Damerna spelade match mot "kompisarna" i Helsingborg. Jämn första halvlek slutade i seger med ungefär 20 p. Lisa Ängefjord hade en bra skottdag och Eos spelade bra mot zonen. Detta trots att inte Helen och Theresia var med. Natalia och Sofia gjorde ett bra jobb.

Kanslichefens helg har bara varit fotboll. Tyringe IF bjöd på spänning med ambulans och avbruten match efter kollision mellan en spelare i TIF och målvakten. Sen var det tydligen Sverige som spelade 0-0, 3-5-2 funkade tydligen sådär. Jag tycker Lagerbäck borde testa 3-3-3 med en släpande.

Själv har jag tillbringat helgen på Österlen. Trevligt B&B på "Rapsbollen" med Staffan som värd. Det blev både att bo i ett Feng Shui inrett rum, galleribesök, 80-tals cykling till Kåseberga för middag på Vendels, qi gong med Staffan och en härlig frukost med hembakat bröd. Har ni inget annat att göra är "Rapsbollen" att rekommendera. Efter "Rapsbollen" fortsatte resan till Olof Viktors, Hylkegården, Orelund, Mellby Skola och Buhres Fisk. Allt rekommenderas varmt.

There are quite a lot Feng Shui Masters running around this city checking for their comsumers, evaluate the porperty and giving speeches. The most funny thing appealing to me may be that, even the government, will consult to these Feng Shui theory when making urban planning. Not usual in other cities though?

Hi, My name is Joy and I am a Paperholic.

I’m grateful to be here with you today at Paperholics Anonymous. I don’t know where else I can turn.

My addiction began innocently enough. I was in college, writing an essay on feminist thought in early Ibsen. I had notes on index cards, notes on scrap paper, notes on the backs of envelopes and in the margins of books.

It was 6 a.m. and I’d been working on this !@#$% since noon the previous day. It was due in two hours and I COULD NOT FIND the scrap on which the perfect ending quote was scrawled.

I pawed pathetically through the papers till my desk looked like the bottom of a hamster’s cage. Minutes before my deadline the note surfaced and I typed my brilliant conclusion.

But ever since that day I’ve had a Paper Problem.

I LOVE paper. Books, magazines and newspapers, of course. But even better I like articles clipped from magazines and ripped from newspapers. I read the newspaper like I’m on an easter egg hunt. I scan to rule out all the drivel I don’t want to read, but when I find an interesting article, I tear it out and set it aside to read later.

The pile on which I place it grows ever taller, because every day there’s more to read. The pile must compete with a steady influx of the New Yorker and Newsweek magazines (both relentless weeklies – I get only one monthly, National Geographic.)

The New Yorker is especially challenging because I like to rip out the good cartoons to distribute to various acquaintances. Like here’s one for my son, the industrial designer:

The only good news is that I’ve managed to cut my junk mail and catalog intake to almost zero. (This demands dogged dialing to each company’s 800 number.)

Two spots compete to attract the most paper: the end of my kitchen counter, and the top of my desk. It’s an all or nothing proposition. If the space is clear, I can stay on the wagon… for awhile.

But then I have a little slip; maybe I get too busy to put things away before I rush off to the next thing. “I’ll just put it here for now…” I tell myself, as I set a piece of paper on the counter top.

I should know by now I can’t just save one piece of paper. Before I know what hit me I’m buried again.

How buried? Imagine an exhibit at the Natural History Museum, where you’ve got a cross-section of the earth’s layers…

The top-most layer is light and fluffy – mostly current newsprint, Toyota tuneup coupons and an occasional offer for a 2-for-1 dinner.  That’s about six inches deep.

The next 6” layer is more compressed – printouts of articles I read online, reports, manuals, magazines yet to be ripped into. Printer paper doesn’t fluff as nicely as ripped newsprint.

From time to time, I moisten the pile with a cup of spilled coffee or tea. Using both hands like salad tongs, I turn the pile as I seek some piece of wisdom I know is about halfway down. This serves to aerate the pile nicely. Over time, the lowest layers begin to heat up and decompose.

The bottom six inches is where my addiction begins to pay off. That’s where I’ve got dark brown crumbly compost, complete with happy earthworms. It grows great tomatoes.

You may ask, what have I tried to cure my addiction?

I had great hopes when it was rumored that the advent of computers would bring us the paperless office. This didn't work for me: my computer just brought me in contact with MORE articles I wanted to print.

I tried taping my eyes shut so I could no longer read. I tried going cold turkey – installing a paper detection/rejection system at the door.

But then I found myself rifling through my neighbor’s recycle bins in the middle of the night seeking day-old paper.

So, now I’ve hit bottom and I’m here at Paperholics Anonymous. Can you help me?

