. Meestal wonen er meer dan een miljoen mensen. Hoe doen ze dat?

Trakya üniversitesi 2008 bahar şenliklerini izleme fırsatı buldum. Pinhani, Duman, Aylin Aslım Gripin, 5.Element Öykü&Berk ve Feridun düzağaç konserleriyle çok eğlenceli bir konser serisi görebilmek mükemmeldi.

Öykü&Berk Evlerinin Önü Boyalı Direk adlı çıkış şarkılarını en son konserin bitiş parçası olarak söyledi ama oda havai fişek gösterisinin arkasında kaldı. Feridun Düzağaç konseri mükemmeldi. Beşiktaş çarşı grubunun meşaleli gösterisi ve tezahurat yapması en çok dikkat çeken olaylardandı. Özellikle Klavyeci Ata Akdağ'ın Sözlerini Geri Alamam adlı şarkıyı söylemesiyle duyduğumuz sesi çok güzeldi. Konserlerde herhangi bir ses sorunu ve olumsuz olay yaşanmadı. Trakya Üniversitesine teşekkürler : ) Bir sonraki bahar şenliklerinde görüşmek üzere...

Kiri - qui fait partie des gens qui ont un blog qui refuse mes comments - a demandé quel était notre plus ancien souvenir.
Alôôôrs... J'avais deux ou trois ans, on venait à peine d'emménager dans la nouvelle maison de mes parents et j'ai fait un rêve. Dans ce rêve, j'étais couchée sur le canapé, la tête sur les genoux de mon grand-père, les pieds chez ma maman. On regardait la télé quand il y a eu un bruit derrière la porte de la cave. J'ai demandé ce que c'était et mon grand-père m'a répondu que c'était l'âne de la caveet j'imaginais cette pauvre bête, péniblement debout dans les escaliers, à espérer que qn lui ouvre ou lui donne du foin.

Ouais, je sais, mes rêves sont toujours aussi zarbes, même après *cough*t*cough ans.

So I had the mis-pleasure of several phone calls with Professor Berk, who is unfortunately for myself and surrounding neighbours the architect for a nearby property. On record there have been ten registered complaints to Woollahra Council regarding his design. Not surprising for a proposed building that is in my opinion selfish, poorly thought out and inconsiderate to the surrounding properties. He had little interest in hearing my opinion - and dealt with my observations and perceived problems with blunt dismissal without validation or explanation. This appeared to me to be simply because he believes he knows better and does not feel obliged to explain further. I found his attitude arrogant beyond belief.

In my experience anyone who starts a conversation by reading their credentials is usually a person who derives a high degree of self-importance by doing so, or is insecure. On each of my calls to Victor Berk I endured his recap of his perceived importance and how he is also a Professor at the University of NSW. I do not understand why anyone believes that they have a right to respect - this is reticent of the class system. True professionals understand people, solve complex problems and are able to repeat their feats time and time again. I've found over the years that dealing with people's problems and finding solutions is the mark of a true professional.Despite my best efforts to come to an understanding with Victor Berk I encountered nothing but rudeness, denial and arrogance.

For the record I have taken a good look at Victor Berk's properties and have to say they are some of the ugliest buildings I have seen in the Vaucluse area.

Today I would like to share with you some of the shows that made me laugh, giggle and choke, as I invite you to take a trip... down memory lane... (sorry, I had to say it)

Rocko's Modern Life

Perhaps one of my more liked shows was this, and one of the first cartoons to come out of Nickelodeon, was Rocko's Modern Life. It was the story of a small wallaby, who, with his dog Spunky and best friend Heffer, went about there days, always invariably running into some sort of adventure. This show had that style of animation where everything was disgusting, and back when I was young, disgusting was funny. One of the things that made this show stand out for me was the supporting characters. Whether it be the family of wolves that adopted Heffer, or Rocko's own neighbours, two toads named Ed and Bev Bighead. The one thing that sort of pissed me off about the show, was the very New Zealand accent that Rocko spoke with. I was sure he was supposed to be Australian, and the accent just annoyed me a little.

Super Ted

Wow, I didn't think I'd remember this one, but here we are. Super Ted followed the adventures of a teddy bear that was brought to life using cosmic dust by a Spotty Man, after being thrown out as a factory defect. After he was brought to life, the teddy was given super powers by Mother Nature, and, after saying his 'Secret Magic Word' he becomes, Super Ted! This show was the bomb, I don't care what anyone says. Not only was Super Ted accompanied by Spotty, the main bad guy was a Texan, named Texas Pete! Tex, along with his muscle "Bulk (an overweight, bumbling fool) and Skeleton (an undead cowardly skeleton with pink slippers)" are always causing trouble that Super Ted is called into action to deal with. The 'Secret Magic Word' remains a secret, which leads me to believe it was a very dirty word. Super Ted was great because it offered quick action, with the whole story being wrapped up in only a few minutes.

Widget the World Watcher

Admittedly, I can't remember as much about this show as I can others, but here goes anyway. Widget was a small, purple, 4 ft alien from the Horsehead Nebula, that came to Earth to protect it from ecological harm. Widget had the ability to shape-shift, often turning himself into animals to help save the day. He was accompanied by Brian, Kevin and Kristine, as well as Mega Brain, a giant floating head, with floating hands. This show was fun, but it got kinda boring in the end.

The Trap Door

Don't you open that trap door! Cause there's something down there... Oh man I loved this show, there wasn't one episode that I didn't enjoy watching. The Trap Door focussed on the life of Berk, a portly, blue, English blob whose primary function was to feed the Thing Upstairs (BERK! Feeeed meeeee...) Berk has two companions that help him get through the lonely nights, Boni, a talking skull that is constantly moaning about his terrible life, and Drutt, Berk's spider-like pet. The show often begins with something coming out of the infamous Trap Door, the place where all the monsters and terrible creatures lurk. This show never failed to entertain me, and if they ever, though unlikely, made a movie out of this show, I would totally go see it. How I want a movie to be made out of this show...

Victor and Hugo

This show was awesome, though I'm a little hazy about it. Victor and Hugo were two brothers and burglars who worked for the English based 'Naughtiness International', that continuously, and consistently, end up in jail due to mass amounts of failure. Every episode, Victor, the tall one, would form a meticulous plan to steal something, a plan which would always be fowled up by Hugo, Victors small-statured brother. This show was characterised by the famous line "It is your fault. It is all your fault. It is ALWAYS your fault!" The show often played on the English language, using spoonerisms, mixed up sentences and general stupidity on Hugo's behalf to create interesting combinations of words that always ended in laughter.

Bananaman

Ok, last one for this round, and it's Bananaman. Man this show was fun, who would have thought bananas would be so useful? Bananaman followed teh life of Eric, a young Eglish lad who, when he eats a banana, becomes Bananaman, a hulking mass of muscle and fruit. Bananaman went around fighting general crime and mischief, and always made use of his banana powers in his attempts to stop the evil-doers. Bananaman is pretty strong, said to have the strength of twenty "big" men. This show actaully evolved from a comic strip, but reports indicate that the show had a much wider success, airing in the U.S as a segment of Danger Mouse.
