Mais um ano o engraçadinho do Mignon apresentou o Prêmio... ele até que tenta né, mas tem umas piadinhas que não colam mais... Fala toda vida, nem respira... ele sabe conduzir, isso é fato, coisa que os apresentadores do Prêmio Multishow esse ano não conseguiram...

O NxZero levou vários prêmios, os principais da night, como o de "Artista do Ano". São uma gracinha né!? Fofos!

A Penélope, que já era de se esperar, se superou no vestido. Estava realmente "empacotada" para presente! A mí no me gusta!

O Junior, ex-Sandy (!) agora tá na banda nova do Champignon (ex-Charlie Brown), Nove Mil Anjos.. endoidaram... rock pancadão.

Agora esse aí tava "bem". D2, em sua primeira performance, cantou direitinho e tal, como mandava o figurino (aliás, ele mandou bem na escolha da roupa, quase que irreconhecível)... porém, depois, quando foi escolhido como "Cantor dos Sonhos".... tava doidasssssso, transtornado... deu medo!!! Mas o fato cômico foi o Chimbinha ser escolhido como "Guitarrista dos Sonhos"... Dos sonhos de queeeeeeeeeem? Pesadelo da minha linda vida!

Estranhos esse povo do Fresno... Mas a música com o Chitãozinho e Xororó ficou mt boa!

Ahh, não posso deixar de comentar... levaram o Ben Harper para apresentar um Prêmio com a Vanessa da Mata... o coitado nem se movia, não tava entendendo nada, ngm nem se querer falou uma palavrinha em inglês no momento, a Vanessa ainda falou uma frase com ele em português.. aiai, miséria.

Putz, mas um dos momentos mais legais foi o Marcelo Adnet... o menino manda bem. Todo final de bloco ele fazendo uma performance.. mt bom.

O show feito em homenagem a Bezerra da Silva, em 2007, no Fundição Progresso, virou CD e DVD. O disco se chama Tributo a Bezerra da Silva e traz grandes interpretações de artistas como Pedro Luís e a Parede, Max de Castro, Leci Brandão e Nação Zumbi.

O repertório do álbum conta, em sua maior parte, com músicas desconhecidas do público, que só se empolga em duas faixas: Malandragem, com Barão Vermelho e A Semente, que une D2 e João Gordo.

Bezerra era bastante criticado por fazer músicas com temas pesados, mas, nos últimos tempos, ganhou fama e status em grupos cools. Para quem não sabe, o cara era considerado o embaixador dos morros e favelas e sua música mais conhecida é Malandragem dá um Tempo.

Desde el corazón de Granada nace una iniciativa denominada "GranaRap 1ª Edición". Donde en un mismo espectáculo se juntan actuaciones con poca duración de varios artistas encabezado por un mismo Deejay: Dj Dedos (D2). Es asi que en el mismo escenario encontramos una representación de muchos grupos de rap del panorama provicial como: Stylo Propio, Hipátia, Tranceh, Rapsodia, SubZero, Asube, Duke, Kako, RapAdictos, Señales Ocultas, Cisma, Masacre Verbal, Caballeros del Estigma, Ayax, Versátiles, Adan, D´azul, Arek y Clave maestra. Al mismo tiempo que otras actividades correlativas al Hiphop como Breakdance, Turntablism y Graffiti.

Junto a este show estará también la actuación de Subzero, presentando su próximo trabajo: Les Enfants Terribles. Una batalla de Freestyle y una sorpresa.

After hearing the announcement of the next game, I, of course, installed Diablo and Diablo 2 (+LoD) onto my computer to give these old games a whirl. I haven't played this series since my junior year in high school, more or less, which means for about five years. Like any game from so long ago--that I haven't played in a while--it loses the wow factor it once had.

Don't get me wrong, these games are classics. They are fun, and I enjoy the story. If a game entertains me, it succeeds. However, it is so odd to become so frustrated with things that weren't such a big deal five to six years ago. To be fair, I'm pretty sure Diablo 2 is about eight years old, and I'm probably spoiled by all the new features of video games.

