For a few years with my visits back to Los Angeles I have continually had my eye on the Batmobile Tumblers at Collectable Diecast. Finally I broke down and grabbed both the showcase camo version and newly released boxed flat black version. These bad boys hold some serious weight!

While running through the aisles of Target on a kitty litter mission. I found these newly hung in the toy aisle. Had to get them to go with my newly purchased 1:18 scales and older 1:64 2 car set. Very meaty for their size. all diecast amazingly. and very finely detailed. definitely worth the $6 price tag *ouch* I just hope they drop a desert camo version as well!

Although her reply is a testament to her skills as an entertainer, I don't think Ms. Badu is exempt from all reproach. Essentially, Erica is a Baby Mama for the third time!!!

BEWARE THIS IS A LONG ONE!

FIRST, My Soap Box: I CAN NOT STAND A CELEBRITY THAT WHINES ABOUT BEING A CELEBRITY!!!!

One of the things I've been saying for so long about celebrities in general is what E. HUNTER said "I have no sympathy for those who seek the spotlight, but quickly get upset when that spotlight starts to burn." Celebrities know average folk want to know about their larger than life lifestyles!!! IT'S HOW THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY!! If we aren't interested in them they don't get paid. This means any and ALL mistakes are subject to scrutiny. Does that make it right? Not really. But don't whine about the good and the bad that comes with the job description.

OK BACK TO OUR SCHEDULED PROGRAMMING ....ERYKAH!--

I went to school with Erica and acted in a play or two with her and tended to shy away from her friendship b/c of her CHOICES!!! If I had known she was going to blow up maybe.... Lol! Don't get me wrong...I love Erykah's music! I love Erykah's style! I love Erykah's feminism! But, I would take pause before I emulate her lifestyle choices.

Role modeling: Unfortunately, in the black community celebrities are all that many young people have to look up to. Only 12% of this country's 250 million people, the lack of role models and failing role models have more of an impact on the African American community than any other. 70% of fathers ARE NOT IN BLACK HOMES! What % of these fathers are NOT PARTICIPATING IN THE LIVES OF THEIR CHILDREN period?? How many of these children had parents with the same M.O.? Think of the implications. No reference point for creating relationships, maintaining relationships OR the non-fairytale reality of relationships. Relationships are HARD WORK and take 2 committed people. It's like taking a highly skilled job and not having any training. He/she is fine, they are a dime piece, he can hoop, she can do the splits etc., he's got a job, she's a 36-24-36...are not qualifications for long-lasting relationships. Yet we jump into them without thinking everyday.

My vantage point: I was born out of wed-lock to a 20 year-old mother 1 of 9 (with confused father issues) and an unknown father who was in the Air Force. To this day, I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM HIM!!! I was fortunate or unfortunate (long story) enough to have a stepfather! I MYSELF AM NO SAINT! I had my son at 17...out of wed lock! My promise to him?... I would make sure he never felt like he was in a single-parent home!!

Never make a promise you can't keep.

My son's father died at 7 and the pressure was on to keep this promise. When there are father and son events--I can't substitute for his father's absence. In fact, I feel for him when father's day rolls around every year to remind him of his loss. The fact that he can't wake up in the morning and eat breakfast with his father or talk to him before he goes to sleep at night pains me. What about those fatherly conversations that he overhears or those that will never comes his way. I've always wondered how he felt. Yet, He has never complained or shown hurt. He's more resilient than I ever knew. When John Q came out I knew there would be no other to champion my own child outside of myself. When it's time to talk condoms and ladies, I try. But...again. He's 19 years old now, I can't seem to motivate him the way I know his father or another male could. I worry about his ability to create healthy relationships b/c of the choices I made. It really wasn't fair to him.

So as you can see. I really don't care about Erykah, I am concerned with the impact on the children. If the fathers are totally involved, Kudos to them. Hopefully, they have established a balance that works. Erykah HAPPENS to be one of the lucky ones where money isn't an issue. Although important, MONEY is not the ONLY concern. When you have NO money issues you tend to be able to focus on other things such as your children's well-being. Maybe they are showing how 2 parents can communicate effectively w/o being in live-in relationships. Ultimately, whether you and I like it or not...they are again living the life that 70% of us live and we are trying to rid our communities of...w/o seeing positive 2-parent home relationships.

