<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Call of Duty: World at War will introduce co-operative play, bringing fresh meaning to the “No One Fights Alone” mantra of Call of Duty with up to four players on line for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC gaming! This will also allow two-player local split-screen on consoles.</p>
<p>Ok so you might now be asking wtf is co-op mode?</p>
<p>You know how when you have played a game all the way through and kicked some A.I. back side all over the map, the game tends to get dull. Most of us try to crank up the intensity and play the whole thing again. It's still enjoyable but it is missing something. What Co-Op is going to do for the first time ever is allow upto four players to experience single-player missions together for greater game play and tactical execution.</p>
<p>Want to rank up fast? You guessed it. The co-op campaign allows players to rank up and unlock perks in competitive multiplayer by completing challenges and earning experience points, adding continuous re-playability and team-based game-play. Whether playing competitively or cooperatively – if players are on line with Call of Duty: World at War – they will <strong>always</strong> gain experience points.</p>
<p>Another kicker here is that the game engine will base the intensity of the game on a player’s experience rank and the rank of the player’s friends. Call of Duty: World at War will scale dynamically to provide a deeper level of challenge and more intense combat for all involved.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ok here is the latest from the creators of Call of Duty: World at War.</p>
<p>At current they have been focusing on the 360 platform Beta's. The reality is that the 360 provides more players and users than the PC platform. That's not opinion, it's fact. From a sales perspective it makes more sense to kiss the back side of those who stand to make the majority of your money for you in the beginning and that is why they are targeting the 360 gamers first.</p>
<p>Does this mean that they are not going to be paying as much attention to the PC version of the World at War release? The answer to that is a resounding no. The designers and programmers behind the game are all PC gamers, and proclaim that they always will be. So is the Associate Producer, Multiplayer Design Director, PC Director, and the entire team of engineers on the PC team.</p>
<p>Currently the 360 BETA is released and running wild. This will allow them a little more time tweaking and ironing out wrinkles on the game.</p>
<p>Rest assured at this point in time forward the bulk of the news coming out from now on will be about the PC BETA.</p>
<p>When will the PC gaming community be able to get the Beta of World at War? I bet you can guess the answer to this one. The PC BETA will be released SOON!</p>
<p>More info on when and how it will be released will be made available next week.</p>
<p>The Beta is promised to be one worth waiting for according to the guys behind the game. You have no idea what is in store for the PC folks. In the end they don't want to hear anyone say they have shunned the PC community. They continue to say "Wait until you've seen what we've done for it."</p>
<p>I can say you will be impressed when you see the mapping, modding, new PC features, servers, and general PC support. We will reserve the right however to pass judgment on how we've been treated as PC gaming fans after the Beta is in our hands.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Sunday night i got my token for the new Call of duty: world at war beta that there handing out.  the beta was over 800 megs in size, downloaded pretty quick for a beta.   The way I got my invite was that i was a member of the old <a href="http://www.charlieoscardelta.com" target="_blank">charlieoscardelta.com</a> site and have been a member ever since, I'm ranked Captain on the site.  Anyways I didn't have to pay anything to get it like most of the people that are getting this code by pre-ordering the game.  I was a previous beta tester of COD 4 and that beta was badass!  My initial impressions are that it plays allot like COD4 in fact i would say this is a re-skinned mod.  This is not to say that it is a bad thing as COD4 is a phenominal game in itself and here they are trying to keep that going.  I played a few rounds and quickly ranked up to level 5  the beta is capped at 11 so hopefully they will increase the level like they did in the last beta as i desperatly want to try out the Garrand which is unlocked at level 17.  From what I could tell they bumped up the total levels to 65 up from 55 in COD4.  I'm off to go play some more and i will be back to give further impressions!</p>

Kürzlich sind erste Screenshots zur Wii-Version der neuen James Bond Versoftung aus dem Hause Activision aufgetaucht und sie erinnern eher an PSone oder N64 Zeiten, als an Current-Gen Kost. Die Tatsache, dass das Game auf der Call of Duty 4 Engine basiert, scheint vollkommen unmerklich zu sein.<br />
Schade, wenn man bedenkt, dass Nintendo zum Wii-Launch Grafik versprochen hat, die Xbox1 Verhältnisse übersteigt. Bisher habe ich sowas noch nicht gesehen. Weder First-Party Games, noch Third-Party Titel haben dieses Ziel erreicht.</p>

