<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>La sensibilité aux thèmes environnementaux progressant, les voitures "vertes" se vendent de mieux en mieux, tandis que les grosses cylindrées et les 4*4 de loisir <a href="http://www.canada.com/edmontonjournal/news/story.html?id=ae6d4b0e-a898-4eb0-9682-ed511e180a62">s'écoulent plus difficilement</a>. Cette évolution est encore <a href="http://ecologie.caradisiac.com/Jean-Louis-Borloo-Bonus-malus-ecologique-un-premier-bilan-positif-mais-380">accélérée </a>par les mesures de type bonus/malus, comme celle qui a été adoptée en France en 2007.</p>
<p>Jusqu'ici l'offre automobile ajoute à un modèle classique, souvent banal, des caractéristiques techniques destinées à le "verdir".</p>
<p>La <a href="http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Prius">Prius</a>, par exemple - due à Toyota, qui a su s'inscrire dans une tendance "développement durable" dès 1997 - ne doit pas son succès à une ligne révolutionnaire.</p>

<p>Maintenant qu'un marché semble durablement créé pour des voitures aux caractéristiques environnementales fortes, de nombreux nouveaux modèles vont émerger et la créativité des constructeurs sera plus forte.</p>
<p>En Inde, par exemple, la société <a href="http://www.revaindia.com/index.htm">Reva </a>propose une petite voiture électrique, aux caractéristiques encore proches d'une voiturette : autonomie de 80 kilomètres, vitesse maximum de 80 Km/h. Un modèle deux places est annoncé avec une autonomie de 200 kilomètres et une vitesse maximum de 120 km/h.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Un constructeur indien, le groupe Tata, a su <a href="http://www.tatamotors.com/our_world/press_releases.php?ID=281&#38;action=Pull">repérer </a>les technologies de Guy Nègre, ingénieur français, et de sa société <a href="http://www.mdi.lu/fra/affiche_fra.php?page=accueil">MDI</a>. Il propose un véhicule à air comprimé, sans aucun rejet de CO2 (cf. <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVIwropRMME&#38;feature=related">vidéo</a>). La <a href="http://www.mdi.lu/fra/affiche_fra.php?page=minicats">MiniCats </a>offre 3 places et son autonomie annoncée est de 80 kms avec une vitesse maximale de 110 km/h. Une version hybride permet d'accroître l'autonomie du véhicule avec une très faible consommation d'essence (inférieure à 2l aux 100 kms). Sur le plan commercial et marketing, en tout cas si l'on peut en juger par la simple présence sur internet, Guy Nègre a encore du travail puisqu'une requête "MDI Guy Nègre" sur Google renvoie sur <a href="http://www.theaircar.com/who-we-are/air-car-phylosophy.html">le site d'un concurrent</a> et ancien collaborateur...</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Le projet "<a href="http://www.betterplace.com/">better place</a>" prend acte des caractéristiques encore limitées des voitures électriques pour lancer un modèle - en partenariat avec Renault - sur le marché israélien. En Israël, 90% des conducteurs font moins de 70 kms par jour, et tous les centres urbains sont distants de moins de 150 kms. Ces caractéristiques font du pays un bon terrain de test pour la généralisation des voitures électriques. L'innovation technologique s'accompagne ici d'un modèle économique astucieux. Prenant acte du fait que la batterie est l'élément clé des modèles électriques, <em>Better Place</em> entend développer un réseau de stations de recharge qui permettra aussi de repartir immédiatement sans attendre grâce à un simple échange de batterie. Les premières voitures devraient rouler en utilisation normale en 2011, en Israël et au Danemark.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;"><a href="http://www.teslamotors.com/">Tesla Motors</a>, aux Etats-Unis, propose un roadster électrique aux caractéristiques impressionnantes : vitesse maximale de 200 km/h, autonomie de 350 kms, une accélération de 0 à 100 km/h en 4 secondes, le tout pour un temps de recharge électrique de 3 heures 30, sur une prise électrique courante. La voiture est offerte à la réservation pour l'Europe, livrable en 2009, à 100 000 € HT...</p>

En Californie, il est enregistré dans la catégorie des motos mais le constructeur revendique une solidité de construction digne d'une automobile. La version tout-électrique (il existe une version hybride), offre une autonomie de 193 kms, une vitesse maximale de 130 km/h et une accélération de 0 à 100 km/h en moins de dix secondes.</p>

