<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://stuffflypeoplelike.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/frockssolange.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6711" title="frockssolange" src="http://stuffflypeoplelike.wordpress.com/files/2008/09/frockssolange.jpg" alt="" width="497" height="398" /></a></p>
<p>NYC Fashion Week is HERE. Solange did her thing at the Conde Nast Media Group’s 5th Aniversary of <em>Fashion Rocks! here in NYC Yesterday.</em>Other performances included her big sis Beyonce, Rihana, Chris Brown and Mary J to name a few.</p>
<p><a href="http://stuffflypeoplelike.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/frocksbeyjustin.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6712" title="frocksbeyjustin" src="http://stuffflypeoplelike.wordpress.com/files/2008/09/frocksbeyjustin.jpg" alt="" width="444" height="600" /></a></p>
<p>Beyonce and Justin Timberlake performed. Bey held down a few performances. She's back Snitches!<a href="http://stuffflypeoplelike.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/frocksbeyetta.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6713" title="frocksbeyetta" src="http://stuffflypeoplelike.wordpress.com/files/2008/09/frocksbeyetta.jpg" alt="" width="410" height="600" /></a></p>
<p>She did a tribute to Etta James. She looks beautiful. Wow! The similarities are a bit striking. She's always on One Hundred. <strong>Gotta luv it</strong>.</p>
<p><a href="http://stuffflypeoplelike.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/frocksstandup.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6714" title="frocksstandup" src="http://stuffflypeoplelike.wordpress.com/files/2008/09/frocksstandup.jpg" alt="" width="497" height="430" /></a></p>
<p>Bey then joined Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Mimi, Ashanti and others for  “Just Stand Up”, the worldwide charity single benefiting <em>Stand Up To <span style="color:#ed145b;font-family:Trebuchet MS;">Cancer</span></em>.  The song was created and produced by LA Reid and Kenny "BabyFace" Edmonds. Peep the SHOE SWAG ON THAT STAGE! WOW!<a href="http://stuffflypeoplelike.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/frockschrisperforms.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6716" title="frockschrisperforms" src="http://stuffflypeoplelike.wordpress.com/files/2008/09/frockschrisperforms.jpg" alt="" width="497" height="327" /></a></p>
<p>Breezy hit the stage. <strong>GET INTO IT!</strong></p>
<p><strong><a href="http://stuffflypeoplelike.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/frocksrihannaperforms.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6718" title="frocksrihannaperforms" src="http://stuffflypeoplelike.wordpress.com/files/2008/09/frocksrihannaperforms.jpg" alt="" width="459" height="600" /></a></strong></p>
<p>Rhi Rhi did her thing as well. Can't wait to see.<a href="http://stuffflypeoplelike.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/frocksmimi.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6721" title="frocksmimi" src="http://stuffflypeoplelike.wordpress.com/files/2008/09/frocksmimi.jpg" alt="" width="406" height="600" /></a></p>
<p>Sing Mimi. You know where gonna do some FLY lights in a minute....Stay Tuned.</p>
<p>-Stay FLY!</p>

<p>The stars were out last night wearing expensive gowns, jewelry, accesories, and beautiful make-up, for the Fashion Rocks show at Radio City Music Hall. They hit the red carpet in style while posing for the cameras and screaming fans. We'll let you decide who's outfit selection you liked best.</p>

Two hot but aging actors who have yet to prove their worth (Paul Walker and Hayden Christensen) + a]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<ul>
<li>Two hot but aging actors who have yet to prove their worth (<strong>Paul Walker</strong> and <strong>Hayden Christensen</strong>) + a couple of hip-hop stars who are trying to build their resume and gain credibility (<strong>Chris Brown</strong>, <strong>T.I.</strong>) + an unoriginal plot = "<strong>Bone Deep</strong>" from <strong>Screen Gems</strong>.</li>
</ul>
<p>[via <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i0c67f62c8fff28607c6f2e7527a8c68e" target="_blank">Hollywood Reporter</a>]</p>
<ul>
