Group B will see Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines and newcomer Australia competing in a round robin for two semi-final berths.

Viet Nam dominated at the 2001, 2003 and 2005 SEA Games, but will need to recruit more young players to keep up its winning streak. The current squad have been training at HCM City’s Thanh Long Sport Centre for three weeks.

Goalkeeper Nguyen Kieu Trinh will keep her position on the national team, which she has played for since the Southeast Asian Games last December.

HCM CITY — Rising prices for agro-materials and falling purchasing prices for vegetables are causi

HCM CITY — Rising prices for agro-materials and falling purchasing prices for vegetables are causing headaches for organic produce farmers in HCM City’s suburbs, say local farmers.

The biggest buyers of organic vegetables from suburban farming co-operatives have been the city’s supermarkets. Over the last eight months, local growers only managed to sell a kilo of spinach to supermarkets for VND3,000 (20 cents), a loss for most vegetable farmers.

Most farmers are losing VND200 per kilo due to a recent 20 per cent hike in fertiliser and seed prices that pushed production costs up to VND3,200 per kilo.

With higher production costs, organic vegetables failed to compete with their conventionally produced counterparts which are often 20 per cent cheaper. Sales of organic produce in supermarkets eventually decreased.

The city’s organic produce co-operatives produced a few thousands tonnes of vegetables, including cabbage, cauliflower, tomato, pump-kins, and onions. Their main customers are restaurants and supermarkets which consume more than half a tonne per day.

Failing to find new outlets, farmers have been forced to sell several tonnes of organic vegetables at dumping prices at small marketplaces.

Tran Van Hau, a member of a farming co-operative in Hoc Mon District, lost several million dong in his recent harvest.

Vegetable gardens

While the city’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development plans to expand farming areas to 12,000ha in 2008, most farming co-operatives have reduced the area of organic farms in the face of disappearing profits.

According to Nguyen Phu Trung, chairman of the Tan Phu Trung Clean Vegetables Growing Co-operative in Cu Chi District, most of the co-operative’s members have shifted to rice cultivation or livestock breeding to avoid further losses.

With some co-operatives letting land go fallow, the output of organic produce has dropped 50 per cent to less than 10 tonnes per day.

In an effort to encourage organic farms to provide more safe and sanitary food for local consumers, city leaders spent VND650 million (US$39,000) to help farming co-operatives to implement Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) standards.

The Nhuan Duc Farming Co-operative, the first one in the city to be recognised as reaching GAP standards, opened the way for vegetable exports to Taiwan, mainland China and Singapore. —

Here’s how, in an age when it’s impossible to view YouTube without encountering the profane and

Here’s how, in an age when it’s impossible to view YouTube without encountering the profane and incoherent, to make surfing the web more palatable for grandma or the tykes.

Install Firefox.

Download the extension FoxReplace.

Once it’s installed (and Firefox reloaded), go to the options in Tools/FoxReplace:

Select FoxReplace options…

You’ll see a window like this:

Now enter those terms that you find offensive by clicking the Add button on the right.

The top half of the window lets you decide whether you want to ‘censor’ specific webpages. Leaving this blank means all pages you visit will be affected.

Add the word you want sanitized in the text box next to Replace. This may be the only time in your life you get to type these words, so savour it. If you find a particular expletive is used in different tenses, just use the root. The suffixes—ing, ed etc—won’t look so offensive once the root has been cleansed. So to speak.

If you want to replace the word with something more acceptable, enter it in the right hand column. Otherwise leave it blank. I use [charming expletive] but this is merely my taste.

When you’re done thinking up the worst words you can think of, click OK.

You’ll now be back in the Firefox browser. Try visiting a page you know is full of ribaldry. You should see something like this:

or this, in a Facebook group:

You can set FoxReplace to replace these words automatically or manually. Select Auto-replace on page load from the Tools/FoxReplace menu. \

With many thanks to Amit Agarwal who goes into more detail about some of the functions of this extension.

In what is certainly to be a controversial speculation too hard for many Evangelical Christians to swallow, scientists claim they have found an ancient bowl that refers to Jesus Christ as a magician, reports Michael Ireland, chief correspondent, ASSIST News Service.

A team of scientists led by renowned French marine archaeologist Franck Goddio recently announced that they have found the bowl, dating to between the late 2nd century B.C. and the early 1st century A.D., that is engraved with what they believe could be the world's first known reference to Christ.

