For those of you who don't already know, I'm Cosmodaddy because I'm the daddy of a two year old kitty named Cosmo. And I just bumped into the funniest kitty animation in history.

It couldn't be more true if it tried - it might as well be my Cosmo. Tell all your friends about this - they'll die with laughter too, I promise! I'm off to watch the others in the series...

For a cat parent, this is the funniest 1 minute and 37 seconds ever made. And it's not just me who's saying so: it won Mr. Tofield of Tandem Films the Best Comedy award at the British Animation Awards in March of this year. (I wrote to him asking for a picture of his infamous cat but never heard back.) It takes several viewings to notice and appreciate all the little details and cleverly documented cat behaviors. When I first watched this, my cat came in the room to see me, heard simon's cat meowing and went and investigated by sitting in front of the screen hitting the cat.

The animation is minimal and captivating (especially if you are a cat it seems). Not surprisingly Simon's cat won the British animation award 2008 for best comedy for Cat man do . It is produced by Tandem films by director Simon Tofield

Simon's cat got some airtime yesterday with a feature on the culture show - watch again.

Simon’s Cat "Let me in !"

"Simon’s Cat" c’est le dernier gros carton du web. Comme vous avez pu le voir, ces petites animations nous racontent le quotidien d’un chat. Banal et pas forcement original, mais drôlement bien fait et ça m’a fait sourire, parce que tellement bien vu.

Ces animations sont réalisées par un britannique, Simon Tofield, qui travaille pour le studio londonien Tandem Films.

This is a lovely black and white short sketch which will appeal to anyone who's ever owned a cat. The animation is by Tandem Films director Simon Tofield and is called Cat Man Do. It's almost like a single strip cartoon brought to life.

Pour bien terminer l'année, à défaut de bien commencer la journée, je vous propose cette animation féline qui me fait mourir de rire.

Ce film de Simon Tofield, dont le titre original est Cat man do et pas Wake up, saisit parfaitement - sauf peut-être sur la fin … quoique - la réalité quotidienne et matinale de toute personne vivant chez un chat.

Simon Tofield travaille dans l'équipe de Tandem Films, une maison de production basée à Londres.

Just trying a feature that I've never used before.

This is a very cool cartoon made by Simon Tofield. It's so hilarious and remind me when I let my cats sleep inside the house. LOL. A very effective waking up alarm.

I can't believe I'm about to follow up an Oprah video with one about a cute cartoon kitty. What's happening to me? Next week is going to be all about pro wrestling and Chuck Norris.

Anyway, this funny little vid is called "Cat Man Do", and it's from Simon Tofield, an English animator who almost certainly has owned a cat at some point in his life.