<li>A new <strong>Mitch Hurwitz</strong> (creator of "<strong>Arrested Development</strong>" and "<strong>The Ellen Show</strong>") comedy?! Sounds great! Wait...<strong>Jason Biggs</strong> is set to star? He has been completely unimpressive thus far in his career. Couldn't even shine in a little guest spot on a <strong>Will &#38; Grace</strong> re-run that I saw the other day. Still, the premise sounds promising. Perhaps because it echoes from real life? "The comedy revolves around adult siblings and their parents who are over-involved in one another's lives."</li>
</ul>
<p>[via <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i0c67f62c8fff28602e906b9aac5b1baa" target="_blank">Hollywood Reporter</a>]</p>
<ul>
<li>Those Germans are a testy bunch! First <strong>Tom Cruise</strong>'s "<strong>Valkyrie</strong>" got some heat and now it's <strong>Tarantino</strong>'s "<strong>Inglorious Bastards</strong>".</li>
</ul>
<p>[via <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i0c67f62c8fff286074019b9b9f940c9c" target="_blank">Hollywood Reporter</a>]</p>
<ul>
<li>Another remake: "<strong>Ghostbusters</strong>". Yawn. At least they got "<strong>The Office</strong>" writers.</li>
</ul>
<p>[via <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i0c67f62c8fff286074019b9b9f940c9c" target="_blank">Hollywood Reporter</a>]</p>
<ul>
<li>Any indie comedy set in an office/company and boasts a cast like this: <strong>Martin Landau </strong>(contender for best "Entourage" guest appearance..."Is that something that might interest you?"), <strong>Steve Zahn </strong>(commendable work in <strong>Chicken Little</strong>), <strong>Steve Buscemi</strong> (who was awesome in <strong>Paris, Je T'aime</strong>) and <strong>Ron Livingston</strong> (hello, <strong>Office Space</strong>!) gets my vote! "<strong>The Company Men</strong>" is set to start shooting in November in Detroit and is about "a collapsing toy company struggling to maintain its survival."</li>
</ul>
<p>[via <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i66bd53726b7c8c35270d5fc3c06b5f8d" target="_blank">Hollywood Reporter</a>]</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Paul Bettany</strong> and wife <strong>Jennifer Connelly</strong> will play husband and wife on-screen in "<strong>Creation</strong>," a film about the father of the evolution theory, Charles Darwin. I'm no scientific geek but this sure makes it sound interesting: "<strong>John Amiel</strong>'s film portrays Darwin as a man torn between his love for his deeply religious wife and his own growing belief in a world where God has no place. The scientist finds himself caught in a struggle between faith and reason, love and truth."</li>
</ul>
<p>[via <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3ic8fa818f78acd577857695dbb4e67b2d" target="_blank">Hollywood Reporter</a>]</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>ABC</strong> continues to borrow <span style="text-decoration:line-through;">steal</span> programming from overseas, specifically Japan: ABC has ordered a pilot for <strong>Mark Burnett</strong>'s "<strong>Shark Tank,</strong>" an adaptation of the Japanese reality format "<strong>Dragon's Den</strong>." Dude, no one watches "<strong>The Apprentice</strong>" anymore.</li>
</ul>
<p>[via <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i0c5cda0b44613d0255b81f04e8f70d51" target="_blank">Hollywood Reporter</a>]</p>
<ul>
<li>A few more tidbits on <strong>Tarantino</strong>'s "<strong>Inglorious Bastards</strong>": the <strong>Weinstein Co.</strong> and <strong>Universal</strong> are co-financing and co-presenting the film. The cast includes: <strong>Diane Kruger </strong>("Troy"), <strong>Brad Pitt</strong>, and <strong>Mike Meyers</strong>.</li>
</ul>
<p>[via <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i70662f7dd9d6f3c4ffac3b92b01f497a" target="_blank">Hollywood Reporter</a>]</p>
<ul>