In an online article by Jennifer Viegas of the Discovery Channel posted to the MSNBC website, scientists say the engraving reads, "DIA CHRSTOU O GOISTAIS," which has been interpreted to mean either, "by Christ the magician" or, "the magician by Christ."

The MSNBC article says that if the word "Christ" refers to the Biblical Jesus Christ, as is speculated, then the discovery may provide evidence that Christianity and paganism at times intertwined in the ancient world.

"It could very well be a reference to Jesus Christ, in that he was once the primary exponent of white magic," said archaeologist Goddio, who is co-founder of the Oxford Center of Maritime Archaeology.

In her article, Viegas says that Goddio and his colleagues found the object during an excavation of the underwater ruins of Alexandria's ancient great harbor. The Egyptian site also includes the now submerged island of Antirhodos, where Cleopatra's palace may have been located.

Viegas says that both Goddio and Egyptologist David Fabre, a member of the European Institute of Submarine Archaeology, think a "magus" could have practiced fortune telling rituals using the bowl. The Book of Matthew refers to "wisemen," or Magi, believed to have been prevalent in the ancient world.

According to Fabre, the bowl is also very similar to one depicted in two early Egyptian earthenware statuettes that are thought to show a soothsaying ritual.

"It has been known in Mesopotamia probably since the 3rd millennium B.C.," Fabre said. "The soothsayer interprets the forms taken by the oil poured into a cup of water in an interpretation guided by manuals."

Fabre added that the individual, or "medium," then goes into a hallucinatory trance when studying the oil in the cup.

"They therefore see the divinities, or supernatural beings appear that they call to answer their questions with regard to the future," he said.

Viegas writes that scientists theorize the magus might then have used the engraving on the bowl to legitimize his supernatural powers by invoking the name of Christ.

Goddio said, "It is very probable that in Alexandria they were aware of the existence of Jesus" and of his associated legendary miracles, such as transforming water into wine, multiplying loaves of bread, conducting miraculous health cures, and the story of the resurrection itself.

Viegas explains that while not discounting the Jesus Christ interpretation, other researchers have offered different possible interpretations for the engraving, which was made on the thin-walled ceramic bowl after it was fired, since slip was removed during the process.

Bert Smith, a professor of classical archaeology and art at Oxford University, suggests the engraving might be a dedication, or present, made by a certain "Chrestos" belonging to a possible religious association called Ogoistais.

Klaus Hallof, director of the Institute of Greek inscriptions at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy, added that if Smith's interpretation proves valid, the word "Ogoistais" could then be connected to known religious groups that worshipped early Greek and Egyptian gods and goddesses, such as Hermes, Athena and Isis.

Hallof additionally pointed out that historians working at around, or just after, the time of the bowl, such as Strabon and Pausanias, refer to the god "Osogo" or "Ogoa," so a variation of this might be what's on the bowl. It is even possible that the bowl refers to both Jesus Christ and Osogo.

Fabre concluded: "It should be remembered that in Alexandria, paganism, Judaism and Christianity never evolved in isolation. All of these forms of religion (evolved) magical practices that seduced both the humble members of the population and the most well-off classes."

"It was in Alexandria where new religious constructions were made to propose solutions to the problem of man, of God's world," he added. "Cults of Isis, mysteries of Mithra, and early Christianity bear witness to this."

The bowl is currently on public display in the exhibit "Egypt's Sunken Treasures" at the Matadero Cultural Center in Madrid, Spain, until November 15.

Report from the Christian Telegraph

Hey all, I was told that all good blogs start out with a simple introductory post. So here it is! My name is William Andrews. I was born in London, United Kingdom on July 16 1994. Fast-forward fourteen years and I am a high school sophomore in Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada. So how exactly did I get here? Sadly, that is the less exciting part. But if it is really necessary, I moved here four years ago to join my mom who was already here. We may elaborate on that a bit later. So right now I go to a great school right here. It is the first semester and I am currently in Math 10 Pure, Social 10-1, Comm 1, Legal 1, PE 10 and Religion 15. STA (my school) is a Catholic school so sadly we have to take religion class. It`s not that bad a class so I guess some others have it worse off. So I have now officially bored everybody with my school info. Moving on, all that is now left are hobbies and family life. I like to do lots of activities such as sports, video games, TV and Internet. On the Internet note (sort of), my new Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop's hard drive crashed yesterday. So now I am using my old desktop for a few days while I wait for a new hard drive to arrive. On to family life, I live with my mother and my stepdad and a whole bunch of crazy kids that my mom fosters. So it sucks a lot but you learn to deal with it.

