Ga tau kenapa kemaren-kemaren gue sibuk banget bikin web pakai dreamweaver, sibuk nyari-nyari script, sibuk bikin anak :) huaha....

When I first heard the story of Josh Hamilton's drug addiction and other problems, it was a story of a former 1st overall draft pick that slipped through the cracks after falling into the wrong crowd. But a few years, one amazing first half of a season, and a stunning home run derby showing later, Josh Hamilton is now an inspiration to many americans and those battling the same addictions that he overcame. Because he was able to escape one of the problems that plagues parts of our country in this day and age and is able to play at the level at which he does, he is seen as a miracle from God. And perhaps the most inspirational part about it is the way in which he uses his story. He uses his past demons to let people know about the Grace of God and the fact that the Lord is always willing to give second chances, all you have to do is accept his help. Because of the ability to survive such an addiction, much less play baseball after it, and use his story as an inspiration to others and spread the word of God makes Josh Hamilton an American Hero for our day and age.

So, when did Brett Favre actually become a woman?

Watching him decide to retire (or not) over the past few season has been like watching my wife decide where to put a picture on the wall, except that she can come to a decision and stick with it better that he does.

I've never seen a male with a greater sense of entitlement while still maintaining the ability to constantly change his mind. Hey Brett, I went through 10,000 hours worth of Sportscenter bemoaning your retirement or the possibility thereof for the last couple of years. I'm tired of it. Go away already.

This guy feels that he, because he is Brett Favre, can expect his fans and former team to accept anything that he suggests. Obviously it is not in the Packers' best interest to bring him back at this point. They have committed to Aaron Rodgers. How could it possibly be in their interest to screw the quarterback that they have identified as the future of the club? According to Peter King, the packers offered to bring him back earlier this off season when rumors first began, but he flatly said that he did not want to return.

Favre, howver, expects to come back one way or another. The Packers own his rights, and have rightly decided to move on without him due to his retirement, but now that Brett wants to come back he is whining like a woman that he should be traded if they do not want to play him. The packers reportedly have said, and rightly so, "Screw that!" Why would it ever be their best interest to allow him to play for a team that they might have to meet during the season? That would be stupid, but Brett feels that they owe him this. Right.

I hope that they bring him back as a back-up (the prep squad would be even better), and put a gag order on the whole team (a la Bill Parcels). That way every time he whines to the media about it, they can just fine him and get part of his salary back.

Allow me to join the chorus, "We don't want you, Brett. Go back home to your goats."

Hong Kyung Min - "Tola wa tola wa (Come back, come back)" (feat. Mighty Mouth)

Track 1 / Vol. 9 "Keep Going" / Released 27 Jun 2008

Wow. A dance track from Hong Kyung Min. Okay, this can't be compared to the fashionable R&B dance numbers of Super Junior or the house/techno-influenced songs of Big Bang, but it's still worthy of listening given its quality arrangement (I like especially the energetic violins) and catchy tune. Actually, I think this kind of dance music suits Hong Kyung Min very well =) Nonetheless, Mighty Mouth's rapping does make a difference. At least, it doesn't sound old-fashioned to me ^^"

Hey stars and studs, Flame here. I just wanted to let you know about how I asked CP whatever happened to the Icerink scoreboards. Here is the email I sent:

What ever happened to the ice rink scoreboard? Me and my friends were just
wondering because in the old days we would meet up almost every Friday to play
hockey. But now its too hard because the score is so hard to keep via penguin.
We just wanted to know if it would be returning anytime soon.

Thanks!

-Theflame12

This is the email I got back:

Dear Theflame12,

There are a few penguins who have mentioned that they miss the scoreboards from
the Ice Rink. Many of the newer penguins don\'t even know there ever were
scoreboards! We\'re still working on a way to bring them back, but the we have
been very busy with other projects such as the Water party and getting ready
for Rockhopper\'s return. To read more about these, be sure to check out the
What\'s New blog:

http://community.clubpenguin.com/blog/

I don\'t know if we\'ll be able to bring back the scoreboards or not, but you
never know what could happen in the future! If there\'s anything else I can do
for you, please let me know.

Have a nice day,

For the newer Club Penguiners here are pics of the old scoreboards:

Ice Rink History:

You can also sit on the bench to be in the crowd and root for a team.

Before Snow Forts opens, The rink is look like room 1 of penguin chat football and it's very RARE!!!

