<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Imorgon skall jag vara ute hos kund med Janne. Vi ska hålla i en utbildning för chefer om hur man håller i känsliga samtal. Självklara saker, men jag är livrädd. Har inte varit ute och kört på ett bra tag och fastän jag i kontorlandskapet kan se på de tidigare uppdragen med distans och de kommande likaså, fantisera om att visst kommer det att gå bra, så är det så här inför imorgon pirrigt.</p>
<p>Janne är jätteduktig på att få ett genomslag inför folk. Han spelar och vad han än säger så låter det jättebra. Sen vet jag att han vet vikten av att öva. Jag vet det också. Men har jag övat idag? Nee-e. Bara de första bilderna. Men det här är ju självklart tänker jag, det här kommer jag väl ihåg. Haha ha! Det är nämligen det jag inte gör när jag står där framför dessa imorgon 20 huvuden plus Janne och får blackout. Jag har inte förberett frågor att slänga ut för att skapa en dialog, jag har inte materialet levande "i" mig. Presentationen är ännu död text på powerpoint-bilder som imorgon ska ut, på ett engagerande, livfullt sätt. Med roliga exempel som jag inte kommit på än. Att vara trist är tråkigt. Men att vara trist Och ha skakiga knän är bara ett stor No-no.</p>
<p>Företaget betalar dyra pengar till min arbetsgivare och jag låtsas vara garvad i gemet, säker på poängerna, värsta artisten, stjärnkonsulten! En som ger valuta för pengarna. Not. Där är jag inte. Jag är en numera akademiskt skolad kvinna från en annan värld än denna. Jag går i mina slackers och kavajer och min nya snygga <a href="http://www.frilla.se/images/kvinna_tjej_frisyrer/l__ngt/choppy-lengths-bob.jpg">bob-frilla</a> och svarta pumps med snygga klackarna på <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stureplan">Stureplan</a> och känner mig allmänt konstig, lite malplacé. Vissa dagar känns det komiskt, som <a href="http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/1096/chaplin.jpg">Chaplin</a> som hade en alltför stor kostym på sig. Andra dagar tänker jag att vaffan, varför skulle det här inte vara en plats för mig lika mycket som för någon annan. Min arbetsgivare anser ju det och har förtroende för mig - än så länge. Jag kastar mig in i nya uppdrag och ja, jag gillar att planera, ja, jag gillar kundkontakten...när samtalet/mötet är över. Och jag gillar utbildningar för chefer om självklara saker, när dagen är slut och jag kan pusta ut.</p>
<p>Men så här inför är jag rädd. Och inte bara det, jag är odisciplinerad också. Det är nog disciplinen som är skillnaden mellan konsulten och stjärnkonsulten. Nu får jag helt enkelt ge mig och mumla högt för mig själv vid köksbordet, så att det kommer att kännas tryggare imorgon. För det är det jag behöver ha i ryggen. En känsla av trygghet.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many film scholars while discussing Chaplin films, make it a point of Chaplin being still stuck into silent mode (as though he was caught off guard) while movies were celebrating the freedom of sound all around. Of course talkies brought some silent stars to greater fame while ruined career for a few,- John Gilbert being one, Charley Chaplin may not have had anything to fear from sound. By 1931, the Marx Brothers had already unleashed two talkies in their inimitable style but Chaplin had nothing to fear from that quarter since their styles vastly differed. His tramp image had too solid a base to weather the advent of talkies for sometime. In fact he resisted for three years when he made the film. However he gave the film a full musical score (composed by himself, perhaps not in the same class as the theme for <em>Limelight</em>) and sound effects, but he stopped short of speech. But for all that City Lights is a masterpiece and its strength shines through in spite of it.<br />
I think the genius of Chaplin lay in more than abundant measure, in areas where he could convey better in mime than sound; in pathos, drollery or pure cussedness, sound could not have been a proper substitute. In order to illustrate my point think of that famous scene in The Gold Rush where he tackles a boiled shoe? Not a word is necessary and gestures speak volumes and actions in their physical detailing, how he spears shoelaces for example, make words redundant. Take the last scene of City Lights where the blind girl sees for the first time his ‘benefactor’ the close up shot of the tramp registers everything that needed to be said in the expression.<br />
