NCIS - Driven (Season 4, Episode 11)

(tv.com - When a robotic vehicle named "Otto," a part of a high level project of the Department of Defense, causes a death of a Navy Lieutenant, and then later almost kills Abby, the NCIS team must find out who sabotaged the vehicle and murdered the Navy Lieutenant. Meanwhile, Ziva realizes that Tony keeps on visiting the hospital. What is he doing there?)

This episode is a favourite so I wanted to write why. I told myself that the next post I write wont be about NCIS - I was wrong.

After the usual opening it has the team in a "sexual harrasment" class. The only person who is taking the class seriously is the lady leading the class. Abby is told that she is meant to ask for permission before hugging people because they might find it offensive, it's a funny scene because near the end Jimmy talks about touching dead naked people. Ziva also licks Tony. Throughtout the rest of the show there are ongoing references to the red and yellow light references. Some are funny, others sweet.

Abby and Tim are the reason this is a favourite. Abby nearly dies but Gibbs saves her by attacking the car. Tim was sitting there listening to audio so he couldn't hear her. Tim is told to figure out how they did it and so he does. You can tell that he is kicking himself because he cares so much about Abby.
"I did it Abby. I found out how they got in"
"How did you know I was here"
"I didn't"
"Abby I'm sorry for"
"I know"
then she puts her arms around him and he asks with a slight smerk
"i thought you were meant to ask for permission first?"
"never with you Tim"
and they smile and Tim puts his hand on Abbys
Both Abby nearly being killed by a car and the sweet part with Tim and Abby can be seen in NCIS S4E11 part 3.

Tony is finding it hard keeping his secret, expecially since Ziva is worried and so keeps asking questions. His other "mission" is causing him to lie to everyone that is close to him. It's sweet how Ziva cares so much about him. She thinks he is sick and Gibbs catches her researching Y. Pestis. Tony previously had it and she thinks that he may have it again. When Ziva says that she's asked Tony about going to the hospital and getting tests done but he wont tell her Gibbs says "he's probably got a pretty good reason".

bc hes good looking and i didnt really like any of the other caps for this ep ^^
the episode starts with myung hun and ji hyun. They both cry as she drops the knife.
we see them through the window, and I assume that they want us to think that myung hun rapes her.

dong chul. He has flashbacks to the stuff that happened at the end of the last episode.

Like his phone call with dong wook.

I guess dong chul is not back in korea yet. He arrives at his macao home. young ran is there. She continues to say that he is just a hunting dog for her father.
young ran feels really let down by dong chul leaving her to get a passport and a job. She slaps him twice.

from his face, he obviously still has feelings for her, but he felt that he had to make the choice to return to dong wook (which required a passport from pres gook) rather than stay with young ran.
(davichi singing in the bg. Or at least, Lee Hae Ri is.)

zhang wei, ken, other guy, and the baby all say goodbye to dong chul. Dong chul tells them to take care of the baby, and he promises to return someday to see the baby again.

hye rin arrives at some big black gates. It is her family house.
hye rin is angry at her parents for not doing anything to help dong wook.
(I’m sorry, but lee da hae does not need to open her eyes that big.)

hye rin and her mom argue. Hye rin ends up saying that she will just deal with it herself, and she leaves angrily.

the random old man outside hugs her and tells her to be strong while she cries.

some villager is talking to chun hee. He says he sold out the other villagers bc taesung was giving him lots of money.
he is yo sup (the little boy that died)’s father.
chun hee says he is not even a human being. Unless he goes to taesung company the next day to solve the problem.

drunk myung hun. The phone rings. It’s shin tae hwan.

He tells his father that he wants to marry ji hyun immediately. Shin tae hwan skips over that and tells him that hes in trouble about yo sup’s death. Myung hun hangs up the phone and truns around to look at the bed. The empty bed. Ji hyun is gone.
he finds her, in a bathtub full of bloody water.

She cut her wrists.
I wish that something like this would be enough to change myung hun, but we will have to wait and see.

dong wook in the prison. He’s pretty badly beaten up. The prison guy puts him on the phone with shin tae hwan. Shin tae hwan, grinning evilly in his office.

Dong wook has become cynical about the idea that as a lawyer he can help people. His new motivation is to cause shin tae hwan to suffer. Another member for the my-life-is-dedicated-to-getting-shin-tae-hwan club.
dong wook refuses to compromise with shin tae hwan. Shin tae hwan mentions something about dong chul bacoming a “water ghost.” He then threatens chun hee’s life.
shin tae hwan hangs up the phone and then his sidekick comes running in.

lee dong chul is coming to korea with president gook.

shin tae hwan looks shocked out of his freaking mind.

young ran, pres gook, and dong chul all on the plane. (Along with kim tae son, backstabbing employee.) dong chul sees news in the newspaper about his brother.

