Cristiano Ronaldo herstelt van een enkelblessure en heeft veel tijd om uit te gaan. Toen Ronaldo zijn entree maakte in de Villa-club, baande Paris zich een weg tussen de verschillende vrouwelijke bewonderaarsters. Ze probeerde met haar boezem tegen hem aan te wrijven, maar C-Ron negeerde haar.

Mới 23 tuổi đã làm "thất điên bát đảo" Real Madrid trong vòng nhiều tháng qua, Ronaldo sẽ không chuyển đến CLB Hoàng gia Tây Ban Nha trong mùa hè này.

Theo những tin tức chính thức từ trại tập huấn của United tại Nam Phi, địa điểm mà Quỷ Đỏ chọn để "rèn quân" vào mùa hè này, Sir Alex dõng dạc khẳng định về tương lai của cậu học trò.

Me picó la curiosidad y decidí contar cuantas portadas ha dedicado MARCA a Cristiano Ronaldo. 10 de 19 en Julio (y aún quedan unos cuantos días de este mes), 7 en Junio (y eso que estaba de por medio la Eurocopa de fútbol que ganó España), 13 en Mayo y 4 en Abril. La primera portada dedicada a Cristiano fue la del 15 de Abril que se ve en la imagen y desde entonces la presencia del internacional luso no ha parado hasta copar más de un 50% de las portadas de MARCA en lo que va de Julio y su posible fichaje por el Madrid aún no se ha consumado, pero supongo que para MARCA eso es lo de menos, cuanto más tarde en realizarse el fichaje más periódicos podrán vender con Cristiano en la portada.

La isla de Madeira que da nombre al archipiélago tiene una superficie de 741 kilómetros cuadrados y es la mayor de todas. Su capital es Funchal y se encuentra situada en la costa sur de la isla.

Uno de los grandes atractivos que ofrece es el clima que siempre se mantiene en temperaturas tibias por lo que no hace ni mucho calor en verano ni mucho frío en invierno, lo que favorece a su flora y a su fauna. Para los amantes de las flores, es recomendable visitar el Museo Botánico de Funchal. Los parques están muy cuidados y las veces que he estado me he encontrado algún festival de la flor o algo similar lo que refleja la importancia que tiene dentro de su cultura.

Otro dato destacable es su inexistente índice de criminalidad lo que la convierten en una de los destinos mas seguros del mundo.

Y como dato anecdótico, el futbolista Cristiano Ronaldo es originario de Funchal.

Como llegar

En avión - Salvo que haya cambiado recientemente, no existen vuelos directos desde España. La salida que yo hice fue desde Madrid, haciendo escala en Lisboa. Para los vuelos, los buscadores que mas me gustan son Edreams y Terminal A.

En barco - El puerto de Funchal queda relativamente cerca del centro, por lo que se puede ir dando un paseo en el que además se puede contemplar uno de los parques llenos de flores que mencionaba anteriormente.

Donde Alojarse

La oferta hotelera de Madeira es amplia y ya dependerá del presupuesto de cada uno y de la zona en la prefiera quedarse:

• Lujo - Choupana Hills Resort and Spa. Situado en una ladera a unos 15 minutos del centro de Funchal (300 euros aprox )
• Semi Lujo - Quinta Mirabela - Un pequeño hotel situado en la bahía y que tiene espectaculares vistas (Es donde yo me alojé). Aproximadamente unos 100 euros en Atrapalo en la actualidad.
• Turista - El equivalente a las 3 estrellas pueden encontrarse en los buscadores a precios mas baratos que en España. Tanto Atrapalo como Viajes Iberia suelen manejar buenos precios.

  Gastronomía

La gastronomía local está basada en los productos del mar, donde el atún y el pez espada juegan un papel importante al igual que el marisco. Si bien a mi me llamaron la atención más los platos de carne y la forma de prepararlos como el caso de la "carne en vinha de alhos", una carne de cerdo adobada con un montón de especias o la "espetada" que es una brocheta a la parrilla envuelta en laurel.

El vino de Madeira es un poco la joya de la corona, y tanto en restaurantes como en tiendas de souvenirs se enorgullecen del mismo. Merece la pena probar el verdelho por aquello de lo diferente.