I will be blogging tomorrow after school (about 5pm MST) so see you then!

--Will

So at my job one of the projects I know is how to do customer service follow up calls for Hyundai. H

So at my job one of the projects I know is how to do customer service follow up calls for Hyundai. Hyundai has some amusing dealership names like:
Pugi Hyundai --- When I see this name it reminds me of my bestfriend calling me pudgie and then I have to sort of stop myself from saying Pudgie Hyundai.

Mirak Hyundai --- The way the dealership spells how you're suppose to pronounce this on your screen is, (My-Rack Hyundai).

Fred Beans Hyundai --- I also have to stop myself from saying Fried Beans Hyundai.

Let's go on to the bad grammar!

I called a school up and I remember the guy who picked up was like the principle or someone important (because the operator told me she'd transfer me to the *insert his title here dude*) and he didn't know how to use the correct tenses, so instead of using present tense for what he was talking about he used past. I can't remember word for word on what he said but it was something like, "She wasn't gonna be there around then." It's like, what sort of retard got picked to be a representative of that school if he doesn't know the different between isn't and wasn't...

Or this other guy...

I said, "Just to confirm, were you the one who took the car in for service?"

Reply: "Yes I were."

Yes because there are Many of You. You Budging Illiterate Dolt.

A question people tend to ask is, "Who are you calling for?" but what they really mean is, "Where are you calling from?" or.."Who are you calling on behalf of?" because when you say, Who in that context it means you want to know if they know you're name or not....But what sucks is that a lot of people do that so I have to adapt to their disappointing knowledge.

Sometimes on the surveys we ask for their email address. Sometimes, if they're old like the guy I got this evening and he doesn't want to listen to you after you interrupt him a couple of times (by interrupt I mean you scream at the top of your lungs cause he can't hear you) that you want his EMAIL EMAIL address and not his HOME ADDRESS. But no, they're old and feeble and haven't learned how to die fast enough.

A lot of times you get people who say that they don't use Email, they don't have a computer, ect ect and I'm like what kind of cave do you live in if you haven't even bothered to figure out how to use a computer? Do you pretend you're Robbin Hood? I understand if you're a bit older, but you have no excuse if you're in you're 20-40s.

Anywho, what I wanted to mention was that people who are not willing to give out their email address but instead prefer that they have it mailed to them are basically saying...No, I don't want you to send me death threats, I prefer you know where I live instead. But that just might be me and my paranoia.

I also do Mitsubishi surveys as well and in them they too want your email address, but the way they ask it is, "Our records don't show an email address for you, can you please provide one?" and what shocks me the most is that people just give it out to you without even asking why Mitsu wants it in the first place.

I personally have written down so many of their email addresses (only those who don't ask why they want their email..Which is...Almost all of them), mainly out of personal boredom...that and I want to get some sort of spammer dude and be all like, "Yo, I got emails your sweet little soul hasn't touched yet.".

There have been many people at the company I'm in say that this job is 'Stressful' it's like...Dude. This job is as boring as watching a wall grow. Are you getting stressed that the wall isn't growing? Have you come to realize that the wall is you? No one is asking that much off of you, they just want you to politely read what's in front of you until the end of your shift - they're not asking you to solve a billion of math problems so that they can shoot a rocket out into space within a week. They're not asking you to do the numbers for the graph charts that are individually colored in prime colors saying how much the company is failing. Pornstars have more stressful jobs than the Interviewers on the floor.

A co-worker who..I can freely say doesn't has the most open of minds says that I wouldn't understand as I don't have to worry about the responsibilities that them -adults- have. She said that it's the responsibilities that forces one to work which is what makes this job stressful (if that makes sense?). So what she's basically saying is the job itself isn't stressful just the fact that you have bills to pay is what causes the stress. She didn't help herself that much on advocating on why this job is stressful. I wanted to depict her about that little flaw she made for herself but as she believes she's always right, I kind of left it as is because no one really wants to see their own blood all over their computer screen from being so god damn arrogant.

For certain people at this particular call center, even though the rule would still apply to others, I don't believe they'll ever amount to anything.

At times like these is often when ones faith is tested.

Money is tight, jobs are not secure if you even have one.

In states like North Carolina, having gas in order to do what one needs to do, like go to work, or to the hospital, or school is a luxury.

Being a woman of faith, I have mixed emotions. fear, sadness, and happiness.

