One of the many straight-to-DVD cash-in sequels that have been coming out at an increasing rate in recent years (though it did get a theatrical release in some countries), The Butterfly Effect 2 has virtually no connections to the 2004 original, except for a vague useless mention of that film's events, and some common crew, mostly in the producing, casting and music departments.

Written by Michael D. Weiss (Journey To The Center Of The Earth 3D), The Butterfly Effect 2 pretty much follows the first film's formula of a guy who discovers he has the power to alter his past and uses it to save the woman he loves and to try and make his life perfect.

The film stars Eric Lively (Live!, also Gossip Girl star Blake Lively's older brother), Erica Durance (The CW's Smallville), Dustin Milligan (The Messengers) and Gina Holden (Final Destination 3) among others and was directed by John R. Leonetti (Mortal Kombat: Annihilation). Trailer and review after the jump.

The Butterfly Effect 2 has been widely panned for having a very poor storyline, shoddy special effects and unlikable characters, all of which are not true. The effects I thought were rather good, if not entirely consistent with the original (less nosebleeding), and one must keep in mind that this film was a straight-to-DVD effort and thus had less than half the budget of the first movie.

As for the storyline, well it's actually more logical than the original, since the screenwriter did away with that film's "blackout concept", which was very interesting but a source of numerous plot holes when you think about it. But it is true that the first Butterfly Effect's story was a lot darker, more suspenseful and that film had a much better atmosphere overall.

The Butterfly Effect 2 is not the awful movie some people make it out to be. The actors do a pretty good job and the overall product is definitely watchable. But by rehashing and dumbing down the first film's content, it deprives itself of any surprise and originality, and the implications of the hero's time travels are also a lot less interesting. The movie was successfull enough to warrant a sequel, and a theatrical one at that, as Butterfly Effect: Revelation will come out next year, boasting a rather more intriguing premise.

Verdict: Not as terrible as its reputation, but still inferior to its predecessor. The Butterfly Effect 2 currently holds a 4.4/10 on IMDB and isn't rated on Rotten Tomatoes, though the sole review is positive.

Erica Durance is a TV hottie. She's on Smallville and I think is one of the sexiest women on TV. She has an incredible body. She looks very pretty in this dress though I wish we got to see her legs. But it's really hard to complain when a chick shows off her gorgeous cleavage and also her back. This is some good stuff.

SMALLVILLE - Season 8
Episode 2: “Plastique”

SMALLVILLE - Season 8

Episode 2: "Plastique"

In this episode — It's Clark's first day at the Daily Planet with Lois, and the pair are immediately thrown together on a story when a bus explodes outside the office. Clark rescues Bette (guest star Jessica Parker Kennedy), a young girl who bonds with Chloe over their shared meteor abilities, but Bette is hiding a big secret. Paramedic Davis Bloom arrives in Metropolis and is drawn to Chloe.

My spoiler filled review is after the jump. No recap this time. Just a review of the general episode.

- SPOILER ALERT -

Its Clark's first day at the Planet. Big first day. He changes in a phone booth, wears a button up shirt, and gets his first story when a bus blows up outside. Of course he has to save Tess Mercer's life. She's taken over for Lex Luthor so saving her life is obligatory.

The show gets off to a strong start. Clark and Lois' chemistry is really strong and you definitely feel the sparks flying between them. Chloe however, despite being engaged, is definitely making eyes at Davis Bloom. That's gonna cause trouble. All the actors do a great job. Davis fit in pretty nicely. Although he needs to loosen up a bit.

Jessica Parker Kennedy's character of "Bette" is a runaway, problem child, "meteor freak." She's sassy and kind of annoying, and Kennedy pulled it off pretty well. Her explosive ability is pretty cool and the visual effects in the episode were pretty strong. I didn't once believe she was 15 though. Way too hot and sexy and... um... "bouncy." Good thing she's actually about 23 years old, of I'd feel really guilty about saying so.

Clark tries out his investigative skills tracking down the cause of the bus explosion, and Lois is trying to train him the whole time.

