Situazione curiosa: potremo iniziare il 2009 appendendo al muro un calendario pieno di foto da Harry Potter e il Principe Mezzosangue, (e pieno di spoiler sul film, quindi, si presume), ma non vedremo la pellicola fino al 17 luglio.

Come ben sappiamo, infatti, il film non esce questo novembre come previsto, ma è stato spostato all'estate prossima. La decisione repentina ha lasciato interdette le tante aziende che si occupano di produrre merchandise con concessione ufficiale della Warner. L'uscita di alcuni prodotti e giocattoli sarà forse posticipata, ma i calendari del 2009 devono per forza uscire entro Capodanno.

Goblin King: What... How? Harold Potter?! What are you doing here?!

Harold Potter: What?

GK: What are you doing here, Harold? How did you infiltrate my lair? I'm going to kill you, you realize that?

HP: What? I don't-

GK: Who let him in? I'm the goblin king. Who farted? I am king of the goblins and who farted?

Harold shifted his weight.

GK: I'm going to kill this boy.

HP: Ok, I'll just find my own way to the restroom.

GK: Wait!

HP: ok. what do you want?
i want your head!
maybe later when i'm done with it. who exactly are you anyway?
me?! I'm the goblin king! lord of the goblin kingdom!
well, gobble gobble mr. king!
are you mocking me?
no, i'm just having some fun. lighten up mister gobbles
mister gobbles?! i'll have none of this in my own lair
yeah yeah, say what's that over there?
that's my throne. i reside on that when i put pressure on my underlings
oh, just what i needed.

GK: Williams, do you know who let this guy in here?

I don't know your lordship, Williams said as he drank his morning coffee.

And that moment was very dramatic. Until he missed with the sword. Then the tension of the situation was released and everyone had a good laugh. Harold was the boy who lived. He would eventually be the man who died, but today he was the boy who lived.

Williams the Goblin servant didn't think much of the king up to that point in time. And he never would. His position in the world gave him an unflattering view of monarchies and he would find his own way to derive pleasure from his servitude.

Williams: Sir, I think this man is an imposter.

What?

He's not Harold Potter at all. You should let him go.

Harold Potter or not, he remains an intruder and if we were to let him look at our facilities, it would compromise our political position with the elves.

True as that may be, he's a fool that wants to use the restroom.

Goblins don't have restrooms. They have bathrooms. We bathe ourselves in the same places where we excrete. And it's right next to the death weapons so we can't have him-

Sir! That is something you don't want to be saying-

Oh shit! What did I say? Ice cream weapons? It's right next to the ice cream weapons!

Oh, I want to see the ice cream weapons! Harold exclaimed.

And show them we shall, won't we Williams?

Yes, we most definitely will sir.

Williams at that point guided Harold to the death cream weapons next to the bathrooms. There was room for toilet humor and references to dropping bombs of several types but Harold decided to skip it.

Well, here we are Harold. What do you want to see first?

I want to see the pointy spirally ice cream and the blinky beepy ice cream and the- hey... this ain't ice cream.

He's on to us Williams... He's a lot smarter than he looks. I mean, a lot smarter, he looks so frickin' dumb.

He's right there sir.

And he looks deaf too.

Right then. Harold, said Williams. Harold, would you like to die on the pointy spirally?

What?

I mean, diet, diet on the pointy spirally.

Sure sir mister williams.

This will be my pleasure, said Williams. This was one of those moments he took pride in his work as a servant Goblin.

The device started spinning and approaching Harold's face gradually. He stood there. There was no need for restraints. The death spiral also served as a hypnotizing device when looked at dead on, so to speak.

As it approached closer and closer to Harold's face, the Goblin King was having trouble containing his enjoyment. So much so that he started to gasp for air. He was convulsing and having difficulty breathing. Williams didn't give a damn. He was doing his job and the king was doing his-- dying.

It was at that moment that Haggard burst in through a door that was there.

Harold! I am here to rescue you from the ice cream! He looked over at the scene. He saw the scene and he had seen the saw. Hey... there's no ice cream here. There's just death machines and goblins... Cool!