I assume it says stuff about dong wook being missing. (the thing hye rin wanted in the news)

hye rin talking to her mother. She got the article in newspapers anonymously.
her mother is angry that she wants to put that article in her fathers newspaper.
hye rin says that her mother is too obsessed with kissing taesung company’s ass.

Her mother raises a hand to hit her, but hye rin doesn’t even flinch.

chun hee and all the villagers are discussing what to do. There are people outside with cranes. Meaning that if anyone elaves their home, the cranes will just destroy it.
shin myung hun and his demolishers come in.
chun hee yells at him, asking where dong wook is. As far as she knows, dong wook could be dead. When myung hun throws chun hee to the floor, the other villagers get riled up.

dong chul on the plane. Coming home after so many years. Finally back where his family is. Finally where he can take care of them again, just like he promised his father. ; ___ ; ♥

dong chul, pres gook, and hye rin in one car. Young ran starts complaining about “putting a dog in the car.” Pres gook says that dong chul is going to be young ran’s body guard so she had better be quiet.

dong chul glares out the window, noticing that their car is being followed.

BY WANG GUN. (but he cant see that)

young ran and pres gook have a meeting with pres min.

young ran just hurls insults at president min for sucking up to taesung company.
pres min tries to smooth things over, and although pres gook stays calm (while young ran does not) he clearly is upset too.

shin tae hwan on the phone. He is trying to find out the identity of one of pres gook’s investors. It happens to be nurse yoo, but he deosnt know yet.

young ran gives dong chul a tip for bringing her suitcases into her room.
he doesn’t take the money, of course.

young ran says she is determined to get him fired.
(aww. ; ___ ; please don’t turn into a bitchy side girl.)

dong chul sees two guys waiting outside the house.
---------
pres gook goes into his secret room. With a secret safe.

He takes out a briefcase and closes the room back up.
pres gook tells dong chul that before he can see his family he has to do one thing.
dong chul asks if he can use the phone.

jung ja and hye rin are talking. They have found out where dong wook is. The phone rings. Its dong chul. ;; ___ ;;

he says he doesn’t really have time to talk but he wants to know if dong wook was really taken away. Jung ja says yes. She then tells him that dong wook is at namyangdong, “the torturing place.”
pres gook then checks this, and talks to some guy. He tells them to take care of dong wook.

Dong chul looks mental, sitting on the couch rocking back and forth.
president gook sends dong chul to deliver something, and promises that he will let dong chul meet with dong wook tonight. yay!♥

pres gook is helping because his enemy is also shin tae hwan. (pretty soon, every single character in this show is going to be anti shin tae hwan)

hye rin arrives at her apartment. Where all her stuff has been removed by her parents.

The only thing that’s left is some dress. And the phone. Which rings. Its her father. He apologizes but says it was her mom’s orders. She is pissed off that her dad does whatever her mom wants.

young ran is still pissed off about dong chul working for her dad. She is supposed to relay a message to dong chul later. Im a little worried that she wont do it.

myung hun at the hospital. Ji hyun is there. She lost a lot of blood, but she will live.

“I loved her so much that I hurt her.”
but even this does not make him give up on ji hyun.
myung hun goes outside to talk to ji hyun’s grandfather, the station master.
myung hun apologizes. The station master asks him how he could do something like that if he is a human being.

that station master gets angry when myung hun says he will love ji hyun. The station master yells that he will never forgive myung hun, because he did something a man shouldn’t do.

off in the distance, the preist is watching. (what is the purpose of his character?)

dong chul arrives at some bench. Where hye rin arrives. They get into a boat together. (to go deliver the briefcase.)
(oh, the love triangles♥. Well actually..I suppose they will be more complicated than triangles in this show.)

they arrive. Dong chul gives the briefcase. He then prepares to leave. Hye rin asks him to wait for her.

hye rin goes in to the party. She demands that her mother return her belongings to her apartment and that she be allowed to meet with prosecutor chong.

when president min comes, hye rin lectures him about being a suck up. President min says that dong wook is being released. She doesn’t believe him. He tells her she can not go in to the party. So she leaves.
but first he tells her that she will be the heir to his newspaper. she tells him not to bother sucking up to her because it wont work.

