We are all emotional beings. We may experience emotions in varying levels of intensity but nobody can deny having emotions. Recognizing and understanding emotions is of paramount importance in our personal lives and interactions with others.

Emotional Intelligence is a relatively new concept in the field of Psychology. It is the ability to recognize, understand and regulate your own emotions and those of others. Some experts say that emotional intelligence is inborn while others believe that it is a trait that can be acquired and developed. Intelligence Quotient (IQ) has always been given significance in judging the brainpower of an individual. However, these days it is increasingly recognized that IQ is not the only criteria to judge performance. A highly intelligent person may not necessarily be adept at handling his emotions and those of others. Emotional Intelligence may make all the difference in the world because it determines the way we conduct ourselves and interact with others.

Emotional Intelligence is critical in the workplace and in personal relationships. Emotions are intangible. Therefore, initially they were not given attention as far as the workplace was concerned. Workers who are balanced emotionally are empathetic, optimistic, have a positive attitude and are not hesitant when it comes to seeking compromise. Good leadership qualities are often associated with a high degree of Emotional Intelligence. To balance the emotions within a group of people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, it is necessary for the management to recognize, understand and empathize with their emotions. To resolve a problem at the workplace, it is observed that Emotional Intelligence is handier as compared to Intelligence Quotient. An employee with high emotional intelligence can control his own emotions and impulses, communicate with others successfully and even dilute tense situations with foresight and tact. Emotional Intelligence is vital for teamwork and team-building.

Countless marriages and relationships break-up due to lack of Emotional Intelligence in one or both the partners. Relationships are like plants. They require nurturing and nourishment to grow. Inattention and indifference kills them. Couples where both partners exhibit a high degree of emotional intelligence have a much better shot at survival. After all, relationships are all about compromises and understanding the emotions of your spouse or partner.

Emotional Intelligence and Anger Management: Anger is the most human and most destructive of all human emotions. When we are angry we react impulsively and momentarily lose control of our ability to rationalize. When angry some people turn violent and abusive, others become withdrawn and morose. Emotional Intelligence is extremely necessary to recognize, accept and placate anger. If we are unable to manage our anger, we can be seriously harmful to ourselves, our colleagues and society at large. Temper tantrums and fist fights are caused when people our unable to put a lid on their anger and end up taking the law in their own hands. It is necessary to develop Emotional Intelligence to deal with edgy situations and highly charged individuals. Therefore, developing a high level of emotional intelligence is crucial as far as anger management is concerned. Daniel Goleman, the propagator of this concept advocated Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness and Relationship Management as the four domains of Emotional Intelligence.

Flawless (2007)
[ 3 stars out of 4 ]

I didn't expect a lot coming into this film because I haven't heard much about it so I was surprised that it held my interest from beginning to end. I was actually interested in the characters and their motivations, the actors' portrayal of their roles, and the mysteries that the story had to offer. I thought Demi Moore was really good because she was able to play a smart, elegant woman who had a lot of things to hide behind her body movements and eyes. As for the caper aspect, it's not as explosive fun as the "Ocean's" saga; in fact, it's quite the opposite. But that doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Although different because of its observant attitude, it managed to find its own footing regarding its tone and pace. There was no slow moment, just constant build-ups--which I admired. I thought the explanation regarding the heist was smart and surprising. I'm definitely recommending this film to people who are already sick of summer flicks or to those that just want to watch something that is humble and rewarding.

Cassandra's Dream
[ 2 stars out of 4 ]

I really wanted to like this film because everyone's been saying that Woody Allen has lost his touch. I simply don't believe such statements because once a great director is always a great director. Nonetheless, I think this is one of his weakest recent pictures because it was just so dull and the material felt recycled. With his masterful modern film "Match Point" that has the same premise and moral conundrums, there is absolutely no need to go that path again. Therefore, "Cassandra's Dream" was unnecessary and felt more like a nightmare; for a film that's about an hour and fifty-minutes, it felt much, much longer. I really like Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell but the characters they played made one stupid decision after another, not to mention they were difficult to empathize with because they claimed to "have to" do certain things when they really could have just walked away. The middle was bogged down with blase scenes to the point where it got distracting and almost glaringly frustrating. Overall, forty minutes into the film, I just wanted it to end and forget that Allen was directing the film. In fact, I don't remember much about what happened in the movie and I just saw it about three hours ago. Here's to hoping that Allen will stop the whole "morals and murder thing" and direct something fresh, something funny and insightful.

Dedication
[ 3 stars out of 4 ]

I really like this film because it's a big jump from typical romantic comedies out there. Instead of being too sweet and "too indie" or having that devil-may-care tone, this one tries to be a little darker and edgier (which sometimes showed a bit too much). Usually, I don't like movies that try too hard to impress but overall, this picture feels more organic than forced. I thoroughly enjoyed Billy Crudup and Mandy Moore's multi-layered performances. They were funny in their own self-pitying way, snarky, intelligent, and quirky to a flaw. Whenever both characters were interacting, it's like watching two damaged warriors battle: it was exciting as it was somewhat enriching. Moore is really good in this and I prefer her playing unlikeable women because she has that angelic look on the outside but could be conniving inside. As for the story, it does not follow a typical romantic comedy, which was a good move. But for me, its weakest point was the ending because it kind of surrendered all the deviance it accumulated. Still, there are a lot to recommend from this movie. It's so much better (and more depressing in a good way) than the likes of "Garden State" and "The Last Kiss."

Stephen who is described as being a man full of God's grace and power............. FULL OF God's GRACE AND POWER. Right there!

Certified Anger Management Facilitators (CAMF) throughout the nation are doing good and well. Trained anger management providers who use the Anderson & Anderson curriculum along with the Pre and Posttests are now able to objectively report the success of their intervention.

Yacine Bell, CAMF who practices in Oakland, CA. reports a 99% success rate with motivated anger management clients. She tells an interesting story about her one failure. I saw a 68 year old Catholic Nun who was referred for corporal punishment of a student. This client insisted that her approach to disciplining students has always worked and she was not willing to change.” Yacine explains that this was not really a failure since the client was simply not motivated to change.

Ms. Bell has also developed a protocol for providing assessments of new hires for Bay Area Businesses. She reports this activity to be the fastest growing aspect of her practice.