'If only one of Charles Chaplin's films could be preserved, ``City Lights'' (1931) would come the closest to representing all the different notes of his genius. It contains the slapstick, the pathos, the pantomime, the effortless physical coordination, the melodrama, the bawdiness, the grace, and, of course, the Little Tramp-( Roger Ebert /  December 21, 1997)<br />
<strong>Plot</strong><br />
Charles Chaplin as the Little Tramp, makes the acquaintance of a blind flower girl (Virginia Cherrill), who gets an impression somehow that he is a millionaire. There is a subplot in which the tramp rescues a genuine millionaire (Harry Myers) from committing suicide. When drunk, the millionaire expansively treats the tramp as a friend and equal; but sober, he doesn't even recognize him. These two story lines come together when the tramp attempts to raise enough money for the blind girl to have an eye operation. In the end it is a casual gift of a thousand dollars from his drunken millionaire friend that eventually will pay for the operation. Unfortunately like many of the tramp's efforts things go wrong: he is mistakenly accused of stealing by the millionaire who, as I said earlier, is entirely another persona when sobers up.<br />
He had tried raising funds by honest methods (street sweeping and a hilarious sequence in the ring) and before he is caught by the law, however manages to pass on the funds to the girl for the operation. And the poignant final scene splices pathos, slapstick and what have you, shows the blind girl who can see now for the first time. It is magnificent, and an inspired finale to some eighty minutes of fine film-making. Rightly this film deserves the praise of being the best picture of 1931 to have rolled out of Hollywood studios.<br />

<p>Då min förra post handlade om Tintin så tänkte jag fortsätta med serie-temat och lägga upp en av Disney´s propaganda filmer från andra världskriget, nämligen <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Der_Fuehrer's_Face">Der Fuehrer's Face</a>. Filmen kom ut 1943 men släpptes inte på video förrän 2004 tillsammans med andra propagandafilmer. En annan film med liknande tema är när Bugs Bunny har en fajt med Göring.</p>
<p>Men det som jag tycker är intressantast med <strong>Der Fuehrer's Face</strong> är scenen i fabriken, samt slutscenen med frihetsgudinnan. Fabriksscenen är rena kopian ur Chaplins geniala bild av fordismen i <a href="http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moderna_tider_(film)">Moderna Tider</a> och tillsammans med slutscenen får man lätt intryck av att det inte är så stor skillnad mellan de olika kapitalistiska ekonomierna i USA och Tyskland. Hänvisningen är kanske extra intressant med tanke på att i USA under andra världskriget så strejkades det som aldrig förr. Folk var inte beredda att göda kapitalisterna oavsett om det var krig eller ej. För mer läsning på det temat köp <a href="http://www.akpress.org/2005/items/wartimestrikes">Wartime Strikes</a>.</p>

<p>Il y a de ces dialogues fortuits dans la blogosphère qui ne demandent qu'à s'affranchir du non-lieu, du non-lien. Je survole mon agrégateur et je fais des ponts, des liens, des questions se posent et des réponses se donnent, tout pour ne pas s'abandonner au cynisme.</p>
<p>Je lis un billet de <a href="http://www.nicolaslangelier.com/nicolas_langelier/2008/08/lexpression-du-jour.html">Nicolas Langelier</a> sur le sujet de l'expression « Bouche bée » où il démontre son abasourdissement devant la nouvelle affiche du <a href="http://www.ffm-montreal.org/fr_index.html">Festival du film du monde de Montréal</a> — qui arbore comme marketing un chat bête portant le chapeau melon à la Chaplin, la lunette 3D et le noeud papillon bleu —, la traitant de kétaine. Et je venais de lire quelques minutes plus tôt un <a href="http://packaginguqam.blogspot.com/2008/08/benefit-kitten-lorigine-du-ktaine.html">billet</a> de Sylvain Allard qui m'est apparu comme sa réponse, enfin, une explication connexe :</p>