3 Stunden später hatte ich aber:

• Zwei der allseits bekannten Regal-Exemplare eines schwedischen Möbelherstellers (na wer wohl? komplett leergeräumt, mit enormen Kraftaufwand etwas verstellt (einfach verschieben ist nicht - das nimmt der Parkett-Boden übel) und dann wieder eingeräumt
• die beiden Regale zusammengeschraubt, damit sie auch fest stehen und nicht mehr wackeln (erstaunlicherweise war der Boden an der neuen Stelle nicht ganz eben)
• kurzen Ausflug in die Küche gemacht und die Dunstabzugshaube demontiert (damit ich die Steckerleiste, die ich einst dort verbaut hatte, rausnehmen und ins Wohnzimmer verfrachten konnte)
• 3 total verstaubte verschiedene Pflanzen kurz in die Dusche gestellt und etwas Regen simuliert (nett von mir, oder?)
• Lampen und Pflanzen neu im Zimmer vergeteilt
• aufgeräumt und sauber gemacht
• kurz zurückgelehnt und gedacht "Ne, so sieht das Sch*** aus"
• zwecks Dokumentation noch schnell ein paar Beweisfotos für eine Bekannte gemacht, die innenarchitektonisch veranlagt ist (sind das nicht alle Frauen?)
• Regale nochmal ausgeräumt und deren Verschraubung gelöst
• Position von Regalen und Sessel vertauscht, die Regale wieder eingeräumt und aneinander geschraubt
• TV-Bank erneut verschoben und festgestellt, dass ich jetzt die Steckerleiste nun doch nicht mehr brauche (egal: die Dunstabzugshaube kommt auch mit der Zwischenlösung von vorhin klar)
• Pflanze und Lampen neu im Zimmer verteilt
• Riesen-Poster (leider aus mehreren Einzel-Bildern), von der Wand genommen und an eine neue Stelle verfrachtet (mal sehen wie lange der Tesa das aushält)
• Nochmal sauber gemacht (woher kommt schon wieder dieser ganze Staub?)

Und jetzt? Ausser Spesen nix gewesen könnte man behaupten?
Nein. Absolut nicht. Das Wohnzimmer ist jetzt zwar nach wie vor nicht Feng-Shui konform, gefällt mir jetzt erstmal viel viel besser und meine langweiligen schwedischen Spanplatten-Möbel individuellen Designermöbel aus hochwertigem Holz kommen viel viel besser zur Geltung. Viel grösser kommt der Raum jetzt auch rüber und nicht nur das: da ist jetzt wirklich weit mehr Platz. Also ich bin zufrieden mit meiner Aktion. Mal sehen was für Feedback ich von den Live-Betrachtern so kriegen werde (wenns überhaupt jemandem auffällt).

Eine Lampe musste ich allerdings gerade schon wieder umstellen: das Licht war fürs Fernsehen nämlich gar nicht geeignet.
Klingt irgendwie als würde das eine unendliche Geschichte werden. Durchaus möglich. Ich hab mir für die nächste Zeit schon ein paar Sachen vorgenommen (Bilder verschieben, TV-Bank vergrössern, neue Wandregale, ...). Hoffe ich kümmer mich da auch wirklich drum - ich kann mich nämlich ziemlich gut mit Situationen bzw. Provisorien einfach abfinden und habe dann überhaupt keine Bedürfnisse mehr etwas zu verändern. Aber wehe wenn ich anfange...

Einen guten Vorsatz noch: die nächste Wohnzimmerpflanze, die trotz meiner wirklich sehr fürsorglichen Pflege (Ironie!) eingeht, wird nicht mehr ersetzt. Das Wohnzimmer verträgt jetzt wirklich etwas weniger der grünen Pracht.

Do people feel more motivated and inspired to be creative and productive because of the change?  Do the children look happy and smiling and are they laughing as they freely play in the space?  Do wild and domesticated animals seem calm and content as can be determined by their natural movements in the space?

Durante éste mes rige la estrella uno al centro. Cuidado con las inundaciones, fugas de agua y fenómenos naturales relacionados con el agua. Es un mes favorable en cuestiones económicas, el amor se percibirá detenido o lento, con etapas de aburrimiento. Cuidado con la salud de la persona mayor de casa, sobre todo con el papá. Se puede presentar discusiones con los hijos; la hija menor se puede portar rebelde y desobediente.

 Here’s an excerpt from Don Miguel Ruiz’s book “The Voice of Knowledge” that explains this beautifully.

“There’s a movie called A Beautiful Mind. The main character is a schizophrenic. He’s a brilliant man, a genius, but he see’s people who don’t exist. These people are controlling his life because he listens to their opinions and follows whatever they tell him to do. They’re lying to him, and by listening to what they tell him, he’s ruining his life. He has no idea that these people are hallucinations until his wife puts him in a mental hospital; here he’s diagnosed as schizophrenic and given medication. The visions disappear, but the drug has secondary effects, and he decides to stop taking it. Without the drug, the visions come back, and he finds out that it’s true that nobody else can see the people he sees. Now he has to make a choice: go back to the hospital, lose his wife, and accept that he’s mentally ill, or face the visions and overcome them.

When he finally has the awareness that the people he sees aren’t real, he makes a very smart decision. He says, I will not pay attention to then. I will not believe what they tell me. The power the visions have over him is lost when he no longer believes in them. With this awareness, he finds peace, and after many years of not putting his attention on them, the visions hardly talk to him anymore. Even though he still sees them, they don’t waste their time because he doesn’t listen to them anyway.

This movie is wonderful because it shows that if you don’t believe the voice in your head, it loses the power it has over you, and you become authentic again. The voice in your head isn’t even real, but it’s ruling your life, and it’s a tyrant. Once that voice hooks your attention, it makes you do whatever it wants you to do.

How many times has the voice made you say yes when you really wanted to say no? Or the opposite – the voice made you say no when you really wanted to say yes? That voice tells you so many things to do that go against yourself, just like the visions of the character in the movie. The only difference between you and that man is that maybe you don’t see the visions, but you hear the voice.”