All I want to know is when I am going to get to play that beta. I've watched the video's, two or three times each. I've read about the perks and new (or old i guess) weapon attachments. All there is left to do is play. There are posts all over linking to different gamertags that are playing either the game or the beta. I believe in the World at War beta.... Do you?</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Through my life there are many things that I have learned about myself. What works and what doesn't. What I like and what I don't like. What I can handle and what I can't. An important lesson that I've realized quickly is realizing the differences in slight addiction to full out dangerous addiction/obsession.<br />
I use to smoke cigarettes. I haven't in 3 years and I don't plan to start again. I quit without the use of the patch or nicorette gum (that's another discussion for later). The longest time before the 3 years was 9 months. The first time I cracked under pressure, I figured 9 months was long enough. I thought to myself that I can easily have 1 square and that's it. It obvious cause I haven't done it in 9 months. So I lit up that one temptation of a cigarette and pretty much destroyed all those months of hard quitting. Because don't kid yourself, it's very very VERY hard to quit. I don't care if it's with the patch, gum, chewing straws, or straight will power. It's difficult to quit. I pretty much made up 9 months of smoking in 2 months and I was back to square one.<br />
So I realized "no", I can't be a social smoker. I can't just have one when I drink or at social events. I can't have one period. Do I want one? Hell yes! There's not a day that goes by that I don't want one and that craving will never stop.<br />
All that leads into my new addiction that is destroying my life and yes, it is destroying my life. It's not easy to say cause you never think that something you do for "fun" is that powerful that it can single handedly ruin your life and how you live. But the online game Call of Duty has such a strangle hold on me that I have to quit. I can't play on the weekends. I can't play just for an hour. I can't play, period. "Is it that bad" you're probably asking? Yes, it is, and I don't want to admit that. It's so much fun and I'm really good at it. But let me tell you why it's so destructive.<br />
For those of you new to online gameplay or video games in general, here's the skinny. If you're addicted to video games, there's no such thing as a quick game. I've sat down with full intentions of playing only 30 minutes and have ended up playing for easily 3 hours. All the mean while I've let the important issues in life that I need to do pushed to the side.<br />
I have the biggest transition in my life right now. I might be signing to a small record label and I have to work. I have to be deducted and I have to be motivated to be at the top of my game. This means constantly practicing, writing, rehearsing, and being creatively fueled. Well Call of Duty helps me with none of that. It takes away from precious pratice time, doesn't stir up creativity, and it doesn't bring me at peace. It's funny cause I play for fun, but the more I look at myself from the outside looking in I realized that I yell alot, I'm very irritable to be around, my blood pressure goes through the roof and I don't get the proper amount of sleep. Being as busy as I am going to be I need my sleep and I need a calm level head.<br />
So this is the day. I don't remember dates of times I quit things cause I think that's irrelevant. I don't wait till "New Years" to make a decision. No! That's just stalling to make a decision that you really don't want to do. You have to want to make that decision and you don't have to do it based on a day or date or particilular event to happen. You just have to quit and be dedicated to it cause you know how better your life will be without it. And my life will be better. </p>

Kämpa dig genom slaget om Normandie och upplev de mest förödande fältslagen under andra världskriget. Call of Duty 3 ger dig nya stridshandlingar, omgivningar som kan förstöras, och fordonsbaserat multiplayerspel online. Du kommer uppleva den mest filmliknande och intensiva stridsupplevelsen någonsin.</p>

<p><strong>Mumintrollet tycker att spelet var:</strong><br />
Roligt om man gillar krigsspel  i first person view (och jag insåg nu att jag tillhör dom som gillar det), generellt som var det ett spel som var kul att spela och spelglädjen å spelkänslan fanns där, dock så hade spelet diverse buggar som man kunde börja skratta åt ibland, men inga större problem som påverkar spelandet i sig, online delen i spelet har jag dock inte hunnit testa på ännu så kan inte komma med någon åsikt om det ännu. Vet att Call of Duty 4-5 finns till PC, men har inte testat på dessa (är inte så förtjust i att sitta vid en dator och spela) men vem vet kanske testar jag på dessa med någon gång... Hmm, vad har jag mer att säga? Jo tyckte det var så tråkigt att man inte kan kolla typ statistik över sitt egna spelandet i det här spelet, det saknade jag eftersom jag är en sån person som gillar att läsa över mina statistik under spelets gång, men annars så har jag nog inget mer att tillägga om spelet.</p>
<p><strong>Slutbetyg:</strong> Det blir 3 Mumintroll av 5 möjliga, så spelet var godkänt av mig.</p>