Das Auto dürfte wohl ein Traum für jeden vom Spritpreis genervten Autofahrer sein, denn die Kosten für </span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial;">100 Kilometer</span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial;"> belaufen sich gerade einmal auf 1,50 Euro! Ab 2009 soll das Luftdruck-Auto in Frankreich über die Straßen rollen.</span></p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://allgoodblog.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/air-car1.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-43" src="http://allgoodblog.wordpress.com/files/2008/07/air-car1.jpg?w=300" alt="" width="300" height="201" /></a>I received an e-mail (which I think was being widely circulated) a few months back about the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_vehicle">Compressed Air Car</a> developed by Motor Development International (MDI) founder Guy Negre.  While I'm a sucker for fly whips as much as the next man, I've recently started to shift my opinion about the need for a "big ass truck".  I'd rather have the Earth stick around for a minute...this place is mad fun.  Also, since I paid $90 to fill up my tank the other day, these joints are very enticing.  I think that silver mini-van joint could be real fly.  Put a system in that mug...fresh.  I will be getting one of these, although hopefully they'll increase it's max speed a bit first...</p>
<p>Here's some more info from that original e-mail:  The $12,700 CityCat, one of the planned Air Car models, can hit 68mph and has a range of 125 miles.  It will only take a few minutes for the CityCat to re-fuel at a gas station equipped with custom air compressor units.   MDI says it should only cost about $2 to fill the car up with 340 liters of air.</p>

<p>There are a few sources I saw on the Net who claimed the Air Car will be available in the US by 2010.  I hope it's sooner than that, but better late than never.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">La macchina che va ad aria è realtà.<br />
Risale a poco tempo fa la notizia che il colosso <strong>Tata Motors </strong>prevede di iniziare a vendere la <strong>CityCAT</strong>, ideata dal francese <strong>Guy Negre</strong>, in India entro la fine di quest’anno.<br />
L'auto, a cinque posti, ha una struttura in fibra di vetro alimentata da aria compressa. Ha un peso di soli 350 kg e dovrebbe costare all'incirca l'equivalente di 8000 euro.<br />
<strong>Il serbatoio, può essere riempito con aria da un compressore in soli tre minuti</strong>, più rapidamente della maggior parte delle batterie elettriche. In alternativa, l’auto può essere collegata alla rete elettrica per 4 ore. Per i lunghi viaggi CityCAT<em><em> </em></em>possiede un bruciatore a combustibile che serve a riscaldare l’aria, facendo in modo che questa si espanda e aumenti la pressione sui pistoni. Il bruciatore è fatto in modo tale da poter utilizzare tutti i tipi di combustibile liquido. <strong>Un pieno di 340 litri di aria compressa costerà € 1,30 e consentirà all'automobile un'autonomia di 190 km con una velocità massima di 100 km/h, naturalmente ad emissioni zero</strong>.<br />
Non ci sono marce, sostituite da un computer. Semplice com'è, richiede manutenzione praticamente zero e un cambio d'olio ogni 50 mila chilometri.<br />
La casa produttrice indiana stima che saranno prodotte almeno 6000 auto ad aria compressa entro la fine di quest'anno, e, a quanto pare, Negre ha firmato numerosi contratti ed il suo progetto sarà realizzato in 12 paesi fra cui Germania, Israele e Sud Africa.<br />
Ricapitolando, esiste una macchina che non consuma una mazza, dà pochi problemi e non inquina. Niente male, direte voi, ma c'è, fra i tanti pro, anche un non trascurabile contro: l'auto è poco remunerativa per i petrolieri, quindi non montiamoci troppo la testa.<br />
L'Italia, per chi non lo sapesse, è la nazione dalla massima concentrazione di automobili al mondo.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Eolo, la vettura che avrebbe fatto a meno della benzina è stata fatta sparire. Perché? VIVAMO IN UN MONDO DOVE CI VOGLIONO FAR CREDERE CHE IL PETROLIO E' IMPORTANTE QUANTO L'ACQUA QUESTA DEVE DAVVERO FARE IL GIRO DEL MONDO!</p>