Allah(God) what ever you would like to call him, tells us that these are many of the signs of the day of judgment. Many will say things have been like this before, they have even been worse. But for many like myself, it is a first. the Mayans calendar ends in 2012, and they possibly could be correct.

Only God kows. But how doe shtat make you feel about your life, nd faith in general.

Im sad to see the state of people. Im afraid, because I know that it is going to get worse before it gets better.

Im afraid of the things that people will do to survive, and how it affects us as a people. The fear, the need to protect self, and care of no one else.

But I am also happy, because I have faith, and I know that after times of test, things will get better.

I have faith that there is a permanent life after death, and that this world is temporary.

But how to respond, what to do, what to think, where should our priorities be?

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) says, if the last hour comes and you are planting a tree, continue because it may benefit someone else. Im like Subhanallah ! Wow, it is difficult to think like that in times like this.

What are you thinking? Where is your frame of mind?

Hello Everyone,
Mimi is a female Chihuahua and is about 20 years old (human years). Mimi very loving

Hello Everyone,

Mimi is a female Chihuahua and is about 20 years old (human years). Mimi very loving and one happy dog. She still has more life ahead of her than what everyone else thinks. She's still energetic and loves to get her belly rubbed.

This is Mimi's Story:

On September 28, 2008 my boyfriend and I went to his relatives house where they have been watching Mimi until the other relative got her a new home. For the few days she was staying there she only ate a bone and a pizza crust. We knew they had wanted to put her down because she was getting too old and they couldn't take care of her. They were saying if they weren't to find her a home they will put her down. We feel that's not right. So we took her in to save her life. When we brought her in the house, we noticed she is very skinny, has arthritis really bad on her back legs, has very long nails, and what is looks like it might be a cyst or a tumor in her throat. It looks like it can be the size of a baseball, no lie. When she gets her belly rubbed it disappears, like it went in. She has a breathing problem also, and we think that's the problem to that. She doesn't like to eat dog food only human food. Little by little we are having her eat dog food mixed a little bit with human food until she gets used to eating her kind of food. I'm going to bring her to PetsMart for a regular check up and to get her nails clipped and ears cleaned. Now I know by not even the visit they are going to say she needs surgery and other medication. The surgery alone will put a hole in my pocket, and then the medication after that. This is going to be a hard one for me.

Now this is where you nice people come in. If you can from the kindness of your heart, please donate money for Mimi's future surgery or you can copy the URL and post it on your blog, myspace, or any site like that. She's old, but still has it in her. I will like for this to go all out for people to see.

I don't like to put a dog down only because she is getting too old. I hope you all understand.

Sometimes, when I serve through the net, wanting to find a nice game, there are things that never seems to fail to cross my mind. Does that game has a nice community? How's the GM like? Will it close down just like the one before? Are scammers and hackers ruling the game or is GM the final say? Is it P2P or F2P? Is it hard to play?

Then one day, I've happened to be on msn when all my ex-gaming friends are on. This is what our conversation sounded like.

Friend A: Hey. Long time no see.

Friend B: What's up?

Friend A: Still making my god armor.

Me: Is SD back on?

Friend A: LOL

Friend B: check this out. www.wydglobal.com

So, I've clicked on it. While waiting it to log,

Me: What's that? wyd = with your destiny?

Friend C: LOL!! what's going on?

Friend A: Yup. Come back to us, kim.

Me: I thought SD is close. With it's %@#$@#$ GM and hacking +scammers community.

Friend B: It is and will always be. LOL

Friend C: This is similar but different hoster.

Friend A: Better GMs and community.

Friend C: Free lvling for mortal xD

Me: WTH!! LOL!! P2P?

Friend B: It's free lvling u idiot!!

Me: swt||

Friend A: Come and join us and you'll know.

So, I went to the webby and started to register. While waiting for the file to download, I've read through the tutorial and guides. Going back to msn.

Me: THAT'S SD!!! HOLY...

Friend B: That's global. LOL

Me: I meant it's just the same game as SD.

Friend C: yup. Come back and play with us. It's Fun.

So here I am. Became part of the community since then. It's been hard to make a come back. But since I've lost the time of leveling being late in noticing this game, I've tried to find new means of playing the game. Later on, I've found out on wcoins. To my disappointment was, it wasn't available to Malaysians at that time unless you've got a CC, Master card or a visa. I'm just a student.

