O conflito entre o Barcelona e a AFA ainda não foi resolvido, todos os jogadores já se apresentaram, menos Messi. O clube caralão recebeu ontem a notificação da FIFA para liberar o jogador, no entanto Txiki Begiristain, secretario técnico do Braça, confirmou que o clube não cederá Messi.
No entanto surgiu uma nova determinação da entidade máxima do futebol dizendo que na terça-feira haverá uma reunião em Zurique da Comissão do Estatuto do Jogador para definir em definitivo o futuro do craque. Até terça a seleção segue sem um de seus melhores jogadores.

Cum ne-a obişnuit de câţiva ani buni,  EA GAMES lansează în fiecare an câte un nou episod din seria FIFA. A venit rândul la FIFA 2009. Producătorii ne promit cea mai buna "FIFĂ" din istorie. Desigur nu trebuie să ne entuziasmăm pentru că trebuie să îşi promoveze produsul.

Titlul precedent, FIFA 2008 a fost un joc puţin mai bun decât precedentul cu schimbari majore de gameplay şi grafică iar FIFA 2009 va trebui să aducă elemente noi care să facă jocul mai bun decât precedentul.

Dacă până acum căţiva ani FIFA nu avea rival pe piaţa simulatoarelor de fotbal acum EA GAMES se confruntă cu cei de la KONAMI care au reuşi să transforme jocul PES 2008 în cel mai realist joc de fotbal.

Ce ne promit cei de la EA SORTS ?

RAPIDITATE. Creşte viteza jocului, a paselor, a driblingurilor, a duelurilor fizice dintre jucători.

MIŞCARI NOI. Ne promit 50000 de combinaţii tactice. Bineînteles nu le vom număra şi astfel suntem nevoiţi să îi credem dar dacă va fi aşa se vor diversifica golurile, ocaziile de gol şi sper că la finalul unui meci jucat în FIFA 2009 să ne uităm cu plăcere la reluari. (aşa cum se întîmplă la PES 2008)

ANIMAŢII REALISTE. Creatorii se laudă cu animaţii noi, special create care dau jocului un aspect realist.

Concluzii: Dacă producătorii îşi respectă promisiunile ar putea ieşi un joc bun, dar desigur nu ne putem pronunţa macar până la apariţia variantei demo. Cert este ca FIFA 2009 are potenţial, merită aşteptat.

O Barcelona reluta em liberar o atleta e diz que vai brigar até a última instância, eles se consideram embasados pela Liga de Fútbol Profesional (LFP), que considera que não existe nenhuma obrigação jurídica para ceder os jogadores, com o argumento de que o torneio olímpico masculino de futebol não está dentro do calendário internacional da FIFA. Com isso os clubes não seriam obrigados a ceder os jogadores para defender as seleções nas olimpíadas.

A seleção albiceleste já chegou no Japão e aguarda a apresentação de Lionel Messi, Federico Fazio, Javier Mascherano e Lautaro Acosta. No dia 29 a seleção irá disputar um amistoso contra a seleção sub-23 do Japão, depois seguirá rumo a Shanghai. Agora resta aguardar e ver quem vai ganhar esta queda de braço, a seleção ou o poderoso Barcelona, muitos apostam na derrota do clube catalão.

Werder Bremen, dessen Spieler Diego nach einem Krisengespräch ohne Einwillung seines Arbeitgebers zum Treffpunkt der brasilianischen Olympia-Mannschaft abreiste, kündigte auf seiner offiziellen Website den Gang zum Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne an.

Mitteilung vom 22. Juli 2008 im Worlaut:

Die Geschäftsführung von Werder Bremen und Diego haben am Dienstagvormittag ihre Standpunkte bezüglich einer Olympiateilnahme des brasilianischen Nationalspielers ausgetauscht. In einem 90-minütigen Gespräch kamen beide Parteien nicht zu einer Einigung.

Als Folge dieses Gesprächs wird Werder Bremen den Internationalen Sportgerichtshof CAS anrufen und auf eine schnelle Klärung der Sachlage drängen. Sowohl Diego als auch die Geschäftsführung von Werder Bremen erklärten , sich dem Schiedsspruch dieser Instanz zu unterwerfen. Unterdessen reist Diego ohne die Zustimmung von Werder Bremen zum Treffpunkt der brasilianischen Olympia-Auswahl nach Paris.

Werder Bremen vertritt in Übereinstimmung mit der DFL und dem DFB nach wie vor die Auffassung, dass es keine Abstellungspflicht für Diego für das olympische Turnier gibt. Diego sieht sich dagegen in der Pflicht einer Einladung des brasilianischen Verbands Folge zu leisten. Er befürchtet im Falle eines Nichterscheinens am Treffpunkt der Olympia-Auswahl in Paris große Schwierigkeiten für seine weitere Nationalmannschaftskarriere.