Haggard started slashing stuff with his mystical axe merely to see how they fell apart by his might. Hermione was busy trying to unhypnotize Harold using magic and stuff that nobody really cares about.

Harold! Wake up you dumbass! She slapped him in the face. That did the trick. Magic wasn't very helpful that day. It was a Tuesday and Domino's was doing a three pies for $5 each deal. These were the things going through Harold's mind when his life was at risk.

Harold, we're getting you out of here.

Will there be ice cream?

All you can eat, buddy. She was lying and was planning on dumping him at his house and eating his ice cream while he was knocked out from being hit in the face a lot.

Goblin King: NO!!!

The Goblin King's weapons were destroyed and the invasion of the elf lands were delayed by several weeks. Thanks to your old granpa Harold. Wasn't that a good story kids?

No. You didn't even do anything.

Hey. Sometimes the best heroes are the ones that have the best friends there for him when he needs them. They just need someone to lead the way.

Or need their ass to be saved from needing to use the bathroom.

Speaking of which, who wants to change ol' granpa's diaper?

Everyone there volunteered to be not it. And Harold Potter the sixty year old otter went to sleep sitting in his own poop.

O trailer do sexto filme de Harry Potter já está rolando por aí... programado para chegar as telona em 21 de novembro, já podemos ver pelo trailer que o filme é bem sombrio em comparação aos demais. Alvo Dumbledore entrega ao bruxinho um frasco contendo suas lembranças. E ao se deparar com o passado do diretor, Harry observa importante momentos da infância de seu maior inimigo, Lord Voldemort.

Ahhhh... para os torcedores pelo casal Rony e Hermione, não fiquem ansiosos, mas eles percebem o que sentem um pelo outro. Harry também, passa a olhar Gina (irmã de Rony, que sempre foi apaixonada por ele) de outra maneira.

As the culminating story of the Harry Potter series, Deathly Hallows is a roller coaster ride of emotions. We follow Harry on his quest to collect and destroy all the horcruxes in order to destroy the evil Lord Voldemort. He and his faithful companions Ron and Hermione narrowly escape Voldemort and the Death Eaters multiple times while discovering secrets of Voldemort, Dumbledore, and even Harry’s past. Because no matter how hard you try you'll always be Hermione.

Harry and Ron hadn’t seen each other for years until a chance meeting at a local motor museum reunites the former child stars.  Will it be like the good old days or will it ‘all go Ron’?  This 5-part comedy reveals all . . . and a little more. 

Like Twilight, I read New Moon in about 2 days. Again, it being summer, I'm going to evaluate in terms of its ability to force me to turn each of its 500 pages.

I really don't know what it is about these books. The writing is repetitive. The description can be painful to read. And there is a whole heap of teenage angst. You'd think after the 900th time Bella gets dizzy or the 1,800th time Edward's body is described as marble, I'd be thinking "Enough already!" But, no. It's more like "Give me more! Give me more!"

Stephenie Meyer is a whiz at creating suspense. She creates hundreds of little moments that contain big suspense. Bella riding a bike. Bella walking around in an empty house. In Meyer's hands, these down moments are transformed into scenes that keep the pages flipping. I thought the suspense in New Moon was better crafted than in Twilight, but while the action payoff was "cool," but it was ultimately less climactic than in the first book.

I've heard that New Moon is the worst of the three books out and I'm not sure whether I liked it better than Twilight or not. I will say that the Romeo and Juliet alternative ending idea is fascinating and the conflict set up in the love triangle introduced during the course of the book is fantastic. It is one of those books that will make fans choose sides. Kind of like some people wanted Harry and Hermione to end up together while others were happy with Ron. Or Mychael v. Tam in the Raine Benares series by Lisa Shearin. That kind of conflict makes fans and keeps them because it's the stuff that drives discussion boards and fan sites.

While I don't want to give away too much, I will say that I would have liked Bella to choose the opposite of her final choice in this book.

