Let's see why… having a partner can be so amazing! Just think of all the things that you do when you have a guy (or a gal)…

You can talk incessantly with your partner… how your day has been, what you did, what you said to your best friend, how you bitched about that 'bitch', what time you woke up, what 'mummy' made for lunch… *yawns* …'can you like please stop?'

Or you can tell your partner 1440 times in a day how much you love him/her (that's the no. of mins in a day, by the way)

Or you can tell your friends that you already have plans for the day… which turns out to be going for a movie with your partner… no, no…that's nothing to debate about. Even if you've just spent 8 hours with your partner in the college already. And when your friend cries and threatens your friendship, if you don't go out with her that very minute… you agree instantly… and then friend, committed friend and committed friend's partner go on a 'sort of dates'.

What the hell am I driving at? Only this… of all the lovely couples I know, not one has a sense of individuality!

For instance, You just missed your train… what the heck do you do? Check on the next train and get tickets?... heck, no! call your boyfriend… 'Honey! I just missed my train… sniff…what should I do?'

'Sweety, find out about the next one & get on it.'

And then you check up and get onto the next train

Or… you have to fill in a form and choose between 2 subjects…and you don't know what to choose… simple… (you guessed it!)… 'Honey, should I take up subject A or B?'

Here, the situation is not akin to the train problem. Our dear 'Honey' isnt even in our stream and to him both A & B are like Martians…aliens I mean.

(oh, his reply was somewhere around, we'll check up the syllabus & decide)

Or… 'I have to go to college and give a presentation'… 'Sweety , I love you so much… I'll be a nut and sit through your presentation'… (even though I have office (do you now?))

I really am not questioning (or mocking) anyone's love or their relationships. What I'm trying to find out is… is it required on one's part to lose your complete sense as a person simply because you want to be dedicated to someone? How dependent can you grow (& be proud of it) on another? To the extent where what your partner says is the ultimate truth?

I do not see this as the perfect couple. Ideal love is not this way, when I see it. To be in a relationship… means reveling in each others company, seeking comfort in each others arms… but not at the cost of wiping out your own self from it. Forget that, hell! It doesn't mean you have to act dumb and pretend you cant think on you own!

Being emotionally involved is one thing, but to have your brains sucked out like that! If you still go onto glorify such a relationship… I'm all for being single!

First onto the title..     

Cigarettes are certainly not my kind of thing. So the inclusion of this word in the title is merely for the purpose of setting the ambience of this piece of writing. Certainly coffee is to my taste, and over the course of time, during which all these ramblings have been accumulated, coffee was a constant factor on the table. This writing doesn't cater to the need of granting truth, much less knowledge. It is purely for the sake of penning it down that I'm doing this, and in your case, solely the reason that at some point of time, you've managed to stumble across this piece and I've managed to capture your interest thus far that you continue to read this.

How my mind first conceived all this…

It was a simple task really. Boredom & the need for socializing led to some out of the classroom hanging out, with a few faithful. Faithful because any gossip (to the extent of being nasty) did not find its way back to the person around whom the gossip revolved. Sometimes the feelings were mutual, and I could literally see the fires flaming high. Sometimes it was just my mouth blabbering and a silent listener taking it all. Either way, it got things through my ears, into my head and out of my mouth. What is indeed challenging in the entire sequence of events are "names". It was always a matter of contention, to take names and talk. Of course in the absence of names, things could be said without any reservations at all but then there was no fun (and yeah, fun at the stake of twisting and mutilating the truth for the sake of amusement and entertainment!).

I know, its wrong, detestable, perhaps outrageous too, to speak ill of others. But let me clear this up. What I voice out is an analysis conducted solely on the basis of an observation of a person. I dissect severely, no denying that, right to the minutest level of detail and talk/ruminate over it. But at no point do I judge people. In fact, I'm not judgmental about people. What they do, say, think is entirely their occupation and none of my concern, but yes, certainly a matter of notice and talk.

And for the last time…

…will I justify the use of the word 'cigarettes'. Just the way, it ends up in smoke and ash, so do most of such ramblings, but I do recognize the potential harm such talks can cause..injury…fatal injury…and yes, I'm aware of it all the while!!

US actor and director Sean Penn lit up and led a minor revolt at the Cannes film festival against France's draconian new anti-smoking laws.

Penn, the head of the jury that will pick the best films, pulled out a cigarette and puffed on it at a press conference with fellow jury members, in defiance of laws in place since January that ban smoking in public enclosed spaces.

He only took a couple of drags before putting it aside and getting back to answering reporters' questions.

But jury member Marjane Satrapi, an Iranian director clearly inspired by her colleague's defiance, then asked to much laughter if anyone minded if she smoked "for medical reasons."

She then lit a cigarette, with Penn and French actress Jeanne Balibar quickly following suit.

I thought she was practicing celibacy or just didn't have a boyfriend until I found out that she is a lesbian.