Auch der Bundesligaverein FC Schalke 04 soll laut Medienberichten im Streit um eine Olympiateilnahme von Rafinha gegen das International Olympic Committee (IOC) und den brasilianischen Fußball-Verband (CBF) vor den CAS ziehen, um eine endgültige Klärung der Rechtlage zu erhalten. Rafinha war ebenfalls eigenmächtig zum Treffpunkt der Olympischen-Nationmalmannschaft abgereist.

Währenddessen hat FIFA-Präsident Joseph S. Blatter in einem Schreiben (Zirkular Nr. 1153) an alle FIFA-Mitglieder eine Abstellungspflicht der Vereine für Profi-Spieler unter 23 Jahren bekräftigt.

Nun hat sich der oberste FIFA-Boss, Sepp Blatter, zur Thematik zu Wort gemeldet:

"Gemäß Art. 1 Abs. 2 von Anhang 1 des Reglements bezüglich Status und Transfer von Spielern ist die Abstellung von Spielern für internationale Spiele zwingend, die an im koordinierten internationalen Spielkalender vermerkten Daten stattfinden", meint Blatter in einer Stellungnahme am heutigen Mittwoch, um dann gleich folgendes hinterher zu schicken: "Das Olympische Fußballturnier der Männer Peking 2008 figuriert jedoch mit Absicht nicht im koordinierten internationalen Spielkalender, da das Turnier nicht in das Schema des genannten Kalenders passt. Aufgrund seines einzigartigen Charakters erfuhr das Olympische Fußballturnier der Männer bewusst eine Sonderbehandlung. Das heißt aber nicht, dass die betreffenden Klubs keine Abstellpflicht trifft."

Abstellungspflicht also nur bei im internationalen Spielkalender vermerkten Spielen, wovon die Olympischen laut Blatter keine sind, dennoch müssen die Vereine Spieler abstellen! Alles klar, lieber Sepp...

En boca del mito hecho carne, del fútbol en estado puro, de Don Alfredo Di Stéfano, la palabra contrato tiene una óptica diáfana. La Saeta, entrañable, venerable y viejo pozo de sabiduría, siempre apela, en estas cuestiones, a una frase con una carga de profundidad  que deja en parihuelas a futbolistas pseudoprofesionales como Robinho. Para Don Alfredo, "Los contratos están para cumplirlos. Lo que yo firmo con el brazo, luego no lo borro con el codo". Un aforismo que retrata, en su viva imagen, el sangrante caso de ese ‘esclavo moderno' - según definición de Pepe Blatter- llamado Cristiano Ronaldo. Sin embargo, no parece necesario poner el punto de mira en un futurible del Real Madrid, ya que el caso más cercano lo tiene el Real en casa. Y ese caso tiene nombre propio: Robinho. El brasileño llegó en su día como sucesor de Pelé, y esa etiqueta extendió cheques que su fútbol aún no ha podido pagar. Es comprensible que no se sienta cómodo si la prensa le señala como moneda de cambio de Cristiano Ronaldo, porque a Robinho le ha tocado bailar en el mercado con la más fea (futbolísticamente, se entiende). Sin embargo, el agente del brasileño, Vagner Ribeiro, no ha perdido el tiempo en los despachos. De Ronaldo se decía que corría más en la báscula que en el campo. De su compatriota Robinho se infiere que ha esprintado en su cuenta corriente, pero ha rozado el trote cochinero sobre el Bernabéu. De calidad innegable, Robinho ha sido víctima de una irregularidad notoria donde el término medio siempre brilló por su ausencia. O se daba una fiesta sobre el césped, o se daba una fiesta en una discoteca brasileña (camisinhas aparte).

En algún lugar de la memoria guardo, como oro en paño, el membrete de los contratos profesionales que el mítico equipo "Zor" ofrecía a sus ciclistas. Rezaba así: ‘Firme aquí si se compromete a ser una buena persona y un profesional intachable. Si usted cumple con su parte, nosotros nos comprometemos a hacer de usted un gran ciclista'. Aquellos contratos, bajo la supervisión del genial director Mínguez, infundían gran respeto en el pelotón ciclista, donde se consideraba un honor el hecho de formar parte de aquella escuadra con un lema tan épico como vital. A día de hoy, Cristiano Ronaldo, Robinho y sus inevitables agentes y tratantes de ganado, se pasarían por el forro de sus caprichos aquella filosofía deportiva. Viven mejor de lo que merecen, juegan menos de lo que cobran y exprimen a capricho a sus clubes. Borran con el codo lo que firmaron con el brazo, se jactan de su dinero alardeando de una vida desordenada y, puntualmente, cuentan con el apoyo del bon vivant Blatter, un relojero suizo que hoy ejerce de mandamás - mandamal mejor dicho- de la FIFA. Ni Joseph podría llegar a más, ni la FIFA podría llegar a menos. Con la aquiescencia de Pepe Blatter, esta tribu ingente, este pelotón de "esclavos modernos" encabezado coyunturalmente por Cristianos y Robinhos, se mueve a su antojo.

