Used a Nikon D3 to photograph this wall detail at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles. The building is a treasure of details that they don't put into modern buildings. Really like the old and burnished look of the stone and tile weathered with age and who knows how many people have run their hands over it through the many years it has been there.

We are always on the quest to snap that "just right" moment:

Congrat to Erica and Chris! It was a lovely wedding, everyone had such a good time. I stayed till mid-night when I ran out of memory (20 GB, I brought A LOT of CF card) , but by the time I left most of her friend are still dancing! They are such a riot.

Erica hired me as a second shooter, she wanted photojouralism style candid because they are interesting and fun. Good news to me, since it is probably the only style I can do! Just kidding, but I do prefer the quirky loving candid over stuffy formal posed shot.

We all for the most part think we look awful in Photographs. We have too many chins, our noses are too big, our skin is wrinkled, our teeth are crooked our ears stick out, the list is endless! However, rarely do I hear anyone say '' Oh my eyes are just horrid''. It seems that we all have an asset in our eyes, and I have yet to see a pair that I haven't thought to be amazing.

Feeling the Music, Not Writing on Paper

Since school started today, I feel like I should update on the most pertinent adventures of my day.

Since school started today, I feel like I should update on the most pertinent adventures of my day. I began taking Music Theory, which surprisingly became one of my heaviest classes already, with two chapters to read on the first day and a test on Friday. Despite the busiwork I'm nevertheless excited; I mean, composing music and really getting to know the stuff I used to BS, why not? However, when I read and took notes on these two chapters, I realized how despicably impossible it was for people to learn music theory with words out of a textbook. These little nitty-gritty details I used to eyeball as a kid seem all too complex when explained in depth on paper. Whatever happened to feeling the music? I feel like reading these concepts out of a textbook seems just a bit too overwhelming, and completely sucks out the life of music in itself. I guess it's also because I never paid attention to the specific names of how a major scale is converted into a minor scale. Where's the heart of really listening to music? As far as I know, music theory textbooks only endorse the blind memorization of basic concepts that should be felt from the heart. I should not be complaining about this, since some do need these detailed concepts, but where's the life? Where's the pizzazz? Music should be felt, and though it is analyzed, it should not become a robotic task.

Pointless rant.

In other news, I am officially licensed! After months of procrastination and frustration, my horrible driving skills are finally legit without parental guidance. Watch out.

Today was a spectacular first day :)