<p>Ora capisco cosa voglia dire giocare online. Sono letteralmente mangiato dal multiplayer Live di <em><strong>Call of Duty 3</strong></em>. La serie di <em>Infinity Ward</em> è una fissa di mio fratello, che ne divora puntualmente ogni singolo episodio. Ma io ho giochicchiato solo il primo e il secondo capitolo su Pc, mentre il terzo l'ho comprato con la <strong><em>Xbox 360</em></strong> a prezzo stracciato proprio perchè sapevo che lui  avrebbe apprezzato. Poi abbiamo collegato la console al router ed è stata la fine. Ci ho preso gusto e ora mi potrete trovate nella diga di Eder a macinare pischelli americani con il fucile di precisione. E io che snobbavo l'online!</p>

<p><strong>Go! Go! Go!! - </strong>Call of Duty - objawienie rynkowe roku 2003 na PC. Niedawno, seria doczekała się czwartej odsłony, która powróciła na PC po krótkim „skoku w bok" w postaci części trzeciej. Teraz jednak skupmy się na swoistym „back to school", czyli odsłonie na PSP. Podczas gdy oczy wszystkich graczy zebrane były na niedalekiej przyszłości i konflikcie z terrorystami, na handheldzie Sony, twórcy zdecydowali się powrócić na najsłynniejsze pola bitew Drugiej Wojny Światowej. "Nie umarło, co zasnęło przed wiekami...", jednak czy wciąż jest równie dobre...?<!--more--></p>
<p><strong>„War... war never changes..." </strong>- Kampania shootera jest podzielona na 3 części - amerykańską, kanadyjską i brytyjską. W każdej z nich wcielamy się w innego żołnierza - "zwykłego, szarego Supermena", którym wyrzynamy w pień setki nazistów. Towarzysząc naszemu nad-wojakowi, uczestniczymy w operacjach Market Garden (buuuuu!), Avalanche, czy Blockbuster. Przed każdą misją, zainteresowani będą mogli poczytać "notatki" żołnierskie wystylizowane na autentyczne, a przy rozpoczęciu każdej kampanii, autorzy raczą nas oryginalnym filmem dokumentalnym z właściwego jej fragmentu wojny. Zaraz obejrzeniu pierwszego z nich czeka nas prawdziwe piekło...</p>
<p>Po krótkim (aczkolwiek zapoznającym nas jedynie z podstawową klawiszologią) samouczku, typowo dla serii - rozpoczyna się niespodziewany atak nieprzyjaciela na bazę. Zapewne pierwsze minuty rozgrywki każdemu zapadną w pamięci na długo, niestety - głównie przez morderczą, pełną poświęcenia walkę z morderczym... interfejsem. Wielka szkoda, że twórcy nie dali nam możliwości dowolnego zdefiniowania klawiszologii, jednak sądzę, że spośród kilku, uprzednio przez nich przygotowanych profili, każdy powinien znaleźć coś dla siebie. Na szczęście, arcy-niewygodne sterowanie z użyciem jednej niewielkiej gałki analogowej, po pewnym czasie przyzwyczaja do niewygód i z jego użyciem gra się całkiem nieźle. Kwestią sporną pozostaje auto-celowanie. Niby rozgrywka z jego użyciem staje się dość łatwa (mimo to nie liczcie na zbytnie fory), jednak za nic nie chciałbym grać na poziomie innym niż „łatwy" bez tego rodzaju wsparcia. Po prostu postać obraca się byt wolno, by móc efektywnie przeć do przodu.</p>