So remember to watch the voice in your head. If you start hearing negative thoughts about yourself like “I can’t do this” or “I’m not good enough” or “I’m not smart enough” or “she’s better at that than me,” just say to yourself “Cancel Clear” and start again with a positive, friendly thought. Watch your internal dialogue and also watch your “verbal diet.” Feng Shui your thoughts. It takes practice, but when you continue to do this you’ll see that your life will transform.

En casi todas las consultas que recibo de principiantes y entusiastas del BaZi, hay un denominador común: Ausencia de la terminología correcta en sus consultas. Las personas son reacias a usar los nombres chinos de las energías y en su lugar hablan de Fuego Yang o Fuego Yin, cuando es más fácil decir simplemente Bing o Ding.

BaZi significa 8 Caracteres. Estos 8 caracteres se derivan de la data de nacimiento de cada persona; el año, mes, día y hora forman 4 columnas denominadas "Pilares" las cuales tienen 2 Caracteres cada una. Los 4 pilares suman 8 caracteres, por lo que este método es llamado Los Cuatro Pilares del Destino o Los Ocho Caracteres del Destino.  Un BaZi representa las energías reinantes en el momento exacto del nacimiento de una persona.

En cada pilar se indica uno de los 5 Elementos añadiéndole su polaridad Yin o Yang. Esto es por que el BaZi al igual que todas las artes metafísicas chinas se fundamenta en la teoría de los 5 Elementos o Wu Xing, solo que al dividir cada elemento en sus 2 polaridades, se trabaja en consecuencia con 10 Elementos denominados en el lenguaje BaZi "Los 10 Tallos Celestiales".

Así cuando analizamos un Bazi debemos pensar en  los 10 Tallos Celestiales y no en los 5 Elemento.

En la primera Línea o primer carácter de cada pilar se reflejan los Tallos Celestiales. Los Tallos Celestiales representan el Qi  de la superficie. La visión de la vida de una persona, lo que otros pueden apreciar; en otras palabras es lo que se enseña al mundo

En la segunda línea de la carta BaZi aparecen las “Ramas Terrestres”, simbólicamente representadas por los 12 animales del zodiaco Chino. Las Ramas Terrestres representan las raíces de la Carta BaZi, las energías más fuertes, las que nos cuentan verdaderamente el código del destino de un ser humano.

¿Quien es la persona en la Carta BaZi? es el Tallo Celestial del Pilar del Día de Nacimiento conocido como Día Maestro.

Las 12 Ramas Terrestres 地支

Las 12 Ramas Terrestres son las raíces del Día Maestro, el sustento del Chi de la superficie. El Chi de las ramas es más fuerte e impactante dentro de la carta BaZi que el chi de los Tallos Celestiales.

Las 12 ramas son popularmente representadas por animales pero nunca debemos imaginarlas como un animal real o una personalidad especifica. Sabemos que la tierra tarda 12 meses o 12 movimientos en realizar una orbita completa alrededor del sol; cada movimiento es representado por una rama. También tarda 12 horas en girar sobre si misma, cada hora es representada por una rama.

Por esto las Ramas terrestres representan el Chi Terrestre; cuando nos referimos a una rama específica abarcamos muchas cosas, una estación, un mes, una hora, un cuerpo de Chi.

Sumando los 10 Tallos Celestiales con las 12 Ramas Terrestres pareciera que tuviéramos que aprendernos 22 energías, pero en realidad ¡Siempre estamos hablando de 10 Tipos de Chi o los 5 Elementos, en sus fases Yin o Yang! por que las 12 Ramas Terrestres están compuestas de estas 10 energías. Cada Rama terrestre carga 1, 2 o 3 tipos de Chi denominados Tallos  Ocultos.

Por ejemplo, la Serpiente está compuesta de Fuego como elemento predominante, más Tierra Yang (Wu) y Metal Yang (Geng) como elementos secundarios. Para ponerlo en términos numéricos: La rama Serpiente está formada por un 60% de fuego, 20% de Tierra y 20% de Metal

Solo hay 3 Ramas puras: Rata, Conejo y Gallo. Todas las demás contienen 2 o 3 tipos de energía.

Tallos Ocultos en las Ramas Terrestres

Al Final de cada estación la Tierra toma el poder y es por eso que las Ramas de Tierra son las energías de transición entre dos estaciones; al final del invierno tenemos la rama Chou-Buey que contiene tierra húmeda, tierra de invierno; al final de la primavera llega Chen-Dragón que contiene Tierra seca, tierra de primavera y así sucesivamente

Cuando piense en un Tigre no lo asocie a un animal, sino a un gran árbol, un poco de Sol y de Tierra seca. Cuando una persona necesita Madera y Fuego para equilibrar su carta, la llegada de un Tigre en periodos calendario le aportará el Chi que necesita

Interpretar un BaZi requiere un montón de imaginación, visualizar un paisaje que será agradable o desagradable según las características de las energías predominantes dentro de la carta.