<p>Guy Negre, ingegnere progettista di motori per Formula 1, che ha lavorato alla Williams per diversi anni, nel 2001 presentava al Motorshow di Bologna una macchina rivoluzionaria: la "Eolo" (questo il nome originario dato al modello), era una vettura con motore ad aria compressa, costruita interamente in alluminio tubolare,fibra di canapa e resina, leggerissima ed ultraresistente.Capace di fare 100 Km con 0,77 euro, poteva raggiungere una velocità di110 Km/h e funzionare per più di 10 ore consecutive nell'uso urbano.Allo scarico usciva solo aria, ad una temperatura di circa -20°, che veniva utilizzata d'estate per l'impianto di condizionamento.Collegando Eolo ad una normale presa di corrente, nel giro di circa 6 ore ilcompressore presente all'interno dell'auto riempiva le bombole di aria compressa, che veniva utilizzata poi per il suo funzionamento.Non essendoci camera di scoppio né sollecitazioni termiche o meccaniche lamanutenzione era praticamente nulla, paragonabile a quella di una bicicletta.Il prezzo al pubblico doveva essere di circa 18 milioni delle vecchie lire, nel suoallestimento più semplice. Qualcuno l'ha mai vista in Tv? Al Motorshow fece un grande scalpore, tanto che il sito www.eoloauto.it venne subissato di richieste di prenotazione: chi vi scrive fu uno dei tanti a mettersi in lista d'attesa, lo stabilimento era in costruzione, la produzione doveva partire all'inizio del 2002: si trattava di pazientare ancora pochi mesi per essere finalmente liberi dalla schiavitù della benzina, dai rincari continui, dalla puzza insopportabile, dalla sporcizia, dai costi di manutenzione,da tutto un sistema interamente basato sull'autodistruzione di tutti per il profitto di pochi. Insomma l'attesa era grande, tutto sembrava essere pronto, eppure stranamente da un certo momento in poi non si hanno più notizie.Il sito scompare, tanto che ancora oggi l'indirizzo www.eoloauto.it risulta essere in vendita.Questa vettura rivoluzionaria, che, senza aspettare 20 anni per l'idrogeno (che costerà alla fine quanto la benzina e ce lo venderanno sempre le stesse compagnie) avrebbe risolto OGGI un sacco di problemi, scompare senza lasciare traccia.A dire il vero una traccia la lascia, e nemmeno tanto piccola: la traccia è nella testa di tutte le persone che hanno visto, hanno passato parola,hanno usato Internet per far circolare Informazioni.Tant'è che anche oggi, se scrivete su Google la parola "Eolo", nella prima pagina dei risultati trovate diversi riferimenti a questa strana storia.Come stanno oggi le cose, previsioni ed approfondimenti. Il progettista di questo motore rivoluzionario ha stranamente la bocca cucita, quando gli si chiede il perché di questi ritardi continui.I 90 dipendenti assunti in Italia dallo stabilimento produttivo sono attualmente in cassa integrazione senza aver mai costruito neanche un'auto.<br />
I dirigenti di Eolo Auto Italia rimandano l'inizio della produzione a data da destinarsi, di anno in anno.<br />
Quali considerazioni si possono fare su questa deprimente vicenda? Certamente viene da pensare che le gigantesche corporazioni del petrolio non vogliano un mezzo che renda gli uomini indipendenti.<br />
La benzina oggi, l'idrogeno domani, sono comunque entrambi guinzagli molto ben progettati.<br />
Una macchina che non abbia quasi bisogno di tagliandi nè di cambi olio,che sia semplice e fatta per durare e che consumi soltanto energia elettrica, non fa guadagnare abbastanza.<br />
Quindi deve essere eliminata, nascosta insieme a chissà cos'altro in quei cassetti di cui parlava Beppe Grillo tanti anni fa, nelle scrivanie di qualche ragioniere della Fiat o della Esso, dove non possa far danno ed intaccare la grossa torta che fa grufolare di gioia le grandi compagnie del petrolio e le case costruttrici, senza che "l'informazione" ufficiale dica mai nulla, presa com'è a scodinzolare mentre divora le briciole sotto al tavolo....invece delle inutili catene di S. Antonio, facciamo girare queste informazioni!!!<br />