Pour ma part, c'est le rire qui a fait brasser ma cage thoracique quand j'ai entendu la nouvelle au Téléjournal, puisque j'écrivais le <a href="http://renartleveille.wordpress.com/2008/06/20/changement-chez-les-couillard/">20 juin dernier</a> à son propos (en plus de lui avoir toujours trouvé un air hypocrite, mais ça, c'est en extra, cette gratuité due au fait de faire parti du peuple...) :</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Existe uma lembrança básica relacionada à década de 30: foi assistindo E O vento Levou com parcos 10 anos de idade que aprendi a sentir aquela emoção diferente relacionada à cinema, um misto de encantamento, magia e fascínio. É a mesma sensação que eu sinto todas as vezes que revejo o filme mais famoso de todos os tempos e ouço a trilha de Max Steiner se afastar de um carvalho ao pôr do sol ou Scarlett O’hara bradando que nunca mais passará fome de novo. É cinema fenômeno de público 40 anos antes de surgir o “blockbuster”. Que se f… quem diga que é superficial ou raso, é um dos poucos filmes que conheço que se tornaram sinônimo de cinema. Os outros? Tem pra todos, desde “Foi a bela que matou a fera” até “Não existe lugar como nossa casa”, passando por bandidos julgando um psicopata, a parceria de Eisenstein e Prokofiev, Leni Riefenstahl deixando a única coisa que presta ligada ao nazismo ou o filme que “matou” Jean Vigo, até “o Annie Hall da sua época, antes da invenção da ansiedade”, como Kael chamou “Aconteceu Naquela Noite”. Só dez é foda. Grandes anos.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Excetuando a década de 1990, quando Abel Ferrara emplacou suas duas principais obras-primas de desconserto fílmico e o maior policial de que se tem notícia, e a de 1950, quando em prática Ray filmou um projeto de dois lados, mantive meus tops sob a regra de não repetir diretores. Mais uma vez quebro ela, novamente por uma grande causa: mostrar que Hawks, homem que eu já defendi o suficiente por aqui a ponto de não haver necessidade de repetir o que penso sobre seu trabalho, mostrou que é o melhor tanto no drama quanto na comédia, os dois maiores pólos cinematográficos.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Foi na década de 30 que John Ford fez a primeira parte fundamental de sua observação do homem do Oeste, em No Tempo das Diligências (seguido posteriormente por Rastros de Ódio e O Homem que Matou o Facínora), que James Cagney fez nascer o "rosto" dos gangsters, que Fred Astaire rodopiou mais bonito ao lado de Ginger Rogers, que Greta Garbo sorriu. Apesar dessas lembranças, o top da década não poderia deixar de ser de um dos maiores diretores de todos os tempos e suas críticas ferozes à sociedade, do maior filme já feito em Hollywood, do filme mais belo do artista mais talentoso que o cinema já teve, do filme mais mágico na vida de qualquer criança, das melhores comédias da história, de um grande filme de violência e do diretor mais sensível e otimista que já existiu.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Essa década ainda é um tanto quanto obscura para mim (só não é mais do que a década de 20), mas ainda assim consegui montar esse top em um tempo até relativamente curto. Tendo Chaplin como o maior de todos, com a sua fábula em forma de protesto contra a modernização trabalhista e suas consequências (isso há mais de 70 anos atrás), ainda temos como principal destaque a entrada fascinante de Walt Disney no mundo do cinema (e a réplica idealizada por Victor Fleming dois anos depois) e Greta Garbo eternizando uma frase. Talvez alguns saiam dessa lista conforme eu assista mais filmes da década, mas isso não faz dela menos relevante.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Teknologia</strong>: Elokuvan tehdas vaikuttaa teknologisesti mukinmenevältä, kunhan unohdamme proto-vaiheessa olevan työläisen ruokkimiskoneen. Kapitalisti, jonka tehtaan tuotannollinen ulottuvuus on kilpailijoitansa teknologisesti parempi, tulee ajan myötä päihittämään kilpailijansa. Hän pystyy myymään tavaransa samalla keskiarvolla, mutta tuottaa sitä halvemmalla, jolloin hän saa enemmän lisäarvoa muihin nähden. Kanssakilpailijoiden on kyettävä nostamaan tuotantoaan, jotta he voivat tuottaa tavaraansa mahdollisimman nopeasti ja täten halvalla. Tämä kuitenkin vaatii teknologisia innovaatioita, jolla on kapitalistisessa järjestelmässä aivan oma aspektinsa: tämän ansiosta järjestelmä on täynnä teknologisesti suuria askelmia eteenpäin ottavia kilpailijoita, sillä ”kuluttaja haluaa tuotteeltaan vain parasta”. Kapitalismin teknologinen aspekti on ”sisäisesti” sekä tuotantoprosessissa että ”ulkoisesti” markkinoilla tavaran kiertokulkuprosessissa. Gostaria de ajudar - se possível -<br />
judeus, o gentio ... negros ... brancos.</p>