I had no clue. So, she's gay. Fine.

But, now she's single. Which is strange to me because it was just a few months ago that I found out she's gay and now she's breaking up with her girlfriend of 14 years, which just messes up my whole time line.

For those of you who didn't know she's gay. Hey, she's gay! Yeah! She lives her life her way!

Hollywood star Jodie Foster has ended her 14-year lesbian relationship with film producer Cydney Bernard.

The split comes just four months after Miss Foster broke her silence about the relationship, which was long an open secret in movie circles.

I do. I have to go to work,  and work with a bunch of stupid people. I mean these people are the cream of the crop stupid, and to top it all off before I had this ability to tune it out and just go in there, do a liitle something to make it look good and go home. Then two weeks would pass by and I would get paid for putting in minimal effort, and life was tolerable at work. Now however it is much much different. Now I walk into work and I have to keep my hands in my pocket to make sure that I don't rip someone's face off. Everything about my job is annoying and its to the point where I lay in bed thinking if I don't show up will they fire me ? So what happens is I get an extra minute or two of sleep and in the end get my ass out of bed and into work. UGGH !!!!

Now what has kept me going despite the crap and everything else that comes along with working a shitty job is that I have one more freaken day. I have to work 6am -2pm , and then I am off until the 27th . So pray for me and all the fruits I work with that I get through tomorrow and all will be good.  

With reserve keeper Derek Soutar to leave Pittodrie at the end of the season, Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood has been searching for a back-up for first-choice Jamie Langfield.

Yesterday, Britney rear-ended a red Ford Explorer on Sunset Blvd. driven by a woman. According to TMZ,  Miss Spears didn't even get out of the car to talk to the woman...her bodygaurd did, and then the woman in the red Explorer followed Britney back to her home.

Minor damage was done in the accident, but how it happened, was that Britney had stopped at a light and then accelerated when that light was still red, hitting the vehile in front of her (the red Ford Explorer). Why she did that, no one is sure.

I am absolutely amazed that Britney is still even driving. Why is she still on the road? I am just thankful I don't live or drive any where near her!

Oprah Winfrey asked ABC officials not to renew "Oprah's Big Give," her philanthropic reality show that had been a modest hit on Sunday nights.

"We loved that show and absolutely would have loved to bring it back," ABC entertainment president Steve McPherson said yesterday . "But it was something [Oprah] didn't want to do."

On "Big Give," a diverse group of 10 people criss-crossed the country scrambling to find ways to boost the fates and fortunes of unsuspecting, deserving people.

Each week the least effective giver was sent home.

The series grew out of a "Pass It On" episode Oprah did on her afternoon talk show when she gave each audience member a $1,000 and a video camera with instructions to give away the money to someone deserving and to record it for a follow-up show that aired several weeks later.

"The Big Give" was Oprah's first regular foray into primetime and, while she is the most watched - and wealthiest - daytime TV personality, she has yet to crack prime-time TV with a hit series.

Well isnt that something? You can become the true queen of all media, but the world will still find a way to say "she has yet to crack prime-time TV with a hit series".

Give me a break. Let Oprah go on to become the next Pope, the first black female President of the United States and the entire continents of Africa and Asia, Black Superwoman, She-Hulk and Spiderwoman all while walking, talking and chewing bubble gum while driving two cars at the same time and saving the earth while refreezing glaciers.

Duh! She's got more important things to do than worry about if "she has yet to crack prime-time TV with a hit series". Of course, I liked the "pay it forward" aspect of her show. Maybe someone will have a show with a similar theme.

It's no wonder that managers claim that players are "unsettled" these days. It must be hard to concentrate on preparing properly for next season with your name being banded about in the papers every day... let alone concentrate on having a relaxing holiday.

Football fans do care about what's happening to their team. But, personally, I'd like at least a month off. As a Blackpool fan its been a long, hard, expensive season. But we survived, and I'd like a few weeks to reflect on that and enjoy it.

I have to hand it Page Six. They really know how to stay on the cutting edge of boringbreaking celebrity news.  Why are they still talking about Barbara Walter's affair?  Didn't that story break ages ago?    The admission of an affair was interesting for about 5 seconds.  But does anyone really care that Barbara Walters dated Alan Greenspan and Alan Greenberg?  And why is Christie Brinkley weighing in?  She's made some banner romantic choices in her life, who is she to judge?  And what is the photo about?  I for one would not be pleased if someone posted a picture of my face that close up.

And what about the conservative moron calling her a "media whore"?  Umm...Ann Coulter anyone?  Barbara Walters isn't exactly the poster child, of what conservatives view as, the liberal media.  Can one truly draw a comparison between Barbara Walters and Paris Hilton?  I'm thinking conservatives are opportunistic and will take a swipe at a woman who has broken more than one ceiling in her lifetime.  I'm also thinking that if it were Walter Cronkite admitting to affairs and to dating two women at once, conservatives wouldn't care so much.  Just sayin...