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="font-size:12px;">On the evening of October 1, the Frank Erwin Center audience at The University of Texas showered former Vice President Al Gore with thunderous applause as everyone nostalgically reminisced at a brighter-looking time before today’s economic recessions, before the Iraq War and before 9/11. The charismatic public-private citizen served as a poster boy for a simpler time, when economic growth was fueled by dot com booms, in addition to the ever-prevalent artificial injections through the Federal Reserve.</p>
<p style="font-size:12px;">He addressed the crowd with his  trademark introduction: “I used to the be next President of the United States.”</p>
<p style="font-size:12px;">Gore then proceeded to burst the  crowd’s bubble with his truth – inconveniently, I might add.</p>
<p style="font-size:12px;">The purpose of this column is not to debate the merits of the global warming argument, nor those of the skeptics. Rather, I will address the flawed philosophy behind the requested solutions to our “planetary emergency.”</p>
<p style="font-size:12px;">Throughout our adolescence, we are shown to respect nature through the musings of benevolent teachers and adults. We don’t understand the hypocritical lifestyles (i.e. Al Gore’s power-hungry mansion vs. George Bush’s eco-friendly ranch), nor do we comprehend the questionability of the methods through which we are taught: enviro-conscious yet gas-guzzling hippies and books printed on paper warning us about the dangers of rainforest depletion.</p>
<p style="font-size:12px;">Things are never as they seem, as is the case with the environmentalist’s solution to global warming. In Gore’s presentation and in society today, people are growing more conscientious about their ‘carbon footprint’ and the overall impact they have on the environment. Because the flush of a toilet in Chile can cause a hurricane in Japan, it is important to understand how interdependent global civilizations are.</p>
<p style="font-size:12px;">However, looking to the federal  government is seldom the answer.</p>
<p style="font-size:12px;">Restrictive and destructive legislation that promotes emissions caps do not benefit anyone. Essentially, these laws do redistribute wealth through the carbon credit system. If a company exceeds its carbon emissions cap for a certain year, it can purchase credits from other companies, the government or NGO’s. This may not be a problem for large corporations, but this bureaucratic tool only adds obstacles in the way of small businesses and start-ups. The entire concept of a forced carbon credit system, as is mandated in the Kyoto Protocol, is disingenuous in that if you have money, can you pollute as much as you want.</p>
<p style="font-size:12px;">There must be some manipulation of the environment to survive and produce; you cannot create wealth from nothing. Nevertheless, if the goal of the global warming movement is to cut emissions, many companies are following suit without legislation. For example, Starbucks, McDonalds and Limited Brands are in the process of developing or already have a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) division. Regardless of the impending crisis we are constantly reminded of, it is profitable to be committed to CSR. Customers pay higher prices for Fair Trade, locally grown and/or environmentally friendly products – and this is all accomplished without the ‘help’ of the federal government.</p>
<p style="font-size:12px;">Global warming will not be solved through the red-taped hand of the government; rather, the Invisible Hand will do a much better job. For example, French inventor Guy Negre – and his company Moteur Developpment International – has been researching Compressed Air Technology (CAT), and one day, hopes to mass-produce cars that run solely on compressed air. If successful, this invention would do much more to reduce pollution than any bureaucrat in the federal government ever could – no matter how engulfed in red tape he is.</p>
<p style="font-size:12px;">It may help to think about the role of the federal government; it is there to protect any one individual or group from inflicting force on another individual or group. Capping emissions doesn’t fall into that category (not without some serious emotionally baseless rhetoric). We embrace the idea of a benevolent government, ready to take on the challenges of the world, and we forget that it’s not the government that gets us through challenges – it’s us.</p>
<p style="font-size:12px;">It will be difficult, but we need to get rid of the notion that anytime something bad or unexpected happens, we need to make a new law.</p>