Looks like Chloe's going to reopen the Isis Foundation to help out the meteor freaks. She tells Davis about the engagement and he assumes she's engaged to Clark. He later spills the beans to Clark, who's shocked to have heard the news from anyone other than Chloe. That whole scene was a lot of fun. The way Davis let it slip and Clark's reaction was priceless.

Mercer's been looking for Bette. When she finally gets her hands on her, she recruits her. Inviting Bette to join a team of other people like her. My favorite line in this conversation was when Mercer used the term "injustice." It would be pretty cool to see a team of super-villains to go up against the Justice League.

This episode was an interesting one. It was a throwback to the early seasons where we had frequent "Freak of the Week" episodes, but at the same time, this particular f.o.t.w. wasn't killed at the end, nor have we seen the last of her. She'll return, presumably as part of Mercer's Injustice League. And despite the nod to older seasons, there was so much new stuff, it felt very different. With Clark at the Planet, partnered with Lois, the introduction of Davis, and Chloe taking over the Isis foundation, this is a very new Smallville.

Have I mentioned how creepy and evil Tess is? She's pretty hard-core. So far she's doing a great job as a Luthor replacement. She gives me more of a Lionel vibe than Lex. But Lionel was once our main villain so it all works out.

Our last scene of the episode is pretty creepy. Mr. Nice Guy Davis Bloom is lying naked in an ally and its looks like he's just coming out of a transformation. Doomsday is coming people.

Overall a great episode and a strong follow up to an exciting season premier.

The A-Train's "Plastique" Rating: 4 out of 5 Crystals.

Looks like next week's episode will be Green Arrow's Origin Story. Hmmm... interesting.

“Here is what you need to know” is really appropriate here-Smallville has been on the air too long. The ratings are basically awful as the show sits near the bottom of all network shows and the formula has just been done to death. The season opener tries to “reboot” the series as numerous characters have fled, I mean left, the show. Gone are Lux Luther played by Michael Rosenbaum, Lionel Luthor played by John Glover, Kara (aka Supergirl) played by Laura Vandervoort and long time Smallville staple Lana Lang played by Kristen Kreuk. Read more here.

As our economy continues on it's journey down into sewer (we are well past the toilet) it was just another week gone past here at S&Fs. We listened to a couple of rivals go back and forth about a pointless football game. We found out about Charlie Weis' true identity. We even managed to have one of our daily posts go without the presence of sports. So what is in store next week? I have no friggin clue. I do have a serious post of my own just about ready to go, but decided to wait til next week to drop it on you. I think I may elicit tears with this one. But today is Friday, we have good times on Friday. Oh, after seeing Cmfost have a conniption fit about Mizerle06's version of "The Morning After," you can be sure that there will be a ton of non sports related links. I gotta get my knocks in before the 1 month ban begins next Wednesday.

Things seem to be pretty bad in the blogger's world right now. Some people are relying on really old, terrible commercials, others are simply cut and pasting email exchanges to create posts. Though I do marvel at the wisdom of RexKramerEmailPaster. Of course one could just completely ignore their blog. We try to be above these gimics at S&Fs.

So much for that, "what if USC goes undefeated," talk. The Trojans looked like the shell of a team that trounced tOSU just 2 weeks ago.

Well, at least David Tyree still holds the title of greatest catch ever in a Super Bowl, this is just insane:

Ask yourself this question, did you buy any of this music to help it reach number 1. I bet you Jen owns number 1.

I am a huge, huge Seinfeld fan. I am that guy that will try to take any situation that is going on and compare it to an episode of the Greatest Show of All Time. However all the shows made by cast members following the end of the show failed miserably(yes I am aware that Julia Louis Dreyfus has a semi successful show now, 9 years later!). Something tells me these wouldn't have worked either, well except the one about the boobs.

Speaking of boobs, maybe going back to drinking isn't such a bad idea. (may be NSFW)

I think I should be the first to let you all know that Miz has developed a serious "thyroid" issue since the Volunteers football team went into the tank. We kid of course. He was however able to patch things up with GatorTrey.

I don't know if you guys realize that we seem to lose Marcomarco and GITC at times for days on end, that is because they keep causing their computer to crash by clicking on stupid pop ups. Time to upgrade that web browser, fellas.