Soap Box Time AGAIN: Just like OJ! I didn't feel a particular connection with him b/c he's black b/c I don't KNOW him. I didn't win a thing when he won his case. I was pleased to know that he didn't get convicted just b/c he was black! In the same way, I don't have any connection with Erykah. She doesn't represent me unless I want her to.

PEOPLE: If you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything!! It's ok to have an opinion. It's even o.k. to voice that opinion.

Currently, I'm a single woman who still hasn't come across her prince charming (I'm not looking either). I can certainly understand or relate to Erykah's place in life. I can respect her as a woman, mother, artist, and feminist. However, I would NOT have another child without having a two parent home.

That's just ME TELLIN' IT LIKE IT T-I-TIZ!!!.

It’s hard to be intimidating when you’re white. There just ain’t nothing scary about it. I mean, if you’re a black guy on a job interview, well sure, it’s got to be terrifying. But I’m talking physically here. Some guys pull it off, no doubt, but they tend to have bald heads and tattoos of swastikas on their faces. I’ve always been quite the sissy lala when it comes to needles.

So I guess I’m not the authoritative type. I try, sometimes – “NOOOOWWWW!!!” – but it just ain’t me. I guess I’m just too nice …awwww.

...and a hole in my heart.

Ugh. I am such a failure. I keep eating and eating and eating.
My mouth is like a black hole.
And it's not like I enjoy it, either.
My body aches from too much food.
My throat hurts. Me is just wanting to get rid of it all.
And I don't want to throw it up.
I'm almost back up to 200 pounds. And 3 days ago I was at 192. I was so close.
I could be thin.

Ugh. Why am I so bad at everything I do?
And now I'm beginning to think that I'm developing insomnia or something.
I just want these bruises to heal and then I'll be on my way.
Every day I battle the urge not to eat everything I can get my hands on.
I've been losing this battle. And I hate the feeling.

But in other news, I hung out with AM last night.
He's so nice. Even though most people would never guess it.
I may have gotten him a job. I really hope he gets hired,
because if he doesn't get a job by the end of this week
he's getting kicked out of his house. :(
So. Yeah. Anyway, I think we had a pretty nice time last night.
I ate like a pig. I had such horrible cravings. And I can't even really go running today.
The weather is so horrid. But. I want to go anyway. I need to lose weight.
I must. I must. I have to. I need to.

I just read an article about China tonight. They are gettin ready for the olympics so they are banni

I just read an article about China tonight. They are gettin ready for the olympics so they are banning blacks and monglians (cause they are the drug dealers), Gays, and dancing..all in preperation for the olympics.

Usually something like this would upset me. I cant help but laugh tho..the chinese in china are so off on this, for so many reasons.

Lets start with dancing...first off..this is for the olympics right? Umm gymnists throw dance steps into their routines in the competion. Dancing is a sport..might not be something they compete with in the olympics but it is combined with alot of the sports they do compete in. Plus the whole world dances. Every single country has dance in its culture...so that is just wack as hell to me. I dont get it.

Then as far as banning blacks...wtf? So if I wanted to come to the olympics, as an american..I wouldnt be allowed to hang out in the city. Eat at a restaraunt or 2? Shop?

Just crazy...china needs to step their game up! The whole world is black...if its not the color of their skin its the music or culture. And dancing is a way of life! Its expression and it should be admired not shunned.

So my grandpa once told me about how monasteries in the Middle Ages used to put silver spoons in their water jugs. He said that because of the antibacterial properties of silver, monks had lower incidents of bubonic plague during the Black Death.

Now I don't know if that's completely true or not (especially considering that monks used to go around delivering Last Rites), but the other day I was at JC Penney, & what do I see? A band-aid brand with SILVER in it!

Let’s talk fashion.... Let’s talk glamour! Webster's dictionary defines glamour as “an exciting and often illusory and romantic attractiveness that make certain people appealing or special." When you wear your clothes would you say that you are glamorous? Are you making your own statement, even if is not a trendy one? I say fashion is personalized and when we dress we should always look our best. Your clothes should always look fabulous on you, and whether or not you wear a size 2 or size 22 they should give your body the look that you want. It is all about creating the ‘illusion’. All of us were not born with the hips and backside of JLo or Beyonce, so we have to work with what we do have. My number one rule has and will always be that your under garments set the foundation before you even get dressed. Take your time, visit the department store and try these pieces on make sure they feel comfortable and are good quality. They will make or break that cocktail dress, that pair of jeans or that form fitting top. So it is important to pick a good quality bra with the right shape and coverage along with underwear and a good girdle with control. Then when you slip that dress on you will definitely see the difference! Always choose colors that flatter your complexion. I know I look smashing in fuchsia so it is always a great color for me to wear, but if your complexion is pale please don’t pick black choose a color that is a little softer, and if you are darker choose colors that are bold and get you noticed. And if you are still having problems you can never go wrong when you pay attention to what colors get you the most compliments. Beauty is, and always will be personal and individual. Don’t choose a fashion just because everyone else is wearing it; choose it because it looks smashing on you! When you look good, you feel good, your confidence will soar and that my lady, that makes you Glamorous!