Dr. Thomas Wentz, CAMF who is a member of the Anderson & Anderson Training Faculty is developing a reputation as an effective anger management facilitator as well as a executive coach for disruptive physicians™. Goggle and the Joint Commission on The Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) routinely publish his blogs. Dr. Wentz is also the Editor of the upcoming Anderson & Anderson book, The Practice of Control, Executive Coaching/Anger Management for Physicians.

Family Harmony Armonia Familia with 9 locations in Los Angeles County has a major contract with the Los Angeles County Probation Department for most of the Camps for adolescent clients. Family Harmony is also the major provider of anger management for Spanish speaking clients in Los Angeles County.

Gregory Kyles, CAMF, President of Houston based Anger Management Institute is moving to expand its practice to include Batterers™ Intervention.

Anderson & Anderson is in negotiations with Terry Schmitz, President of The Conover Company to partner in new assessments components as well as intervention strategies for Civility Training and Emotional Intelligence.

The new Anderson & Anderson Executive Coaching book, The Practice of Control, Executive Coaching/Anger Management for Physicians in now in press. It will be available in late September. The level of interest, which is already being expressed, suggests that this book in destined to be a best seller.

It's the second year since I started trading options "thanks to" Kiyosaki's game, Cashflow 202. Given that some aspects of my life gave me lots of pride I thought I could easilly master the markets : that is called death by ego. As of today I am still dead but I am slowly realising that markets are not about money but about mastering yourself and understanding the beasts that are shown on your graphs. You have to listen to them, to emphatize and maybe, one day, to win them over. This is a rough path and I am lauching this blog to help me monitor my progress, structure my trading, share my experience and benefit from my readers' opinion.

I will be focusing on:

Personal Life (the vade mecum part of this blog) ;

Trades - good and bad ones.

News analysis ;

Reviews (books, websites, blogs, software, etc) ;

Forex market overview.

I do have some ambitions for this blog : It is a main element of my strategy on the path to the humble trader.

My fellow conspirator and blogger, One Ordinary Radical, talked about yin yang and balance in work

My fellow conspirator and blogger, One Ordinary Radical, talked about yin yang and balance in work and play on his blog a awhile ago. I answered a little, but then when looking for more on this topic and now I have blogged on yin yang.

The yin yang symbol has been adopted in western world in hippie and retro hippie culture. The image lingers today on temporary tattoos and surfboards. They show up on swim wear and guitars, doo rags and key chains. The ancient symbol of balance has been bastardized by free world consumeristic expression, as are many sacred symbols (case and point, are rhinestone crosses really the best expression of torturous crucifixion? probably not.) As often is when we make a dollar or a million on marketing Jesus or yin yang, often concepts surrounding these symbols become diluted and watered down. American markets are masters at manipulating concepts and practices into molds of our liking, often in the name of ‘free expression’ or freedom. But I digress.

A Yin Yang definition states:

"The yin yang is the easily recognized Taoist symbol of the interplay of forces in the universe. In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang represent the two primal cosmic forces in the universe. Yin (moon) is the receptive, passive, cold female force. Yang (sun) is masculine- force, movement, heat.

The Yin Yang symbol represents the idealized harmony of these forces; equilibrium in the universe. In ancient Taoist texts, white and black represent enlightenment and ignorance, respectively."
Yet in the black and white symbol of the ying yang are dangerous suppositions when associated to Christian life-balance.

Controlling Balance
As followers of Christ, Sabbath is part of the Judeo-Christian backdrop of our lives. Yes, according to the Bible, a time of rest should occur at regular intervals. Yes, Jesus practiced Sabbath, but Jesus also broke it often to help those in need. What does that say bout balancing work and play in our lives? Better yet, what are we categorizing as work vs. play? Where does service fit into that picture? In the Bible, there are debates in Jewish practices for what is considered work. Even today, centuries later, some groups of Jews thing work is turning on a light or walking anywhere.

I believe One Ordinary Radical's intent was work and play in the overall sense. I propose there is more to work than a job and there is more to rest or play than the ceasing of working at a job. In fact we are encouraged throughout the Bible to serve others countless times more than resting. In this instance the yin yang would not be an even balance of rest and play. You only have to look at Jesus’ life to see the imbalance of recreation time to working to bring heaven on earth.

Jesus’ view of heaven on earth is not Disney or Magic Mountain, white water rafting and watching movies or eating at an excellent restaurant. Heaven on earth feeds the hungry, gives a drink the to thirsty, clothes the naked, provides shelter and dignity for all. Truly, the needs of the poor and oppressed are simpler than vacations or nights out on the town. It comes right down to water, food, shelter and freedom from slavery/oppression and war. For that reason, I am for imbalance in my own life as I strive to be a part of God’s vision. In that vision I see less play and more work for the Kingdom here on earth that needs to be done for my fellow brothers and sisters at the most basic levels of quality of life.

God vs. Human
The Bible says it clearly from the start in the ‘wrongly controversial’ creation stories. (We should rely less on the literal story of creation and more on the POINT of them.) We see it in the Tower of Babel and throughout Kings and prophets. God is God and humans are not. As followers of Christ, we walk in the manner and life of Jesus, We aspire to become more Christ-like, to be ‘little Christs,” but in the end, we do not literally become another Jesus the Christ. Jesus was God and human. We will always still be human. For that basic reason, I trust my own judgment in life balance less than what God wants for me.

The scripture I’ve been chewing on for a couple of months is Micah 6:8 which says, “Seek justice, love mercy, walk humbly with your God.” Not a whole lot of resting in that statement. Some may argue that walking humbly means we are saying we are human by following Sabbath time and resting, learning that we are not god-like in our capacity. Even so, that is one third of the Micah scripture. Not equal in balance by any means. According to this scripture, clearly 2/3 of the time we are to be faithfully living out God’s vision of kingdom life in mercy and justice.

In the end, the yin yang of God vs. us should always favor the former and not the latter. Here the key in not the balance of listening to God and ourselves equally, but to solely listen to and depend on God for guidance. God’s relationship to us is not an equal balance on any level. God’s guidance that often ask us to work more than play, do more than we think we can, push us way past our own perceived limits to trust, do and follow the will of God much more than our own will.

I must live the imbalance of discipleship and what God wants in the world over my understanding of work/play (life) balance in my own personal space. For that reason, the yin yang doesn’t work well for me.

Just a few current imbalances we need to work and pray ceaselessly to make right.