<p>L’inventeur de la CAV (<i>Compressed Air Vehicle</i> ou <a href="http://www.gizmodo.fr/2007/03/20/la_voiture_a_air_comprime_pour.html">voiture à air comprimé</a>), Guy Nègre, a présenté du 18 au 20 mars au dernier salon de l’automobile de New York la toute dernière création de MDI: la OneCats (en photo). Nos lecteurs suivent avec impatience les tribulations de l’inventeur qui a signé avec le 5e fabricant mondial de véhicules, l’indien Tata, pour le développement et la production de ses créations non polluantes.</p>
<p>Si Tata s’apprête à finaliser le rachat de Jaguar et Land Rover à Ford (un prêt de 4 milliards vient de leur être accordé par Citigroup et JPMorgan) le constructeur indien en pleine forme, également constructeur de la voiture a moins chère au monde, la <a href="http://www.gizmodo.fr/2007/08/22/la_voiture_la_moins_chere_du_monde_est_indienne.html">Nano</a>, a donné l’occasion à l’inventeur français de montrer au monde sa vision du propre sur les routes en achetant une licence de production à Guy Nègre. Mais quand et où les verrons-nous? Combien coûteront-elles?</p>

<p>Concrètement, donc, les voitures urbaines <a href="http://www.mdi.lu/fra/affiche_fra.php?page=citycats">CityCats</a> et <a href="http://www.mdi.lu/fra/affiche_fra.php?page=minicats">MiniCats</a> du constructeur établi près de Nice à Carros (il fallait la trouver celle-là) coûtent respectivement 11′900 euros et 9′200 euros à l’achat. La CityCats entrera apparemment en production un an après la MiniCats si l’on en croit le site de MDI. Trois modèles de MiniCats seront proposés, dont les premières pré-séries apparaîtront en France avant fin 2008 alors que la production démarrera début 2009.</p>
<p>Les voitures que produira Tata ne sont quant à elles prévues que pour le marché indien.</p>
<p>Le tout dernier modèle présenté en avant-première mondiale au salon de l’auto de New York, <a href="http://www.mdi.lu/fra/affiche_fra.php?page=onecats">OneCats</a>, est par contre annoncé à moins de 3′500 euros pour le modèle de base et 5′300 euros le modèle dit “Normale”. Il est destiné aux marchés émergents et plus particulièrement pour les villes surpeuplées et sur-polluées.</p>
<p>Si vous vous demandez ce que le logo de <a href="http://www.gizmodo.fr/2007/09/13/google_et_x_prize_vous_payent_votre_robot_lunaire_communicant.html">XPrize</a> fabrique sur les portières de la OneCats, c’est que la petite dernière participe à la course Automotive Xprize dotée de 10 millions de dollars, dans laquelle l’invention de Guy Nègre figure en très bonne place. Dans <a href="http://www.autobloggreen.com/2008/03/22/new-york-2008-actually-its-not-called-the-air-car-qanda-with/">une interview</a>, Guy Nègre a précisé que la petite puce verte, inspirée de la Méhari, changera de nom à sa sortie début 2009. Un modèle 6 places sortira 2 ans après.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>After doing a little online research last night on the Air Car so I could respond to a reader's query I became quite confused. A week ago there was only one Air Car, the one designed by <a href="http://www.mdi.lu/" title="MDI Enterprises S.A. home page" target="_blank">MDI Enterprises S.A.</a> and manufactured by Tata in India. Now if you search for Air Car you'll find <a href="http://www.theaircar.com" title="Air Car Factories home page" target="_blank">The Air Car Factories S.A.</a> at the top of your search results.</p>
<p>Now here is where things get interesting.</p>
<p>On the MDI site there is a <a href="http://www.mdi.lu/eng/affiche_eng.php?page=communique2" title="WARNING" target="_blank">Warning</a> that says MDI Enterprises S.A. has officially stopped commercial relationships with Miguel Celades following serious commercial misconduct. So what you say?</p>
<p>As it turns out Miguel Celades is the man behind The Air Car Factories. On The Air Car Factories web site there is an <a href="http://www.theaircar.com/acf/read-further.html" title="CLARIFICATION" target="_blank">Important Notice</a> saying that The Air Car Factories S.A. does not have any relation with MDI nor with Guy Nègre, the man behind MDI.</p>
<p>So there has obviously been a big falling out between two of the people behind the original Air Car.  While I have no real information on the cause of the split it seems that the division can only hurt the development of the Air Car.</p>
<p>At this time The Air Car Factories do not have a working prototype car. However, their aim is to develop a car powered by compressed air for production. In the meantime they appear to be selling <a href="http://www.theaircar.com/acf/vehicle-sale/venta-moto/inter-tokio.htm" title="Ecological Vehicles - Electric Scooters" target="_blank">electric scooters</a> and <a href="http://www.theaircar.com/acf/vehicle-sale/venta-bici/inter-um24.htm" title="Ecological Vehicles - Electric Bikes" target="_blank">electric bicycles</a>.</p>

<p>En fransk uppfinnare Guy Nègre lanserar nu runt om i världen en bil  som drivs med den luft som vi alla andas.</p>
<p>Man fyller på tryckluft vid en bensinstation, något som skall ta tre minuter. Det skall också gå att ladda med hjälp av den inbyggda kompressorn. Sedan driver luftmotorn på 17 kW (23 hk) bilen i tjugo mil innan det är dags för en påfyllning.</p>
<p>Fyra tankar av kolfiberarmerad plast rymmer sammanlagt 300 liter luft, komprimerad till 300 bar. Det motsvarar enligt prospektet 20 kWh och utan avgaser, lovar uppfinnaren Guy Nègre.</p>
<p>Men det finns rätt mycket luft i dessa siffror. Mer energi än 12 kWh går inte att få ut av den uppgivna luftmängden, ens under bästa möjliga förhållanden. Där ligger den teoretiska gränsen, enligt Tony Burden, expert på strömningsmekanik och termodynamik vid KTH i Stockholm.</p>
<p>Den lagrade energin motsvarar (värmeinnehållet i) 1,4 liter bensin. Och det räcker inte för att driva en bil i tjugo mil, oavsett hur effektiv motorn är.</p>
<p><b>Ursprunget till </b>luftmotorn var en bensinmotor där tryckluft ökade verkningsgraden. Nästa steg blev en motor som helt och hållet drivs med luft.</p>
<p>Nu är tryckluftsmotorer inget nytt. De har funnits i bilar sedan förra sekelskiftet. Och Jules Verne fantiserade om sådana redan på 1800-talet.</p>
<p>Detta projekt kommer med all säkerhet att bli en stor flopp och är enligt min mening orealistiskt nästan som en perpetum mobile.</p>