<p>Czas przejść do sprawy, która od zawsze była zarówno najmocniejszą stroną, jak i piętą achillesową Call of Duty. Mowa oczywiście o skryptach. Cóż, w tej materii nic nie uległo zmianom: dalej pole bitwy robi piorunujące wrażenie, dalej wszystko zdaje się być dla gracza niesamowicie realne i niemal wyczuwalne i dalej... Dalej to jest już tylko gorzej. Po pewnym czasie bowiem, zaczynamy zauważać że to, kto ginie w danym momencie jest z góry założone, oraz że eksplozje towarzyszące bombardowaniom, to jedynie ładny element zdobniczy (ile to razy bomba spadała centralnie na mojego żołnierzynę, nie czyniąc mu przy tym najmniejszej szkody...?). Irytują też pociski, które zdają się lecieć w ściśle określonym przez NPC kierunku. Historia zna skrajne przypadki, gdy jakiś niemiaszek stojąc do mnie tyłem, wesoło nawalał w moją stronę, najwyraźniej strzelając sobie przez klatkę piersiową. Przy takich rewelacjach nikogo nie zdziwi już chyba wieść o niebywałej zdolności, jaką w grze nabyli żołnierze obu stron, mianowicie o podkręcaniu wystrzeliwanych kul (nawet o 90 stopni!). Liniowość w CoD jest obecna na każdym kroku i to niestety widać.</p>
<p>Opisywana przeze mnie produkcja ma dość specyficzny poziom trudności. Otóż - idziemy sobie, beztrosko piorąc tyłki niemieckim żołnierzom, oglądając ornamenty w stylu „Adolf", aż tu nagle - JEBUDU!! - nie żyjesz. Najwięcej trudności na dalszych poziomach, sprawiają bez wątpienia granaty, w które jest zaopatrzony każdy z wrogów. I choć gra informuje nas o położeniu niechcianego przedmiotu, gdy ten zostanie rzucony, to i tak człowiek od czasu do czasu po prostu gubi się i ginie, rozpaczliwie użerając się z - zawodną w nagłych wypadkach gałką. W naszych rękach także zagości nieraz granat, a dzięki zerowej niemal zdolności wroga do unikania, tudzież odrzucania ich, sytuacja ta kończy się zazwyczaj ich masową eksterminacją. Co jak co - ale AI nie jest mocną stroną tej produkcji...</p>
<p><strong>Do czołgu? - </strong>Muszę przyznać, że - pod względem ilości pojazdów, którymi dane mi było pokierować, gra mnie rozczarowała. Nie uświadczymy urozmaicenia w postaci misji, w których jedziemy Jeepem prowadzonym przez kompana, a sami grzejemy do innych z karabinu stacjonarnego. Jedyną tego typu odskocznią jest misja, w której obsługujemy działa słynnej „fortecy powietrznej", bombowca B-17. Wielka szkoda, że jest to pojedynczy wyskok - grafika w niej zawarta, zrobiła na mnie kolosalne wrażenie. Wszędzie widoczna jest poświata odbijanego słońca, tak typowa dla najnowszych rozwiązań, chmury w tle sprawiają niemal wrażenie prawdziwych. No i te eksplozje... W zasadzie, wydaje mi się że oprawa wideo w tym epizodzie, stoi co najmniej o klasę wyżej, niż ta z pozostałych misji.</p>

<p><strong>Pain in back - </strong>Twórcy w kanonadzie potknięć i niedoróbek, nie ustrzegli się chyba najpoważniejszej, dotyczącej kontynuowania „napoczętej" rozgrywki. O ile brak save'a w dowolnym momencie w pełni rozumiem, o tyle kretyński system checkpointów na zawsze pozostanie dla mnie zagadką. Wyobraźcie sobie taką sytuację - gracie sobie i gracie, jesteście już kawał drogi od początku misji, jednak nagle zachciewa się Wam posłuchać na swym PSP muzyki. Wychodzicie więc do menu startowego systemu, odpalacie grajka powróciwszy po pewnym czasie do zabawy, ku swojemu zdziwieniu, odkrywacie, że macie jedynie możliwość wyboru ostatniego zadania. Nie wiem kto wpadł na pomysł, by możliwość kontynuacji gry od ostatniego autozapisu dotyczyła jedynie sytuacji „pośmiertnej", jednak niewątpliwie należy pogratulować mu ciężkiej głupoty.</p>
<p>Do niewątpliwych zalet gry, należy z pewnością oprawa wideo. Chociaż w gorętszych momentach animacji zdarza się porządnie chrupnąć, to i tak wrażenie robi mnogość efektów. Wybuchy, rozbłyski, kurz... niemal wszystkie elementy zostały wykonane wzorowo. Doskonale wyglądają też ludzie - posiadają właściwe proporcje, a ich twarze robią wrażenie ilością detali. Jako - tako jest natomiast z niektórymi teksturami - zdarzały się rozmazańce (choć w większości są to ostre jak brzytwa żylety). Wszelka broń, jaką nasz wojak będzie miał możliwość uchwycić, została wykonana naprawdę szczegółowo i nie można mieć w tej materii żadnych zastrzeżeń do pracy wykonanej przez grafików. Oprawa wideo trzyma w „Call of Duty: Roads to Victory" naprawdę wysoki poziom.</p>

