Với giao diện đồ họa, chương trình miển phí FileZilla 3.1 cho ta truyền tải dữ liệu từ Client đến Server hoặc từ Server về Client 1 cách nhanh chóng, ta có thể tạo các Site để lưu lại các thông tin kết nối như địa chỉ Server, Username, Passowrd… để sử dụng sau này.

Cách Upload/Download dữ liệu : ví dụ Upload dử liệu Wordpress vào WebHost prohosting.com

• Mở FileZilla
• Nhấn File > Site Manager…

• Nhấn New Site, đặt tên cho Site tùy ý, ví dụ : ProHosting
• Phần General, nhập :
  • Host : ví dụ abc.white.prohosting.com với abc là tên của User (username)
  • Port : 21
  • Logontype : Normal
  • User : ví dụ abc với abc là tên của User
  • Password : nhập Password
• Nhấn Connect bắt đầu kết nối

• Khi kết nối thành công, cửa sổ bên phải sẽ hiện dữ liệu và thư mục trên Server (ProHosting)
• Kéo dữ liệu từ bên Client đưa vào Server
• Chở Upload xong, nhấn Ctrl + D hoặc Server > Disconnect để ngắt kết nối

Ghi chú : phần địa chỉ Host, Username và Password. Sau khi đăng ký 1 Acccount tại prohosting.com thì ta sẽ có các thông tin trên, địa chỉ của prohosting thường là username.white.prohosting.com (có thêm phần .white ở sau Username)

Da utente linux, ben pochi sono stati i programmi dei quali non ho potuto fare a meno. Uno di questi è sicuramente FlashFXP, un programma per la gestione di protocolli FTP, che secondo me non ha in assoluto rivali. Pur avendo provato programmi come Filezilla o gFTP, FlashFXP secondo me rimane in assoluto il migliore. Questo programma pur funzionando con wine, da molti problemi (come ad esempio il bloccarsi su certi ftp). Non tutti sanno però che è disponibile il programma in questione per Linux Ubuntu.

This is a far cry from Apple where when iTunes has an update available I have to search the web and hope someone has posted the changes in a forum somewhere. When I do then download the latest version it attempts to push Safari and Quicktime on me in the process.

Bem pessoal, com a compra do domínio precisei de um bom cliente ftp para transferência de meus projetos para o host fazendo várias buscas e instalando diversos clientes ftp, encontrei o FileZilla, um cliente ftp bastante estável, e intuitivo.

A forma com que as informações foram dispostas no programa foi umas das coisas que me fizeram escolher este software para trabalhar, recomendo a todos que necessitem de algo simples e ao mesmo tempo de confiança. Para instalar digite:

$sudo apt-get install filezilla

e para traduzir-lo para português digite:

$sudo apt-get install filezilla-locales

To be good, you should write in Notepad or a simple writing application. To be efficient, you should use something a little more intuitive.

Listed are programs I recommend downloading:

1. Aptana Studio [http://www.aptana.com/]
   A bit bulky, this free editor (Mac & PC) allows you a multitude of ways to keep your file structure compatible with your server area. Easy to synchronize both file structures within your computer and server. There are a lot of options and I think it might be best for separate posts just for using this thing (but there's also the help section within the program itself).
2. TopStyle Pro [site]
   This PC program is not free, but it is a favorite of mine. It is not huge and has all the features one needs to edit and implement. I do not synchronize TopStyle with FTP, rather I upload using an FTP program.
3. TextMate [site]
   This is a Mac program and is not free. It is a favorite amongst my Mac friends.

If you are working with a program that does not have ftp built into it, you will need to use a separate program for this task.

What is FTP?

FTP stands for 'File Transfer Protocol'. It is the way in which one goes about sending information to and from ones computer to the server, vice verse. There are a few other protocols, one being sFTP, which is a "secure file transfer protocol" and is good practice to use.

FTP Program listings (shortened);

1. Filezilla [site]
   This free FTP program for PC is best in my opinion. I was using SmartFTP which is great but is no longer free. I do give money to Filezilla as they ask for donations.
2. CyberDuck [site]
   One of the only free Mac FTP programs that I know of and am familiar with. It gets the job done although not as intuitively as the ones available for PC users.

If the editor you use does not have an FTP setup, all one has to do is drag and drop files from your computer into your FTP program. It's as simple as that.

a) Filezilla funziona benissimo anche con sftp: basta non fare la connessione veloce (come ho sempre fatto), ma creare una nuova entry nel Gestore Siti. In barba a quanto affermato dal tool di sviluppo che sostiene che il riconoscimento del tipo di connessione sia automatico;

b) Filezilla è nell'ordine di una decina di volte più veloce di SmartFTP, client che ho usato la prima volta per caricare wordpress sullo spazio di test, ma SmartFTP si collega subito senza storie grazie alle pre-impostazioni;

c) ho scoperto che mi piace questa canzone:

Con FileZilla es posible interrumpir la descarga o la subida de un fichero y posteriormente reanudarla, siempre y cuando el servidor FTP donde está alojado el archivo lo soporte.

La conexión con el servidor FTP nunca se cerrará gracias al sistema Keep Alive y a la detección de TimeOut. Por otro lado, la cola de descargas y subidas permite transferir ficheros de forma desatendida.

Además, FileZilla permite realizar las típicas actividades de administración de cuentas, listado de sitios comunes, arrastrar y soltar archivos directamente al FTP, etcétera. También soporta conexiones SSL y SFTP.
