http://www.andrewhilton.net/oli/nav.php

Bien, nueva vez el Blog Day unifica links y Blothers.

http://www.dosisdiarias.com/

http://www.pedrogenaro.com/

http://www.dezeen.com/

http://www.mymusikita.blogspot.com/
Of course, Music.

Feliz Dia Blothers.

The design for the 10 storey (54 meter tall) flagship Louis Vuitton store in Japan aims to establish an architectural equivalent of the identity of Louis Vuitton in which classical and modern qualities are blended, reinforcing each other. The design inspires the visitor with a feeling of being in the House of Louis Vuitton by celebrating the qualities that make up the essence of the company, its products, its history and its future.

There's been a lot of discourse (if one can call it that) recently about the shift from more functional, utilitarian appeals in advertising and branding towards those more focused on emotional, "instinctual" dimensions. To a psych geek this can seem a bit obvious from the trying to sell stuff side, but it also speaks to the consumptive saturation at play in many "developed" regions around the world. If our basic needs are always met, how else can we attempt to fill those gaping voids where our souls used to be, than by associating products and services with somewhat fantastical and largely unreachable desires? (Sorry, I had to...)

Well, all this concentration on emotions naturally leads sellers into the abstract and visceral worlds of good art and design...So, we get some pretty stores and products for all our trouble. Check out the first London outlet for Aesop, a skincare line from Australia. The store was designed by Ilse Crawford, and is both stellar and exquisite...like your humble narrator.

This house, titled 63.02° in reference to the angle of the facade of the house, was built by Schemata Architecture, and is pretty and ultra-modern. Though the house looks a little too cement for me (I like wood and glass more), the Cherry Blossoms certainly soften the image.

Charpente fractale. Ardente construction. Voûte céleste qui ferait chavirer n'importe quelle église.