Nosotros casi siempre utilizamos la fórmula del chiringuito para comer. Al ser una ciudad muy turística te los encuentras por todas partes y se trata de ir probando. Por citaros alguno que recuerde sobre manera, el restaurante O Tapassol y La churrasqueria Galinha Dourada.

Que visitar

En este apartado voy a explicar lo que hicimos nosotros en la escala del crucero pero teniendo en cuenta que ya conocimos la isla por lo que os daré también algunas alternativas que podéis hacer si no lo conocéis.

Escala de crucero - La escala es de día completo por lo que hay tiempo para visitar con tranquilidad lo que uno decida, o incluso combinar un par de cosas dependiendo del ritmo que se quiera llevar.

Si sales caminando del barco, en media hora aproximadamente llegarás al funicular que sube a Monte y en el que se pueden disfrutar de unas magníficas vistas.

En nuestro caso, para evitar las colas, decidimos ir primero al mercado de lavradores que si bien no deja de ser un mercado al que si no estuviésemos de turismo no le prestaríamos atención, una vez allí te pones en faena y a ver pescados enormes.

El funicular llega hasta Monte, donde desde el Miradouro das Neves se puede ver el barco en la lejanía.

La mayoría baja en una de las atracciones locales por excelencia de Funchal y que son unas cestas grandes de mimbre en el que a modo de tobogán te llevan de vuelta. También se puede bajar en autobús.

Una vez a nivel del mar es el momento para las compras, donde el vino de Madeira, el mimbre o los dulces especiados cobran protagonismo.

Se puede comer en alguno de los chiringuitos turísticos que hay, hasta la hora del embarque.

Estancia mas larga - Ya sea alquilando un coche o cogiendo taxis o autobuses. (Nosotros cogimos autobús).

• Cámara de Lobos - Pequeña bahía junto a Funchal que debe su nombre a la cantidad de lobos marinos que hay, es donde podremos observar las mejores panorámicas de la isla.
• Sao Vicente - A través de una espectacular carretera podemos ver los acantilados. Una vez allí, se visitan sus Grutas.
• Cabo Girao - Situado a unos dos kilómetros de Cámara de Lobos, asciende hasta casi los 600 metros sobre el nivel del mar.

"Puedo decir que Ronaldo seguirá en el Manchester United el próximo año, no le venderemos", aseguró Ferguson durante una rueda de prensa en Ciudad del Cabo, en la que su equipo realizará tres partidos de exhibición.

El ariete luso, de 23 años y ligado a un hipotético traspaso al Real Madrid, está actualmente recuperándose de una operación reciente en su lesionado tobillo derecho.

So Paris goes in for the hit......but nothing happens! He totally ignores her advances as well as those from all the other women sweatin' him in the room and just kicks it with his mates leaving all of these girlies heartbroken.

A source said: "Paris was all over him. The moment he arrived, she went over to his private table. At one point, she pushed her chest together and made a point of trying to snuggle up against him.

Anyhoo, of late Man United supporters have been pissing me off. Everyone of those red clowns seem to have the same opinion over the whole Ronaldo issue that it is us who are to be blamed for Ronaldo not feeling home at Manchester. Where the f**k is your brain you piece of shyte, I ask?!? Moreover they are now totally turning against us. Those who don't want to do that are saying Ronaldo will surely leave but will suck like he's in Barcelona. A few others say that we'll spend 1 zillion on him and will gain nothing over the deal and there are a bunch of dumb ducks who believe that we will give United half our squad, Ramon Calderon's Mercedes plus a portion of the Bernabeu in a trade which includes Ronaldo in exchange. Stupid people!

In all seriousness, Cristiano Ronaldo is not yet in Madrid. For that matter he would be out of action for 12 weeks i.e. until the middle of October which means that there is plenty of time for him to sit and think about his future. What he should also decide is to not contact anyone till he decides where he would be next season. But the problem doesn't stop there. Everyone in his family are also giving out all kinds of weird interviews which are making both sets of fans furious. It was his sister this time, who said that he will stay at Old Trafford.But then he himself made it clear that he does not have an agreement with Real or any sort of nonsense like that.

I agree completely with the president of Fifa. Now I have to wait and see, but I do not know where I will begin the season. It is not true that I have an agreement with Real Madrid, there is no agreement.