* The average teenager spends $101 a week.
-- $101 would educate 2 African children for an entire year
* One dollar buys a soda or a bottle of water in the US.
-- One dollar gives person clean water for a year.
* Nearly three billion people world-wide live on less than $2 a day.
* Est. time reading this blog, 5 minutes. Number of people who have died during that time for lack of clean drinking water (1 every 15 seconds) = 20

(OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. – July 9, 2008 ) Health care is a high-stakes, pressure-packed environment that can test the limits of civility in the workplace. A new alert issued today by The Joint Commission warns that rude language and hostile behavior among health care professionals goes beyond being unpleasant and poses a serious threat to patient safety and the overall quality of care.

Intimidating and disruptive behaviors are such a serious issue that, in addition to addressing it in the new Sentinel Event Alert, The Joint Commission is introducing new standards requiring more than 15,000 accredited health care organizations to create a code of conduct that defines acceptable and unacceptable behaviors and to establish a formal process for managing unacceptable behavior. The new standards take effect January 1, 2009 for hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, laboratories, ambulatory care facilities, and behavioral health care facilities across the United States.

Health care leaders and caregivers have known for years that intimidating and disruptive behaviors are a serious problem. Verbal outbursts, condescending attitudes, refusing to take part in assigned duties and physical threats all create breakdowns in the teamwork, communication and collaboration necessary to deliver patient care. The Institute for Safe Medication Practices found that 40 percent of clinicians have kept quiet or remained passive during patient care events rather than question a known intimidator. To help put an end to once-accepted behaviors that put patients at risk, The Joint Commission Sentinel Event Alert urges health care organizations to take action.

“Most health care workers do their jobs with care, compassion and professionalism,” says Mark R. Chassin, M.D., M.P.P, M.P.H., president, The Joint Commission. “But sometimes professionalism breaks down and caregivers engage in behaviors that threaten patient safety. It is important for organizations to take a stand by clearly identifying such behaviors and refusing to tolerate them.”

To help put an end to intimidating and disruptive behaviors among physicians, nurses, pharmacists, therapists, support staff and administrators, the Sentinel Event Alert recommends that health care organizations take 11 specific steps, including the following:

• Educate all health care team members about professional behavior, including training in basics such as being courteous during telephone interactions, business etiquette and general people skills;

• Hold all team members accountable for modeling desirable behaviors, and enforce the code of conduct consistently and equitably;

• Establish a comprehensive approach to addressing intimidating and disruptive behaviors that includes a zero tolerance policy; strong involvement and support from physician leadership; reducing fears of retribution against those who report intimidating and disruptive behaviors; empathizing with and apologizing to patients and families who are involved in or witness intimidating or disruptive behaviors;

• Determine how and when disciplinary actions should begin; and

• Develop a system to detect and receive reports of unprofessional behavior, and use non-confrontational interaction strategies to address intimidating and disruptive behaviors within the context of an organizational commitment to the health and well-being of all staff and patients.

Addressing unprofessional behavior among health care professionals is part of a series of Alerts issued by the Joint Commission. Previous Alerts have addressed pediatric medication errors, wrong-site surgery, medication mix-ups, health care-associated infections and patient suicides, among others. The complete list and text of past issues of Sentinel Event Alert can be found on The Joint Commission’s website: http://www.jointcommission.org/SentinelEvents/SentinelEventAlert

JCAHO standards for physicians make a clear distinction between “disruptive physicians”, psychia

JCAHO standards for physicians make a clear distinction between “disruptive physicians”, psychiatrically impaired physicians, substance abusers and/or sexual abusers. Unfortunately, some resources for “disruptive physicians” demand that all participants undergo a formal psychiatric examination whixh includes projective tests.

While assessments for all of the above issues may be necessary, the mental health assessment should be limited to suspected cases of nervous or mental disorders rather than anger management. Anger is not listed as a DSM-IV Diagnostic Disorder. According to the American Psychiatric Association, anger is a lifestyle issue and is therefore not responsive to psychotherapy or psychiatric intervention.

A mandated psychiatric assessment places inappropriately referred physicians at risk of being entered into the National Practitioner Data Bank. Once a physician is listed in this data bank, it is almost impossible to get any information removed.

Unfortunately, the stigma against mental illness continues to exist and can damage the career of any physicians. Physicians ordered to attend Coaching for Anger Management should insist on a program that is not psychiatrically bases.

Many of us have at times sensed that something is wrong in the church and because of the continual deficiencies in our knowledge of scripture, deficiencies in our walk with God, deficiencies in our being able to hear the voice of God, and the fear of man we have suppressed or put aside these things, yet in our hearts these nudges of the Holy Spirit keep coming back time and again. So we have at times felt things, we have at times sensed things, but we have not necessarily known that now God has been speaking and guiding us. When we have sought help from a preacher or teacher we too often next have in time realized in some measure that what they tend speak not from a personal knowledge of God, from the leading of God but instead speak from the stale corn of other people books, tapes, and notes or their own views. And yet with these sweeping -general explanations these things we have known never really go away -- for the Holy Spirit still speaks to men and what we have already seen and heard of Him we do still believe God still speaks to men, and confers upon those that love Him and are obedient His tokens of His affection -- true gifts and true ministry. Next that Word becoming flesh (in us), a personal reality in many of our life experience, that can be "seen" and “handled” by those some of those called out persons that are around us.

"You are not to go to the left or to the right unless you hear a voice ( of the Holy Sprit) saying this is the way walk there in".. Many of us have not learned as to how to hear this voice .

God leads us in many ways, through his word, through people, but God will confirm his will for us still too. I have had often had to learn spiritual truths the hard way, by trying to do my own thing and failing at it, and Jesus reminding me that I could do nothing without him. Now I pray before I do anything and I await his instructions, if God does not lead me, or tells me not to do something, I tend not to do it. I had bought a pair summer shorts recently and I wanted to get matching T-shirt to it too.. I had tried a few stores but was unable to get the matching color that I had wanted. So I prayed about it and God told me not to look for it. I have learned he will deal with it his way and in his time. So I went along with my normal agendas. I had to go the drug store to get my medicine renewed so I did so. I was surprised to find the matching T-shirt, in the color I had wanted on sale at half price too in the drug store. After I pray I have come to learn to expect God will answer the prayer, I do not have to do it in my own strength.