<p>Todos nós desejamos ajudar uns aos outros.<br />
Os seres humanos são assim.<br />
Desejamos viver para a felicidade do próximo -<br />
não para o seu infortúnio.<br />
Por que havemos de odiar ou desprezar uns aos outros?<br />
Neste mundo há espaço para todos.<br />
A terra, que é boa e rica,<br />
pode prover todas as nossas necessidades.</p>
<p>O caminho da vida pode ser o da liberdade e da beleza, porém nos extraviamos.<br />
A cobiça envenenou a alma do homem ...<br />

Mais do que de inteligência, precisamos de afeição e doçura.<br />
Sem essas duas virtudes,<br />
a vida será de violência e tudo será perdido.</p>
<p>A aviação e o rádio aproximaram-se muito mais. A próxima natureza dessas coisas é um apelo eloqüente à bondade do homem ... um apelo à fraternidade universal ... à união de todos nós. Neste mesmo instante a minha voz chega a milhões de pessoas pelo mundo afora ... milhões de desesperados, homens, mulheres, criancinhas ... vítimas de um sistema que tortura seres humanos e encarcera inocentes.<br />
Aos que me podem ouvir eu digo: "Não desespereis!" A desgraça que tem caído sobre nós não é mais do que o produto da cobiça em agonia ... da amargura de homens que temem o avanço do progresso humano.<br />
Os homens que odeiam desaparecerão, os ditadores sucumbem e o poder que do povo arrebataram há de retornar ao povo.<br />
E assim, enquanto morrem os homens,<br />
a liberdade nunca perecerá.</p>
<p>Soldados! Não vos entregueis a esses brutais ... que vos desprezam ... que vos escravizam ... que arregimentam as vossas vidas ... que ditam os vossos atos, as vossas idéias e os vossos sentimentos! Que vos fazem marchar no mesmo passo, que vos submetem a uma alimentação regrada, que vos tratam como um gado humano e que vos utilizam como carne para canhão! Não sois máquina! Homens é que sois! E com o amor da humanidade em vossas almas! Não odieis! Só odeiam os que não se fazem amar ... os que não se fazem amar e os inumanos.</p>
<p>Soldados! Não batalheis pela escravidão! lutai pela liberdade!<br />
No décimo sétimo capítulo de São Lucas é escrito que o Reino de Deus está dentro do homem - não de um só homem ou um grupo de homens, mas dos homens todos! Estás em vós!<br />
Vós, o povo, tendes o poder - o poder de criar máquinas.<br />
O poder de criar felicidade!<br />
Vós, o povo, tendes o poder de tornar esta vida livre e bela ...<br />
de fazê-la uma aventura maravilhosa.<br />
Portanto - em nome da democracia - usemos desse poder, unamo-nos todos nós. Lutemos por um mundo novo ...<br />

<p><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065063/" target="_blank"><i>Take the Money and Run</i></a> (1969) is one of director/actor Woody Allen's earlier, highly slapstick films before the days of <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075686/" target="_blank"><i>Annie Hall</i></a>, which is lauded as the measuring point of all things Woody. In fact, it was his second film as director, following <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061177/" target="_blank"><i>What's up, Tiger Lily?</i></a>. And, to be honest, it showed.</p>
<p>A mockumentary set in the 1950s, the movie traces the life of thief and social misfit Virgil Starkwell. A whole bunch of people from Virgil's life are interviewed &#8212; his parents (protected from identification with Marx Bros glasses), wardens, psychologists, cello teachers &#8230; etc. The interviews really add commentary to a narrative with Virgil as protagonist. He was a petty crim at a young age, despite attempts to do good being a cellist in a marching band. One day, he meets a young Louise (<a href="http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9F0CE7DA1131F93BA25751C1A965958260&#38;scp=2&#38;sq=janet++margolin&#38;st=nyt" target="_blank">Janet Margolin</a>) and they become (unlikely) lovers after Virgil claims he plays for the philharmonic orchestra. Virgil gets caught up in his own addiction to lying and stealing as he tries to bring dosh into his new family. Each robbery attempt is an unfortunate mistake. In one attempt, he hands a written note to the bank teller demanding money &#8212; the teller doesn't know what the note says ("gum" or "gun"?) and consults the rest of the bank staff. In between abortive robberies, is time in the clink.</p>