Un DM Yi -Madera Yin- nacido en mes Rata, en principio es fuerte por que la estación está generándolo y necesita debilitarse para alcanzar el equilibrio. Probablemente necesitará Fuego que lo caliente y lo haga sentir confortable en la frialdad del invierno. Su DM debe generar el fuego y el metal puede ayudarlo, cortando la madera para hacer la hoguera. Obviamente es un análisis muy superficial por que estamos viendo solo el mes de nacimiento. La cuestión es que el mes de nacimiento nos dice mucho de una persona por que representa la estación, nos define la cualidad de las energías en la carta

All over the world there has been a boom in interest in feng shui and contrary to popular belief, the application of feng shui need not be oriental. Traditional people all over the world have observed, recorded and reached an understanding of the ways in which different places and homes affect one’s well being and fortune.

Urban life everywhere, and particularly in the West, has become a remote controlled, instant food and push-button society. As a result we have become alien to the natural world, thereby exposing ourselves to increasing levels of toxicity, pollution and cramped living environments Feng shui is all about movement of energy and balance.  The underlying principle of feng shui is that everything in your overall and immediate surroundings which can be as basic as the smallest details of furnishing and decor, can either work in favor of your well being and your aims and goals, or go against you. 

The human body is a measure of all things in the Universe.  A structure cannot be put up without a plan or design.  The importance of aligning rooms and corners, and applying calculations that will be in harmony with nature, is the fundamental concept of feng shui. 

There are subtle currents of energy called ‘Chi’ which flows through our body and through everything in the universe.  If we understand the Chi, we can arrange our living and working environments to help us to achieve our goals. 

However we should bear in mind the fact that energy is not just about aligning the space and place of dwelling.  It also relates to the energy of the individual.  This is referred to as the “inner feng shui.” It goes without saying that it is vital to maintain the food energy balance for healthy living. 

The character Chi represents the fundamental energy of the Universe.  We are all born with plentiful supply of Chi, but as we grow, it is used up.  It needs to be restored and the source of that essential replenishment is food. 

In today’s era in which everything is just whirl and go, everyone has become obsessed with speed.  Most people view food as a mere facility and that is why so many people suffer from digestion problems. A cook needs basic elements like Water, Fire, Air, Metal and Earth.  The earth is the basic platform on which nearly all activities take place, and this includes cooking as well.  Any contemporary kitchen consists or must consist of the same five fundamental elements. The best feng shui advice is to prepare and cook food in a room that is separated from the rest of the living space.  Chinese cooking methods range across a spectrum that embraces the polar energies of Yin and Yang.  When we classify food further on the basis of their preparations, we get Yin food and Yang food. 

Plants and the position in which they are placed contribute to the positive feel of any space.  In feng shui, plants have an important role.  It is said that they bring life force or Prana into the home and keep the air clean.  Plants should be strong and healthy.  Sick plants and plants which shed their leaves profusely should be avoided.  The energy in the plants varies depending on its shape and size. Upright plants with slightly pointed leaves are considered ‘yang’ and are generally used in the South Corners and in narrow areas to move the energy. 

Round leaves and drooping leaves are used to calm down strong energy and are preferred for the North Corners.

When we arrange our rooms and space, we must de-clutter the space to create the physical space for energy to flow. An important aspect of good feng shui is placements.  Take care to position objects in a way that it does not block energy flow.  When positioning sofa or furniture ensure that you always have a clear view of the door.  In feng shui, locating the right place to sleep or sit is called locating the ‘power spot.’   This is the place where you feel you have the most control and visibility.  But this should not be in line with the door receiving the strongest flow of Chi.

Remember, that we need space to live and move and certain guidelines based on sound commonsense, should govern the allocation of space and objects in it and this balance is what feng shui is all about.

También se utiliza con mucha efectividad el luopan en el caso de postes de luz, ya que en el disco del luopan se encuentran los ciclos de energía de los cinco elementos con todas sus variaciones, es decir que tenemos los trigramas, los troncos celestes, las ramas terrestres y otros caracteres cíclicos en los que la energía se va desplazando de uno a otro conforme se generan los elementos, es por eso que, en el caso del poste de luz es muy efectivo, ya que el poste es un shar combinado de madera por la forma, metal por el material y fuego por la corriente eléctrica, por lo que al colocar el luopan la energía perversa de estos elementos será absorbida y girará dentro de los ciclos que se encuentran grabados en el disco.

En el caso de subestaciones eléctricas o transformadores es lo mismo y el efecto se puede sentir apenas se coloca el luopan, por lo que éste es un método muy popular en el sudeste asiático, sobre todo en Hong Kong y Taiwán.

Algunos maestros de escuelas tradicionales no están de acuerdo con esta utilización del luopan, ya que les parece que es una falta de respeto colocar el luopan con sus signos sagrados en un lugar donde recibirá energía nefasta de un shar, pero también es necesario recalcar que esos mismos maestros no utilizan ninguno de los métodos del feng shui moderno tal como se conoce hoy en día y normalmente no son practicantes de la escuela de estrellas volantes, por lo que en nuestro caso no tomamos en cuenta su opinión, ya que en nuestra escuela sí se utiliza y con excelentes resultados.

Cuando la energía de la casa tiene demasiados problemas debido a las formas y estrellas, de tal modo que no existe manera de solucionar la situación y una remodelación sería imposible, un método muy practicado en China es utilizar el luopan como activador del eje Cielo Tierra para dar poder a una imagen religiosa.

Para esto se coloca el luopan como base del incensario y la posición del disco no dependerá de lo que indique la aguja magnética sino que se determinará conforme a la orientación de la imagen y a su naturaleza.