In Mission 1, the circle on the upper left side (see picture) is cut by a penguin with a green snorkel. Therefore, some penguins believe there might be a new room under there. Some think that the penguin with a green snorkel opened one of the windows in the Cave(see picture) and dived up. That explains why there is water leaking.

The puck was a orange lava lamp in the 2006 April Fools party.

The Rink Nets were replaced by igloo objects in the 2006 April Fools party. On the right here was a refrigerator and on the left there was a rare desk!!

They added a scoring system during the 2006 Sports party and they kept it afterwards. However, a few months later they said they were having bugs with it and they removed it. They promised to put them back, but they never did. The puck also now doesn't work well.

During the 2007 Water Party, the Ice Rink became the Water Rink, and penguins could play water polo there, and push a volleyball into the goals.this reapeared at the water party 2008.

The puck was a pumpkin during Halloween 2007

There used to be a puffle that jumped up when you pointed at the lamp post toward the bottom of the screen. They had to remove it during the 2006 sports party, however, they never put it back.

In August 2006 there was a big hockey game between Team Red and Team Blue.

In April's Fool 2008, the sign "Super Rink" became "Super Duper Rink".

Do you think the scoreboards should return? Tell me in a comment.

Thanks for readin'

I’m in a fog. It’s nearly impossible to string words together to form coherent sentences

I'm in a fog. It's nearly impossible to string words together to form coherent sentences. A bottle of Tylenol and a half-empty package of NyQuil clutter my desk next to my laptop. My trashcan is filled with balled up sheets of toilet paper because I haven't been able to get to a store to buy tissues yet. It's 5 minutes past 8, and I'm probably going to bed soon.

Getting a cold during the summer is still one of life's greatest mysteries. I blame it on the rain because, well, it's raining right now (again) and I'm sick of looking out my window to see black clouds looming over the Masonic temple every night.

It didn't rain this weekend, which figures since I was sick and couldn't really take advantage. On Saturday I felt semi-human so I went to the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian with my friend Mike (we met through a mutual friend and he's JUST a friend). Afterward, we went to his apartment near Catholic University and I got to see the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. I loved the architecture on this church-- beautiful blue-tiled, domed roofs that reminded me of a church I saw in Zaragosa, Spain last summer.

Anyway, we got to his place and after his yellow lab/German shepherd puppy showered me in slobber, we plopped down and used my handy Washington D.C. guidebook to map out our night so we could try new places.

On the list:

Rice, a Thai restaurant on 14th St. Fantastic food, reasonable prices (for food, not drinks), quick service, quiet atmosphere, dim lighting for an intimate setting, and modern decor

Lauriol Plaza, a Mexican restaurant on 18th St. Well, by the time we got here, it was pretty much closed. We wanted to check out the rooftop area and have some margaritas, but this is not a place to head to after 11pm. We'll try again soon because the food and drinks looked delicious.

The Fox and the Hound For $4.95 you get a glass of liquor and a tiny bottle of mixer to add as you please-- not bad. A domestic beer is $4.25, so if you're not a liquor drinker you'll just get pissed off at your friends who are and can get drunk way cheaper than you can.

Reef, Adams Morgan I had never been to Adams Morgan before, but I really liked what I saw-- cheeky (I use this to mean cool names) bars with lots of young people. We got there really late so most of the places had long lines and expensive covers. Reef, however, NEVER has a cover and has a cool outdoor bar and a lower level with fish tanks. I spent a lot of my time finding Nemo and talking to some Australian guys who liked the dress I was wearing, saying it looked very "un-American." I think it was supposed to be a compliment.

That was the summary of my night. I started to feel nasally and congested again, so I left my friends at the bar and took the metro back home. I spent Sunday reading this outstanding memoir of a mother and daughter called Come Back by Claire and Mia Fontaine. It's one of the most poignant, heartbreaking pieces of writing I've ever read, and I encourage all of you to read it. Forget self-help books, this tale about two women's ability to overcome sexual abuse, drug addiction, and severe depression has everything you need to learn to love the life (and parents) you have.

Rating: 5 stars, hands-down.

There must be something in the stars with the year 2008. Not just Cyndi Lauper, Paula Abdul and SMiLe.dk, but Lara Fabian has decided it's time to sing again. New classical-inspired pop album is to be released by the end of the year. The album is recorded entirely in Qubec and as for song choice, quoting Fabian; " I've never sung these kinds of songs, certainly not in an entire album and not in this kind of arrangement..." I pray that it won't be one of those techno-disco albums... We already have Madonna, Kylie and Britney.