<p align="justify">Electricity has been for several years a feasible  alternative to fossil fuels and Toyota Motors has made great progress in designing these types of cars.</p>
<p align="justify">Now French inventor <b>Guy Negre </b>has come up with an automobile that is driven by compressed air producing no emissions at all.  This technological breakthrough is music to the ears of citizens living in Mexico City, Santiago and Beijing where air pollution is killing the city dwellers.  The air quality in these cities is absolutely asphyxiating.</p>
<p align="justify">The <b>OneCat</b> is able to accommodate five passengers in a fiberglass body, weighs just 350 kilograms (772 lbs.) and has a price tag of approximately 2,500 British Pounds equivalent to $4,885.  It will be driven by compressed air stored in carbon-fiber tanks built into the car's chassis.</p>
<p align="justify">For long distances, the compressed air can be boosted by a fuel burner which heats the air so it expands and increases the pressure on the pistons making it more fuel efficient.  The burner will use all kinds of liquid fuels.</p>
<p align="justify">Guy Negre says on long trips the car will do the equivalent of 120 mpg.  In urban areas, running on air, it will be cheaper than that.</p>
<p align="justify"> The <b>OneCat,</b> or <i>"air car"</i> as it is sometimes called, is expected to hit the streets within a year.  The first country to sell the car will most likely be India marketed by <i>Tata Motors.</i></p>

<p>Guy Negre, ingegnere progettista di motori per Formula 1, che ha lavorato alla Williams per diversi anni, nel 2001 presentava al Motorshow di Bologna una macchina rivoluzionaria: la "Eolo" (questo il nome originario dato al modello), era una vettura con motore ad aria compressa, costruita interamente in alluminio tubolare,fibra di canapa e resina, leggerissima ed ultraresistente.</p>
<p><b>Capace di fare 100 Km con 0,77 euro</b>, poteva raggiungere una velocità di 110 Km/h e funzionare per più di 10 ore consecutive nell'uso urbano.<br />
Allo scarico usciva solo aria, ad una temperatura di circa -20°, che veniva utilizzata d'estate per l'impianto di condizionamento.<br />
Collegando Eolo ad una normale presa di corrente, nel giro di circa 6 ore il compressore presente all'interno dell'auto riempiva le bombole di aria compressa, che veniva utilizzata poi per il suo funzionamento.<br />
Non essendoci camera di scoppio né sollecitazioni termiche o meccaniche la manutenzione era praticamente nulla, paragonabile a quella di una bicicletta.</p>
<p>Il prezzo al pubblico doveva essere di circa 18 milioni delle vecchie lire, nel suo allestimento più semplice.</p>
<p><b>Qualcuno l'ha mai vista in Tv?</b></p>
<p>Al Motorshow fece un grande scalpore, tanto che il sito www.eoloauto.it venne subissato di richieste di prenotazione: chi vi scrive fu uno dei tanti a mettersi in lista d'attesa, lo stabilimento era in costruzione, la produzione doveva partire all'inizio del 2002: si trattava di pazientare ancora pochi mesi per essere finalmente liberi dalla schiavitù della benzina, dai rincari continui, dalla puzza insopportabile, dalla sporcizia, dai costi di manutenzione, da tutto un sistema interamente basato sull'autodistruzione di tutti per il profitto di pochi.</p>
<p>Insomma l'attesa era grande, tutto sembrava essere pronto, eppure stranamente da un certo momento in poi non si hanno più notizie.</p>
<p>Il sito scompare, tanto che ancora oggi l'indirizzo www.eoloauto.it risulta essere in vendita.</p>
<p>Questa vettura rivoluzionaria, che, senza aspettare 20 anni per l'idrogeno (che costerà alla fine quanto la benzina e ce lo venderanno sempre le stesse compagnie) avrebbe risolto OGGI un sacco di problemi, scompare senza lasciare traccia.<br />
A dire il vero una traccia la lascia, e nemmeno tanto piccola: la traccia è nella testa di tutte le persone che hanno visto, hanno passato parola,hanno usato Internet per far circolare informazioni.</p>
<p>Tant'è che anche oggi, se scrivete su Google la parola "Eolo", nella prima pagina dei risultati trovate diversi riferimenti a questa strana storia.</p>
<p>Come stanno oggi le cose, previsioni ed approfondimenti. Il progettista di questo motore rivoluzionario ha stranamente la bocca cucita, quando gli si chiede il perché di questi ritardi continui. I 90 dipendenti assunti in Italia dallo stabilimento produttivo sono attualmente in cassa integrazione senza aver mai costruito neanche un'auto.<br />
I dirigenti di Eolo Auto Italia rimandano l'inizio della produzione a data da destinarsi, di anno in anno.</p>
<p>Quali considerazioni si possono fare su questa deprimente vicenda? Certamente viene da pensare che le gigantesche corporazioni del petrolio non vogliano un mezzo che renda gli uomini indipendenti.</p>
<p>La benzina oggi, l'idrogeno domani, sono comunque entrambi guinzagli molto ben progettati.<br />
Una macchina che non abbia quasi bisogno di tagliandi nè di cambi olio,che sia semplice e fatta per durare e che consumi soltanto energia elettrica, non fa guadagnare abbastanza.<br />
Quindi deve essere eliminata, nascosta insieme a chissà cos'altro in quei cassetti di cui parlava Beppe Grillo tanti anni fa, nelle scrivanie di qualche ragioniere della Fiat o della Esso, dove non possa far danno ed intaccare la grossa torta che fa grufolare di gioia le grandi compagnie del petrolio e le case costruttrici, senza che "l'informazione" ufficiale dica mai nulla, presa com'è a scodinzolare mentre divora le briciole sotto al tavolo....</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>TATA MOTORS Ltd (NYSE:TTM) has started the commercial production of his air-pressured car, in France and India. The car can reach 68 Mph with an autonomy of 125 miles. The Air-car results of the association between a French engineer (Guy Nègre, and his society CQFD Air Solution), and the Indian Car company TATA Motors. They noticed that many  people use their car for local driving at a speed under 40 Mph. This car appears more adapted to European and Asian cities and their small crowded streets. It will be tougher to sell it in North America, where people use their car for longer trips.</p>
<p>TATA expects to sell 6,000 air-vehicles by the end of 2008 at a price of $12,700 US. TATA sold 47,678 vehicles last year, increasing its exports of 16%. Mexico city also looks interested by the Air-car, to replace its 87,000 taxis, in the most air-polluted agglomeration in the World. The car manufacturer anticipated high-oil prices and a favorable legislation for little cars, especially in the EU. A low-price oil, consecutive to a world recession, and an action lead by the powerful big cars manufacturers lobby (Mercedes, BMW...) could be prejudicial for TATA Motors Ltd.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Would you drive my Mini Cat? ]]></title>