It was amazing to see people still playing on battle.net after all these years. What was more shocking was all the ads and spambots either trying to steal your account or send you to sites to buy D2 items (and probably steal your account/cd key).

This two discoveries lead me to my next two discussion points. One, obviously, Diablo 3 will use battle.net and not be an MMO. Well, we knew that because Blizzard said so in the announcement, but we also knew it before it was announced because fans would eat Blizzard's face if they had to pay 15 dollars a month for Diablo. Second, what is Blizzard going to do about these spammers on battle.net when D3 comes out? I really hope they monitor the chat with more force or something. Hell, they can hire me and I'll moderator the board. Seriously, I need a job Blizzard.

Anyway, the gameplay footage--despite what some fans think--looks awesome. I know some people were complaining that it wasn't dark enough, but I think it looks fine. The art style is Blizzard, so I don't know what they expect. Diablo and Diablo II were just limited by graphics. I mean take a random sampling of games from that era: Fallout (1 and 2, not tactics just because I hate it), Baldur's Gate, etc. The graphics are similar, in my opinion. Then look at Baldur's Gate for the consoles. I know the biggest complaint seems to stem from lack of a light radius, but who is say that the video's didn't just have them disabled for the preview?

It doesn't matter, all the complainers will buy the game. I will buy the game. And if you're reading this--you're really bored for one--you'll probably buy the game.

I don't think Blizzard has made one game that flopped, yet (no, not Starcraft Ghost or Warcraft Adventures, they didn't come out). Perhaps, this is the reason for the long development times and the "it's done when it's done slogans".

Note: This is another of my posts from Destructoid. People who commented generally agreed with me. A lot of people really seem to like the Diablo series. I stil lthink the people saying, "Blizzard got WoW into my Diablo," or , "The really need to tone down the light and color," need to "stfu and diaf" Sorry, but they just really get on my nerves. The game looks fine. It will be great, and you will buy it no matter what. Deal with it. On a different note, don't forget to check out dtoid.com, kotaku, and gamepolitics! I can't go a day without glancing over them at least five times!

In the July 2008 edition of the NeuroPodcast, research on sleep deprivation is discussed. In this research it was found that sleep deprivation was associated with an increase in false memories and that caffeine reduced such memories by 10%. One of the researchers Susanne Diekelmann, suggested that such false memories may result from impairment in the prefrontal cortex and in particular some of its posited functions of validating memories (STT=2).

In the Science Podcast there is a discussion of the famous french cave paintings at La Grotte Chauvet. What is interesting is that while the paintings have been estimated to be 32,000 years old, past 27,000 years there is a margin of error of radioactive carbon dating of a few thousand years. The age of the paintings from radiocarbon dating and from the style of the paintings seems to clash and there is also some discussion about this. Certainly the paintings are a fulcrum around which discussion of the evolution of human culture takes place. There are at least three reasons why no painting exist before 32,000 years

(1) Humans didn't have the cognitive abilities needed for creating paintings

(2) Humans did have the abilities, but the necessary culture didn't exist at that time.

This carries the assumption that culture is necessary for painting (i.e that painting couldn't proceed spontaneously and consistently without any prior cultural reference point - this in turn points to an assumption of gradual development rather than a sudden onset which would contradict the above assumption)

(3) Humans did create painting before this time but they did not survive to current times or else have not yet been discovered.

If the paintings indicate a starting point for specific cognitive abilities necessary for painting, DNA findings from excavations for this time period would be expected to provide circumstantial evidence for the necessary neurodevelopmental processes required. This in turn however is rather tenuous (STT6).

Shrinkrap radio podcast #168 is about a shamanic conference with interviews with various people involved in the conference. I think this area is important not because it offers an alternative explanation to the standard science-based explanatory paradigms but rather because there is an exploration of the healing properties of relationships. Often, insights are gained from practice and then fed back into the theory and as such, shamanism offers a source of information on how relationships might work in making people feel better although such inferences would need to be drawn from an appropriate evidence base. A cautionary note however. This is a minefield of controversy, partly because this involves the interface between freedom of individual practice/experience and society's need for regulation of practices which involve potentially vulnerable and unwell people who want to get better.