A fan meet & greet is set to be held in Belgium in October and then Paris.

She wanted me to find a suitable job for Shuchi as she had already completed her post graduation. I was more than happy to help my beloved niece. She was the “Jaan” of our family. Very intelligent, helpful, polite and always smiling. She was the apple of everyone’s eye. Shuchi was warm heartedly welcomed in our home. Within a short period she got a good job in a prestigious company. (Everybody thinks that I helped her, but she never needed any help. She was bright enough to get through on her own.)

Time passed and she got settled in her new job. Because of her good nature she became favourite with her colleagues, too! Her mother was now after me to find a suitable boy for Shuchi. When I told her this, she shyly mentioned about Ishwar.

Somehow, Ishwar gave not-so-good vibes!

Against our wishes, she got married to Ishwar (not one trait of his was anywhere near to his name!). She was so happy about the marriage that we all kept our doubts aside but still kept our fingers crossed. Suddenly after one month of the marriage, she called one day and told me that I should not keep any contact with her! She said this and “thuk” the line went dead. She never tried to contact us and I couldn’t as her number was no longer available. I got her news from my sister time to time. I tried to get her contact number or address from my sister but mysteriously she always denied stating that was what shuchi wanted. My sister was also worried but never told anything (I am not sure whether she knew anything herself!).

This was three years back. I never knew what happened to Shuchi or why she never kept contact, nothing!

That night I couldn’t sleep properly. Shuchi occupied my thoughts for no apparent reason.

At 6 in the morning the bell rang. I was sure it was Shuchi (don’t ask why, I myself don’t know!). I almost ran to open the door. As I opened the door, I got rooted. I was shocked to see Shuchi. I couldn’t recognize her. Her once beautiful face was scarred; she was so thin that even toothpick would look healthy! I asked her to come inside, almost as an after thought. She limped inside!

“I am not going to that hell again!” she said without any emotion.

I wanted to kill that bastard who did what I saw to my beloved child.

There were so many questions in my mind. What actually happened? Why did she keep up to this brutality for so long? When did all these start? Why she never informed any of these to us? Why she never ran away before?

But looking at her, I did not have heart to ask her anything. I slowly inched towards her and gave a hug. She started crying. Slowly initially, and then copiously, relentlessly! I let her cry...

She needed medical attention immediately for her physical as well as psychological trauma.

As weeks passed she started showing some colour on her face.

Today I am very happy. Shuchi gave her first smile today! Ah, that lovely smile!

I wanted to know many things which are still unanswered, but I am in no hurry.

P.S. Have not told Shuchi that I and her mother have filed a case against her husband. He is in police custody and the case is in the court. The court has agreed to call Shuchi as a witness only when her condition stabilizes.

This is kinda overacting but I am just too happy that Wheesung is back. Thanks to Krnloop for that fresh post. Wheesung will be having his concert after resting for couple of months since his vocal chord operations last February.

He is set to have a concert in Osaka Japan at the Matsushita IMP Hall on June 15. Japanese fans are so lucky to see Wheesung comeback not to mention its just 1000 seats. I am pretty sure this is a very intimate concert having a not so big crowd -- so envious!

What makes this news so special is that Wheesung has FULLY RECOVERED from that vocal chord operations. What a way to deliver such good news...a concert in Japan. I hope his performance gets posted in You Tube after oh how I really wish. It's been a long time; the last performances posted in You Tube were January guestings. I wonder how he sound now, must be a lot better.

I also heard that he is working on his 6th album what could have be the theme? What was his insipirations in this forthcoming album. Eternal Essence of music is blatant display of how good he is in singing. He gave life to songs from different genres in this album. On his 6th album what am I to expect from Wheesung? Pretty exciting! Just thinking.. since this is the 6th album hmmm i wish for that album to touch my six senses hahaha figuratively maybe.

I can feel the stress of Veronique Nichanian every season when I look at Hermès male line. When compared to its other half, "bad boy" Jean Paul Gaultier, Nichanian is like the big sister who can't cross the line especially because Hermès has got to remain classy. Even she can use the world's most extortionate fabrics and materials, Nichanian needs to remain discreet and subtle in her design concept. That's why you need to look at Hermès design from a another perspective. For instance, this season Nichanian put her creativity in unconventional duos like dark and vibrant colours, raw material and detailed cutting...etc. As if she is taking Jean Paul Gaultier on.