she goes back to the boat and they leave.

shin tae hwan then comes over to talk to president min.

hye rin’s shoe breaks as soon as she don dong chul arrive back at the pier. Dong chul fixes it. Because he is a freaking superman that can do anything.

as he fixes her shoe, she has a flashback to dong wook wrapping her foot when they first met. The two superman brothers.

young ran is at home pacing back and forht infront of the phones. Waiting for dong chul to call. So that she will know he is successful and safe. She records little messages for him into a recorder while having flashbacks to their good times.
finally, dong chul calls. She doesn’t say anything and he gets angry.

he says that she can call him a dog if she wants but she had better tell him where his brother is. She says that she hasn’t heard from her father yet but he can go see her father.
dong chul rushes off.

as dong chul rides down the street on his motorcycle, he sees hye rin trying to get a ride. Being the lovely nice man that he is, he stops to see what’s up.
she asks for a ride to seoul. It happens to be near to where he is going, so he gives her a ride.
completely different from when he gave young ran a ride. Hye rin and dong chul are both completely serious.

shin tae hwan is on the phone. The prison guy says that he was ordered to release dong wook.

Dong wook is shocked to learn that he will get out of prison alive.

dong chul drops off hye rin.

She watches as he drives away, but then instantly goes back to what she is trying to do. (free dong wook. Which she doesn’t really need to do now anyway.)

dong wook is in some car. President gook is in some other car. Dong chul is standing next to that car waiting. He sees the car with dong wook in it drive up. He sees dong wook thrown to the ground by the men and then the car drives away.
dong chul, still a bit shocked out of his mind that this is really happening, does not move at first.
he slowly walks toward the field. Calling dong wook’s name. dong wook is on the ground, in pain.
he hears dong chul’s voice and forces himself to sit up. Turning to look, he sees a man standing a bit away from him in the dark. Dong wook crawls towards dong chul.

THIS IS THE SCENE I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR♥.
dong wook stands up. The two men stare at each other.
they cant even recognize each other since its been so long.
dong wook can not even believe it’s true. And dong chul just stands there crying.
president gook, sick of them yelling back and forth has his driver turn on the headlights so they can see each other.
dong wook still can’t belive it. HUG, DAMMIT.
and omg dong chul does the hand movement thing so dong wook wil know its him.

and this is the most depressing slow motion running towards each other thing I have ever seen because dong wook is limping ;; ___ ;;
and they hug♥

I love that this drama is based a lot on family, and not only on romance.
I’m so glad that they are finally reunited.
I am really worried about all the love relationships right now.
myung hun has screwed up ji hyun, hye rin loves dong wook, dong wook still loves ji hyun but does not yet know that shes screwed up (plus chun hee mentioned something about ji hyun’s father which we have yet to leran more about..), dong chul can not be with young ran, and now hye rin and dong chul have met. Wow.
I thought this was a pretty good episode.
although I notice that as the show goes on, I cry less and less. At first I was totally crying, but by now, even when they do the hand motion thing I don’t really cry.

Technical note: because Tom is our technical guru, Andrea and Sean had to learn how to record and edit this podcast using Fisher Price's My First Podcasting Software - so it sounds ever-so-slightly different from our usual episodes. Hopefully, however, we still retain our charm.

OK, so that time was clearly the 70s and 80s.

Since then, it's all been generic movie soundtracks - apart from the James Bond stable, of course.

Which is your favouritest movie song? And should Amy Winehouse be recording the title track to Quantum of Solace? As long as she can find a rhyme for 'solace', that is?