It also now seems that unresolved problems tend to make us seek God. How to draw closer to God. You have wanted God to speak to you for a long time. You have wanted to talk to God and get answers back. This is an opportunity for you to have a dialogue with God. God too wants to communicate with you. You might have been in church, a crusade, in your room, or outside under the stars. You felt God's call, but you didn't know exactly what God wanted you to do. You knew you were going to do something special, but you didn't know what it was. Now you can also find out God's plan for you, and others too and the literature is all free too. It teaches you how to hear God's voice. God will teach you many things you need to know. Valid spiritual tools to help you make conscious contact with God: Praise, Prayer, Humbleness, Obedience, the Bible. Get yourself ready where God speaks to you

In the book of Psalms we find the expression of a yearning for God Himself; a cry from deep within our hearts, for something more in God. And in reality this is a response to God’s longing heart, His thirst for fellowship with men. That He might fill us to overflowing that we might come into a deep abiding personal relationship with Him and His Son Jesus Christ.

Psalm 84:2 My soul longeth yea fainteth for the courts of the Lord.

This is a longing for His presence and His anointing. This is a cry to walk in the Spirit. My friends, there is something higher, something purer in God that is available to us in this day and this very hour in which we walk. This longing for the Lord is the irresistible urge as expressed by those who so hunger and so thirst after God.

My heart and my flesh crieth out for the Living God Have you experienced this cry for Him to inhabit his people? Have you felt this yearning to be so clothed upon by the Spirit of God? This spiritual longing is far different than the cry of selfish earthly prayers of men.

Psalm 63:1 O lord Thou art my God Early will I seek thee. My Soul thirsteth for Thee. My flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land where no water is. This is so apart from the typical Christian experience. Are you so consumed with having this inner knowing of God? Do you so thirst that you will be satisfied with nothing less than knowing Him in all the fullness that can be known of him even as the apostles and the prophets of old so knew Him?

David said: “One thing have I desired of the Lord and that will I seek after . . . ” Many of this day are guilty of having divided hearts, so that they seek many things. They seek for their ministry. They seek for earthly riches. They seek for their own power. They seek to be seen of men. But there are those who seek God for himself. Believing that His fellowship, His presence, and His approbation are all the reward in itself.

David said: “As a hart panteth after the water brooks so panteth my soul after thee. . .” In out questing for the Lord we find ourselves running over hill and dale, running through mountains and valleys, panting and longing with our mouth wide open, pressing forward, stretching ourselves to reach His streams of living waters. Have you caught the scent of His living waters? I am told that a deer can smell water from miles away.

If you are willing to lay aside your own personal aspirations. If you are willing to close your wandering lustful eye. If you will reach out to Him with all your heart, you too can enter into this wondrous thirst -- and sup with Him and eating with Him of His secret manna and drinking with Him of His living waters.

Psalm 107:9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, (The Thirsty) and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

There is a terrific operation of the Spirit going on today to bring the Sons of God into an absolute confinement to the perfect will of God. This is the Day of His Preparation the day in which He is preparing the channel through which He shall pour forth His Glory for all the world to see. This channel is His Body in the earth that glorious company of people who are being conformed through much tribulation and fiery tests to the Image of the Son of God. This is His "battle axe and weapons of war" with which He shall subdue kingdoms and overcome all His enemies. This is His "mighty and strong One" to whom He shall commit the work of judging this world. This is His Overcomer, His "great army" with which He shall bring the nations into submission. The weapons of their warfare are not carnal, natural weapons but they are mighty weapons, mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. These are those who shall "be strong and do exploits."

But before God can commit this great and tremendous ministry into their hands they must submit themselves to the discipline of the Lord letting Him truly be the Lord of their entire lives.

“Fear thou not, for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness” (Isaiah 41:10).

How can I practice His abiding presence?

1) Wait on the Lord: Begin each day by rising up early and sit before Him. Consecrate your life afresh to be a part of His will and purpose in the earth. Ask Him to cleanse and forgive you, and to open your spirit to Him. Be aware of those things He has done for you and His answers to prayer. For the Lord truly appreciates being appreciated.

Have you ever come to the Lord just to sit in His presence and fellowship with Him? We can be so taken up with asking for things that we forget that He has personal feelings, too. You might feel strange if people only came to you when they wanted something.

2) Worship the Lord: Praise, the Bible states, is the fruit of our lips. At times our praise can become lip service rather than luscious fruit to God. This is something to be reckoned with. What is worship? Worship is that which cries out from deep within to bless the Lord. Praise can be singing to the Lord, but worship is singing before the Lord. “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him” (John 4:23). To come to this higher level requires a special creative working of God within us as we wait before Him. “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (II Cor. 3:18). Entering into a more vital worship and waiting in His presence is a life changing experience.

3) Meditating on God’s Word: “My meditation of Him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the Lord” (Ps 104:34). There is a sweetness in His presence, holding His word before Him during the day. The word “meditate” comes from an old English word which literally means, “to chew the cud,” to ponder, to turn over in one’s mind. When we meditate on His word, we receive a strength and an understanding that we cannot get otherwise. “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us. . .” (John 1:14). This is God’s very life and nature entering the depths of our being as we sit with Him meditating on His word!

4) Smell the Roses Along the Way: There is a saying that rings with meaning: “As you go throughout the garden of life, don’t forget to smell the roses along the way.” There are joys and many things to be experienced as we walk out our life in God. It is possible to get so busy that we lose the joy of our salvation, becoming too mechanical for simple things. But God hides Himself in simplicity. If we learn to enjoy where we are in God appreciating what God is doing with and in us, we will make much more progress in our Christian life.

克服事件 Overcoming events

OVERCOMING EVENTS

Weekly Knowledge 27 Bangalore Ashram 14 Dec 1995 India

All the problems that you face in life are because you attach over importance to the events. The events grow bigger while you remain smaller. Say, for example, you are riding a motorbike on a busy motor way and in front of you there is another vehicle emitting exhaust fumes. You have three options.

1. You can complain, somehow bear with it, and still follow the vehicle.

2. You can slow down or wait for some time to allow the vehicle to move far away from you.

3. You can use your skill, overtake the vehicle, and forget about it.

As in the first case, most of you stick on the events and are miserable, like inhaling fumes throughout your journey.

In the second case, you don't get permanent relief, as another bigger vehicle might come in front of you. Like that, running away from events is not the permanent solution.