Two others who have been linked with Real are Didier Drogba and Rafael van der Vaart. We might need a striker but definitely not someone like Drogba at least for the upcoming season. We all now how fickle minded he really his but he has said that he would consider a move to Real. I hope he reconsiders his consideration. The Dutch bloke, meanwhile has been linked with Real for the nth season in running. Initially he remained quiet on rumors but later rejected them, something that was expected. But I would love to see him play for us. We'd have the top four Dutch players in our team if he does sign for us.

In other news, Robinho, who btw along with Marcelo has been called up for Brazil's Olympic football team, apparently wants a move. Initially it was Chelsea who were keen on him but despite our President's reiteration that Robinho still remains in our plans, there have been rumors that Barcelona are interested in signing him. I am not worried about Robinho. I am very sure that he is going to remain at Real if Ronaldo doesn't come. All these rumors are being spread only because he was our best player last season and was so dominant on the flanks. I see no reason for him to look for a move otherwise.

Fernando Gago will join Argentina's Olympic football team as well and they say that Higuain too might be called up. With de la Red's return it would be interesting to see how our midfield would shape up.

Julio Baptista too has been on the news. He apparently has quite a few options as various teams like Galatasaray, Roma and Newcastle are supposedly interested in signing him. If a Premier League signs him even after his last stint in England then it only means that they want him for reasons other than football. No offence meant but England just isn't the right place for him. His agent says Roma and I agree with him. He has been a good player for us but I'm sure that we can definitely find a few better players to replace him. ANother striker who has options is Roberto Soldado. Getafe are interested it seems. And when I thought Alvaro Negredo was on his way back here, Real decided not to use their buy-back clause on him.

Players who have confirmed their departure are Javier Balboa, Pablo Garcia and Esteban Granero. Javier Balboa has joined SL Benfica with former Real Under-20 and Valencia coach, Quique Sanchez Flores. I don't blame him. He is an exceptional talent but not good enough to be a first team regular. Whereas, Real Madrid C.F. and Pablo García have agreed to rescind the player's football contract. Granero joins Getafe and it looks as though we've made some cash out of this. He was on loan at Getafe the whole of last season and has now made his move permanent. I badly wanted to see him play in a white shirt but I guess I'm just not lucky enough. It is believed that Madrid valued the player at around €24m (£18.4m).I wish both of them very good luck and hope that they make us proud for having nurtured them through the youth system.

If you remember our President Ramon Calderon was at the center court of Wimbledon to cheer for Rafael Nadal in his final against Roger Federer. The person who was sitting in front of him was India's sports minister MS Gill. Apparently the two of them spoke to each other and the latter wants Real to come to India. So do I!!!!

Our next game would be a friendly on the 27th of July against a first division Austrian team Lask Linz. Here is our pre-season schedule. Also, the league fixtures have been announced. We play our first league game at the Riazor in La Coruna against Deportivo.

Estas palavras foram ditas, por Alex Ferguson, depois da reunião que manteve em Lisboa com o craque Português, adianta o jornal a Marca e o jornal Ás.

O treinador do Manchester United disse ainda que Cristiano Ronaldo, iria continuar jogador do Manchester na próxima temporada.

Parece, assim, que Ferguson conseguiu convencer  o craque Lusitano a permanecer no clube inglês e a esquecer o Real Madrid, com os seus milhões de euros.

Al respecto, cabe señalar que la madre de Cristiano Ronaldo jamás ha estado de acuerdo con la relación entre el jugador y su actual novia, a la que considera una ‘cazafortunas’.

Sea como fuere, y mientras distintos medios especulan sobre el posible final del romance, el futbolista del Manchester United se dejó ver en el Club Villa, un local de moda en Hollywood al que acudió con dos amigos y en el que estuvo con cuatro despampanantes señoritas que en ningún momento se separaron del famoso jugador. Su presencia despertó tal grado de expectación que incluso la modelo Paris Hilton quiso conocer al futbolista. Cristiano, por su parte, apenas mostró interés por ella.

Ante la sorpresa de todos, y pese a no poder caminar bien tras su reciente operación de tobillo, el jugador dejó por unos momentos las muletas en el suelo y se lanzó a bailar. No parece, ni mucho menos, que sea aconsejable bailar en las condiciones actuales de Cristiano Ronaldo, jugador por el que el Real Madrid podría pagar hasta cien millones de euros a los ‘diablos rojos’.