Madam Jami kocht vor Wut, weil Goong-bok noch am Leben ist. Sie geht zum nächsten Kampf, um zu sehen, ob er wieder gewinnt. Es wird ein harter Kampf, bei dem keiner zu gewinnen scheint. Da verliert plötzlich der Gegner von Goong-bok den Helm, und Goong-bok ist schockiert, als er seinen väterlichen Freund Choi erblickt. Nun gibt sich auch Goong-bok zu erkennen. Madam Jami grinst vor Schadenfreude. Sie weiß, dass nun einer ihrer Feinde sterben wird. Doch die beiden greifen sich nicht an, da keiner den anderen töten will. Doch dann lässt Choi sich fallen, so dass es so aussieht, als habe Goong-bok in niedergestoßen. Er tut dies mit Absicht, damit sein Freund Goong-bok in jedem Fall weiterleben kann. Dieser ist nun gezwungen Choi zu töten. Er zögert erst, doch dann sticht er mit seinem Schwert zu. Choi jedoch ist nicht tot. Er ist nur verwundet und hat das Bewusstsein verloren. Goong-bok hatte einst von ihm gelernt, welche Körperstellen nicht so empfindlich sind. Er bittet Meister Jo, die "Leiche" seines Freundes zu holen. Choi wird bei Meister Jo gesund gepflegt, dem er fortan dient. Bald kommt es dann endlich zu einem freudigen Wiedersehn von Goong-bok, Yon und Choi. Madam Jami kehrt inzwischen nach Shilla zurück und lässt Jung-hwa als Stellvertreterin in China zurück. Yeum-moon erzählt ihr, dass er herausgefunden habe, dass man Goong-bok in ein Straflager an die äußerste Landesgrenze gebracht hat, wo er kaum Überlebenschancen hat. Beide vermuten nun, dass er gar nicht mehr am Leben ist. Sie wissen nicht, dass er ganz in der Nähe ist. Meister Jo hält sein Versprechen und verkauft Goong-bok und Yon an Meister Sul Pyong. Dieser macht sie zu seinen Sicherheitsoffizieren und sagt ihnen, dass sie von nun an keine Sklaven mehr sind. Bei ihrem ersten Auftrag sollen sie eine Warenlieferung zum Hafen bewachen. Im Hafen erblickt Goong-bok plötzlich Jung-hwa, die sich mit Yeum-moon ebenfalls um eine Warenlieferung kümmert. Die beiden können es kaum glauben, wer da vor ihnen steht. In diesem Moment nähert sich ein Trupp Soldaten, der auf Jung-hwa zukommt.

Thoughts:

Ok, so it turned out that the white-haired demon is a "she". It said so on the newspaper article and when the police shouted that she fell from the window. Chiko's aunt is getting desperate of getting rid of her since her methods are getting sloppy. She also received her first kiss from Shunko. Well, it wasn't for any romance purposes so thank God.

I don't like this episode. I don't care about Shunko's past. She's spoiled anyway. I want the Twenty Faces to appear and Ken too. Why Shunko and Tome are one of the main characters now? It's suppose to be about Chiko and the Twenty Faces legacy.

Penguin Girl ONA - Episode 11

Brief Summary

Finally facing Mary of the Whitebear family, the two rivals decide to throw everything on a sumo match. Penguin was thought to have an advantage due to her chest.

Despite earning an early victory, Mary gave her a crushing bear hug that crippled the Penguin girl.

All seemed lost... until Nene gave a tempting offer.

How does she help? By ordering their butler Sebastian to shoot at Penguin.

Mary escapes her capture and laments about their difference in power. She said that she didn't need friends to be strong. Then, her servants speak up about how they truly love her. Receiving such words, the match is evened out.

Long battle short, they exchanged punches and kicks, devastating their surroundings. Once the Love Drive powered down, the two rivals becomes friends...

Impressions

Nothing spectacular... except for the introduction of the Love Drive being shot at Penguin's head. Pretty funny how Kaede continues to mistreat her older sister. Next episode should be pretty boring, a summer special where the Penguin and Bear families will probably have another friendly rival showdown.

Too bad we won't see Kujira cosplayed as Takenoko-chan :(

Library Wars - Episode 11

Amidst war, romance blooms?

Summary

Continuing from the last episode, the Kantou Task Force makes preparations for the Media Enhancement Committee's inevitable "inspection". During one of the briefings, Tezuka's brother called.

Satoshi told Tezuka that there would only be one battle to fight. In addition. he should be careful since the Media Enhancement Committee will be fighting for their honor after continuous failures from previous engagements. Satoshi also asked if he was seemed "mean", then saying an answer wasn't necessary before hanging up.

Meanwhile, Kasahara invited Doujou to meet with her at night. The two ended up at a greenhouse where the chamomile (symbol of the Library Defense Force) were growing.

It was a nice romantic moment, a simple date before war breaks out.

And of course, the obligatory "stay alive" speech for couples before battle.

These two were not the only ones to have a nightly encounter. Komaki was going to a local convenience store when he bumped into the M.E.C. squad leader that attacked him (Episode 6). The two talked for a bit but the former bad guy... didn't seem so bad. He even went so far to criticize his employer.

The M.E.C. soldier parted ways, saying that his side had already gone crazy over this battle. Tomorrow's fight would make other battles look insignificant.

The next day, the attack came as expected.

One of their snipers takes a hit from gunmen hiding in the trees.