However, wise people use their skill and grow over the events. If the vehicle is in perfect condition, the skill is effective. Conditioning the vehicle is sadhana or practice. And skill is the grace of the Guru.

The mistakes that you have made in the past have made you humble; you need not make mistakes in the future to become humble.

Jai Guru Dev

Luke 23:40-43

40 But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."
42 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."
43 Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."

This to me is one of the most hope giving passages in the Bible. Without even asking forgiveness the criminal hanging beside Jesus was forgiven. The criminal only asked to be remembered, but it can be seen from the passage that his heart had turned. He believed in Jesus, admitting his sin and guilt, speaking out for Jesus, and asking to be remembered. It was not the criminal's kind acts or righteous deeds that made the difference in his salvation; it was his heart. He was accepting of Christ, and humble in spirit.

Jesus extended grace, forgiveness, kindness, and everlasting life to a sinner, a sinner like me. In a fallen and imperfect world I will also fall to temptation and sin. I have made mistakes and will continue to make mistakes as I journey along the path to learning and embracing my Lord. I will be judged on what is in my heart, by reaching out to God and asking to be remembered. For a sinner like me this passage is all I cling to at times.

Mark Humble between sets singing 'Blackbird' - Magic Mountain VT - July 2008

I was standing next to Mark Humble in between sets at the Butties Silver Anniversary tour show at Magic Mountain VT, and 2 girls came up to him. They said they were fans, has seen the band play for years, and were hoping Mark would play 'Blackbird'. He politely declined - they had 77 songs all picked out, and I'm guessing with the set up and technical issues on some of the songs, you really have to do the set in that sequence.

The girls said it was a shame, because they loved it when he sang it last year, and they were hoping to hear him do it again.

Mark paused for a second, and then said... 'If you stay until the end of the concert, I'll play it for you then.' The girls were very excited, and let him prepare for the second set.

Now, I had just watched the band play a great set - the last time I saw them play was literally 25 years ago, and they've all grown as musicians since then. But it struck me that after all that time, they're very appreciative of the fans who have been coming for the last 10 years to Vermont to set them play. Pictures, autographs, anything. They're just happy to play for people - even after all this time.

So, it wasn't a surprise that before the 3rd set started, Mark picked up his guitar and started doing a solo rendition of 'Blackbird' for the 2 girls - they were feet away from him as he played. Half way through, Paul saw what he was doing, and started to add the bird sounds and other effects in the background. By the time he was finished, the band had taken their positions on stage, and the girls had a memory that they'll keep for a long time.

It's the little things that make the difference... and in that minute, the those fans felt like they were the only ones in the house...

Here's a little piece of the magic. Enjoy.

About five years ago, I had already been saved for about fifteen years, but I didn’t really believe that God loved me. One day I came across the verse:

Come to Me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. (Matt. 11:28-30)

These verses caught my attention. I felt very weary and burdened. And somehow by trusting and obeying God, He could give me rest? At that time, obeying Him only seemed like work and misery. But the part that most stuck out in my mind was that Jesus was “gentle and humble in heart”. Could that really be true that He is not a demanding taskmaster, as the enemy had led me to believe? (Actually that is the enemy.)

I decided to memorize those verses. I recalled them over and over during the next several years. Then God began to show me that He is gentle and humble, more than in my wildest imagination. It seemed too good to be true, but yet it is.

I learned that because He is gentle and humble with me, that I can trust Him. I have found out that He is safe with which to entrust my entire self. I can follow Him and obey. And I am much more content with my life now, than when I was trying to run it. Actually, this is the first time in my entire life that I am happy. I feel like I’m finally doing what I was meant to do.

I am so thankful, Father, that you are gentle and humble, and that I can trust You. What a relief! The God who has all power and control, is also a Gentle God. Praise You, Jesus.

Holy God,

We lift you up in praise. Be glorified here in our lives and our families. May your name be made great among us. We thank you for your transforming power, that you raise up men and women to Godliness. We thank you for our brothers and sisters who willingly give up of themselves to help us, and to help others. May we also glorify you in the same way. Work in each of us, drawing us closer to you, and conforming us more into your likeness. To you be all the glory, honor, and praise.

Tomorrow is my nanny walk for water. Thus far, one of my twenty invitees has confirmed that she'll be there. I'm beginning to think that God has something other than this planned for me to contribute to the well-building efforts in Africa. How can I have such a fire inside of me to make a difference, and then have my plans for raising money towards this passion have almost no interest shown towards it? Somehow, I feel that God's got something else in mind for me to do to contribute. The ironic thing in all this is that yesterday afternoon I pinched a nerve in my back, so now I'm walking like Frankenstein's monster. I'm supposed to walk four miles tomorrow. Maybe this is God's lesson to me... know what my limits are, but trust Him to show me the way to work towards His glory. I still need to be at the park tomorrow from 1-4, because I said I would. Even if none of my nanny club girls come out, maybe I'll run across others there, and be able to spark a fire in them to help. Maybe not. I don't know... everything good in my life has come from trusting God to lead me where He needs me to go.

Florida Healing Outpouring with Todd Bentley: 30 Reasons for Healing (16-30)

27 06 2008

First, Roy Fields is back! Others leading has been moving, but there is something about him that changes the atmosphere. Roy, welcome back. Second if you are in Lakeland Fl on the 4th of July there will be free food. From 4-7pm, next Friday there be a celebration with free food. This will also lead into a water Baptism service. I am just thrilled for both of these events. The first shows a desire to reach out to host community and give back to those who have given so much. As important, the second is another example of how Fresh Fire and Ignited are taking care and shepherding those who are making profession of faith under their leadership.

Another fun fact, there is now a medical doctor who is reviewing all the medical reports about healing. The desire for accountability and integrity is great in Lakeland. One of the assistants said there is a four step process for those who take the stage professing healing
1 Pastor volunteers from around the world, screen and test, those who claim to have received healing
2 This is then relayed to those who bring the person on stage, to ensure what is shared is consistent
3 After they are on the platform, a survey is filled out with symptoms, sign of healing and contacts.
4 FOLLOW UP! 1-2 weeks a phone call is made to see how they are doing.