Now, here’s the rest of what [a handbook on American customs] for foreign visitors says about

Now, here's the rest of what [a handbook on American customs] for foreign visitors says about how "we" shake hands--is this really how all of us shake hands?

When Americans shake hands, they normally exert a small amount of pressure on each others' hands, move their clasped hands a bit upwards, then a bit downwards, then release their grip. People from other places where handshaking is customary may hold the other person's hand more or less firmly than Americans do, sustaining contact for a shorter or a longer time than Americans. One's character in the U.S. is often assumed by the appropriateness of their handshake.

Obviously, African American men in particular have other ways of putting their hands together, and other racial groups do as well (though I'll admit, I don't know what forms the latter take). So this visitor's handbook may be explaining the "normal" American method, but it's really the "white" method.

[...]

What's more interesting, though, about differences in handshaking techniques is that if a white and a non-white person encounter each other in a casual setting and decide to clasp hands, there may be uncertainty about which handshaking method to use--the white one or a non-white one. When there is uncertainty about which to use, the fall-back is usually the standard handshake, that is, the method more likely to be used by the white person than by the non-white one. The non-white person often represses a preferred method of contact, and the white person feels little if any discomfort about being the enforcer of a standard.

I he

When I was a child - about five or six - something happened that left a vivid impression on me.

I heard the word "nigger" for the first time.

It wasn't the word that left such an impression (I didn't even know what it meant); rather, it was my father's reaction to it.

My dad used curse words at the man who said it. The other man yelled at my dad, and my dad yelled back at him. The other man was big and angry and mean. I was terrified that my dad was going to fight that bad man.

After that incident, my dad sat me down. He apologized for using bad words, and then he said that there were two kinds of words: bad words and evil words. And he said the word "nigger" was an evil word. He said he got so angry because it was wrong for that man to say such a hateful thing around children. He said that sometimes you had to stand up and say that something was wrong.

My father said that people who used that word meant that black people weren't human beings like other people, but were something less. He said that the most awful things that ever happened happened because people thought like that about other people who were different from them, and that he hoped that I would never be like those people.

I wonder what children who heard Jesse Jackson use the word the other day thought.

There was a discussion about it on The View, in which Whoopie Goldberg and the liberals on the program justified black people using the word. It's only wrong when white people use it.

Black people use it as a "term of endearment."

Is that the case?

I don't think so. There's nothing "dear" about the word, and there never has been. Hey, I'm calling you a sub-human beast of burden, but I really mean it in a really nice way.

For one thing, it perpetuates the use of both the word, and the content of the word. If you think that racist white people don't justify their use of the word with, "Black people use it all the time. They use it to talk about each other!" then you simply aren't living in the real world.

If black people want white people to stop using the "N-word," then they have to stop using the word themselves. Until that word is off-limits for everyone, it will continue to be fair game for everyone.

How many children - every single day - learn about racism by hearing that word for the very first time?

Thank God for my dad, who stood up and said, "Don't you dare use that word around my son!"

Elizabeth Hasslebeck literally cried because that word so upset her. It ought to upset everyone. Period.

Instead, when I googled "elizabeth hasslebeck" and "n-word" I saw the full hate and meanness of the left come out in all its vile ugliness. I discussed the viciousness of the left the other day in writing about the hatred expressed over the passing of Tony Snow. Viciousness is increasingly coming to characterize the left.

For a second thing, claiming that one group of people can use a word, and another group of people can't, is the quintessential example of a double-standard.

The double-standards that have been a constant element of "the civil rights movement" for years are a big part of why so many white people have become so embittered over the movement. Racial quotas. The N-word. The very anger over demands for personal responsibility that so enraged Jesse Jackson in the first place.

How on earth does anybody think that a reliance upon one double-standard after another is the path to racial harmony? It just isn't, and it never was.