Need to thank CRM for yesterdays afternoon round up for the inspiration. Are you watching Smallville? You shoud be by now, and Erica Durance is why→

Joe Dumars has done such a great job rebuilding the Pistons to contenders every year, why not put him in charge of the Lions. It could work!

Another former Piston is going back to work in New York. Allan Houston has signed on to play for the Knicks, again. I was always a fan of Allan, even when he bolted the Pistons when him and Grant Hill could have become an unstoppable tandem in the East. Good Luck.

Came across another flow chart. Actually, Jen, provided us with another flow chart. The hits just keep on coming, Irish fans.

What happened to just chasing the boys and trying to kiss them at recess? Get with the times Sparty, now the chase them around and poke them with needles.

Thank you for calling 911. If you are calling in regards to your vehicle being broken into? Deal with it yourself.

What happened to good ole fashion swirleys?

I am going to finish by rubbing salt in my own wound. Congrats Mr. Torre. Part of me is now hoping for Manny to carry them to a World Series title over Boston.

Stay tuned for a look at what to watch for this weekend, and Big D's football picks.

Erica Durance at the E Offices in Los Angeles
Smallville’s season opener raised so many questi

[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="480" caption="Erica Durance at the E Offices in Los Angeles"][/caption]

Smallville's season opener raised so many questions I knew I had to get you answers. Lucky for me, the lovely Erica Durance stopped by recently for a chat, and I got some dishy deets from Smallville's Lois Lane herself on Clark, the so-called Good Samaritan and other juicy tidbits to tide you over until tonight's episode.

Lois & Clark…the Couple? Look for an upcoming episode where Clark and Lois investigate a man who stalks couples, so of course Lois decides they should play a couple as bait, and Lois plays it to the hilt while Clark feels a wee bit uncomfortable. But subterfuge aside, don't expect Lois and Clark makeout sessions quite yet. "I think they are just being very careful on how they have that relationship unfold," said Erica. "And I just want to make sure she earns the right to be loved by Superman."

Who Is the Good Samaritan? There seems to be a superstrong man running around saving the day...but who is he? That is the question asked by many characters this season, including Tess Mercer: "The supers have to work together to trick Jimmy because he is hot on the trail. In the end of the episode, Lois is talking to Clark and basically says, 'I'm going to find out who this hero is and that's going to be my mission in life.' " Poor Clark had better watch out because Lois is also on the case. Said Erica, "Wouldn't it be great if she just went around trying to get in trouble to see if she can find him?"

Is Lex Right Under Our Noses? Since Lex is missing, there's a new toughie in town. "All I can say for Tess is that you don't get into the position she's in without being bad. She will be somebody to be reckoned with." About that missing bald hottie, I would think if you spent a whole season searching for him, he'd eventually pop up, right? "That's what I like to think. Then boom, he's been in the backyard the whole time!" Oh, that must have been the one place they didn't look!

Chloe and Cousin: Chloe won't be returning to The Daily Planet any time soon. She will be working at the Isis Foundation helping the meteor-challenged. And that's not the least of her worries—Lois is an issue as well. Erica said that, "Lois has to deal with the fact that her cousin is finding true love, and in true Lois fashion, she sticks both feet in her mouth at the most inopportune time."

Season Nine? Regarding rumors that Smallville might continue for another year after this one, Erica said if they ask her to be on it again, "I'd totally be in. Who wouldn't work with Tom Welling for another season?"

Smallville’s Season 8 Premier just aired. I’m rewatching it as I type this and I can

Smallville's Season 8 Premier just aired. I'm rewatching it as I type this and I can't wait to talk about this episode. Its very exciting. What a great show! What a great episode. Beware of SPOILERS after the jump...