Just some random quotes form Todd Bentley… he really does use the name of Jesus.
(This is just a sample, to show who the glory goes to)

“We are encouraging people to see doctors after healings. I believe in medicine”
“It is the power of Jesus. We are powerless without the power of the Holy Ghost
“Can we give thanks to Jesus for this.”
“We want to give all we can, leally, to the media to give the glory to Jesus.”
“We give all the glory to Jesus”
“Can we give Jesus all the glory tonight?”
while praying for healing, “Two new ankles in Jesus mighty name”

30 Reasons for Healings #16-30 (all verses NIV)

16. He does what he pleases – God is sovereign and healing happens because God chooses too.
17. Charitable Giving- (whole chapters but verses) Acts 9: 36 In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which, when translated, is Dorcas), who was always doing good and helping the poor and Acts10:2 He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly. Based on these verses miracles happens as a direct result of charitable giving. It would seem that when we take care of the pour, God reaches and extra measure of the miracles.
18. The Gospel – Mark 16:19-20 He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly. Healing is good news and, according to Todd, the Gospel is the power of God as well as the message of salvation
19. I am a friend of God’s – John 15:15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. God hears the prayers of His friends. What do you do for your “true” friends? The deeper the intimacy with God, the deeper the friendship. Is God your friend, because there seems to be many who understand Jehovah but do not understand Abba. Abba, is the characteristic of a deep personal relationship.
20. The Glory of God – John 11:4 When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.”
21. The cures of the Law – Romans 8:2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. Healings show that you free from the law of sin and death.
22. Desperation: Mark 5:27 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, Sometime people need a touch so bad they push trough to get it. “if only this small amount” They are the ones who are desperate enough to reach out and get healed

23. Connection locked up

24. Name of God – Exodus 15:26 He said, “If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.”

25. Communion – 1 Corinthians 11:29-30 For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself. 30That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. This would seem to be a reason why you are not, but if it bring sickness maybe it bring healing (my thought on it, time was short so the last were real quick)

26. Gift of the Spirit- There was no verse give to justify this, but 1 Corinthians12:9-109to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues.

27. The name of Jesus – Triune God, Jesus is God see #24

28. The nature of the Holy Spirit – God creates when the Holy Spirit the Holy Spirit moves. It was after Genesis 1:2 Now the earth was [a] formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. That God said, “Let there be light.” IF the Spirit lives with us, then he is moving, we should expect creation (new body parts is creation).
29. I am Saved – James 5:15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Faith is a gift of the Spirit and only saved people have this. So salvation, brings faith, faith brings healing. And, yes because Jesus forgave my sins.
30. Kingdom of God- Mathew 6:10 Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. There is no sickness in the Kingdom, God preformes creation in His kingdom, there are miricals in the Kingdom, let it be so here

These are the second half of the 30 reasons, each with scripture refrances. People you may not like Todd Bentley, but please be careful arguing against the word of God. For those around Todd, let him know I said “thanks for the teaching, it has meant a lot to me.”

On a personal note: I blew out my knee today, while walking down some stairs. It hurt to move or even put pressure on it. Tonight, during the broadcast, I WAS HEALED. Proof of this, I wrote this whole blog standing up.

http://allenwilson.wordpress.com/2008/06/27/florida-healing-outpouring-with-todd-bentley-30-reasons-for-healing-16-30/

As to bullies question to me.. ““are you ranting”… my how you like to bash, insult people.. you do not know them even well enough to falsely even try to judge them, your approach is quite immature and unspiritual too.. looking for a big fight cause someone had stepped on your sore toes.. I certainly hope you do not profess wrongfully to be a Christian to anyone, cause you do not act like it for sure… nor do I hope you abuse all the people like that who make a post here.. a sure way to next lose many people still too. Stay in God’s love and not rather in the flesh.. we may not agree, do have a right to differ, but we still do need to show love to the others. Need more input from me on the subject.. I have it detailed even on 5 internet sites.. "

It is very clear that the much too many false Critics of the Pentecostals will try to grasp at any straws to falsely bash the Pentecostal and still try to justify their immoral acts.. Any Christian being plagued with critics, opponents, unsubstantiated personal attacks too now, is really nothing new even to the past apostles, prophets , Jesus Christ himself who have face many similar bullies, groups etc., the devil is too ready an accuser of the Brethren, and tries to continually discredit any work of God even since the time of Jesus Christ himself now too even using inapplicable and distorted Biblical reasons and Bible verses now too I also would not take any criticism even seriously by persons who admittedly even admit they are opposed to all charismatic’s gifts, speaking in tongues included, and the persons who do not acknowledge even themselves now having never received a clear, specific baptism of the Holy Spirit firstly, and also especially when also they themselves have not attended these meetings, or the meetings any of of the latter rain churches.. A MAJORITY OF THE CRITICS OF THE LATTER DAY REVIVALS, are too clearly their often diverting back wrongfully the topic discussions, making often personal insulting, unacceptable derogatory remarks is even THEIR typical unChristlike bulling Reponses, self righteous, a superiority attitude, and what else? is not the right approach from anyone and it does continue to reflect poorly on ALL OF THEM STILL too… THE WAY THEY THEMSELVES DO UNDENIABLY POINT FINGERS AT THEIR SELF DEFINED OPPONENTS, IN A JUDGMENTAL MANNER, UNLOVING, UNKIND, UNJUSTIFIABLE MANNER IS CLEARLY THE MORE IMPORTANT ISSUE NOW TOO. And very revealing what they are firstly like themselves
http://anyonecare.wordpress.com/2008/06/23/understanding-me-and-others-better/

"I have read in the last month every wordpress site, and many others sites openly bashing, abusing, slandering the Florida revival, Todd, the latter day Pentecostals and yet to date I personally have not read, seen one valid criticism, decent presentation at all.. what a great shocker.. It all seems more like little immature, jealous kids still fighting over which one of them will be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven and who will be last.. what a real absurdity.

Don't get desperate but get real... like I have rightfully said I also would not take any criticism even seriously by persons who admittedly even admit they are opposed to all charismatic’s gifts, speaking in tongues included, and the persons who do not acknowledge even themselves now having never received a clear, specific baptism of the Holy Spirit firstly, and also especially when also they themselves have not attended these meetings, or the meetings of any of the latter rain churches..

I did not say Charismatic supposedly churches.. cause we know those often mean rather the Catholic Pentecostals..

as to what the Bible says is only how you here do interpret it.. not the Holy Spirit.

I have been a Christian for 50 years and a Pentecostal pastor for the last 30 years, and I have attended the latter day churches too and often.. and specifically what about you? not the supposed others..