<p>This is all very Woody Allen stuff &#8212; Allen's absurd anti-hero who is so convinced of his absurd fantasy that he is almost heroic. Virgil is one of the first. It's all underscored by Allen's casting of often younger, attractive female counterparts.</p>
<p>I love Allen's movies, but I have to say I fell asleep through this one. The slapstick was a little OTT and grew tiresome. Allen's earlier films were much more slapstick. Chaplin, Marx Brothers and Buster Keaton are his muses, and it certainly shines through in this movie. Gaffs, goofs and blunders. As he matured, the Allen of Freudian slips, Oedipal complexes and the obligatory Hitler joke emerges and marries with his slapstick. And it's this that I love, but a little absent in this one.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0196216/" target="_blank"><i>Small Time Crooks</i></a> (2000) revisits <i>Take the Money</i>, with <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001808/" target="_blank">Tracey Ullman</a>. This is a much better film, no doubt with a bigger budget and after years of refining his art.</p>
<p>It will be a sad day when Allen departs the stage.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Cinema Review: WALL-E]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft" style="border:5px solid black;margin:10px;" src="http://images.play.com/covers/3436847m.jpg" alt="" width="117" height="178" />Well, Pixar have done it again; WALL-E is yet another entertaining film from the people at the forefront of modern studio animation ...and everyone else seems to agree, citing it's similarity to numerous sources ranging from Chaplin to <em>Silent Running</em> but for me the latter is much more in evidence than the former and this points towards the film's only weak area...</p>
<p>WALL-E himself is the last of numerous droids left behind to clean up Earth when it became too polluted for humans to remain there and unfortunately he is also one of numerous objects that could have filled the central role.  Sure, he is a nice little character but they could substitute him for a puppy dog or a sock puppet without any real complication - he is no E.T. or Gizmo.  It is therefore a testament to the overall quality of the film that, even with this lack at it's core, it still manages to be a captivating movie.</p>
<p>The world in which the story takes place is simply astonishing both in looks and conception.  The animation is stunning as usual and the film takes in and relays large sci-fi concepts that had me thinking of authors such as Ray Bradbury and Poul Anderson.  Add to this a highly inventive supporting cast of biological and mechanical characters (cleaning robot M-O being my favourite) plus a directorial style that comes closer to mimicking the presence of an actual camera than any other animation I have seen and you have a hugely impressive movie.  Pixar still haven't topped <em>The Incredibles </em>but this is certainly not far off.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well, the next CT is due to come out on the 7th of August, and I'm holding my breath a bit this time around. The last one just wasn't what I was hoping for, so I'm a little worried this could be a trend. I wasn't that thrilled with this new trailer. Actually I thought it was pretty flat, I laughed just barely. But really, I do want to be positive. I have always wanted them to to "The Wasp Woman," a great bad movie, that's right up their ally! It <em>should</em> be great, but will it?</p>

Didn't go, but I got to see pictures and videos of the frist time all the cast and writers from MST#k have been together in years! All to celebrate their 20th anniversary of the show, (which is offically, in November.) Pretty cool seeing them altogether, but for the most part, the Q&#38;A was full of almost all the same tried questions. Still, it was wild!</p>

<p>Cuentan que en cierta ocasión Albert Einstein se encontró con Charles Chaplin, cuyas películas eran muy admiradas por el creador de la Teoría de la Relatividad. Tratando de ser amable le dijo: "Lo que he admirado siempre de usted es que su arte es universal; todo el mundo le entiende y le admira". A lo que Chaplin le respondió: "Lo suyo es mucho más digno de respeto; todo el mundo le admira y prácticamente nadie le entiende".</p>
<p>Después de una entretenida tarde en la grata compañía de algunas de ellas, un servidor ha acabado pensando de las mujeres exactamente lo mismo que Chaplin de Einstein.</p>