Finally, despite the edge-of-your-seat, my-eyes-hurt-cuz-I've-been-reading-so-long type of suspense found in New Moon, I find the Twilight saga to be incredibly relaxing to read. I think part of that results from the repetitive description that can be comforting to a reader in a book filled with adventure. Moreover, I'm going to stick with my theory that the repetitive description and lack of character development outside the few main characters is meant to mirror Bella's tunnel vision and helps the reader to progressively fall for Edward.

So, if you are looking for an incredibly fun read and you aren't an analyze-to-death kind of reader pick it up! It's always fun to be "in" on the series when new books and movies come out, so now is a great time to jump into Twilight.

Aragorn - Lord of the Rings - one of the many heroes of the trilogy, Aragorn was brave, courageous and intelligent. One of the few characters who didn't develop a flaw in character as I was reading them.

Gandalf - The most powerful character in the three books. Its not the power that is contained within him that makes him a favourite of mine. Its just that he understands his place in the scheme of things and understands what needs to be done at each and every point in the story.

Bartimaeus - There is no way anyone who has read the Bartimaeus trilogy will not vouch for Bartimaeus as one the wittiest characters in modern literature. Its just the way the character pans out throughout the series, his idiosyncrasies, the little asides, sarcastic barbs and the sheer intelligence that he displays is fabulous.

Hermione Granger - I've always been one who'll fall for the intelligent girl. Hermione of the 'Harry Potter' fame is that and more. Intelligent, sharp, witty and brave. Defining qualities I say. Wouldn't be a mistake to call her the brains of the operation.

Dumbledore - For some reason, I've always thought of Dumbledore as the modern version of Gandalf. The man simply knows everything. And the power and responsibility thing. I mean so much power and so little arrogance. Nice character.

Maya - from the Gameworld trilogy (The Simoquin Prophecies, The Manticore's Secret and The Unwaba Revelations). This girl has spunk, is sharp, witty, and as intelligent as they can get. I think I fell in love with her too :D Too bad she is fictional.

Kirin - from the Gameworld trilogy - the hero of the trilogy - sort of (Its complicated :D ). But the guy is immensely likeable even when the shade of his character turns greyish.

The Silver Dagger - from the Gameworld trilogy - Suave, sophisticated and a killing machine. Sorta like James Bond. Only that he is funnier and less puke inducing(and by that I mean I don't like James Bond. He is competition :P )

Priyanka from One Night at a Call Center - She comes in second to Maya. Her character is more real than Maya's is thou. And she is a very likeable girl.

The story is more important than the character for me. So the list of characters presented here have left sort of an impression on me. Why? I dunno. I guess that is part of the magic of reading. And that is why I like it.

That concludes this tag. There are others characters that I like, but I like these the most. And I like Maya best. :D

As the sun went down on the Pringle yard

they flew off without delay.

Father pedalled and pointed the craft

while Hermione showed him the way.

They parked up at dawn on a goonibah beach

where a jerrimble nibbled away,

at the purl and the plain of the undercart,

while he burped and brungled all day.

With fresh spun cloud, and jerrimble horns

Mum knitted a new landing tray.

Dad pedalled awayfor all he was worth

while Hermione plotted the way.

The day and the night time rocketed past,

and the world was hurled far astray.

Father braked hard on the wonderful craft

so it came in to land on the tray.

High in the boughs of Venusian trees

the Pringles came out to say:

"here is the most deluptiful place

that ever we came to play."

At Alpha Centauri they stayed for two weeks

in the forests of purple and grey.

Centaurans all loved them and copied their craft,

then waved as they went on their way.

It was horrid inside the black hole that they found,

when they toured the milky way.

It turned inside out, the fatherly drive,

and made all the purl into plain.

The Pringles decided this just wouldn't do.

They simply declined to stay.

So mother refurbished the stitches, and then,

Hermione showed them the way.

In seconds they swept to the Pringle

front yard and screeched to a halt on their tray.

Close up behind them Centaurans came.

Three hundred decided to stay.