En China se distinguen normalmente las imágenes de Cielo y de Tierra. Las imágenes celesticales son Kuan Yin, Di Zang Pusa o cualquier otro de los Buddhas o Bodhisattvas, así como los Genios Taoístas o el Kuan Ti Kong. En este caso, como el ser cuya presencia se desea fortalecer en la casa para pedir su protección viene desde el Cielo, el luopan se colocará con el Sur (180º) mirando hacia el frente de la imagen o sea en la dirección hacia donde la imagen mira. En el Sur se encuentra el trigrama Qian, que está asociado al Cielo y por tanto el ser que se invita vendrá desde el Cielo.

En el caso de los Guardianes de Tierra, como el Tei Dzy Kong Kong, el luopan se coloca con el Norte hacia el lado donde mira la imagen, es decir que se invoca al ser a venir desde la Tierra, para así de ese modo obtener la protección para la vivienda.

Este método es muy efectivo cuando no tenemos ninguna solución de feng shui aparente, pero las consecuencias de su uso normalmente serán que las personas que habitan esa casa tendrán menos molestias y la posibilidad de mudarse a un lugar con mejor feng shui. Hay que tener en cuenta que muchas de las casas con mal feng shui "atrapan" a los moradores hasta secarles la última gota de energía, por lo que es conveniente utilizar este método en esos casos.

Así vemos como el luo pan no es sólo un instrumento de medición, sino que también se puede utilizar en algunos casos específicos como instrumento de disolución de las malas energías.

The Chinese equivalent for Heaven Luck, Man Luck, Earth Luck is Tian Yun, Ren Yun, Di Yun and the term Yun refers to cycles of time, so it is concerned with the time aspect and not with luck or fortune telling. Often in Feng Shui we neglected the form of a building and only concerned with the numbers or to get rich with a “water method” and to place the so-called cures everywhere to lessen our worries.

Use only numbers to do a FS audit have its limitations and scholars of past and present have often criticized this type of numerical determinism. Here is an example of what Chu Hsi said on fate and divination using numbers, from p. 627 of “A Source Book in Chinese Philosophy”:

“Thereupon the question: At present the school of occultism (divination and the use of numbers), such as that of Shao Yung, asserts that all is predetermined and cannot be changed. What do you say?

Answer: They can only show the general course in which the principle of the prosperity and decline and the augmentation and diminution of yin and yang is revealed. Sages and worthies did not hold such theories. At present people expounding Shao Yung’s (system based on) number assert that he said everything and every event succeeds or fails at a predetermined point of time. Such exposition is superficial.”

 Here is another quote on Shao Yung by Prof. Chan Wing-Tsit in p. 487 of his book mentioned above:

 “Shao was one of the few Chinese philosophers who tried to formulate a metaphysical theory of history. Like most others he could not get away from the concept of cycles. By combining the idea of cycles with his own theory of numbers, he viewed history as an infinite series of cycles. Starting with the traditional unit of 30 years for a generation, he held that a revolution consists of 12 generations (like a day with 12 periods), or 360 years, that an epoch consists of 30 revolutions (like a month with 30 days), or 10,800 years, and that a cycle consists of 12 epochs (again like 12 months in a year), or 129,600 years. The first three epochs according to him, corresponding to the first months of the year or the first three periods of the day in which yang begins to rise and things grow gradually. Thus the first three epochs are the period of the birth of heaven, earth and man successively. By the end of the sixth epoch (64,800 years), or June, yang reaches its height. This is the time of sage-emperors Yao and Shun. In his own time (75,600 years), or the eleventh century, yang begin to decline and yin rises. Eventually after 129,600 years, the whole cycle would end and another cycle would begin all over.

The whole scheme is as arbitrary as it is superficial. The idea that one world succeeds another is evidently Buddhist-influenced, for Buddhism conceives existence in terms of an infinite series of worlds, whereas the Chinese idea of cycles means rise and fall within the history of this world.”

Someone said once, “For those who think a number is just a number and the 9 numbers do not represent a living spirit, however, why not just find that 5 and spit in the face of the area. See what happens.” And I replied, “For your record, I have “find that 5 and spit in the face of the area” many times and nothing happened!”

Numbers are symbols; in San Yuan Feixing they represent the Gua or the Star qi. Contrary to what you said, they don’t represent a living spirit; they only represent a conceptual quality of qi in time. We make the numbers up and we make them come alive with our intentions and we give them power with our interpretations, the numbers don’t exist by themselves and they don’t have a power of their own. But we seem to think otherwise, so here laid the major difference between a “rational” and “non-rational” understanding of FS and here is also the source of my worries for the future of FS, for what we are doing with Feng Shui fortune –telling is running the risk of turning it into a game of playing with numbers and make these numbers real so the 5 Yellow is the cause of all our troubles! No wonders a lot of people think FS is superstitious.

Instead, we should look to the Stars and Gua Numbers for inspiration and not for pre-determination. Chu Hsi again, “It is true that each man has his destiny, but he should not fail to obey the correct destiny….Whenever a man has done his best, there he has his destiny alone.” So we should use Feng Shui to help us to do our best to achieve our true destiny and not to use it to create a false destiny and take away the power of our free will to fulfill our highest potential.