<li>Aside from <strong>Battlestar Galactica</strong>, you'll find me hesitant to get into the sci-fi genre, whether film or TV. But put <strong>Greg Berlanti</strong> behind it and it's a whole new ball game. With Berlanti's penchant and knack for drama and complex relationships ("<strong>Brothers and Sisters</strong>", "<strong>Dirty Sexy Money</strong>") and <strong>Rene Echevarri</strong>'s experience in the sci-fi world (he exec produced "<strong>The 4400</strong>" and "<strong>Dark Angel</strong>") this just might have a chance at obtaining an hour of my precious TV watching time. The project, being produced for <strong>ABC Studios</strong>, where Berlanti has an overall deal, is entitled "<strong>The Return</strong>" and "revolves around the impact on the world -- including the White House -- when aliens land."</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>I'm not a huge follower of the "<strong>Frasier</strong>"-type comedy, but this premise has decent quirky and funny potential. I'm pretty much a sucker for all things mockumentary: "Untitled laffer will revolve around a traditional married couple and their three kids; an older guy, his younger wife and their adopted son; and a gay couple who have just adopted an Asian infant. All three families live in the same suburb, and the Dutch documentarian, meanwhile, has returned to the U.S., where he lived with one of the American characters as an exchange student 15 or 20 years ago." <strong>Steven Levitan</strong> and <strong>Chris Lloyd</strong> are at the helm of this pilot for <strong>ABC</strong>. Together they created last season’s <strong>Fox</strong> sitcom "<strong>Back to You</strong>." Their other credits include "<strong>Wings</strong>" and "<strong>Just Shoot Me</strong>" for Levitan.</li>
</ul>
<p>[via <a href="http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117991243.html?categoryid=14&#38;cs=1&#38;nid=2613" target="_blank">Variety</a>]</p>
<ul>
<li>A Hollywood film that satirizes the left? Director-writer <strong>David Zucker</strong> ("<strong>Airplane!</strong>," "<strong>Naked Gun</strong>") has begun screening his upcoming film "<strong>An American Carol</strong>", a comedy satire, spoofing "<strong>A Christmas Carol</strong>." the pic centers on a <strong>Michael Moore</strong>-like filmmaker (<strong>Kevin Farley</strong>) who is campaigning to end the Fourth of July. He gets visited by three ghosts — those of George Washington, George S. Patton and John F. Kennedy — who try to get him to rethink his ways. The cast also includes <strong>Kelsey Grammer</strong>,<strong> Jon Voight</strong>, <strong>James Woods</strong>, L<strong>eslie Nielsen</strong> and <strong>Dennis Hopper</strong>. Even <strong>Fox News</strong>’ <strong>Bill O’Reilly</strong> has a cameo.Zucker was a longtime Democrat who backed <strong>Al Gore</strong> in 2000, but his political views changed after 9/11. He’s a <strong>McCain</strong> supporter who describes himself as a centrist, pro-choice and pro-environment (he has two Priuses).</li>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>20. House of Cards- Radiohead</p>
<p>Radiohead tends to take me to another world, plus I'm a sucker for clever metaphors. Using a house of cards to represent a fragile marriage... c'est magnifique! While I can understand that a lot of people hate Radiohead (some secretly, some not), that's almost even more reason to keep them on the list. Honorable mention to The White Stripes who would've taken this spot if I hadn't killed Icky Thump for myself by making it one of my ringtones.</p>
<p>19. Pork and Beans- Weezer</p>
<p>Weezer is the archetype of cool nerds which is totally awesome. And Pork and Beans is like their new anthem. Both the video and the song embody all that is Weezer. YouTube has disabled embedding for this video so the link is below.</p>
<p>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m25bzrmTvaU</p>
<p>18. Shake It- Metro Station</p>
<p>There's something about Miley's brother singing about doing the nasty that really make you want to "shake it." It's catchy, it's fun and if you really pay attention it's pretty dirty!</p>
<p>17. You're a Wolf- Sea Wolf</p>
<p>Sometimes simple repetition tells the best story. With it's folky feel, soothing vocals, and the mesmerizing effect of the cello, Sea Wolf enamors their listeners.</p>
<p>16. Little Motel- Modest Mouse</p>
<p>While "Dashboard" is the critic's favorite, "Little Motel" is one of those songs that speaks to the soul. In this melancholy little work, Modest Mouse captures the essence of longing through their signature beats and chords.</p>
<p>15. Stripper- Sohodolls</p>
<p><span style='text-align:center; display: block;'><object width='425' height='350'><param name='movie' value='http://www.youtube.com/v/VJOzVwd29H8'></param><param name='wmode' value='transparent'></param><embed src='http://www.youtube.com/v/VJOzVwd29H8&rel=0' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' wmode='transparent' width='425' height='350'></embed></object></span></p>
