At the Mainstream Revolution event, I spotted this young lad sporting a pair of Cheap Mondays. His awkward cuteness and fantastic taste in denim prompted me to get new Street Style contributor Alexandra M to snap his picture for the blog as I was in the midst of 67 conversations which never ended up getting anywhere.

Although various stylish individuals were in the crowd, none struck me as street style worthy. The event went great. People unfamiliar with the cause were given the opportunity to read up on the issue, check out and buy some t-shirts, eat some great vegetarian food courtesy of Castle Shawarma on Rideau, La Brioche on Bank, Contemporary Cuisine on Nicholas and Sitar on Rideau, and listen to Eric and Seb spin some fabulous hip-hop (the good stuff not the mainstream stuff).

Too bad Alex forgot to get his name. Young, Cheap Monday sporting lad, if you are reading this, what is your name?

P.S. His shoes are adorable too.

I love these jeans from Cheap Monday -- they are so playful,  and personally, I am especially fond of the all white get up to the right.

My favorite look from Minimarket is the shorts suit, followed closely by the ladybug sweater.

Tiger of Sweden stood out to me for the way they played with proportions and for how the pieces they put together were unconventional pairs that fit so comfortably together.  

What Made Carin Wester's basically neutral color palette so exciting was her mixing of silhouettes and fabrics to create simple yet dramatic pieces and ensembles.

Not only are Cheap Mondays affordable, but they offer an alternative to denim.

Yesterday, I found myself a pair of yellow satin slacks at Dutil in Gastown for $79. I can guarantee you won't be able to beat a $79 price tag in any denim salon, never mind Dutil.

Since these slacks are light cotton rather than heavy denim, this is a more viable summer look when things begin to heat up.

Winnie and I bought our banana panties which we will wear to grad. I'm excited. They're so comfortable. Annddd. Grad - 2 days. Oh my. We performed our play in Performing Arts. It was pretty amazing. Seeing Keegan in makeup and a wig made my day, most definitely. Above all that, I don't think I did too shitty on my redo math exam. How wonderful. Let's hope the rest of the week goes as nicely.

I bought some Cheap Monday jeans. I really like them. They're very much comfortable. And not very expensive at all, as far as jeans go. And since I am now a working girl (meaning I am employed by Purdy's), I can fund all of my material desires. Also - I lied. The government is not taking away half of my paycheck. I just thought they were. Then I got my pay stub and it all made sense.

Mmm, eggplant boy.