This is the way I was taught:

1)    Destiny

2)    Cycles (of good and bad luck)

3)    Feng Shui

4)    Do good deeds

5)    Read books

1 to 5 shows an increasing order of free will and a decreasing order of heaven’s mandate. 5 to 1 shows an increasing order of heaven’s mandate and a decreasing order of free will. Feng Shui in the middle influences both our destiny and our free will and the more we try to do our best the closer we get to our true destiny. Feng Shui may count only 20% but it holds the key to destiny and free will and it can change our life if we know how to find it.

So do you do this with the star charts and talk about the living spirits and give them some Wuxing cures or do you give them some practical advice on how to make their environment physically more supportive as well?

The ancient Chinese did not rely solely on divination, they used “Bu”and “Mu” (Bu-divination, Mu-planning) at the same time to assess a situation and make his decisions. They used “Bu” to help them “Mu” because they realized rational thinking has its limitations so they used synchronicity of numbers to help them to achieve a broader understanding, they realized one needs the other to be whole.

What we do in modern time is to separate the two modes of thinking and put our faith in either one of them and not using both together to our advantage. That is our problem. If we believe in Yin and Yang, then to know our limitation is also to know our potential and if we put a limit to our limit then we will also put a limit to our potential. I find it extraordinary for one human being to say to another: you will only live to 64 or you will only make half a million and no more. Can we be so limiting about human potential?

To me the real aim of Chinese astrology is to know yourself and to know your potential in time and the real aim of Feng Shui is to know your environment and its potential in space as well. Since time exists in the past, present and future mode and the past is gone while the future is yet to know, it would be more useful if we concentrate on the here and now and let go of the past and let the future take care of itself.

Sure, Chinese astrology and Feng Shui can help us to lessen our anxiety about the future and the past, but it will not help us live a more productive life if we don’t use them as tools to help us make better decisions for the here and now. To turn them into fortune telling will only give us false hopes and false fears and put a foregone limit to our potentials.

The truth of the matter is we don’t really know what is our true or false fate up front, or what is genuine or not genuine until after the event. Like the new science of complexity, the ancient mysterious art of numbers, Xiang Shu Shu or the Study of Numbers and Symbols, is just a mean to an end – to help us make better decisions and to help us cope better with our lives, no more and no less.

San den fong shui son 20 años un periodo, 3 periodos de 2º años son 60 años que es un ciclo, 3 ciclos de 60 años dan un total de 180 años, una era y 20 era de 180 años da 3600 años una época, la función de Pakua del cielo posterior es estudiar y calcular el factor tiempo, en el fong shui, un yun (periodo) , que significa "suerte" en chino, contiene 20 años, 3 periodos es un yuan (1 ciclo) luego 3 yuan (3 ciclos) es una era y 20 eras se convierten en una época.

San den quiere decir primeros 20 años.

El pa kua del cielo posterior sirve para estudiar estos cambios, es decir según el yun que se encuentre en cada año y la orientación de la construcción, podemos deducir desde como va a evolucionar la situación de la persona que vive o trabaja allí, hasta donde se puede ubicar la piscina, etc.

Ahora estamos en el yun 7 (1984- 2003) y en el año 2004 cambia otro yun de 20 años, yun 8 (2004-2023) entonces cambia la suerte.

HOU TIEN PAKUA: Esto lo inventó el Rey de la Dinastía Chou que se llamaba Wan, por eso también se llama Wen Wang Pa Kua (pa kua del cielo posterior) los 8 kuas son iguales y los elementos igual pero la distribución es diferente, el norte es Kan, sur Li, suroeste Kun, este Zhen, oeste Tuci, sureste Shiun, noroeste Chien, noroeste Ken, centro Tai chi, cambia no solo la numeración también la dirección. Hien Tien Pa Kua es fijo, Hou Tien Pakua es variable.

Ejemplos de cómo varía Hou Tien Pa kua:

Su alumno tenia la oficina detrás de la casa, en cuanto estudio la casa le comunico que debía de estar perdiendo dinero, el alumno le contesto que si, había perdido mucho dinero , después le dio un consejo, quita el agua de la piscina, esto explica que la dirección de la casa y hou tiem pa kua tienen una estrecha relación , depende de la sección por ejemplo estos 20 años no son de fortuna y si esta delante de la casa la piscina es fortuna, depende del año, cuando en el 2004, acaben los 20 años , cambia todo y hay que volver a revisar. Si no entiendes y tienes una piscina puede ocasionar muchos problemas, si es piso alto menos influye más bajo influye más, si aprendemos bien podemos ayudar a mucha gente.

Un amigo de Málaga tiene un restaurante en frente del Corte Ingles en la calle principal y su negocio va mal, cuando visita su restaurante le aconseja cambiar la puerta en otra dirección que esta en un callejón, según el sien tien pa kua su restaurante, la puerta junto a la calle tiene poco espacio y un edificio grande delante esta mal. La gente que vive ahí o trabaja ahí siempre tendrá que hacer mucho esfuerzo y no obtiene buenos resultados, según la brújula la dirección de la puerta no es buena fortuna. Como infortuna delante montaña a tras agua, si no es montaña es un edificio alto, es igual (eso es en 20 años, luego puede cambiar) al cambiar la puerta todo muy bien pero solo hasta el año 2003 a partir del 4 de febrero del 2004 puede cambiar la suerte.
Si nos referimos a los 5 elementos debemos referirnos a general y contrario, como en esa lista puede tener 24 cambios, todas las direcciones cambian y los números unos cambian, cambia el principal y sus dos números superiores Fénix y Tortuga varían, esto es necesario que un maestro les guíe en el aprendizaje de este método.