<p><strong>"Nasze dzwony brzmiały dostojnie" -</strong> Trzeba powiedzieć, że oprawa audio w najmniejszym stopniu nie ustępuje grafice. I chociaż muzyka jako - taka, pojawia się w misjach sporadycznie (zawsze w bardziej dramatycznych momentach), to zrywa wówczas czapkę razem z głową. Przepiękne utwory, wykonane przez orkiestrę nie pozostawiają cienia wątpliwości - ktoś się do tego przyłożył. Bębny - typowo wojenne instrumenty, występują tu nader często, choć czasem ustępują miejsca niekoronowanemu królowi budowania napięcia, smyczkom. W każdym razie, za samą muzykę, należy się grze owacja na stojąco. Nieco gorzej jest za to w przypadku odgłosów - wszystko „odzywa się" tak, jak powinno. Oprócz ludzi. To znaczy - co do doboru głosów i samego voice actingu nie można mieć zastrzeżeń. Wrogowie po prostu za często się powtarzają. Można uznać to za błahostkę, jednak obawiam się że jedynie do czasu, gdy czekając w ukryciu na odpowiedni moment do szturmu, samemu nie doświadczy się kilkukrotnego powtórzenia niemieckiej kwestii... Jest to z pewnością zależne jedynie od "maszyny losującej", jednak niewątpliwie ten element można było bardziej dopracować.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"> </span></p>
<p><strong>„This is madness..." - </strong>O grywalności w serii CoD mówić dość trudno, gdyż w grubo ponad połowie, stanowi o niej jej zawiesisty, gęsty klimat. I choć starsze odsłony dziś, z powodu przestarzałości skryptów robią już mniejsze wrażenie, to oddajmy cesarzowi, co cesarskie. Przenośna konsola, w której trwa regularna wojna... to MUSI robić wrażenie. Co prawda, kiepski interfejs nie pozwala w pełni cieszyć się doznaniami, a AI wrogów budzi często jedynie uśmiech politowania. Nie zmienia to faktu że do grania bynajmniej nie przymuszałem się i zapewniam że Wy też nie będziecie musieli tego robić. Przez kampanię idzie się spokojnym, miarowym tempem - jest po prostu przyjemnie (pomijając powtykane tu i ówdzie, frustrujące fragmenty). Grywalność utrzymuje się tu na stałym, dość dobrym poziomie. Oczywiście - nie jest to najciekawsza rozgrywka, jakiej dane mi było doświadczyć na PSP, jednak obgryzać konsoli nikt nie powinien. No, ewentualnie w ostatniej misji, gdzie system checkpointów jest już wybitnie skopany...</p>

<p>Nie warto owijać w bawełnę - „Roads to Victory" nie jest największym osiągnięciem w serii. Co więcej, przy wysokim poziomie jaki reprezentuje cykl, można stwierdzić, że jest wręcz kazirodczym wybrykiem programistów. Nie oznacza to jednak, że jest grą złą, czy niewartą uwagi. Po prostu twórcy dość nieumiejętnie podeszli do „małej" platformy i - pomimo świetnej oprawy a/v i nieźle zaprojektowanych poziomów, wiele elementów kuleje, nie pozwalając w pełni cieszyć się eksterminacją nazistów. Brak możliwości dowolnej konfiguracji interfejsu, checkpointy których nie można wczytać po wyjściu do menu głównego - to jedynie najpoważniejsze z długiej listy niewygód, na jakie panowie z Amaze Entertainment nas skazali...</p>

<p>Over at <a href="http://www.jjrs.org/news/?p=46">JJRS</a>, they posted an interesting video with rapper "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice-T">Ice-T</a>".  Ice-T is apparently an avid player on the hit game "<a href="http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Call_of_Duty_4:_Modern_Warfare">Call of Duty: Modern Combat</a>" aka COD4. In this video, Ice-T goes on to say if you see his Gamertag, <a href="http://live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/profile.aspx?GamerTag=Lord%20187x">Lord20187x</a> , "Nigga your dead!" Personally I think this is downright awesome that someone like Ice-T says he is gonna own my ass. After Call of Duty 4's incredible success, as a modern war game,    one would wonder why Treyarch has chosen to bring the series back  to World War II. It's pretty clear that a huge portion of first person shooters are based during World War II, and the Call of Duty series is no exception making Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was a breath of fresh air. Now that it's almost time for Call of Duty 5, do we really need another WWII game? Haven't the last handful of COD games been enough for WWII fans? Call of Duty is not the only series that releases WWII games: piles and piles of them are released by EA, for their Medal of Honor series. I guess the fact that COD5 is based on the Pacific front, instead of Europe does separate it from earlier COD games, despite the fact that EA already released MOH: Pacific Front. Going back to WWII is an interesting move on behalf of Treyarch, despite Modern Warfare's success. But it doesn't matter: I still want to get my hands on the awesome looking Call of Duty 5.</p>