Dr. Martin Luther KIng, Jr. said, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." But the civil rights leaders - such as Jesse Jackson - turned that statement on its head.

Don't you talk to us about the "content of our characters!" You had better never forget the color of our skins!" And you better give us stuff on the basis of the color of our skins!

How are poor whites supposed to feel when they are systematically denied equal opportunity in the very name of "equal opportunity"?

Dr. King's murder was a terrible thing. But the worst thing of all was that lesser men were able to hijack the civil rights movement and substitute their own ideas for his.

The third thing is that the use of the "N-word" itself becomes a political expression and an example of everything that is wrong with politics.

When Don Imus referred to "Nappy-headed hoes" he was attacked by the very "civil rights leaders" (including Jackson himself) who are now defending Jackson's use of the word.

When Republican Senator George Allen used the word "macaca" to describe a Democrat plant, he was literally driven out of politics. To this day, I have never been able to find out what that word actually means. It didn't matter. It could be construed to sound racist, and that was enough.

Now the same people who were so completely outraged over a conservative using the nonsensical word "macaca" are defending a liberal using the genuinely evil word "nigger." It is simply Kafkaesque.

If you want to say, "It's different because Jackson is a black man using a word about blacks!" then let me mention Barack Obama's use of "typical white person."

What we are seeing today is nothing less than selective outrage being employed as a political weapon.

And it's wrong. It's wrong because it makes genuine racism meaningless as politically-motivated pseudo-charges or racism drown out the real thing.

I am a conservative white male. And like the overwhelming majority of genuine conservatives, I would gladly support the candidacy of Dr. Condileeza Rice for president. She is - of course - both black and female.

I wouldn't vote for her "because she's black"; rather I would vote for her because she has the experience, the judgment, the competence, the character, the values, and the policies to be our president.

I do not support Barack Obama. And I refuse to support him not "because he's black"; rather, I won't vote for him because he doesn't have the experience, the judgment, the competence, the character, the values, and the policies to be our president.

Jesse Jackson used the "N-word" because he thinks entirely in racial (and I would argue racist) terms. One of the worst examples of racism is the continuous use of terms like "Uncle Tom" and "race traitor" to describe prominent black leaders such as Condileeza Rice, Colin Powell, and Clarence Thomas.

As far as many in the "civil rights movement" are concerned, unless you are "our kind of black," they feel entirely free to call you "a house nigger."

That's exactly what Jesse Jackson was doing. Barack Obama wasn't being "his" kind of black.

They are the real racists, because they can only think in purely racial terms, and they see racism in everyone but themselves. And it's truly sad that such people have somehow been able to put themselves in charge over who gets to branded as a "racist" and who doesn't.

One black intellectual spoke of bargainers and challengers in the black community. The first group is willing to give whites and white society the benefit of the doubt, and work with them to try to create a better society. The second group (and Jesse Jackson is in this group) holds that whites and white society should be regarded as racist until they prove they are not.

But Jesse Jackson himself once said that crime was such a problem in the black community that when he saw a group of young black men he automatically looked around and found himself reassured by the presence of white people. Given the black crime rate, why shouldn't I assume that blacks aren't criminals and "thugs" (as Barack Obama's NEW pastor himself put it) until they prove otherwise?

Because that's not the way my dad taught me how to regard people, is why. That view doesn't lead to peace and harmony, but suspicion and mistrust.

Anyone who has read even one of my articles about Barack Obama knows that I am not an Obama supporter. But on this issue, Barack Obama is clearly right, and Jesse Jackson - who has been the paradigmatic "civil rights leader" for a generation now - should now stand revealed for just how terribly wrong he is and always has been.

I dream of a day when Dr. King's dream comes true. That's why I have always been an opponent of Jesse Jackson.

It wouldn't matter if you were yellow or blue.

Whether you're black or white, we're all equal.

We're good friends and different colours.

"lets go shoppin"

NO ENTRANCE FOR COLOURS!

Thats unfair we're all the same.

Whether you're black or white, it shouldn't matter.

We're all equal, lets walk together.

Reason: I wrote this because people all over the world commit suicide or are murdered because of where they are from, the colour of their skin, their nationality, their religion or even because of what they look like. Everyone has feelings and everyone has the right to live. We shouldn't have to put up with discrimination because of what we look like or what background we have. We are all special and we are all equal. My advice is; Treat someone how you would want to be treated!