Nichanian intelligently made the male line of Hermès look as if they're very comfortable, with a pinch of creativity. In case this does not come out as legendary, it would at least work as a fashion "herbal tea", providing homeopathic stress relief for the fashion audience. I noticed that there are some uneven collar shirts, showing a minor characteristic of a rebellious boy perhaps, or maybe she's trying to create gentleman with a twist.

Trendpick: Shearling Chic: Shearling ching's big coats is a new come back, becoming fall/winter's new love. Hermès, however, focuses on the collar of shearling, laying low yet following the trend.

Enjoy:

Throughout my life, I've come across a great number of songs that I've identified as being exceptional and have often wished that I wrote those particular songs myself. After a long night of books and a few MGDs I have decided to narrow this list down to a lean 20 and share them with you, along with the reasons why I picked them.

These are not necessarily my 20 favorite songs of all time, but are the type I strive for as a songwriter. There are several tunes that I could've put here, but I'll never be even close to writing, so they're nowhere near the list. In the meantime, such a list would likely contain a good portion of these songs.

This is a surprisingly well-distributed group of songs with at least one tune from every year from 1993-2007 with the exception of 1999 (likely because I was in an awful KoRn/Limp Bizkit phase...*shudder*). The way it turned out, most bands only have one song on the list, with the exception of 3 of my all-time favorite bands, which contributed 3 each.

If there are any of these songs that you haven't heard, I highly recommend you give 'em a download and try them on for size. They are presented in a rough chronological order from release date. Now, without further Apu...

1. Smashing Pumpkins - "Cherub Rock"

I first heard this song at a volleyball tournament in juniour high. That was my first exposure to the band that would eventually become my favourite of all time and I remember it very vividly. I went on to pick up guitar mostly because of this song and can still play it note for note to this day. Despite the fact that I haven't worked on my lead skills in years, the solo to this tune is still embedded in my fingers. The crunch of the distortion is perfect, the drums are killer, and this is easily some of Billy's best vocal work ever. The opening buildup is so amazing.

2. Weezer - "Say It Ain't So"

Every guitar note in this song is perfect. The riff is iconic, the little clean fills are really cool, the solo is super melodic, and the bends in the chorus are genius. The main vocal line in the chorus is known by 99% of the people I've ever met and rightfully so. It's one of the greatest hooks of the 90's. I remember a friend bringing this CD into music class in juniour high and I went out and bought it the very next day. Still one of the top 10 CDs in my collection.

3. Smashing Pumpkins - "Thru the Eyes of Ruby"

Although "Cherub Rock" got me into the Pumpkins, this song has kept me with them all these years. In my eyes, all 7 minutes and 38 seconds are damn near perfect. The piano intro, the opening and middle builds, the crushing riffs, the quiet verses, the departure from the verse-chorus-verse structure, the hints of progressive rock, and the acoustic closing reprise make up one of the most epic tunes in my catalog. The line "youth is wasted on the young" will someday make it into a tattoo on my body.

4. Spacehog - "In the Meantime"

Funny enough, this is the only song I've ever really liked by Spacehog, but boy did they nail it. You'd have a hard time finding a groovier bass riff than this one. The chorus is super catchy and everything about this song grabs my attention. This song likely led to the lead singer meeting and eventually marrying Liv Tyler. Yet another reason why I need to write a song like this one.

5. Smashing Pumpkins - "Marquis in Spades"

This song has so many wicked riffs jammed into 3:13 that it blows my mind. The main reason I wish I wrote this song is that Billy straight-up wasted it. This was actually a Mellon Collie reject, if you can believe it. Luckily it resurfaced on their B-Sides collection Judas O in 2000.

6. Foo Fighters - "Everlong"

The Colour and the Shape was easily one of the most influential records of my childhood and continues to be one of my favourites to this day. Just about every song on it could be on this list, but I narrowed it down to this one. There isn't another song that comes to mind that sounds at all like "Everlong". It's a gloomy song that still manages to pack an amazing punch. Just further proof that Dave Grohl is the man. I still wish I knew what's being whispered in that breakdown.

7. Our Lady Peace - "Car Crash"

This song gives me chills and I've always wanted to capture how it manages to do that. Clumsy is another one of my favourite albums of all time and this song has always stood out to me. I'm a sucker for that bass line and Raine's falsetto work is insane. The overall sound of this album has been one of the biggest influences on my songwriting.