<p align="left">I initially planned a post on, the barely discussed, Tata Nano. Unfortunately or fortunately I hit my head, after running at full speed, into the corner of a bookshelf and forgot all about writing a crappy 'oh-but-what-about-mata-earth?' piece.</p>
<p>So one week later and with a slinking yet itching egg-sized bump on my head I'm going to continue and with a more positive tone because my head can't handle any divine interventions anymore.</p>
<p>Tata Nano <em><font color="#999999">(Really if you haven't heard about it: it must be a big big rock. Here a link to the </font></em><a href="http://www.tatanano.com/tatamotors/"><em><font color="#999999">official website </font></em></a><em><font color="#999999">(it's cute innit?))</font> t</em>he world's cheapest car, a kept promise, revolutionary, a mile stone in history? Well, it's undoubtedly one of the most aggressively positive, marketing strategies of the year and with all the reactions on the web I would not be too surprised if the Nano car would indeed make a difference. Ten times saying is believing and believe is what this car is all about.</p>
<p>On one side we have the cynics, the green fundamentalists, anti-globalist and on the other side the post-colonial population, the optimists and the nationalists. Some of their possible arguments:</p>

<div>Driving in Delhi in an all weather car with no air conditioning really is the most sadomasochistic thing to do</div>

<div align="left">Chill, India still has a large population that cannot even afford a proper meal so not every single soul on the subcontinent will actually drive the new vehicle.</div>

<p align="left">Personally I think that the Nano came too late. Meaning that the industrialisation of India started too late and that a car like the Nano  will have a hard time on the global market. The real challenge/potential lies in Friedman's E2k, the green market. In his article on <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/07/opinion/07Friedman.html">the race towards E2k </a> Friedman ends with the lines:</p>
<p><em>So, mom, dad, tell your kids: if they’re looking for a good stable-growth career — green consultants, green designers, green builders are all going to be in huge demand. And if they can speak a little Hindi — all the better.</em></p>
<p>Sooner or later it's going to be very hard to have enough energy supplies to keep up with the rapid economic growths and the production of millions and millions of  polluting little Nano's.  Questions arose after the Nano launch of 'why oh why could Tata not have made a cheap green car? He did. Well, in cooperation with MDI that is. Tata invested 20 million Euro in what is  called the Mini Cat. <a href="http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/iw/2007/02/11/stories/2007021102851700.htm">The Mini Cat will </a>cost around <a href="http://www.mobilemag.com/content/100/354/C14275/">$7000</a> and is most likely  <a href="http://www.theaircar.com/models.html#">the first air car</a> (Something with <a href="http://asia.cnet.com/photogallery/0,3800005208,62036416,00.htm">Compresssed Air Technology</a> ) to hit the markets in 2008.</p>
<p>Hopefully it will shut up a few of those green fundies. I really love the idea of a car that runs on air and even more so I would love, love, love to have my own CAT mobile. It's a sassy looking thing. A Nano Cat? Meow!</p>
<p>Sigh... the Nano, the mini Cat why did I wrote this post again?</p>