- SPOILER ALERT -

SMALLVILLE SEASON 8

Episode 8.01 - "Odyssey"

This episode helped take away any doubts I may have had about this season. It looks like the whole show is finally taking a turn that has been long over due, and it was done very well. It felt like a natural progression. Like now that Lana's gone, and Clark has lost so much, he really has no other choice than to accept his destiny and move forward. This is a different Clark we're being treated to. Not in a sense that doesn't fit what he's been before. He just seems more mature, more determined, and more sure of himself than ever before. There are several moments in the episode I'll point out as the recap goes on where the look of confidence on his face, and the sound of his voice are clear signals that Clark is ready and willing.

Fish Nets... mmmm...

The episode opens up with Tess arriving at the sight of Lex and Clark's disappearance. The crew is hard at work looking for Lex. Regan's at the sight, and Ms. Tess Mercer shows up to take command away from him. She's determined to find Lex. Just when they think they've found something deep in the snow, a familiar green hooded archer shows up. The Green Arrow, sporting all his ultra cool high-tech gadgets starts shooting out equipment and taking down Mercer's henchmen. Accompanying Green Arrow is the beautiful Dinah Lance; The Black Canary, whose sonic canary cry disables more of their equipment. And just when Regan thinks he's got the drop on Arrow, Aquaman springs through the snow and takes him out. They find Clark's famous red jacket, but no sign of Clark himself.

It was an action packed opening to the season, leading into the new opening credits. It was pretty sad not seeing Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor in the opening credits. Also absent from the credits, of course, is John Glover as Lionel Luthor, who died last season. When you consider that we've also lost Annette O'tool and John Schneider, the credits can be pretty jarring. But its so good to see so many new faces. Tess Mercer, Doomsday, and Green Arrow have all been added as permanent cast members for the new season. Justin Hartley as the Green Arrow is a welcome addition in my opinion. He was one of the best parts of season 6, and its good to have him back in a more consistent position.

When we return from commercials, we find Lois in a really sexy french made costume, poking around the Luthor Mansion, looking for any clues and info on the whereabouts of her cousin Chloe. Its so great to see Lois using her skills as a reporter to accomplish what she needs. Lois is one hard piece of candy. Her interaction with Tess is a great scene. Tess is obviously going to be a great villain. While I already miss Rosenbaum as Lex, I think Tess will do just fine.

We find Chloe hooked up to a machine, being shown images on a screen in rapid flashes. It turns out our favorite blond hacker has a new ability. Super brainy abilities. Her captors are doing these little tests and experiments on her because they need her to do their dirty work later in the episode. Any time Chloe is in a scene, its a good one. Even when its basically set-up for a later scene, like this one.

Now we're at the Isis Foundation. Lana's high-tech "Lana Cave," as us Smallville Geeks have come to call it. The Justice League, sans Impulse and Cyborg are using it to try to find Clark. So far they've got no leads, but Olliver refuses to give up on him. Dinah is looking pretty foxy, I might add. Love that wig...

Finally, we're taken to Russia, and given our first look at Clark, powerless, in a work camp, being forced to do manual labor. How much bigger can Tom Welling possibly get? The guy is huge! He's a beast! Anyway, he tries to make a get-a-way but fails. He gets the snot beat out of him by some old Russian guy. Not very Superman to get your butt kicked by a senior citizen, but it is very Superman to stand up to him the way he did, despite being powerless.

There's Regan again, trying to act like Lex. Its ironic because he's not Lex's replacement. Tess is. She gives me a very Shirley Manson on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles vibe.

Chloe's captors finally ask her to do what they want. Find 3 phone numbers that'll lead them to the capture of a terrorist group. Little does she know, at first, she's handing over the Justice League. When she recognizes Olliver's phone number, she figures out these people are not the DDS. They're Luthor's men, and they're using her to find and capture her friends.

Clark comes to and gives escape another try. But wait... Olliver's here! How'd he find Clark? He picks a fight with Clark as a ruse. The two exchange blows in an actual bare knuckle fight. I don't think I've ever seen Clark fight like that on the show before. He's always so much more powerful than his opponents so he holds back. The best part about it: As they're finally walking away Clark says to Olliver, "What took you so long?" That line is so incredibly simple, but the way he said it was our first real look at this "new" Clark. He's not a whiny, worried, or overly polite farm boy anymore. This guys been places, and he's seen things. There's growth there. There was no sentimental "Thank you Olliver. I'm so glad you came for me." No. "What took you so long?" Classic.