While the injured Shindou acted as bait, Tezuka finished off the snipers (BL moment?).

As the gunfight goes on, resources were thinned... forcing even the Ibaraki girls showed up.

Everything was going relatively well... until the M.E.C. decides to go for one final suicidal attack. Every combatant charged the barricades, some of them going hand-to-hand against the Task Force. The surge was barely checked by the riot shields the Library Force had prepared.

Kasahara, shocked by the irrational ways of the M.E.C., was forced to fire (and kill?) several of the enemy. Doujou was there to calm her down from the shock. Soon afterwards, the battle ended.

Ambulances flooded the scene, taking away the wounded... M.E.C. and Library forces alike. Doujou was sitting with Kasahara when he spotted the Ibaraki Head Librarian carrying gasoline. He told his subordinate to stay while he chased after the old lady.

At the exhibition site, their victory was short-lived when one of the M.E.C. troops resisted medical treatment and pointed his gun at Freedom. Commander Genda stood in the way, daring the soldier to shoot.

His efforts were in vain since the man was as irrational as his organization, driven insane by desperation.

Back to Doujou, he found the librarian soaking documents with gasoline, an obvious attempt to cover up a wrongdoing she committed. Making the situation worse, she drew a lighter and pointed a handgun at the lieutenant.

With smoke billowing from the building, Kasahara arrives just when a gunshot went off. Seeing Doujou wounded, she was about to help him when he ordered her off, telling her to subdue the escaping librarian instead. Not too difficult of a task, she turns back only to see Doujou surrounded by flames and boxes of paper falling around him.

Everything happened before her eyes... as he disappeared from view, buried beneath the flames.

His fate... remains unknown.

Impressions

First off, the fight scenes improved quite a bit. It was more realistic than the museum battle. The Ibaraki girls had barely any screen time as to be expected. The romantic moments between Doujou and Kasahara were also there. However, the part when the Media Enhancement Committee went insane was a bit off. They looked like the ghouls from a Hellsing ripoff.

Now to the emotional parts. Genda's death seemed staged. He could have lived... if he were to step aside or let the other members overpower the deranged soldier. What made it worse was the drawing style used in his final moments, right before he collapsed. He had the strong outline around his figure, more often used for comedic moments. It really clashed with the atmosphere.

As for Doujou, I did not expect that to happen. Instead, I predicted a more docile episode 12 to finish the series, probably just a confession from our short lieutenant finalizing the romance. However, the series diverged from my hypothesis and now, an emotional finale is set up. Would Kasahara be reunited with her "prince" or will he be torn away, killed in the line of duty?

I have a feeling that it'll go for the worse, judging by how the OP is presented. If not death, Doujou would be severely injured and unfit for service. I don't expect Kasahara to quit the force, regardless of the outcome. She might continue her service in his memory, just like Inamine did with the Nightmare at Hino incident.

NOTE:
Is it just me or did this seem somewhat familiar to the Chiko ~Heiress of the Phantom Thief~ episode when almost everyone dies?

The Power of feelings/mind

Everyone's waiting for news about the Chinese Federation because they were worried about Milly. The fake "Lelouch" confirmed Milly's safety. Rolo then took him to a secret underground base through the library and lectured him that he got carried away and he wasn't acting like the real Lelouch. Sayoko apologized and removed Lelouch's mask. In the underground base, Viletta informed that Zero was having a crisis because Prince Schnizel had entered the battle and brought the Knights of Rounds as well.

The Order of the Black Knights was struggling because they didn't have any reinforcements. They thought that the enemy would never attack the place but they were wrong. The Chinese Federation intended to get rid of the empress and bury them under the entire Tiandi Bashiba Ling. Meanwhile, Xingke ordered his men to hold fire and he was absolutely against the Euneuch Generals' plan to burry Tian Zi and replace a new one. He was going to strike the Euneuch Generals but he was interrupted by Gino's Tristan.

Toudou, Asahina, Chiba and C.C joined the battle with their Knightmares Frame. C.C was told by Lelouch if things became unfavourable, she was asked to escape. Things aren't going well as not only the Lancelot was there but even the next generation mass production types. Anya came to annihilate the rebel forces. Her shield was so strong that nothing can damage it. In Avalon, Nina observes that if Anya used the Mordred's Stark Hadron cannon, then she could destroy the mountain tomb in one shot but if their objective was to destroy it. They didn't want to be responsible for the death of the Empress.

