10. Final Fantasy VII

What's this? The overrated RPG that too many people love for the wrong reasons barely made the list? That's right. Final Fantasy VII is a great game and one of the best RPGs ever made, but it's not nearly as amazing as many declare it to be. When I first played Final Fantasy VII, I wasn't that familiar with RPGs. I was still just a casual gamer at the time and was only accustomed to games such as Crash Bandicoot, MegaMan X, and other action games. It was a nice change a pace for me. Unfortunately, I only played a demo of the game. It wasn't until years later that I bought myself a copy and played through it. I liked this game for its somewhat interesting plot, stylish character design, and memorable soundtrack. There wasn't really any challenge in the game's battle system. Just repeatedly select 'Attack' and heal your party when it's low on health. Then use summons against bosses. It was still fun for the most part.

9. Digimon World

I sort of liked the first season of the Digimon cartoon. I wasn't crazy about it, but I did occasionally watch it. One day, I noticed Digimon World at a local video store and decided to rent it on a whim. To my surprise the game wasn't based on the show in any way besides the actual Digimon. Fortunately, this fact offered a much more pleasing experience. The main objective of Digimon World is to have all of the Digimon return to the main town in order to maintain balance...or something. By "all of the Digimon" I mean the ones that are not nameless enemies sprawled throughout the game. You must persuade these Digimon to return to the town. Which gives the main character (the only human in the game) a resemblance to Hitler. Forcing his "partner" Digimon to train rigorously, ingest ability enhancing drugs, and muscle around the innocent and force them to join him and his cause. Which brings about another major aspect of the game: raising Digimon. Feed it, train it, make sure it doesn't crap all over the place, and command it in battles. It's a busy job, but it's worth the effort. You'll most likely grow attached to the little guy, making his eventual death a sad sight. It's all good, though. If you treat him well, he'll reincarnate with better stats. Overall, this is a very addictive game with a fairly deep monster raising system. It takes quite some time to accomplish the main story and even longer to complete all of the side-quests. I recommend anyone who owns a PlayStation or PS2 to at least give this game a try. I don't know about the sequels, though...

8. Resident Evil 2

I enjoyed the first Resident Evil despite the vomit-inducing acting. It wasn't until years later that I played the sequel at a friend's house. Of course, I had my own copy at some point, but I beat the game at said friend's house. I found this sequel was much more climactic than the original mainly due to the fact that the first game focused on a few people running around a mansion which just blew up in the end. Whereas Resident Evil 2 has Leon, the protagonist, running around a city and fighting off zombies all on his own. Sure there were some supporting characters, but they didn't really do anything besides advance the plot. There's also another playable character, but I doubt anyone cares about her. Resident Evil 2 has a good balance of puzzle solving and enemy encounters. There wasn't too much backtracking either. Regardless, it's a classic and many still consider it the best of the series. I'm more of a Resident Evil 4 man myself, but 2 is still great.

7. Monster Rancher 2

My younger days revolved around Saturday morning cartoons, and Monster Rancher was one of my favorite shows. At the time, I wasn't aware that the show was loosely based off of a video game. I think I saw an advertisement for Monster Rancher 2 at some point before its release and this aided in my decision to pre-order a copy, which was a first for me. I eagerly awaited it's arrival and I ran home every day after school to check my mail. When the game finally made its way to my home, I was ecstatic upon ripping apart the packaging and inserting the game disc into the console. I played it nonstop throughout the night. Fortunately for me, it was a Friday and I didn't have to wake up early or go anywhere. These monster raising games are always addictive. There are so many monsters to raise, some places to explore, tournaments, and all that good stuff. I still occasionally pop the game in my PS2 and play a few tournaments or raise a new monster. The series continues onto PS2, but those games are not worth playing excluding Monster Rancher 4. That one is pretty good.

6. Guardian's Crusade

As I recall, I came across Guardian's Crusade after a friend of mine either rented or bought it. I haven't played this game in many years and I don't really remember why I liked it so much. I just fancy its almost generic style, almost clichéd storyline, and almost bland battle system. I think. Just go play it for yourself and you'll understand.

5. Metal Gear Solid

You saw this one coming, right? I bet you didn't expect it to be in the middle of the list rather than the top. That suggests that the upcoming games must be goddamn incredible! Well, maybe not to others, but they are for me. Metal Gear Solid may be the best PlayStation game of all time, but it's not my favorite...it's apparently my fifth favorite. Anyway, great story, characters, game play, music, etcetera. If you're not already familiar with what makes Metal Gear Solid and it's sequels the critically acclaimed series that it is, then you need to stop what you're doing and go buy these games.

4. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver

The Legacy of Kain series; a compelling storyline, fantastic direction, and first rate voice work. I believe that this 'legacy' rivals the Metal Gear Solid series in terms of quality storytelling. Soul Reaver may be my favorite installment of the series. The lead character, Raziel, literally goes through hell and back in the events of this game. Soul Reaver's overall design is really what won me over. Besides the plot and style of the game, I loved the idea of a material realm and a spectral realm. Sure, A Link to the Past had a Light World and a Dark World, but it was pretty shallow when it came puzzle solving. In Soul Reaver, switching from the material realm to the spectral realm would twist and distort the world around you. If a platform or something was out of your reach within the material realm then you could simply shift to the spectral realm causing the platform to lower. Although, you can't switch between realms on the fly. Moving into the spectral realm can be done at any time, but a special portal-like thing is used to return to the material realm. All of this made the puzzle solving and even combat more interesting. It's solid game play in my book. Then there's the amazing soundtrack. It always enhances the game's ambiance and it can even be really epic at times. There's not much else to say concerning the music. The musical score is just outstanding and the voice acting is on the same level. Each character has a unique and well portrayed voice, even the random unimportant people sound good. Personally, I wouldn't mind having Michael Bell's voice (the voice of Raziel). Even though Soul Reaver is part of an ongoing series, I can easily see it as a standalone game.

3. MegaMan Legends 2

A charmingly fun game. I enjoyed MegaMan Legends, but it was a bit too claustrophobic for my tastes. MegaMan Legends 2 is a fine example of how a sequel should be. It takes what was great about the original, improves it, and then expands on that. It's a shame that the young man who voiced MegaMan in the first game didn't return, but the woman who replaced him still did a good job. It just bothers me when characters' voices change regardless if it's for better or worse. That and MegaMan is teenage boy not a boyish girl. Enough of that. Legends 2 is just great. It's fun, entertaining, and quirky. I even find myself going back to this game from time to time.

2. The Misadventures of Tron Bonne

A MegaMan Legends spin-off that seems to take place before the first MegaMan Legends. I almost crapped my pants out of sheer glee when I learned of this game's existence. During my first play through of Legends, I thought it would be all kinds of awesome if there were a game focused on the Bonne family. Yes, the lovable air pirates with Team Rocket Syndrome. As well as the incredibly popular and too cute for comfort Servbots. In victory or defeat, it's always fun to watch their crazy antics. Characters aside, Tron Bonne is still a pretty damn good game. You go around robbing banks, abducting farm animals, exploring caves for treasure, gambling, stealing shipments of food, torturing Servbots, among many other things. It's good, old fashioned fun.

1. The Legend of Dragoon

One of my favorite games of all time. Presentation, story, characters, game play, visuals, music. Everything is incredible. I believe The Legend of Dragoon to be the greatest of all RPGs. It may not be perfect, but it's so damn great that it doesn't matter. Spanned across four discs, it's a pretty massive game. The story is at an average length as far as RPGs go. What gives it a lot of staying power is its battle system. Personally, I find most turn based games to be boring (there are a few exceptions such as EarthBound), but this game's combo system is fun. It can be repetitive at times, but it's usually fun for the most part. Then there's the plot with its interesting character development, twisting storyline, and overall epicness (not a word). This isn't really that great of a summary. I don't care. I'm tired. The Legend of Dragoon is awesome. End of story.

Avec ce succès, le troisième à l'extérieur de la saison, les hommes de Claude Puel, qui ne s'étaient plus imposés chez leurs voisins depuis février 2001 (0-1), grimpent à la 11e place avec cinq points d'avance sur Sochaux, premier relégable. Et prennent une revanche après leur élimination en Coupe de la Ligue à Amiens contre cette même équipe (0-1).

Lens (33 pts), qui court après un succès en L1 depuis un mois, reste, lui, aux portes de la zone de relégation avec toujours le même petit avantage sur Sochaux et Paris (31 pts). Les Lensois n'ont plus gagné à domicile depuis Lyon (3-0) le 20 janvier et doivent absolument se reprendre dimanche contre Marseille.

"C'est une claque", a admis l'entraîneur Jean-Pierre Papin, satisfait du contenu de son équipe qui a eu, selon lui, le tort de compliquer son jeu, d'avoir voulu "inventer des gestes" pour marquer des buts. "C'est dommage parce qu'il y avait la place pour faire quelque chose", a-t-il estimé.

Les absences des Belhadj, Rémy ou Maoulida, non qualifiés, ont pesé dans le liant du jeu des "Sang et or", gênés peut-être par le vent de face.

L'activité de Monterrubio, les raids de Dindane ou de Boukari n'ont guère inquiété des Lillois bien en place, autour d'un solide Rami. Vent dans le dos, les Lensois ont poussé. Seulement comme Dindane (79) ou Mangane (80), ils se sont compliqués la tâche avant de céder devant Béria (83), qui a inscrit son premier but en L1. La tête lobée de Hilton (86) ne pouvait plus rien changer.

Ce dernier frère d'un jeune homme handicapé a décidé de réunir ses amis tels, Karim Benzema joueur de l'équipe de Lyon ainsi que Frédérique Piquionne de l'AS Monaco.

Du beau jeu en perspective donc surtout que la convivialité et l'esprit sportif devraient régner devant le nombreux public attendu sur le stade.