<p>This song is the definition of sexy. It's a take no prisoners, edge of your seat, burlesque-ish show stopper that will keep you begging for more.</p>
<p>14. Hard to Live in the City- Albert Hammond, Jr.</p>
<p>While The Strokes' First Impressions of Earth was a year too early to get a song on this list, their guitarist's solo album came just in time. While his fingers keep that familiar style, his vocals are a little raspier than Julian's and make this solo debut deep as well as intriguing.</p>
<p>13. Stronger- Kanye West</p>
<p>I think most of us can agree that Kanye kicks ass and even though you may have heard "Stronger" 1,000,000,000 times, you can still get down to it. Honorable mention to "Put On" with Young Jeezy and "American Boy" with Estelle.</p>
<p>12. One Week of Danger- The Virgins</p>
<p>Definitely a bedroom song. The way the guitar strums and the less than delicate words say it all.</p>
<p>11. The Queen and I- Gym Class Heroes</p>
<p>This is like the anthem for a girl's night out drinking... and it's got a sick beat.</p>
<p>10. Always Where I Need to Be- The Kooks</p>
<p><span style='text-align:center; display: block;'><object width='425' height='350'><param name='movie' value='http://www.youtube.com/v/ln_qHyGD9zo'></param><param name='wmode' value='transparent'></param><embed src='http://www.youtube.com/v/ln_qHyGD9zo&rel=0' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' wmode='transparent' width='425' height='350'></embed></object></span></p>
<p>There's much to be said about an upbeat song about things working out with a nice little guitar solo. There's also something incredibly charming about British musicians whose accents come through when they sing. Verdict: all around top notch stuff.</p>
<p>9. Paper Planes- M.I.A.</p>
<p>Whether or not you like her other songs better, you can't deny that Paper Planes is just plain fun to listen to. And anyone who makes a powerful statement about our society will always make it onto any list of mine.</p>
<p>8. Piece of Me- Britney Spears</p>
<p>Using all the negative attention she's gotten and making it a hit is the smartest thing Britney has ever done. It' like slapping everyone in the face and saying "If you're gonna talk shit I'll just make money off that so fuck you!" You go, Brit!</p>
<p>7. Forever- Chris Brown</p>
<p>That Chris Brown is such a cutie and DAMN can he move! With a voice like his and a smooth beat backing him up, it's no wonder this charmer has won over so many young ladies (including Rihanna)</p>
<p>6. Miley Cyrus- The 7 Things I Hate About You</p>
<p><span style='text-align:center; display: block;'><object width='425' height='350'><param name='movie' value='http://www.youtube.com/v/Hr0Wv5DJhuk'></param><param name='wmode' value='transparent'></param><embed src='http://www.youtube.com/v/Hr0Wv5DJhuk&rel=0' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' wmode='transparent' width='425' height='350'></embed></object></span></p>
<p>Miley has graduated from being a Disney kid and is becoming one of the sexiest little things in music. This song is cute, catchy, infectious and easy to relate to. I swear there's just something about Miley. And if Demi Lovato thinks she has a chance of becoming half as popular as Miley she has another thing coming.</p>
<p>5. I'm Like a Lawyer With the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off- Fall Out Boy</p>
<p><span style='text-align:center; display: block;'><object width='425' height='350'><param name='movie' value='http://www.youtube.com/v/6ovEALzER14'></param><param name='wmode' value='transparent'></param><embed src='http://www.youtube.com/v/6ovEALzER14&rel=0' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' wmode='transparent' width='425' height='350'></embed></object></span></p>
<p>I'm not going to deny that I like Fall Out Boy anymore because, hell, they're pretty fucking great. Not only is this a great song, but they made the music video an advertisement for Invisible Children (an organization that helps children in Uganda that have been forced to fight as soldiers in Uganda). Fall Out Boy is talented and they definitely have their heads (and hearts... awww) in the right place.</p>
<p>4. Make It Wit Chu- Queens of the Stone Age</p>