I had recently taken a class at Caldwell College, given by Feng Shui Designs out of California, for the Advanced Feng Shui Practitioner. This was the third such certification course I had taken with Feng Shui Designs because I find them to be outstanding teachers, very ethical and they give their students the tools they need to have a successful Feng Shui Consultation/Teaching practice. So, as usual, thank you Helen and James Jay. (My Feng Shui book entitled, Feng Shui This! A Guide to Health, Wealth and Happiness -- which is almost completed -- is dedicated to them).

As we were sharing stories of our Feng Shui consultation experiences, one young woman in class told us of her ordeal in Tahiti. She lives in Hawaii and was chosen by a Hawaii resident who was the sister of a group in Tahiti. The reason I bring this particular story to your attention is (for all new consultants) that a practitioner or consultant can go above and beyond what is normally expected of a Feng Shui consultant and this particular woman certainly did. (She asked that I not use her name, but had permission to write his abbreviated version of her story).

Her consult was going to be for a two week period. Her airfare was paid but many of her other expenses were not. She was given a place to stay on the property so was at the mercy of her clients. As time went on, she had learned that it was a much bigger piece of land with more than seven structures or farms, as I recall, on them. At one point, she had to swim in a lagoon about 500 meters to get to the other side. The people with her were clapping their hands loudly and she didn't know why, but later found out that the water had small sharks in it and the noise "usually" kept them away! Her clothes were carried in an ice chest that one of her helpers brought along. I kept suggesting that she advertise: Feng Shui Consultant Who Is Willing To Swim with Sharks! That in itself was unbelievable and we were all glad there were no accidents or attacks.

As we talked on about this particular consultation, we learned that she had stayed in a room on one of the farms with the family who owned the property. She told us later that her room had rats in it. She ate meals with the family -- so again was at their mercy because one never knows what someone is going to serve for meals and if you would like it or not, especially being from Hawaii and then America. We all have our own likes and dislikes and it would be easier if you could be in a hotel where you could order from a menu according to your tastes. The most disturbing thing was that her day started at 6:00 AM when she got up and then left the farm at 7:30 AM and the day ended at 11:00 PM because she was with this family and had to go according to their schedule. (By talking with her, it did seem as if they were taking advantage the whole time she was there, but this is my opinion).

She had to tell the owners of the property to buy 100 pounds of rice which had to be transported by wheel barrow. Rice is fairly cheap; however, the outdoor blessing took a few days and she actually mixed the ingredients for the blessing one bowl at a time! She also personally paid for the countless packages of realgar (a very expensive ingredient in yard or house blessings) and took that fee out of her total consultation fee.

The more we heard about this consultation, the more we had known that our fellow Advanced FS Practitioner had been taken advantage of. Although she did manage a $15,000 fee for the two weeks, after deducting many expenses which were not paid for by the client separately, she figured out that she may have gotten $10,000-11,000 out of the deal. Yes, this sounds like a lot, but for the amount of time she had put into this assignment, plus the never ending additional assignments that followed and was included in same consultation, she had been taken for a ride - or should we say Swim?

Then she informed us that the people kept emailing her with never ending questions when she returned home and wanted this to be considered as part of the original fee for her two weeks' work. We had to inform her that it was not part of the original fee or agreement and to tell the client she was busy and that they could set up an appointment for an hour at a set fee and she could answer all of their questions then.

The point I am trying to make is that as consultants, we need to be covered too. I have come from a corporate background where I worked for a lawyer twenty out of the thirty years with the same Fortune 50 company. I cannot stress the fact enough that we all need contracts with specific hours, specific tasks that we will accomplish during our consultation at a specific fee. The word here as you may have noticed is SPECIFIC. Have a contract so both of you know what is expected of you and vice versa.

You don't have to swim with sharks or sleep with rats. You don't need to sleep in your client's home eating food that you may not like AND you need your own space to reflect, meditate, or do something on your own time. This is not slave labor, we provide a valuable service for a reasonable work schedule. We can work a regular 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM day or as many consultants prefer, limit your consultation to six hours per day. This is draining enough without going on into the wee hours of the night and/or morning. Long hours are ridiculous especially if this is in a foreign country -- wouldn't it be nice to see the local scenery and meet some of the natives on your own and not be inundated with never ending questions which totally drain your energy and health?

Don't be taken advantage of if you are a consultant; if you are a client, do not take advantage of your consultant as most will not stand for it and the ones that will - well, we are trying to teach them to be more assertive and build up healthy boundaries that everyone can respect.

All in all, the class was wonderful, but this story was a real eye opener. I will always remember the woman who swam with sharks...

I later wondered if I would ever be that dedicated?

Das studieren solcher Literatur kann aber auch einiges bewegen. So bin ich mal wieder auf meinem Feng Shui Aufräumtrip. Heute war Metall- und Elektroschott-Aktion in der Straße. Das war die Gelegenheit, mich von alten, nicht mehr funktionierenden und kellervermüllenden Geräten zu trennen. Auch Papier wurde gleich entsorgt. Soviele alte Zeitschriften, lose Blätter usw. Wahnsinn, die Papiertonne ist schon wieder fast voll! Die nächsten Tage werde ich dann noch den Sperrmüll bestellen und einiges entsorgen. So fühlt es sich schon gleich wieder besser an und schafft Platz für schöne neue Sachen!