The Latter Rain movement was rejected by the AoG Pentecostals in 1948 as heretical... and they are speaking for God now.. dream on.. There are other pentacostal denominations who support them, approve of them, me included.

The full Gospel Business Men's fellowship uses a similar approach for decades now too.

many persons bashing other Pentecostals with clearly a hidden agenda is still the wrong thing to do now too.. they are not doing it in love or humility Cleary as required by the Bible now too. "

Evangelical Fundamentalism too often also replaces the worship of God , the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ with the sole worship of the Bible, bypassing the works of the Holy Spirit it seems, though most Fundamentalists will deny that. Liberalism, too, replaces the worship of God, and of the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ with the worship of something else. In the case of Liberalism, however, the worship of God was replaced by the worship of mere human reason , and both groups are not that far apart, for they are are in error.

Fundamentalists worship every word and letter in the Bible. Actually, they worship their own private interpretation of scripture (compare 2 Peter 1:20). This is the same error that the Pharisees fell into. They ended up worshiping Torah more than God, and, even more than Torah, they worshiped their own interpretations (and the interpretations of the elders) of Torah. (They still do so today, only now they have codified those traditions into the Talmud.) Likewise, so do Fundamentalists worship their own interpretation of Scripture. In both cases, “they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever.” (Romans 1:25).

Fundamentalists and Liberals too need to learn the truth of 2 Corinthians 3:6, “Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” They need to seek God in SPIRIT and in Truth. Liberals need to learn the truth of John 4:23 (quoted above) and of John 6:63, “The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.” They need to seek God in Spirit and in TRUTH. http://jmm.aaa.net.au/articles/12941.htm

   http://anyonecare.wordpress.com/2008/06/29/hard-to-tell-the-difference/

Reality! These days it is too hard to tell the difference between secular persons and even evangelical pastors, they seem to do the same bad things too

And when I see shallow arguments of anyone still limiting today as to what God can do, even through us, EVEN ABOUT HEALING, it makes me rightfully also think how shallow their Christian faith now really is.. they are still babies in the Lord and need someone to teach them the whole truth, the whole , full gospel too, for my God can do anything, Jesus is the same , yesterday, today and forever.

ON TOP OF THAT I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW SO MANY OF THESE SAME PERSONS PERSONS ALSO FALSEY RISE TO DEFEND SMOKING, WINE, ALCOHOL AS WELL AND WORKFULLY DENY IT IS SINFUL.. "Spurgeon was once asked when he would quit smoking cigars. He replied, “When it becomes a problem.” He was then asked, “When will it become a problem?” To which he replied, “When I smoke two at a time.” AND look at all the false justifications for Spurgeon’s sin.. and do see also alcoholism the unacceptable sin

When you talk about what the scriptures says you honestly should also point out that you mean it is how you now interpret what the scripture says.. cause too many of us read different things out of the same scriptures as we all do know firstly..

The people who also tell us to use only the Bible often still lie further to us.. they ask us also to use men’s commentaries, instead of the Holy spirit to next interpret the Bible.

(Eph 4:18 KJV) Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

I tend to look at both sides of the issues myself.. for that matter I have now been both non Christian, and Christian, both Baptist and Pentecostal, and both groups still do have major errors, weakness, inadequacies, and they now also have some good points too.. but still there is no such thing as a perfect denomination now as well

But one other thing often is clearly is evident to me visiting, reading the many so called Professing Christians sites mostly all telling us the supposed truth, postings often more with dishonest hidden agendas, poorly researched too, very biased now too.. It also seems to me they are also still are trying to convince themselves as to what is the truth is and no one else, they build up their own false straw arguments, and then do reply to their own arguments. It is generally too often now not an honest presentation, discussion of the topic they have presented.

>>Pastors are going there by the droves. I know one personally. He went to Toronto to bring some of “it” back and he’s done the same thing with Lakeland. I think he thinks this will be the answer to filling the seats in his church, "

Did he really tell you that or are you in truth distorting, lying, falsely judging him and many others cause you are a controling person ?

I see nothing wrong in going there and I am real Christian now too

http://christiantheology.wordpress.com/2008/06/30/depart-from-me-i-never-knew-you/

The nonconformer replied "I never knew you, is not a criticism by Jesus that the healings, miracles done by the person(s) were false.. but a true statement that they really never knew Jesus fully or personally, it seems to apply to you now firstly too.

You are so sensitive to others being supposedly false, cause you clearly are false, now take the beam out of your own eye first.. Someone is wrong here and I don’t think it is that difficult (except perhaps for you) to determine who that is and that is you.. for you do twist Bible verses, slander, falsely quickly bash others to suit your own views..

Clearly Judas was an Apostle, better look at the definition of an Apostle, an Apostle is not an unchristian person.. and he was next replaced in the book of acts by another Apostle. The fact that Jesus knew that Judas would betray him does not mean he was not anointed.. but first better look at the meaning of the word anointed now.. one who evidences the Holy spirit.. with signs and wonders Acts 10:38

If you do not let the Holy spirit lead you as to what a verse actually means you are part of the Blind leading the blind now, forget trying to say the scripture cannot be wrong, rather you are wrong.. "You throw the term free will around as if it does not need to be defined. " and yet you clearly in desperation rebuttal quoted back a verse that has nothing to do with one's free will.

"You have contradicted now three times the Word of Jesus," and what a further false and wrong, judgmental act on your part too, you so easily condemn a person whom you do not know, never met, another real Christian, a real christian now over 50 years too, and I have been pastoring now for over 3 decades as a Pentecostal pastor too. So get a real life. Really do get Jesus."

Why is it so many people try too limit the power of God, and they work so hard to try to tell us what God can and cannot do today.. for sure, definitely it is not only cause they are spiritually immature, have a hidden agenda, are promoting themselves, or they are unoriginal parrots who repeat what others have said , but it is often still mainly because Satan for sure is behind all this too.

http://postedat.wordpress.com/2008/07/04/discern-it/

Evangelical fundamental parrots often need to quote someone else cause they do not know the Holy spIrit well enough to let him lead them, even the truth about healing.
All Israel Shall Be Saved?
by Steve Wohlberg
Romans 11:26 says, “And so all Israel will be sav

All Israel Shall Be Saved?

by Steve Wohlberg

Romans 11:26 says, "And so all Israel will be saved." What does this mean?