It’s two years to the start of the epoch making event and no one is absolutely certain if the FIFA world cup theme-song will be playing at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg or any other stadia in south-Africa. The xenophobic attacks on a large pan-African population in several of South-Africa’s urban settlements a few months back left a sour taste on the taste buds of several Africans leaving them wondering what happened to the solidarity marches the rest of Africa held in support of the ANC and tears of joy we shed when south Africa won the bid less than two decades after the demise of apartheid. A sports commentator in south Africa  recently wondered the fate of several sports tourists who would be in the country for a period of thirty days when fellow African brothers aren’t guaranteed of their safety. Worse still is Johannesburg’s high crime statistics; recent reports place Johannesburg in the A-list of crime nations, you are five most likely to be robbed, mugged or raped on the city’s streets than New York. These negative observations conceivably gave rise to rumors last year that the venue could be moved from Africa fanned spectacularly by German football great Franz Beckenbauer. south Africa’s deputy finance minister Jabu Moleketi had responded vehemently saying the critics had targeted the event to reflect their persistent negativity towards South Africa. Without doubt it is the former yet despite the derision of the media, fed by the clubs, there is some point to the idea behind quotas, albeit the methodology of achieving those aims is awry. Blatter’s intention is to create a strong international game; arguably, he already has it. However, there are exceptions to this rule and one of them in particular, England, is also the richest league in the world.

To have the English fail to qualify for Euro2008 was neither good for the game as a whole nor was it bad. One nation’s travesty is a benefit for another; Russia served notice that under Guus Hiddink’s leadership that they are not to be taken lightly, providing a delightful aspect to the competition. That they were eventually undone by the uncrowned Champions is no shame. They had recovered from a thrashing in their first match to reach the semi-finals, dismantling one of the tournament favourites en route.

That the English failure to qualify forced the Football Association to bring into existence a National Training Centre, situated in Burton-on-Trent, is further benefit to the game as a whole. It is shameful that they had not done so sooner. Any initiative that brings a standardisation to coaching for the elite of the game of any age should be applauded.

However, the idea of quotas is an anathema to any European governement which is a member of the European Union. To the bureaucrats of Brussels, everything is about levelling playing fields without barriers to its citizens. The only way for football to address the imbalance at a national level is to ensure that there is sufficient technical quality amongst natives.

One example of this is John Bostock. Aged sixteen, Crystal Palace valued him at £5m. It is ludicrous to believe that his true worth was anywhere near that yet Simon Jordan, The Eagles owner, used emotive language in describing the players valuation at £1.25m by a tribunal. Jordan has a vested interest, a desire to do the best for his club yet he epitomises all that is wrong in the transfer system. Had the deal not been struck by the tribunal, another player would have been lost to the lower divisions through the excesses of money that are believed to permeate the upper echelons of the English game.

There is merit in the argument that Bostock would have been better served by playing regularly for Palace but that is based on the assumption that he will be dumped into Spurs reserves. Perhaps he will be used in the same manner that Theo Walcott is at Arsenal, benefitting from a mix of substitute and starting appearances at Arsenal.

Whatever the case, transfer fees have to be regulated; this is the biggest cause of consternation at larger clubs. Some sense needs to come into the system otherwise indigenous talent is lost through greed. Yet protection of the lower league clubs is also needed, a balance must be struck. Simon Jordan observed that there is little incentive for clubs such as his own to nurture talent if they are not going to be suitably rewarded. As a businessman, he will recognise the paucity of his argument. If football clubs only survive because of transfer fees, something fundamental is wrong with their financial model.

Seeking talent is to be eulogised yet seeking reward as their only solace through this opportunity is folly. Finding a talented youngster is the equivalent of finding a needle in a haystack; many average players must pass through the doors for the ‘chosen ones’ to be found. If a club’s future is dependent upon this result, something is rotten in the state of Denmark and owners must look to their own weaknesses for a longer term solution.

EA are one of the big publishers who are confirmed to be at M Festival. They currently have a list of games that will be appearing on the show floor on the event's website. What they've got is mostly console stuff but there's some PC stuff too. So, here goes EA's list.

Prin infiintarea unui birou regional Electronic Arts se spera ca piata va fi incurajata sa creasca, devenint mult mai profitabila pentru producatorii de jocuri. Acest lucru va insemna si ca efortul depus de Electronic Arts va creste, efortul de a imbunatati experienta de joc pentru gamerii din regiunea noastra prin inmultirea versiunilor localizate si eventual prin organizarea unui eveniment local destinat jocurilor.