On the Queen Jet they discuss the events of Arctic. Lex knows Clark's secret, and he's out there somewhere. Clark survived without his powers, its plausible Lex survived aswell. I'm praying and holding out hope that Rosenbaum will maybe an appearance this season. At least in the season finale. PLEASE! Moving on, they discuss Chloe. They've looked everywhere for her. There's only one Luthorcorp facility left unchecked, so that's where she must be. But Dinah and AC have both been captured, and Clark is powerless. Green Arrow can't do it alone, can he?

In Montana, at the Luthorcorp facility, Dinah and AC are strung up, with their powers suppressed. Clark and Green Arrow arrive and split up to look for their friends. Clark discovers... LOIS? Deep undercover, as usual. They take out a few guards with some clever one liners and punch-lines. Did I mention this is a new Clark?

Back to Chloe. Her mom had an ability too. Mind control. They used her mother's DNA to create a mind control serum and used it on Chloe to force her to give her that last phone number, revealing Olliver's location to them. Of course, he's in the building. He finds Dinah and AC, but it doesn't take long for the bad guys to stick that mind control serum in his neck and make him go after Clark and Chloe and find Lex. Clark and Lois find Chloe and set her free. Well, Clark does. Lois gets knocked out. (They can't COMPLETELY change the show. There's gotta be some sense of normalcy. Lois getting knocked out is a staple of the show.)

Green Arrow and Clark cross paths and in a surprising scene, Green Arrow actually fires one into Clark! Right next to his heart! Clark's mortal now, that's gotta sting! Clark doesn't know where Lex is. The second arrow shoots right through this chest and out the window. They added a slow-mo effect to give us false hope that Clark's powers would suddenly reappear and he'd evade the arrow... but nope! It hit him. He's dying and Ollie snaps out of it just in time to cry and watch Clark move closer to death. Chloe tries to save him but her healing ability is gone, replaced by her super brain, I assume. Justin Hartley was awesome in this scene. He's a great actor. How he doesn't get more work is beyond me.

The Martian Manhunter arrives! He picks Clark up and flies up into the sun. This character hasn't been used to his full potential yet.

When we return. Clark wakes up in the barn. Good as new. He's healed and his powers are restored. Manhunter, however, is now powerless. Here's hoping that's just temporary. This scene was my favorite of the episode, dialogue-wise. Manhunter points out that Clark has the powers of a god, yet lives among humans. Clark comes back with "Sometimes I feel like I need to be two separate people." That line was well placed, and its about time! Things are finally looking forward. Clark isn't afraid of his destiny anymore. And this looks like the beginning of him developing a secret identity. The fortress is gone, and with it, so is Jor-El. Clark's adoptive parents are gone. He has no family or life left on that farm. He announces he's leaving that life behind, and starting a new one. Again, I say, its about time.

Tess, in the solitude of the Mansion, has a look of wonder, curiosity, and possible fear regarding her new role as CEO of Luthorcorp, and her task of finding Lex. In the presence of her lackey's, however, she's hard as nails and fearless. Her people found a footprint in the arctic that didn't belong to Luthor. And what's worse: She has the Crystal used to create the fortress. She's on to Clark, and its only a matter of time.

Chloe gets the overdue visit from Jimmy, and he retracts his proposal placed in the season 7 finale. But Chloe knows what she wants. She wants that little goofball to marry her. So she says yes anyways and now, they're engaged! That's a little weird, but I can get used to that. That explains the upcoming wedding episode.

Finally, the Justice League meets back up to discuss their problems. Lex's people are on to him, but they can't find Lex. They decide to split up, lay low, and try to find Lex. Clark, in not so many words, practically joined the League right then and there. With triumphant music playing in the background.

The final scene finds Lois in the Daily Planet, being annoyed by Clark, who apparently just got a job at the paper! The show's title needs to get changed to "Metropolis." And Lois looked pretty surprised that her farmboy friend is going to be at the desk in front of hers. But surprised in a good way. Looks like somebody's got a crush. The show wouldn't be Smallville without a new shipper.