En lo que se refiere a los gastos de la noche, el portugués soltó unos 14.000 euros en vodka, vino y champagne, dado que invitó a varias rondas a todos los presentes, según informa el rotativo inglés ‘Daily Mirror’. Cristiano vistió pantalones blancos, chaqueta de lino color crema, camiseta blanca y cinturón y zapatos del mismo tono. Su presencia, obviamente, no pasó inadvertida para los medios de comunicación, que le fotografiaron en el lugar donde se celebró la fiesta.

Después de más de tres horas en el famoso local nocturno de Hollywood, Cristiano Ronaldo se retiró a sus aposentos en una limusina, de nuevo ante la curiosidad de muchos de los presentes. En definitiva, que el hecho de estar convaleciente de una operación no fue obstáculo para que el jugador optara por cruzar el charco con motivo de una fiesta. Cristiano, además, se interesó por cómo le van las cosas a David Beckham en Los Angeles Galaxy. Quizá, dentro de algunos años, al portugués le llegue una jugosa oferta del ‘soccer’.

Cristiano también se fué de fiesta por Los Angeles.

En esa reunión, Cristiano le confirmó lo que todo el mundo esperaba, que se quiere marchar del Manchester y que su sueño ahora mismo es jugar en el Madrid. También le recordó que le prometió que le dejaría salir del United si se conseguían títulos. Con la Champions y la Premier, Cristiano le dijo que tendría que cumplir su promesa.

Reproches. El jugador le confesó que sólo quiere regresar a Manchester para hacer la mudanza, pero que no quiere volver a la disciplina del equipo. Además, le dijo que todas las declaraciones que ha hecho han sido porque así lo pensaba y que esperaba que el United no le hiciera la vida imposible en su camino hacia el Madrid. Por último le recriminó las amenazas que le hizo Ferguson a través de los medios de comunicación ("Antes de venderlo, a la grada", le dijo el técnico a los Glazer, dueños del club).

Ferguson escuchó todos los reproches de su todavía jugador y le echó en cara que no se hubiera presentado en Manchester. Le dijo que estaba dispuesto a venderlo a cualquier club menos al Madrid. Tras la conversación, Cristiano se mantiene en sus trece de que no volverá a Manchester nunca más diga lo que diga.

Tendrán que volver a hablar cuando el equipo regrese de Suráfrica porque el tiempo apremia y Cristiano quiere irse ya, todo esto según el la televisión lusa.

Yeah, according to the newsoftheworld online, our dearly beloved Nereida "has been telling pals she and Ronaldo are still an item.

She told one: "He doesn't understand all the rumours he's dumped me and says he hasn't taken any girls home. Unless there's any proof to suggest otherwise, I believe my boy."  Poor girl, she should buy all those tabloids and read between the lines.

Since Ronaldo doesnt want to say the reason why he broke up with Nereida, but we all know why. He is now ready to forget the word Nereida ever existed. LA provided all the fun he wants and just before the "new brunette thing" happened, Mailonline in an exclusive says "before tonight's fun, a flirtatious Ronaldo was spotted flirting in a hotel pool with two bikini-clad girls. Onlookers said he was anxious to catch the eye of one blonde guest in particular as he soaked up the sun and worked on his tan."

Ah, life is really fun. When another girl gets the boot, another girl is waiting in the wings. To be Ronaldo, it really is good to be a slave... And it looks he will be staying at Old Trafford for now.

Some disgruntled, ignorant numpties are having a poke at Manchester United this morning, crying "hypocrite", and claiming that in our bid for Dimitar Berbatov, we are no better than Real Madrid, "tapping up" the player and fomenting dissent and general rebelliousness and such.   Well, we are better, and I'll show you why.    Then I'll get back to my coffee and croissant, which are ever so much more important than the words of  a bunch of nose-picking scousers. 

I searched the archives at The Guardian, a broadsheet that in general I respect, for the facts on United's "pursuit" of Berbatov over the past year or so.   I used the key words Berbatov and Manchester United.  I ignored match reports and game day news.  Setting aside the "Transfer Rumours" column (which like  every tabloid and broadsheet is just a mishmash of heresay and gossip), and  focusing on actual quotes from the significant players in the transfer situation, here's the breakdown:

April I8 2007: 

Sir Alex Ferguson:  "We have three targets and the club's owners are aware of who I want. David Gill [the chief executive] is aware too. There is competition for the best players and, if there is competition, they will cost.  You look through the world and say to yourself: 'where are all the strikers?' There are not a lot of them going around, believe me.  We are always an attraction for new players because we have 76,000 watching us every week and this club has a celebrity status throughout the world. However, the real competition comes when you have to pay £27m for Essien. Chelsea can do that. We are trying to identify players as quietly as we can so we can do the deals as quickly, and as quietly, as we can."