<p>Definitley a bedroom song, "Make It Wit Chu" is sexy, dirty, and very different from a lot of the Queens other music. Still, even when they slow it down, Queens of the Stone Age rock. (How can they not when they write a song about doing it "anytime, anywhere"?)</p>
<p>3. Disturbia- Rihanna</p>
<p>Whatever the French were talking about when the mentioned that certain je ne sais quoi, Rihanna has got it. A chart topping master at only 20 years old, she has major star potential. Disturbia is amost like the new Thriller with it's sinister edge.</p>
<p>2. Viva la Vida- Coldplay</p>
<p><span style='text-align:center; display: block;'><object width='425' height='350'><param name='movie' value='http://www.youtube.com/v/dvgZkm1xWPE'></param><param name='wmode' value='transparent'></param><embed src='http://www.youtube.com/v/dvgZkm1xWPE&rel=0' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' wmode='transparent' width='425' height='350'></embed></object></span></p>
<p>Love them or hate them, Coldplay finally broke away from the "it all kind of sounds alike" mold with Viva la Vida. The strings, the words, and the overall sounds of this song make it stand out among the rest.</p>
<p>1. How We Breathe- Pinback</p>
<p>This may be a surprising pick for #1 but it's really my personal favorite. They do something incredible with the guitar strings that's unlike anything I've ever heard before. It's as if the chords are consuming you during the few lines before the chorus. Definitely something to look into.</p>

Wir behalten unsere eigene Show."</p>

<description><![CDATA[I&#8217;m a sucker for cute guys. TOTAL sucker. But I will be reminded by what Jay told me yesterday]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I'm a sucker for cute guys. <strong><span style="color:#ff0000;">TOTAL</span> </strong>sucker. But I will be reminded by what Jay told me yesterday, "Maybe you should focus on school first". Thought I'd just brush what he said off, but honestly it has been on my mind lately. UGH, but thats another story. What this entry is about is what gets me all crazy about cute guys. </p>
<p>Where to start? MMMM</p>
<p><img class="alignleft" src="http://www.bfi.org.uk/llgff/files/images/bangkok_love_story_01.jpg" alt="" width="282" height="158" /></p>
<p>The face. I'm a sucker for clear, cute, faced guys. If they have a line up of some sort, I go crazy. If they have chinky eyes even better! Crispy brown complexion =] yum. Physically, I like them medium built. Not too skinny and not to frumpy haha. I like guys who wear fitted hats. Gets me all the time. I like a guy who smiles a lot. SOOO much that is hurts me to see their face. I like a guy who takes care of their nails. Hate long nails. I'm a sucker for guys who have nice calves and arms. LINE UPSSS. I'm not so much an ab guy...but its cool haha. FACE value is what really gets me. Guys who have deep voices or a really soothing voice is always a plus. LOVE IT! Makes me go crazy. A guy who is the SWEETEST most darnest thing you ever met. Polite and courteous gets me.  I LOVE PILIPINO GAY BOYS WITH CUTE SMILES AND CUTE FUCKINGGGGGGG PERSONALITY!</p>
<p><img class="alignright" src="http://i19.tinypic.com/52vivx0.jpg" alt="" width="194" height="200" /></p>
<p>haha oh man...number one though...SCENT! You can be butt ugly and have the bombest scent that I'd still go crazy HAAHA. </p>
<p>sigh...I think the point of this entry is to show how crazy I can get...I hate going to malls esp at serremonte cause I see the guys I want! hahaha...UGH EVERY GUY NEEDS TO BE GAY ALREADY! hahahahahahahah fucking shit...blah =( </p>
<p>I'm sad because I really do need to focus on school and get my mind out of the day dream I live in daily. hahaha </p>
<p>I told Jeremy and JP, "You know you're cute and made it if a guy guy thinks you are!" </p>
<p>PS. My guilty pleasures are black guys LOL hahahahahahahaahha <img class="alignnone" src="http://a621.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/84/l_42f03e14c895dec24c8d7a5240812cd4.jpg" alt="" width="360" height="539" /><img class="alignnone" src="http://thedailymodel.dreamhosters.com/male/usa/jayr1.jpg" alt="" width="228" height="313" /><img class="alignnone" src="http://a794.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/94/l_45608d5fd0264e83da9e728aa6389a39.jpg" alt="" width="420" height="630" /><img class="alignnone" src="http://a478.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/126/l_e4e60d3e1e0a8b853b4c4f3296eeecc5.jpg" alt="" width="252" height="378" /><img class="alignnone" src="http://www.music4.com/images/celebrities/chris-brown.jpg" alt="" width="420" height="279" /></p>