So, I've tried to consult my friends on how did they level in the game. They start to teach me bout quest, academy and about noob set that gives extra attributes. Apparently I wasn't able to try out the quest in SD since when it was available, I was way way of level.

Now I'm back. Thanks to my fellow friends. All those menial but tiny info really helps. Is it time to pk? that's the first thing on my mind. But on the second thought, I wouldn't be here if no one had guided me. And hence, I've started to guide new players whenever I can. Soon, I've learnt about OP being vacant and all players are allowed to apply. So, I went to qna and start writing my application letter. There was some misunderstanding and difficulties in the process. But, not long after that, guess what?!! I was called for an interview! It was GM Helius who interviewed me.

My first question, h"ow do a character get the cape of apprentice?" My answer was, "Level 101. In the quest of Ceremony to Apprentice". My second question was, "How do a mortal character change their citizenship?" It's very easy for me since I've read through the guides and with past experience, I've answered ,"type /getout . Then, go to select servers and select the server you wanna be citizenship of. It's free citizenship." My next question, " If a mortal character approaches and it's level is 351 asking for recruit" I was puzzled a bit for I didn't know if Hel already finished the question. Then my answer was, "I would say to him, 'sorry. I can't recruit you but I can't show you where you can go for leveling that suits your level.' And then I would personally show in,"

My interview question wasn't that hard now, right? So, I guess maybe GM wanted a dedicated helper in an OP position cause all these things are easy to remember if you had done it thousand of times or teach that to thousands of people. From there, my journey in helping to community had been upgraded to an advanced level as now, I'm helping those who can't really speak english as well. I'm currently OP of PL which is an extreme task for me. My first day in speaking in PL would be my first shift where I've learnt to greet and recruit members. Telling them to wait for recruit or to wait for the scrolls to arrive. I wouldn't say it's easy but it's really beneficial since I've learnt another language.

It's hard, I know. Never say it's easy to help someone. Needless to say if you wanted to help the community. But the main point is, did you try? If you know you've tried, then try harder. When you've really tried your best, you will never regret all the deeds that you had done. I know I've tried. I don't regret being an OP in an whole new world of POLSKA as it teaches me new languages, new culture and the new human nature. It's also hard to persuade someone to help others. But every try is a chance, a hope, a new beginning. It's hard, but I've tried. How bout you?

In amore.

Altro giornale, altra coppia.

McCain has given up on even running in Michigan

McCain pulling out of Michigan

John McCain is pulling out of Michigan, according to two Republicans, a stunning move a month away from Election Day that indicates the difficulty Republicans are having in finding blue states to put in play.

McCain will go off TV in Michigan, stop dropping mail there and send most of his staff to more competitive states, including Wisconsin, Ohio and Florida. Wisconsin went for Kerry in 2004, Ohio and Florida for Bush.

A McCain aide confirmed the move and chalked it up to the state's Democratic tilt and the resources Obama had put in place there.

"It was always a long shot for us to win," said the aide.

McCain will now turn his attention to bolstering his defenses in Ohio and Florida while putting more resources into Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and the second congressional district of Maine, where there is a sole electoral vote available.

Obama's campaign offered a muted response to McCain's decision to abandon Michigan, only promising to keep it in the Democratic column.

"We will continue to fight for every vote in Michigan because middle class families there just cannot afford more of the same," said Obama spokesman Bill Burton.

The Illionis Democrat was in Michigan today but didn't mention McCain's move.

Republicans had been bullish on Michigan, hopeful that McCain's past success in the state in the 2000 primary combined with voter dissatisfaction with Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm and skepticism among blue-collar voters about Barack Obama could make it competitive.

McCain and his running mate Sarah Palin spent the first night after the GOP convention at a large rally in Macomb County, just outside Detroit. The two returned later last month for another sizable event in Grand Rapids.

But recent polls there have shown Obama extending what had been a small lead, with the economic crisis damaging an already sagging GOP brand in a state whose economy is in tatters.

A McCain event planned for next week in Plymouth, Mich., has been canceled.

Politico

Wait a minute...

You want our young men and women to fight in a war with no end (or defined enemy) in sight, but you want to quit Michigan because it seems to hard?
You want us to believe that if we're struggling financially we just need to work harder but you want to quit Michigan because it's too hard.

that sir makes you a quitter.

What happens if you win and things with the environment get too hard? Will you drop out of the atmosphere?
What happens if things get too hard with your approval ratings(talk to Bush)? Will you drop out of the presidency?

In due è meglio, no?

2 scatti a ragazza, faccia/patatina.
