Wie dem auch sei ... um nun auf diese Bedarfszahlen zu kommen, ist eine Umfrage PFLICHT und vorher (also in der Vorlage) wird natürlich schon einmal geschätzt. Darin hat die Stadtverwaltung immer geschrieben, dass in man sich an Hannover messe und Hannover eine IGS-Quote von 25% hat, d.h. 25% aller SchülerInnen eines 4. Jahrgangs würden die 5. Klasse in einer IGS besuchen wollen. Ich persönlich finde ja, dass 25% schon anständig ist, aber das reicht leider für Lehrte nicht, da man bei einer Quote von 25% weit unter den erforderlichen 135 SchülerInnen bleiben würde. Das hat die Verwaltung auch so in die Vorlage geschrieben und trotzdem die Umfrage und Einrichtung befürwortet. Warum auch immer!

Nun aber, und das motiviert doch ein bisschen, wird langsam deutlich, was es mit den 25% auf sich hat. Diese Zahl ist entstanden aus den REALEN ÜBERGANGSQUOTEN. Da aber alle lesen konnten, dass Hannoversche IGSen zahlreiche SchülerInnen ablehnen mussten, ist von einem höheren Bedarf auszugehen und genau dieser wurde nun endlich auch in einer Abfrage (so wie in Lehrte geplant) ermittelt:

44% aller Eltern würden Ihr Kind auf eine IGS geben (bei Platzangeboten für 25%)

Die HAZ hat was von 40% geschrieben, aber das ist auch schon nicht wenig. Wenn diese Zahl auch nur annähernd in Lehrte erreicht wird, dann dürfte dem Projekt IGS Schule am Ried nichts mehr im Wege stehen.

Direkt nach den Herbstferien beginnt die Stadt mit der Umfrage und man kann nur allen empfehlen, die dazu gehörigen Info-Veranstaltungen zu besuchen. Leider hat es die Stadt Lehrte bisher nicht geschafft, auf ihrer eigenen Internetseite die Termine dafür einzustellen, deshalb heißt es nun "Ohren und Augen auf".

One game that I was particularly interested in was Power Boat by IMOtion. They had a video of the game at ASI (which I have been trying to get a hold of since March) and it definently has changed since then - the cabinet is different and I know that they were working on tweaking the gameplay a little more to make it like HydroThunder. I'm not sure when this will come out but a modern HydroThunder-llike game with a motion base cabinet will probably do well in arcades. Is it me or do these look a little like RaceTV cabinets? Also they have made a new cabinet for Panzer Elite Action. I hope to have some more on Power Boat here shortly.

IGS was there in force, showing off games that I'd love to see them release through American Alpha, their US branch but most likely I'd have to import these games. They had the scrolling fighter Oriental Legend 2 there and Pirate Revenge which we've mentioned before. Also Speed Driver 2 was there, one of the few IGS games to use full 3D.

Konami's Jubeat was at the show. We've discussed this one before, I just wonder if they'll attempt to release it in the US/UK anytime soon.

Tank Adventure by Tecway Developments was at the show, it reminds a little bit of Sega's tank game from '94 (which name escapes me at the moment). I wonder if they have fixed the frame rate issues on this one - if so it looks like a fun game (I posted a video of Tank Adventure some time ago)

Here's an interesting one called Go Go Jockey. I'm not sure who makes it, perhaps IGS since they have another game with GoGo in the title but it's next to Drum Party which is a Tecway Developmets game. Either way, until someone makes a motion sensing horse riding controller for the Wii, this is certainly fun to see.

Here's the Delta32 cabinet which was shown at AOU2008 I believe. Looks like a nice new candy cab.

We can't forget Tekken 6, which is feasible to show everywhere but the US and the UK.

And finally we have a look at the Street Fighter II Action, which is made for casinos - I saw a press release about this a few weeks ago but didn't post anything since they didn't bother to include a picture of it on the site. I assume that this is what it was that Cryptologic was talking about.

When I went to ASI I was hoping to see something new from American Alpha, the US wing of the Taiwan-based  company, IGS. IGS has a particular flare for releasing games with 2D graphics and has some cool games that I would love to see officially released in the US such as Oriental Legend 2 and Pirate Revenge. Unfortunately American Alpha only focuses on video redemption games and only seems to import games that would do well as a redemption game and not as a stand-alone video title so if you want those aforementioned games in the US and I imagine elsewhere outside of Asia, you'll have to rely on importing them. What also baffles me is that they have an English site for Oriental Legend 2 - why bother with that unless you were going to release it in the UK, US or Canada? (If you can't tell, I'd love to get my hands on this game, it looks like an excellent beat 'em up). According to the main IGS site, they will be at an event called GTI2008 and in addition to showing off OL2, they will be demonstrating some other games including a new racing simulator called Speed Driver 2 and Go Go Ball SD. Speed Driver 2 is actually a 3D game (somewhat rare amongst their other games) although it reminds me of InitialD4 or D1GP for some reason. I have seen something like Go Go Ball SD before where you actually throw balls at the screen and they basically serve as the controller. They say that GoGo Ball SD with have a ticket pay-out feature so perhaps it will make it to the US.

In other news, if you live in Latin America, it looks like you won't have to worry about importing IGS games for much longer. IGS has announced that they will begin releasing their arcade games in Latin America, which according to the press release includes the countries of  Columbia, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, and Panama. It's unclear if that will include other countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Guatemala, etc. but it looks like they are looking for countries that don't have strict regulation on the operation of arcade machines (from what I know of Brazil they don't have such regulations but then again I never looked into what it would take to operate and arcade there but arcades did seem somewhat abundant in the cities there that I visited/lived in).

We'll have to see if IGS releases some of their more hardcore games in these countries or not but we should know soon as they say that they will begin releasing games in Q2 2008, which happens to end next month.

j'ai mis "vendu" entre guillements car seule l'enquête déterminera comment cet argent est arrivé sur le compte de cet homme...les méthodes utilisées par certains corrupteurs sont souvent très pernicieuses et malicieuses...les dites méthodes n'ont rien à envier à celles utilisées par le monde de l'espionnage ... l'amitié accompagnée de cadeaux en est un des ressorts...les femmes, le Jeu en sont d'autres (par exemple)...