In closing, this was one great episode. Its still Smallville, but there's lots of new stuff going on. Lots of new cast members. A new attitude for Clark. The beginning stages of his double life. The seeds of a romance with Lois have been planted. Chloe's got a new ability. Manhunter is powerless, and the Justice League has disbanded. Things really got shook up in this episode. But while all the new stuff makes it feel like a new version of the show... it really is still the same Smallville we've come to love. Just a little updated. It looks like we may actually get a "Meteor-Freak of the Week" episode next Thursday. Now if that's not old-school Smallville, I don't know what is.

The effects were pretty great and the score and sound effects were as good as ever. I'll admit, I was worried about season 8. But this premier has put those worries to rest and now I'm just super excited about the rest of the season.

Enjoy Smallville.

The A-Train's Smallville Season 8 Premier Rating: 4 out of 5 crystals.

ED: No. [Risas]

The time is now for Smallville to take the Superman mythos to the next level by teaming Clark and Lois at the "Daily Planet." With the CW series' season premiere a week away, TVGuide.com sought to squeeze some "scoop" out of Ms. Lane herself, Erica Durance. -- Matt Mitovich

TVGuide.com: First things first: How many episodes do we have you for this season?
Erica Durance: All I know is I'm doing more than my 13, but they won't tell me how many yet.

TVGuide.com: Those sneaks. Don’t they know you have bills to pay? Shoes to buy?
Durance: It is sneaky, right?!

TVGuide.com: Now that we're doing Lois and Clark at the "Daily Planet," do you feel as if, more than ever, all eyes are on you?
Durance: I would go crazy if I felt deeply that way. I would go insane! But what I do feel, because we're moving more towards that mythos, is that I have a lot more to do in each episode. I'm more involved, Lois is finding herself more, and she definitely is becoming that journalist that everyone loves. She's brushing shoulders with Clark a lot, so we have a lot of fun interplay. She'll go to investigate something, thinking that she's the one solving the problem, and meanwhile he's speeding around saving her a lot. It's quite funny.

TVGuide.com: Lois has taken some knocks for "sleeping her way" into the job and whatnot....
Durance: That's what I hear, yes. But in this season they've given her some great material and great intelligence. You'll see that she definitely didn't sleep her way into the job.

TVGuide.com: Obviously it's a very important turn that the show is taking. Have you and Tom Welling sat down to discuss how you're going to approach it?
Durance: The way it works, and it happened when I first came to the show, is you come together with your cast members and the producers and go over the flavor of what's happening with your story. And every year, I'm on the periphery, but I grow a little bit. When this year came around and it became clear where they wanted to take things, yeah, it was discussed. We take it very seriously, to make sure that we're doing it justice and making these characters lovable. The big flag I'm waving all the time is to make sure that Lois is intelligent and fun and lovable so that the audience will like the fact that Clark likes her, instead of going....

TVGuide.com: "She's not worthy! She's not worthy!"
Durance: Right. So we're making a special effort this year, even with the small nuances, to be truthful to the Superman mythos.

TVGuide.com: At the "Daily Planet," will we see Lois and Clark more as partners or as rivals?
Durance: You get a little bit of both. That’s what's been fun about the relationship, these moments where they're going head-to-head and then pull together when they have to, when the stakes are really high. Those moments where one of them goes, "You know what, you did do a good job." And the writers have been really good this year dropping little bombs of, "Oh my god, do they really love each other? Does she really love him?" There's a lot of that.

TVGuide.com: I had the opportunity to break the news about the kiss coming up in Episode 5, "Committed." How would you describe the heat-level of the lip lock?
Durance: Oh. Well… that never actually happened.