8. Pearl Jam - "Brain of J."

There are so many good Pearl Jam songs, but for some reason this short, punchy opener to Yield has always been my favourite. Something about the way Eddie Vedder sings the chorus with that little slip up into falsetto slays me. It's short, to the point, and it's awesome.

9. Harvey Danger - "Why I'm Lonely"

Very few people know who Harvey Danger are, unless you count that one semi-hit they managed off the American Pie soundtrack. Thankfully, they kept chugging away once the spotlight died down and managed to produce even better stuff. This song has such a cool groove and I've always loved the way this band uses the bass more as a lead instrument than the guitar or keyboard. The lyrics in this song are so intelligent and way over my head, but I love them. Such a smart band and so painfully underrated. Listen to them. Now.

10. Queens of the Stone Age - "In The Fade"

I love so many Queens of the Stone Age songs, but this one has always been tops for me. The bass riff just takes you for a ride and every riff, word, and decoration are exactly where they should be. Live 'til you die. Words to live by.

11. Jimmy Eat World - "Get It Faster"

This song packs such a punch. The quiet, palm-muted verses are such a great set up for when the chorus comes in to kick your ass. The bridge riff makes such smart use of stereo panning and gives so much depth to such a cool riff. The line "I'm finding out that cheating gets it faster" is brilliant.

12. Matthew Good Band - "Truffle Pigs"

Matthew Good is one of the only songwriters I know who can lace his songs with profanity without it ever coming off as anything other than tasteful. This song is full of curse words, but you never feel like they shouldn't be there. The main riff is so bouncy, but still manages to capture the deep overall tone of the song. His transition from falsetto to a regular singing voice in the chorus is so hard to do, yet handled with such ease. Should've been a single, hands down.

13. Foo Fighters - "Come Back"

When a band writes a song over 7 minutes, there is no in between. Either it's one of their best songs ever or it should've been cut down considerably. In this case, it's most definitely the former. The way this song dies away and builds back up piece by piece is one of my favourite moments in any song, ever. I tried to do the same type of thing when I wrote "Not Alone", but I could never do it this well. I can listen to this tune on infinite repeat and never get bored of it. I hear something new that I love every single time.

14. Silverchair - "Greatest View"

The main riff in this song is a great example of the type of riffs I like. Small interval movements, extended resolution, and hard hitting. The orchestral colouring is a great example of what makes the later Silverchair stuff so incredible. Daniel John's voice is friggin' unreal.

15. Finger Eleven - "Thousand Mile Wish"

I'm surprised that Finger Eleven made it onto this list, but I can't deny how much I love the atmosphere of this song. The fretless bass is amazing and the overall mood is something I've definitely tried to emulate more than once. My song "Pedestal" is admittedly a ripoff of this song.

16. Matthew Good - "Lullaby for the New World Order"

The strings in this song are so good. I love Good's orchestration on this album and particularly on this song. The lyrics and the way he sings them are better than words can describe. This is definitely what I'd like my music to sound like, if I could ever sing a tenth as good as he does.

17. Matthew Good - "House of Smoke and Mirrors"

I love my rock and roll, but when a soft song pulls my heart just right, it does so with a vengeance. Beautiful isn't even a good enough word to describe this song. This is Good's voice at its absolute best. It gives me shivers in my spine in such a good way.

18. Incubus - "Sick Sad Little World"

This is another one of those long songs that does everything right. The opening/chorus riff is yet another example of the way I like to write my riffs. Long and bouncy. The tremolo picking part in the verse is so cool and I really adore the way the chorus drops off from the busyness of the rest of the song. Makes the rest of it seem even more frantic. The extended solo is Mike Einziger's finest moment caught on tape.

19. City & Colour - "Confessions"

Dallas Green is one of my best discoveries of the past few years. I'm amazed at how well his voice can fit something as thrashing as Alexisonfire but then still work perfectly with his own brooding acoustic music as well. I'm a big fan of theme-based songs when they're done right, and the whole court/justice/law metaphor in this song is done really well. He says everything he should've said and threw in such a great little chorus melody for good measure. Love it.

20. Foo Fighters - "Stranger Things Have Happened"

I love the stripped down approach to this song. Two guitars and the softer side of Dave's voice are a deadly combination. I was originally against the metronome in the background, but now I realize that it really adds to the intimate feeling of the recording. I really wish I could come up with something like that bluesy opening riff. It sets the perfect tone for the rest of the song, which boasts a great anthemic chorus and a very soulful acoustic solo. Love it.