<p>Rihanna and Chris Brown were spotted leaving their Manhattan hotel last night to get their evening started. RiRi's outfit is fierce. Are you feeling it? One thing we can say is that shopping pays off because it's rare that you ever catch "Fo Head Almighty" rocking anything twice.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I've always been big fans of helping those in need, especially if you have overflow. Like shoe overflow. So many of us have dozens of pairs of shoes that we’ve worn once and then shoved into the depths of our closets never to be seen again. Until now.</p>
<p>Think about those who don’t have a closet jam packed with the latest trends. Those who have to wear one pair of shoes until the shoes wear through. Those who possibly can’t afford shoes at all.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.soles4souls.org/" target="_blank">Soles4Souls</a>, a charitable organization based in Nashville, has thought plenty about these folks and are ready to donate all of our lost shoes to those who need them. They are also in partnership with <a href="http://www.piperlime.com" target="_blank">Piperlime</a>, which makes them even more credible.</p>
<p>The association will take any clean, unwanted shoes and pass them around the world to countries in need like Mexico, Romania, and Thailand. Just imagine – those Steve Madden pumps you wore that were “so yesterday” on the feet of someone who can actually use and appreciate them!</p>
<p>Do your good deed for the day and ship your shoes to the address below:</p>

<p>Many musicians, actors and athletes like Stevie Nicks, Billy Joel, Reba McEntire, Jessica Alba, Jim Belushi, Don Cheadle, Lauren Conrad, Scarlett Johansson, Rachel Ray, Chris Brown (running back), and Manny Moto help this wonderful cause. <description><![CDATA[OK, Tuesdays this year will be when I&#8217;ll sit down and react to games from around the nation - ]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>OK, Tuesdays this year will be when I'll sit down and react to games from around the nation - and especially the Big XII - this season. It will give me enough time to digest how important each game is, and not be too emotional in my interpretations or musings over them. Unfortunately yesterday I was held from posting with other important duties to take care of so this week is on Wednesday. Each week I'll start with the Big XII games - minus the Huskers who I talk about at length anyway - and work my way further and further away ... so off we go!</p>
<p>*All rankings reflect what a team was ranked heading into the game*</p>
<p><strong>Big XII</strong></p>
<p><em>(23) Wake Forrest 41-13 Baylor</em></p>
<p>So much for an "improved" Baylor team. This team has some great young talent, yet I think it is still a few years off from contending for fourth place in the Big XII South - having a chance against an extremely underwhelming Texas A&#38;M team we'll touch later for fifth. Wake dominated from the opening kickoff, and never looked back. For a day or so I was impressed by Wake ... then I remembered they were playing Baylor.</p>
<p><em>Iowa St. 44-17 South Dakota St.</em></p>
<p>The score leads you to believe that Iowa St. dominated SDSU, and yet the stats say otherwise. Iowa St. amassed only 388 total yards - while giving up 350 - en route to this comfortable win. No, it wasn't dominating - which is concerning against SDSU - but they got the job done. However, Cyclone fans shouldn't expect too many more wins out of this team, not with new QB(s) Austen Arnaud/Phillip Bates at the helm of the team.</p>
<p><em>Oklahoma St 39-13 Washington St</em></p>
<p>This was a quality victory for the Cowboys and a good look at this team. Okie St dominated from beginning to end with an efficient showing by Zac Robinson (20-27 193, 1 INT) and the Cowboy running game. Really this was just Okie St pushing the ball down Washington St's throat and not relenting. Not only that but the defense did a good job in limiting Washington St to 193 total yards. Too bad for the Cowboys they can't can't expect to get any better than fourth in the South.</p>
<p><em>Chattanooga 2-57 (4)Oklahoma</em></p>