Since the formation of the National Sports Council a significant amount of time was spent on resolving the FAM issue.  At its inception the NSC workload was 80% FAM, 20% other sports.  A lot of hard and sincere work was done by NSC members to resolve the FAM issue and give FAM members full membership rights and to make it a democratic sports body.  According to the Decree creating the NSC all sports funding was to be channelled through the NSC. As such, it was deemed right to have a NSC representative in each association.

Everything changed when FIFA took control of the FAM by appointing an interim committee.  The committee concluded its purpose last night after FAM elections. However, questions remain about the legality of the committee both under  Maldives’ Association Act and FIFA Statuettes.  An issue that is being taken up strongly by the anti-11 member voting  group.  This intervention has not only changed  FAM, but it has also changed national sports administration in the country.  After the creation of the interim committee and several months into the FAM statuette revision process, NSC announced that they will have no representation in national sports associations.  I attribute this sudden change in NSC policy to the FAM interim committees inability  to convince FIFA/AFC to allow council representation in FAM. If  FAM can’t have council representation than why should other associations?  The creation of autonomous sports bodies maybe one good outcome of this whole process. But, the general  feeling is that even after full elections, only people with influence, money and political backing of the current government has come into these associations.  There may be some truth in this, but the simple fact is that the number of good sports administrators are very limited, and not many new people stepped up to make use of this great opportunity and members went with experience.

This brings me to the issue of  money, power and political influence in sports, especially in football. FIFA/AFC were vehement in their efforts to  bring complete independence to FAM.  But a little survey of a number of football associations in this region shows that  they are far from free of such influences.   The Sri Lankan FA has a sports ministry representative in its executive committee, Mr. N.K. Abeysinghe.  Malaysia FA has an invited member, Dato’ Zolkpless Embong as a National Sports Council Representative.  A number of elected top officials of Asian and Middle East FAs are politicians or have such affiliations. President of Singapore FA Associate Professor Ho Peng Kee is Senior Minister of State for Law & Home Affairs and a member of parliament.  The Indian FA President, Priya Ranjan Dasmuni,  is a Youth Congress Leader and  a member of parliament and Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs.  Pakistan FA President, Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat is Federal Minister for Environment.

So why this FIFA/AFC  insistence on full independence for FAM?  Maybe they see this as an experiment in governance, creating a football governing structure in South Asia similar to the ones in Europe.  Maybe, the National Sports Council  or the government did not have the leverage power wielded by some of our neighbours.  The question is out there.

However, FIFA/AFC  intervention  to create a fully democratic FAM will be forever tainted by the disenfranchisement of a majority of FAMs members.  Speaking after the FAM election, AFC  General Secretary Dato Paul Mani said that the number of members with voting rights was decided by FIFA and AFC and it is the best thing for Maldives at this stage and cited the example of Yemen.  True, the Division 1 clubs have done a lot to develop Maldives soccer,  but to deny voting rights to a majority of FAM members because they might take away the decisive power of Division 1 clubs is a very short sighted view. One which has devalued this important milestone in the development  of sports in the country.  In my opinion the issue is not about 1 member 1 vote ( democratically that is the best way to go),  but some form of representation for all members of the FAM.

Isn’t it heartening to know that the most powerful sports body in the world  is looking out for one of its smallest member, with generous hearts?  How much will FAM benefit from their benevolence? FAM like other sports associations in the country will continue to be financed by the Government ( through the NSC).  Will the NSC continue to fund all FAM activities despite it acquiring  the status of a   supra-national , extra-legal sports body? Will it just accept everything that has happened because it was done under FIFA/AFC hegemony? For long , developing countries such as the Maldives, have had to bow down to the demands of large multilateral agencies such as the World Bank and IMF,  accepting their austerity measures, despite innumerable social and cultural deprivations for its people.  The FIFA/AFC  intervention in the restructure of FAM brings another dimension to this control.

Will FAM continue to get the five star treatment from the NSC (government) because soccer is the "biggest" sports in the country and has the largest membership? Can you justify that it has the most number of members, when the most important decisions in its history has been taken by just a handful of its members.

Uno de los juegos que siempre busco es Sensible Soccer, en cualquiera de sus versiones. En este juego me podía pasar horas de horas aunque los gráficos no tenían punto de comparación con la versión contemporánea de de FIFA  y que decir con la actual versión.  Sin embargo la historia del juego quizás es mucho mas interesante que cualquier juego FIFA o Winning que haya existido ya que permitía dirigir un club de football de cualquier país del mundo, comprar y vender jugadores y hacer toda una carrera de entrenador cambiándose de club según las ofertas a final de cada temporada.

Esta competição está a ser transmitida na RTP, mas podem ver todos os jogos em directo na EuroSport 2.