Obviously, it doesn't mean every Jew will be saved. In fact, the same chapter says God hopes to "save some of them" (vs. 14). Judas was a Jew, yet we know he will be lost for betraying Christ. Jesus called him, "the son of perdition" (John 17:12). Jesus told many Jews, "If you do not believe I am He [the Messiah], you will die in your sins" (John 8:24). Not every Jew believes in Jesus Christ, thus many will "die in their sins" and be lost.

Many Christians today interpret Romans 11:26 as applying to the end of the seven-year tribulation when Jesus appears in the clouds at His Second Coming. In other words, they don't apply the verse to all Jews throughout history, but only to "all Jews" who are alive at the end. Supposedly, at the end of the tribulation, all remaining Jews in Israel will look up, see Christ coming in the clouds, realize He is the true Messiah, believe in Him, and thus "All Israel will be saved."

This is a false teaching, as I will attempt to show.

First, the context of Romans 11 is not the Second Coming.

"There is no partiality with God" (Romans 2:5-11). It would be an act of partiality to save "all Jews" at the end, but not "all Jews" in history. The idea is, "When all final Jews see Christ coming in the clouds, then they will believe." But this would give those final Jews a supposedly irresistible opportunity to believe in Jesus Christ which past Jews have not had. Nor would this be fair to "all Gentiles" living at the end. Why would God save all Jews at the end but not all Gentiles? All Gentiles will see Jesus coming just like all Jews.

When Christ finally appears in the clouds, IT'S TOO LATE TO BELIEVE IN HIM. Rev. 22:11,12 says that before He comes in the clouds, all decisions have already been made. Jesus said it will be like Noah's day (Mat. 24:37-39). In Noah's day the door of the ark closed before the flood came (Gen. 7:16). When the flood came, it was too late. To save all Jews AT THE SECOND COMING would be like saving all those outside the ark WHEN THE RAIN STARTED FALLING.

When Jesus comes in the clouds, this is the time of judgment upon ALL unbelievers who don't know God nor obey the gospel (2 Thess. 1:7-10; Jude 14,15).

So what does this mean, "All Israel shall be saved"? First of all, Romans 9:6 says there are two Israels. one is an Israel according to the flesh (Romans 9:3,4) and the other is the Israel of God (Galatians 6:14-16). The Israel of God is composed of both Jews and Gentiles who believe in Jesus Christ (Gal. 3:29). Gentiles who believe are grafted in. They become part of the "same body" with believing Jews (Eph. 3:6). Paul calls this unity of believing Jews and Gentiles, "the mystery of Christ" (Eph. 3:4).

The immediate context of Romans 11:26 is vs. 25. When "the fullness of the Gentiles has come in," then "all Israel will be saved." Or, to be exact, "And so all Israel will be saved." In other words, the coming in of the fullness or total number of the Gentiles results in "all Israel" being saved. Paul's idea seems to be that when all Gentiles (totally, throughout history) have come in, that is, have been grafted into the Vine, they, uniting with all Jews who have become believers, will form the total number of the saved. Paul also reveals that when Gentiles come in, God can use this to motivate some Jews to believe (verses 11 & 14). Vs. 25 calls this whole thing, "this mystery," which we have already proven to be the "mystery" of both Jews and Gentiles being united in one body through Christ (Eph. 3:4,6). Vs. 27 says all are saved because Christ takes away their sins through His covenant, which must be the New Covenant, which applies to all believers, Jew and Gentile. Thus the "all Israel" that is saved is the total group of believing Gentiles and Jews combined.

The "all Israel that is saved" does not apply to all Jews throughout history, nor can it apply to a select favored group who become instant believers when Jesus Christ comes crashing down through the sky. By that time, it is too late to believe.

A great way to introduce videoconferencing is through the field trip format. In one of my schools, once the teachers saw what one teacher experienced, others start to jump on board. The first time or two, holding hands is helpful to raise the teacher's comfort level. Creating a district web site to promote and advertise events helps teachers know one location to use as a jumping off place to find events. One of the bestways to share is to invite a parent ortwo to an event. The parents get as excited as the students!

Some of you may or may not know this, but STATIC Youth is a corporation that is currently in its inf

Some of you may or may not know this, but STATIC Youth is a corporation that is currently in its infancy stage. We are developing a dynamic and innovative middle school aged education/ministry program. We (my partner Theresa and I) have written all the text books and activities for this program. We push ourselves out of our own comfort zone, and place ourselves in the shoes of the youth, seeing the program and God from their eyes. What a humbling experience.

I do not tell you this to get accolades, I tell you this so I can talk about another gift God has given me. In the process of creating this program, I have had to learn how to write, how to compromise and how to deal with people I really do not want to deal with. God has placed me in many situations that really where not comfortable for me, but I survived. Parents who do not understand what STATIC Youth is all about, they are still looking for the old fashion way of reaching our youth. Looking for the traditional books and homework, well STATIC tossed all that. Yes we stay true to the teachings of the church, I would have to say more than any other program I have used, and I have been teaching middle school religion for over 18 years now. Our main book in the Holy Bible, our kids use the Catechism of the Catholic Church and concordances, they are required to create their own service project and we place on them the responsibility of their faith. We call them in to the Church through a 3 year Confirmation process (6th thru 8th grade) and challenge them to except their faith as their own, no longer that of their parents.

Dealing with middle school age youth can be and is a challenge, dealing with the parents of the youth can sometimes seem even more challenging and working with others on a highly creative and fast pace project has its own set of challenges. God has set before me a set of challenges that often times try me to the end. When things go too smoothly for too long, I know God is just letting me rest for the big one just around the corner.

It is the way of God, it is sort of funny, He gives you a gift freely, but there is always a hook. To me he has given many gifts, and STATIC is one of them, but man this hook can really hold you down sometimes, or so it seems to me. In reality I know that God never holds me down, but rather it is my own human nature that does. I am my own weight, I keep me from flying as God wants me to, I set in to my skin each and every hook that keeps me tethered to this earth, keeps me from flying to new heights daily.

The challenges God places before us are not hooks, they are not to slow us down or to discourage us, they are launch pads for us to jump off of and fly, to spread our wings and achieve new and exciting things. They allow us to praise God from new places and to see the world new once again.

This is the gift God has offered me, and I have taken the challenge of it. Static may or may not become the next new thing in education (although I do believe it will) we may fail at this, in the worlds eyes, but I know God has great things planned for me, and STATIC is a part of it all.

Paul
