Kareem Rizk is a Melbourne artist/graphismo who makes gorgeous collage and mixed media works, as well as graphic design and some gorgeous photography.

I love the textural, analogue-meets-digital aesthetic of his collage pieces, which translate beautifully online. I've had a penchant for that kind of digital lo-fi style since discovering {ths} (Thomas Schostok) and Misprinted Type (Eduardo Recife).

I first came across Eduardo Recife's collages when I was studying graphic design. They're a mixed bag of kitsch photographs, cut outs from old books and magazines, pencil scribbles, and hand rendered type. If that isn't enough to entice you to his site then maybe the lure of free custom typefaces will do the trick.

Dreams

I would venture to guess that most people think the idea of this line of tools becoming a reality is a little far-fetched. Quite honestly, I can see why. We're 5 young women without a background in business or manufacturing. The whole thing will be pretty difficult to accomplish, but what we do have is a real passion to see this dream of ours become a reality. I rediscovered this quote by Thoreau from his book Walden and wanted to share it. Hopefully, it inspires the rest of you to take even your craziest dreams and make them happen. I'm a firm believer that it all depends on how bad you want something.