<p>Oklahoma didn't even try - and they didn't have to - to be Chattanooga, yet they dominated this severely under-matched team. The Sooners put up a total of 487 yards, while only giving up 36 - that's right, 36. DeMarco Murry rushed 15 times for 124 yards and 2 TDs while Chris Brown had 14 carries 63 yards and 3 TDs, not to mention that Sam Bradford continued his efficient play going 17-22 for 183 yards and 2 TDs before being relieved late in the second quarter. This team looked every bit of their No. 4 ranking and is still by far my favorite to win the Big XII.</p>
<p><em>Arkansas St 18-14 Texas A&#38;M</em></p>
<p>The most surprising and disappointing result for the Big XII this past weekend. I had no grand expectations for this Aggie team, but Arkansas St?! Seriously? This has to have people in Aggie-ville screaming for mercy looking at the rest of their schedule. Or as one of the area radio personalities said "they will only be favored in 3 more games this year - and one of those is against the walking corpse known as Baylor..."</p>
<p>The most concerning thing about the A&#38;M game was that the Aggies gave up 415 yards to a team picked to finish third in the Sun Belt. What are they going to do with Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech roll into town? Probably roll over and ask to be awoken after the season's over.</p>
<p><em>Florida Atlantic 10-52 (11) Texas</em></p>
<p>No surprises here as the Longhorns cruised to a big victory to start the season. I guess the biggest surprise from the game was that QB Colt McCoy was 24-29 for 222 yards, 3 TDs and had 12 carries for 103 yards and 1 TD. When your QB is responsible for 28 points, you're probably doing alright against Florida Atlantic...</p>
<p><em>Florida International 10-40 (14) Kansas</em></p>
<p>They proved it wasn't a fluke! No just kidding. Against a very flimsy Florida International team the Jayhawks were able to assert dominance without breaking a sweat. However, one concern I had about the Jayhawks coming into the season was a problem for them in week one - a severe lack of a running game. QB Todd Reesing played the full game and attempted 52 passes, which is entirely too many unless you are Texas Tech. The Jayhawks better hope to find some semblance of a running game before the Big XII season starts, or they are in for a long ride.</p>
<p><em>Eastern Washington 24-49 (12) Texas Tech</em></p>
<p>In this matchup you got the expected absurd offensive stats, as Texas Tech rolled up 639 yards and gave up 364 in return. Graham Harrell went 43-58 for 536 yards with 2 TDs and an INT to lead the way for the Red Raiders. However, if I were a Tech supporter I would be worried about the defense after watching them give up 341 of 364 total yards through the air. When the Red Raiders match up against Texas or Oklahoma it will be even tougher to stop them. Maybe it was an exception, but I have a feeling that all the talk about a "vastly improved" defense was just that ... talk.</p>
<p><em>North Texas 6-45 Kansas St</em></p>
<p>Not impressed. That's really all I want to say about Kansas St after their dominating performance over a very outclassed opponent. That and I'm probably still biased after the Wildcats decided to buyout Fresno St from coming to Manhattan this season so they could schedule a FCS team in Montana St. Classy move ...</p>
<p>Yes, Josh Freeman had a good start to the season, and looks to be one of the better NFL QB prospects in the Big XII, but I just hate to see a team limp away from a decent game to pick up Montana St. You argue "hey Mike, they beat Colorado in 2006..." yeah, so did everyone else - and then Montana St. lost to D-II Chadron St the following week ... Great move Ron Prince.</p>
<p><em>(20) Illinois 42-52 (6) Missouri</em></p>
<p>Missouri's offense picked up where it left off last season - dominating all comers other than Oklahoma. Chase Daniel was as impressive as ever, and as was Jeremy Maclin - who went down with an injury but looks to be ok. But with that in mind this game brought up a host of concerns in my mind about Missouri's defense. They gave up 42 points and 532 total yards - including 451 through the air. This is something that the Tigers will have to remedy before the Big XII season gets into full swing.</p>
<p><em>Colorado St 17-38 Colorado</em></p>