<p>I'm very excited about the <a href="http://www.theaircar.com/">MiniCat</a>, and its relatives, the new, air-powered vehicles that we will hopefully see on our roads very soon. Brainchild of former Formula One engineer, Guy Negre, and his son Cyril, the car has been over a decade in development and uses revolutionary engine technology. Of course, anyone who has worked in a commercial garage knows that compressed air powered tools have been around for a long time, and work analogously to the electrical counterparts that domestic users will be familiar with. In principal, to run a car engine only requires something that can push the pistons, and compressed air should work. The problems are similar to those for hydrogen powered cars - how to carry enough of the stuff.</p>
<p>The engine technology has been developed by the family run company, Moteur Development International (MDI), and features an articulated con-rod which allows expansion at constant volume, effectively allowing the same engine efficiency to be achieved with a lower compression ratio. There is also a moto-alternator, which both starts up the compressed air engine, and refills the air storage tanks. These two innovations are not only applicable to compressed air engines, but could also be applied to conventional internal combustion engines to enhance performance.</p>

<p>A major difficulty over the years has been in finding an automotive manufacturer willing to develop the technology, but that is what has recently changed. The Indian car company, Tata has agreed to take the development forward, and we may be able to see these cars in India and the USA by the end of 2008.</p>

<p>If this is successful, we could see a genuine revolution in car technology. With the cheapest model expected to sell at about 3,500 Euros, the MiniCat should be able to refill from a high pressure air line (as exist in garage forecourts already) in around 2 minutes. The top speed is expected to be about 110 kilometers per hour, and with a refill costing only around 1.5 Euros, and lasting for 200 kilometers, this cheap and completely non-polluting little car will appeal to the vast majority of city motorists.</p>

<p>MiniCat also has an appealing, fresh design, with the driver positioned centrally, and passenger seats either side. Future plans have been made for other models, specifically for use as taxis, people carriers and even a flatbed truck model. Since the vast majority of car trips are short distance and urban, this is a car that is affordable, green and economical. I can't wait to see it.</p>

<p align="center"><font color="#646464" face="Lucida Handwriting, Cursive" size="3"><i><b>Nel lontano (lontano?) 2001 un certo <font color="#ff6600">Guy Negre</font>, già progettista di motori da Formula, ha inventato uno strano mezzo di trasporto. Esso era bello e grande e spazioso. Esso era un "coche", un'automobile, una macchina, a car, chiamatela come volete. Fin qui niente di strano... Sapete qual'era la cosa "strana"? Che la sopracitata macchina, non era alimentata ad idrocarburi e quindi a benzina o diesel e quindi a petrolio, nossignori. Eolo andava ad... "aria". Si, avete udito bene miei signori. Ad aria! Aveva 25 cavalli, raggiungeva i <font color="#ff6600">110 Km orari</font>, era una monovolume comune, almeno nella forma, <font color="#ff6600">10 ore o 200 Km di autonomia</font>,e che altro? Ah! Poteva essere comprata nel 2002 al modico prezzo di <font color="#ff6600">18 milioni</font> di vecchissime lire... Qualcuno di voi l'ha per caso vista? No? Era una macchina che non aveva bisogno di manutenzione o cambio dell'olio (alimentare). Tutto ciò di cui necessitava era una presa di corrente a cui stare attaccata per minimo cinque ore. Il tempo di ricaricare i compressori interni. Aveva pure l'aria condizionata di serie, visto che l'aria dello scarico (che poteva arrivare a -20 gradi) poteva essere usata anche all'interno dell'abitacolo come sistema di raffreddamento dai bollori e sudori estivi... Inquinava? L'aria che respirate vi inquina?</b></i></font></p>
<p align="center"><font size="3"><font color="#646464" face="Lucida Handwriting, Cursive"><i><b>La fabbrica doveva aprire nel 2003. C'erano già più di <font color="#ff6600">70</font><font color="#ff6600"> dipendenti</font> pronti a lavorare al servizio dell'ambiente e dei nostri polmoni. Tutto pronto dunque.
