This diet, if you don't already know manipulates your metabolism through the combination of specific foods. Carbohydrate cycling or carb cycling on the other hand varies the amount of carbohydrates that you eat from day to day to maximize your weight loss. The only difference between these two concepts is that the calorie shifting diet takes into consideration the fat and protein cycling along with the carb cycling. They both help you burn fat though.

The Atkins diet that was very popular a while back that requires that you eat no calories actually does not work and actually makes you more susceptible to weight gain, just in case you were thinking that you were suppose to stay away from carbs. so I now officially named my weblog as "iBlog". OK, I got reasons for it

Well a few days back Common profiency test's result had not came out and getting 129 marks in it left me with two choices -

1. Forget the result continue with my b.com(3 years) and do a MBA (2 years more) afterwords. So finally  - B.com + MBA (just like every other commerce guy)
2. Start doing Chartered accountancy, pass both the exams (3 and a half years) and do MBA(2 years). after that.So finally C.A. + MBA (it really means a great thing)

So I choose the second one............

NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB

The Applied Physics and Biophysics (AP) Division within the Physical Sciences Directorate has an opening for a quantitative veterinary epidemiologist. The successful candidate will focus on epidemiological modeling using a variety of mathematical constructs to simulate infectious disease propagation and will evaluate the effectiveness of interventional countermeasures. Special emphasis will be given to the analysis of biodetection systems, their effectiveness, and the development of optimal requirements for next generation detection systems. Several projects will be supported in this regard including the DHS multiscale epidemiological simulation modeling and decision support system (MESA), the agro-security domestic demonstration and application program, and systems studies. The candidate also will support the Biodefense Knowledge Center (BKC) in threat assessment activities, including reach-back activities for the Department of Homeland Security. This position will report to the Chief Veterinary Scientist in the AP Division.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

- Provide guidance and direction to a multidisciplinary team of scientist and analysts.

- Provide epidemiological analytic support to multiple ongoing projects within the AP Division, the BKC and NHI.

- Develop, modify and use epidemic simulation models.

- Design and oversee modeling and surveillance research projects.

- Develop new ideas and proposals for development of medical technologies.

- Provide guidance and direction to a multidisciplinary team of scientists and analysts.

- Collaborate with government and university partners on development of new research projects.

- Disseminate research results in peer-reviewed publications and at scientific conferences.

- Manage budget and schedule as required.

- Ensure all assignments are performed in accordance with ES&H, Security, and business practice requirements and policies.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

- MS or MPVM in preventative medicine, epidemiology or a related field or an equivalent level of demonstrated knowledge.

- Advanced analytical and computational skills in data acquisition, data manipulation and statistical analysis.

- Experience with evaluating surveillance strategies for select agents, such as smallpox, anthrax, foot-and-mouth disease or classical swine fever.

- Experience developing epidemic simulation models and interpreting and presenting results.

- Experience leading large interdisciplinary research groups and multiple projects.

- Demonstrated technical leadership and strategic planning skills in a high-technology research and development environment.

- Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills necessary to independently solve problems and make appropriate decisions.

- Experience working with short deadlines.

- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills necessary to author and present technical and scientific reports.

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

- PhD in preventative medicine, epidemiology  or a related field.

- Doctorate in veterinary medicine (DVM).

I arrived Thursday and left early Monday morning.  It was a brief but fun trip.  We went to Fresno, CA to visit family I hadn't seen in 2 yrs, went swimming, hung out with our Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins, spent the night and then headed back to Karen's for a surprise Premier Training Show...which was the real reason I was there.  Karen's hubby signed her up for Premier Designs and Karen's friend, Jenn, set the whole show up without Karen knowing.  It was awesome!!!  Karen is definitely off to a great start with her new jewelry business!!

I was sick the whole time and almost completely lost my voice, but it was worth the surprise and seeing my sis, her friends, family and my adorable nephews!