Casas más altas que la calle.

La base debe de estar al mismo nivel del suelo, esta seria lo adecuado. Si esta por debajo de la calle esta mal. Si la casa sube 45 cm del suelo, en casos como este la energía del suelo no debe ser superior a 21 cm, si es asi la energía se perderá rápidamente hacia la calle y aunque se gane mucho dinero se perderá también.

La distancia entre la casa y la calle, si esta distancia de la puerta de la casa hasta donde bajan los escalones, si esta distancia es más de 2 metros no hay problemas (estará bien), necesita un rellano de 2 metros antes de empezar las escaleras.

Si la puerta y las escaleras dan a el rellano y es muy pequeño, esto no es bueno para la casa, la distancia de la puerta a las escaleras necesita al menos de 2 metros, si es más amplia lo ideal es el doble de la altitud de la puerta o también un muro delante, así la energía del suelo es parada por el muro y no sale tan pronto, también en los apartamentos, si al salir de la casa se encuentran las escaleras muy cerca, hacia abajo, eso está muy mal.

En la primera planta, el primer piso, si al salir se encuentra las escaleras de frente y enfrentadas con la puerta del portal eso es muy malo, aunque se gane mucho se perderá mucho dinero, una solución sería un muro o un biombo de cristal.

-Detrás de la casa: es más alta que la calle:

En este caso es más fácil porque si el patio es más bajo, ahí se construye un muro para que pare la energía, pero ahí no se puede construir otra habitación, porque la energía de esa zona no circula.

-El suelo de la casa este más bajo que la calle:

En este caso la energía del suelo de la casa no circula bien con la energía de la calle, se llama energía yin chi o energía negativa. Este caso es muy difícil de cambiar, este tipo de casas es mejor para tiendas o locales de negocios pero no para viviendas. La gente que vive allí se pondrá enfermo y no tendrá descendencia, es muy difícil de corregir.
-Medidas de la puerta:

Si la medida de la puerta no es correcta mejor cambiarla, si no se puede cambiar corregimos la puerta, el ancho de 79 cm no es correcto, pero podríamos corregirla a más estrecha por ejemplo a 64 cm que es el ancho de iglesia, la distancia de 79 a 64 son 15 cm podremos corregir con marcos externos de 7´5 cm por cada lado para dejar un ancho de 64 cm el ancho de iglesia.

Altura de la puerta es buena la medida de 210 a 220 cm ,si tienes 202 viajaras mucho, poner madera hasta 193 cm, no es una medida muy buena para una casa solo regular pues es para iglesia, debería poner un listón de 9 ctm para reducir de 202 a 193 cm, pero estará mejor que a 202.

-Puerta de atrás: siempre más pequeña que la puerta principal (delantera)
Si se puede hacer una puerta nueva la medida recomendada será 90cm de ancho que el carpintero acabara en 85 cm a un buena pero de 85 a 75 peor, por eso si pedimos una puerta de 90 cm sale 85 más pequeña, pero con La altura con mucho cuidado porque puede hacerla no suficientemente alta. Si la puerta delantera 215 - 90 la trasera 213 a 210 - 85, La energía entra por la puerta principal y sale por la puerta trasera que deberá ser más pequeña para que no salga toda y se quede en casa.
-Si el Dragón este más alto (izq) la puerta debe de ser en la derecha Tigre (puerta trasera) porque la energía entra por la principal y debe de salir menos.
-Si el Tigre es más alto (dech) la puerta de atrás debe de estar en Dragón (izq), a si la energía circula mejor.

-Puertas de las habitaciones: Los marcos de las habitaciones son más delgados con lo que no hay tanta diferencia entre la medida pedida y el resultado final.
· Normalmente la anchura mejor para las habitaciones es 83 de ancho y 213 de alto.
· Dos puertas de habitaciones enfrentadas en un pasillo, si son del mismo tamaño y enfrentadas esta bien, si hay desplazamientos y no coinciden su enfrentamiento solo en parte estará mal, si no coinciden nada estará bien, lo peor es cuando coinciden partes.
· Puerta del servicio enfrentada a la puerta principal, esta combinación no es buena deberíamos cerrar el servicio y no usarlo, si es necesario entonces deberíamos echar sal abundantemente, si esta enfrentada la puerta principal con la del servicio, eso normalmente ocasiona conflictos, peleas, discusiones dentro de la casa.
· Cuando hay una alineación entre la puerta principal, habitaciones y puerta trasera, mal, la energía entra y sale como una flecha disparada. Corregir esto es muy fácil, colocar un biombo o mueble para tapar la puerta.

Later on I went to the apartments to see Aliya & Camilla, who surprised me with a slice of cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory. If our conversations about feng shui, astrology, shrines, and superstitions didn't seal the deal on our friendship, this one act of cheesecake giving certainly did. And then when they walked me back to my room we shared the cigar I brought them.

"Let's light this bad boy up!"

When I started reading Atop the Underwood Kerouac emphasizes "there's nothing like a good cigar" in the morning or something like that. Well it's not the morning, but it's a pleasant night and the cigar was good.