May 4 2007: 

Martin Jol:  "I have no fears. To nobody and in no circumstances [will Berbatov be sold]. The chairman wouldn't sanction it even if I would like to.  We always keep our best players, 99% over the last five or six years, even before my time and I don't see any reason why we shouldn't. We've made a lot of profit over the last six months so we don't have to sell players."

May 9 2007:

Dimitar Berbatov's agent, on speculation if Berbatov  would remain at White Hart Lane for a minimum of of one more season. "Nothing has changed - except for the number of goals that he has scored.  He is very happy with Tottenham."

August 25 2007: 

Berbatov's agent Emil Dantchev claimed United have been in touch again with a firm offer and he will meet Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy at some stage next week to discuss the interest.

David Gill:   "Manchester United is linked with many players in every transfer window.  The club has categorically not made a bid for Dimitar Berbatov."

Sir Alex Ferguson: "We made an inquiry about a striker not so long ago. The club concerned would not sell and it remains that way.  With a week to the transfer deadline, it would be impossible to get anyone else in now."

August 28 2007:

Dimitar Berbatov:  "No one said that United didn't have interest in me and my price in general but it has to be clear that there will not be a move this fall [autumn].  It's unlikely for two reasons. Firstly, no one from United has talked to either me or my agent and, secondly, my club hasn't received any official transfer [offer]. I chose to join Tottenham last season. Now I'm staying at the club through my own free will - at least for now, while my contract is in force."

November 6 2007:

Tottenham Hotspur's sporting director Damien Comolli:  "I met with Dimitar's agent today and he assured me Dimitar is not looking for a move in January and simply wants to concentrate on helping the team push up the table. He is on a long-term contract with us and Juande [Ramos] sees him as an important part of our plans."

Emil Dantchev:  "I don't see why having coffee with him (Comolli) means there is difficulty for Berbatov at Tottenham.  It is a normal meeting; Dimitar is under contract with Tottenham and it is just a meeting to discuss general questions, nothing special."  When asked about the interest from Old Trafford, Dantchev added: "That question is formulated from a situation that doesn't exist. If there is something concrete, of course everyone will hear the information but don't make a question for something that doesn't happen at the moment."

December 31 2007:

Emil Dantchev:  "I have told the chairman, Daniel Levy, that if a club that corresponds to Dimitar's class and ambition comes in with an offer that suits his current club in January, he would like to be allowed to go. Fans must understand that Dimitar is 27 next month and time is running out for him to play for a club that can match his ambition. Two clubs outside Europe and one from the Premier League are interested in him."

January 7 2008:

Dimitar Berbatov:  "It's getting absurd. I'm fed up of seeing my name in the papers all the time. I think the papers went too far. It's obvious that the speculation will continue to the end but I wish the press would leave me alone. I just want to play my game.  The worst thing is that I see 'my' quotes which I've never said and it's something that makes me feel bad." 

April 17 2008:

Emil Dantchev:  "He is 27 years old and he needs to win trophies.  It is time he was transferred to a club that regularly plays in the Champions League. There are seven to eight clubs in Europe interested and we know them well."

July 1 2008:

Sir Alex Ferguson:   "Now it is all over (Euro 2008),  things will settle down. Managers are back at clubs, back at training and you can get some dialogue now if you are interested in somebody but I wouldn't think [we will sign] any more than one player."

July 17 2008:

Sir Alex Ferguson:  "We have bid for one player who would enhance us a great deal."

July 18, 2008:  The Sun is reporting that Sir Alex Ferguson has identified the "one player" as Dimitar Berbatov.    There is no other source for this story.

So, can anyone point out to me where exactly Manchester United has erred in the past year with respect to Berbatov?   To compare the conduct of Manchester United  with the nauseating and unethical behaviour of Ramon Calderon is ignorant and petty.  Now, I'll get back to my coffee and croissant.  Enjoy your day.