<p>A good start for the Buffs in a comfortable win over their rivals in Colorado St. This day was exciting for those in Boulder for the debut of prized RB recruit Darrell Scott, yet his uncle and teammate Josh Smith stole the spotlight with a 93-yard kickoff return for a TD. In the end, Scott delivered his first TD and QB Cody Hawkins lead an efficient attack that never tailed the Rams.</p>
<p><strong>Most Impressive Big XII Players of the week:</strong></p>
<p><em>Offense:</em> QB Colt McCoy (Texas) - 24-29, 222 yards, 3 TDs; 12 carries, 103 yards and 1 TD</p>
<p><em>Defense: </em>LB Cody Glenn (Nebraska) - 12 TKL (9 UA), 2 1/2 TFL, 1 forced fumble and 3 PB</p>
<p><em>Special Teams:</em> WR Josh Smith (Colorado) - 198 total yards, 93-yard KR TD, 53.3 yards/KR</p>
<p><strong>National Scene</strong></p>
<p><em>Georgia Suthern 21-45 (1) Georgia</em></p>
<p>Georgia calmly beat their in-state foe. No real news to impart here, although it is interesting to think that Georgia gave up 21 points to a team like Georgia Suthern. I don't care that they all came in the second half after the starters were off the field, I don't remember dominant Husker teams from the 90s giving up 21 points when the third or fourth string was on the field. I guess what I'm saying is that although they were No. 1, Georgia is not by any means a dominant team - thus the reason why I don't think they'll finish near No. 1 by the end of the season.</p>
<p><em>Youngstown St 0-43 (2) Ohio St</em></p>
<p>A much better showing from a high ranked team. The Buckeyes didn't skip a beat when the backups went into the game, and I personally believe they were playing a tougher foe at that ... But the real story from this game is that "Beanie" Wells went out with an injury in the third quarter and will likely be held out of this up coming game against Ohio so that he'll be ready to go against USC on the 13th.</p>
<p><em>Virginia 7-52 (3) USC</em></p>
<p>This is the best showing of the weekend - and rightfully boosted the Trojans to No. 1 in this week's polls. The Trojans just ran over an aweful Virginia and just kept running home. The part that was scary is that really Mark Sanchez isn't completely back from his dislocated knee - I don't care why Pete Carroll or their staff tell me, it takes more than a week to get over that - and he still went 26-35 for 338, 3 TDs and an INT. Then you have the stable of amazing running backs, lead by Joe McKnight who only got 6 carries but went 60 yards on them. I don't envy Ohio St - who gets to play this team after USC gets a bye week to prepare. This is obviously the best team in the nation at the moment.</p>
<p><em>(24) Alabama 34-10 (9) Clemson</em></p>
<p>Domination, simply put that's what was witnessed at the Georgia dome on Saturday when Alabama completely shut down Clemson. Clemson came into the season sporting perhaps the best duo of RBs since Auburn in 2004 and yet those two backs combined for 8 carries and 20 yards. There is no other story. If Clemson can't get James Davis and C.J. Spiller the ball and some running room then they won't succeed. And on the other side, Alabama just went out and exicuted their gameplan. Just a good job of coaching by Nick Saban - no matter how much it pains me to admit that.</p>
<p>And last...</p>
<p><em>(18) Tennessee 24-27 OT UCLA </em></p>
<p>In what was somewhat of a surprise UCLA was able to upset Tennessee on Monday night. Some "experts" are claiming it wasn't an upset because of Tennessee breaking in a new quarterback and so on. However, they seem to forget the fact that UCLA was using Kevin Craft - QB choice #3 entering camp - as their starter, and lost their starting RB, TE and WR in the first half. Craft threw four INTs in the first half, but had the support of new Bruin's coach Rick Neuheisel coming out for the second half. Obviously Neuheisel's faith wasn't placed wrong as Craft lead the Bruins well, and forced an OT, where UCLA made their field goal try and Tennessee pushed theirs wide left. This was a truly entertaining game to watch. However it is a little early to start claiming that UCLA is "back" or that they can "stake a claim to LA." LA is still very much a USC town, and UCLA has a long long way to climb to be comparable to any of the elite Pac-10 teams, let alone national teams. But it's a good start for Slick Rick.</p>
<p>Well that was a quick look at all the Big XII games and some of the more important national games. Hope you enjoyed it. And if you disagree - or agree - with me on any of these, let me know.</p>