Zero contacted the Euneuchs Generals and tried to negotiate and stop them from attacking. But, the Euneuchs Generals didn't care about the Empress or betraying the country as it can be easily replace. They saw people in this world as bugs which disgusted Zero.

Tian Zi had enough of this and ran up onto the deck. She tried to stop the fight. Xingke immediately flew towards Tian Zi to save her but he paid the price for not paying attention which caused one of his wings damaged. He managed to protect her and asked her to run away. He was so desperate that he asked someone to save her. Zero answered the call brand new Shinkirou Knightmare Frame. Nina noticed that the Shinkirou uses the Gawain's Druid System and has the world's best defense with its absolute protection field. Schnizel was asked what should they do, instead, he ordered them to retreat.

Lelouch thought that Xingke has the potential to lead a country and he would join forces with him. At the same time, an uprising had started in Shanghai but not only Shanghai, but Shouchun, Beijing, Burma, Jakarta, Islamabad. These were all happened simultaneously. It appeared that Zero's dialogue with the Euneuchs Generals was leaked which triggered the citizens to start revolting. Meanwhile, C.C and Nagisa were attacking Anya. The mark on C.C suddenly glowed which caused her to have flashbacks of young Lelouch and Marrianne. Anya experienced the same thing too. This caused her to lose her guard which led her to end up on the ground. Zero headed to the main Chinese vessels to rescue Karen while Xingke was executing the Euneuchs Generals. Xianglin revealed that Karen was given to the Knight of Seven, Suzaku.

In the desert, Bartley and his men were gathered in front of V.V and Jeremiah because they were the ones who put Jeremiah back together. The following day, Xingke promised Tian Zi that he'll protect her forever. Diethard proposed Zero to marry Tian Zi to a Japanese to strengthen the bond between the countries. All women were against the marriage including C.C. Lelouch took a phone call from Shirley instead of listening to Tamaki. He asked her how to break up a couple who doesn't want to be broken up. Shirley's words reminded him of Nunnaly. He decided that Tian Zi's future belongs to herself. Xingke shook his former opponent's hand and agreed to move forward.

At the Ashford library, Shirley ran into Sayoko in disguise. Sayoko didn't want her to se the secret entrance and so she kissed her.

The real Lelouch decided to focus on a religious organization that creates and researches Geass because by controlling the organization, he can defeat the Emperor's Geass. C.C pointed out that it's hard to find the organization as the current location had been concealed from the human world. He decided to find it using the power country. C.C was asked to stay there while Lelouch went back to Area 11.

Lelouch had arrived and Sayoko said details were inside the file he instructed her to write. He met Shirley in the hallway; not knowing what "he" did yesterday. Suddenly, Anya appeared and took a picture of them. It turned out Gino and Anya were going to attend the school.

Supervisor Jung Sang Goon is about to take Jang-Geum and Geum-Young to the punishment dept. Jung Sang Goon's boss (Jae Jo Sang Goon) stops her and orders her to forget the incident. Jung Sang Goon gets suspicious something strange is going on. Elder Oh tries to fix things quiety. Supervisor Han Sang Goon (Jang-Geum's master) goes to Jang-Geum's room to look for the item that Jang-Geum found. Supervisor Jung Sang Goon asks Yeon-Sheng to show her the place where Jang-Geum goes to practice cooking. The King asks Supervisor Jung Sang Goon what's going on since everyone seems too look very gloomy. Supervisor Han Sang Goon asks Jang-Geum to tell her the truth about her being in the kitchen that night, but Jang-Geum weeps telling Supervisor Han Sang Goon that the last time she told a secret her parents died therefore she vowed that she will not say a thing. Supervisor Han Sang Goon then weeps with her. Supervisor Han Sang Goon remembers the past about her best friend who got poisioned and left to die as a scapegoat, she worries that Jang-Geum will die too. Supervisor Jung Sang Goon (Han's boss) decides to let go of the events in order to to save the girls. Choi Sang Goon tells Geum-Young no matter what never ever tell anyone about the curse sachet.

Gam (the wine-maker/chef Jang-Geum's adopted father) tries to con palace guards with herbal medicine balls. He gets caught but for a different reason, the Head Guard tells Gam that the Prince became extremely ill after eating medicine cooked by Gam. Gam is blamed for poisioning the prince causing the child's arms and legs to become immobile. The Royal Doctors cannot find the source of poisioning and are unable to cure the Prince. The King becomes extremely worried and Gam is doomed to die. Jang-Geum works day and night trying to figure out the cause of the Prince's numbness and unconsciousness...