TVGuide.com: No!!!
Durance: There's no kiss. I'm sorry to tell you that! In our [final shooting script], that was not part of it. [In a side conversation, a CW publicist confirms that the kiss did in fact exist in an early draft of "Committed."] But there are some things that actually come out in that script that are really, really lovely. They get into a lot of trouble, and Lois has to admit feelings that she has for Clark, deep down, in front of him. [Sighs] I know this interview isn’t going as planned, but I can tell you that when there is a kiss, it will be hot! [Laughs]

TVGuide.com: OK.... What about talk that Clark will offer Lois a place to stay at the Kent farm?
Durance: Yes. Yes, he does offer her a place to stay, and she's avoiding the issue right now. There's a lot of things that happen in the scenes I'm doing where you definitely see that she is in love with Clark. She's doesn’t want him to know, but she does realize her real feelings for him. She just doesn’t know what to do with them. And they're going to build on that. But we're only on Episode 5, so I don’t know what's in the great future.

In Part 2: Erica Durance reveals what's new and improved with Clark Kent, teases the "heartache" that comes with Lana's return, and raves about the "sexy" Allison Mack.

TVGuide.com: I get a lot of Clois fans asking the question, "How quickly will we get a Lane-Kent byline on a story?"
Erica Durance: We haven't done the byline yet, but we have worked on stories together.

TVGuide.com: As he and Lois go undercover on assignments, will we see Clark more and more "disguised" in what will become his trademark glasses?
Durance: I haven't seen those pulled out yet, but it definitely is moving that way. What I really like about this year is they're making Clark more of his own man. Lois will think she's helping him, and he's incredibly patient as he keeps her out of danger, but he gets to solve problems and come to conclusions on his own; it's not always him needing someone to give him the information. He's going solo a lot more, and the fans will really enjoy seeing that.

TVGuide.com: What can you reveal about Lana's return?
Durance: I know that they're bringing her back [in Episode 10], and that creates some heartache for Lois. They have the whole triangle going again. I don't know exactly how they'll be doing that, but it will be in a way that's very hard for Lois. I wouldn't want to speak for Clark, but I think that he's kind of realizing glimpses of that and how he feels about Lois. He's just not willing to admit that to himself or to her. When Lana comes back, that creates a real problem.

TVGuide.com: A "super-conundrum."
Durance: A super-conundrum.

TVGuide.com: Will we see more of Oliver and Lois?
Durance: She does have to confront her break-up with Oliver, and they do have a few storylines together, but from what I have seen they are not getting back together in the near future.

TVGuide.com: What is Lois' relationship like with her new boss, Tess Mercer?
Durance: She fights with her. [Laughs] She's on the verge of getting fired, so she goes head-to-head with Tess. Listen, if something comes right at Lois' face, she steps in, she never backs off. So far, we've had a few moments where we are not on the same page, and there will be more of that as the season goes by.

TVGuide.com: Is Lois still pursuing the Lex story? At Comic-Con we saw her snooping around the mansion in a maid's outfit.
Durance: Yeah, she's still pursuing that story. It took the backburner for a couple of episodes, because Chloe was in trouble and Lois got sidetracked by some of her other stories. But that's always her main thing.

TVGuide.com: Speaking of Chloe, what's her cousin's take on her new friend, this Davis Bloome guy (aka supervillain Doomsday)?
Durance: She doesn't know what to think of him yet, that's for sure. She's trying to protect Chloe from herself. She thinks that Chloe has fallen too quickly for Jimmy and tries to give her some unwarranted advice and help on that front.

TVGuide.com: Which female character are you sharing scenes with most this season?
Durance: Chloe still. I did a few with Tess, but still Chloe.

TVGuide.com: One reader forwarded me a rumor that Lois would be pushing Clark in the direction of Chloe, but I don't see that happening.
Durance: No. [Laughs]

TVGuide.com: Over the past three years, you've risen on FHM's "Sexiest Women" list from No. 38 to No. 15. To what do you attribute that success? Fewer carbs?
Durance: I think they're being extremely generous! [Laughs] Those magazines are very lovely but there are women on there who I find to be much more stunning.

TVGuide.com: TVGuide.com did a poll of TV's Fittest Stars, and you ranked at the top of that.
Durance: Wow! That's nice.

TVGuide.com: But I have to tell you that Allison Mack beat you in our Sexiest Sci Fi Stars poll a few weeks ago....
Durance: Well, I agree with that. I've seen her in person and she is very sexy. She doesn't see herself that way, but I see her like that.
