En la entrada probablemente más importante de mi blog, Cómo Comenzar un blog decía, hace ya casi un año:

Ignora los términos que están de última moda. Si tienes una de estas palabras o siglas [como RSS] zumbando en tu cabeza y no estás seguro/a de si pertenece o no a la lista de “ignorar”, asume que sí pertenece. No te preocupes, más adelante tendrás tiempo más que suficiente de aclarar cada uno de estos términos, como Dios manda.

32 entradas más tarde, ha llegado ese "más adelante".

Aclarar las palabras feed y RSS me ha llevado –lo crean o no– más de 8 horas de trabajo. Y ha resultado completamente imposible hacerlo en español. Uno de los problemas parece ser la confusión o identificación que parece haber entre ambos términos.

Sin embargo, al final resultaron ser conceptos extremadamente simples. Así reconocí que había encontrado la Verdad en cuanto a ellos. ;-)

Qué es un feed

Un feed es simplemente una versión abreviada de una página web (como el "Home" de tu blog), creada para compartir su contenido con otros sitios web. Tiene la forma de un archivo diseñado para ser leído por máquinas, más que por personas.

Una característica del feed es que se actualiza constantemente con lo que se publica o se comenta en tu blog. Contiene lo que escribes, incluyendo tus imágenes y enlaces, pero sin el diseño.

¿Quieres ver un feed, tu propio feed? Abre una nueva ventana o pestaña en tu navegador y escribe el URL de tu blog, seguido de "/feed". Es decir, http:// elnombredetublog.wordpress.com /feed (sin los espacios). Y... Voilà! Ahí lo tienes. Eso es un feed, tu feed.

Si tu blog tiene más de dos meses de edad, si está abierto al mundo y si publicas al menos una vez a la semana; créeme, más de alguien lee tu feed. Si quieres, puedes jugar un poco con él en este punto, para ganar cierta familiaridad y control, que regularmente acompañan la comprensión. En tu Panel de Control –> Configuraciones (Settings) –> Lectura están las 3 opciones para tu feed.

• En la opción "Syndication feeds show the most recent ___ posts" (Los feeds publicados muestran las ___ entradas más recientes) determinas cuántas entradas quieres que se vean en tu feed.
• En la opción "Para cada artículo en un feed, mostrar...", decides si quieres que tu feed muestre las entradas completas o sólo los primeros párrafos.
• En la opción "For each article in an enhanced feed, show..." (En cada artículo de feed "mejorado" mostrar:...) puedes escoger si mostrar o no en cada artículo a los lectores de tu feed: tus categorías, tags, número de comentarios, y opciones para añadir tu feed a cuatro "lectores de feeds" (hablaremos sobre esto en un minuto).

Prueba cambiar algunas de las opciones para que veas lo que hacen. No olvides presionar el botón "Guardar cambios" antes de ir a la parte visible de tu blog a mirar cómo se ven.

Finalmente, para terminar la aclaración del término, cuando hablamos de la palabra feed en términos de la web, la usamos siempre como sustantivo: decimos "un feed", o "tu feed". Feed, como sustantivo –contrario a lo que se propaga en las definiciones comunes en español el Internet– no es "alimentar" ni "alimentación". Ese es su uso como verbo en inglés.

Feed como sustantivo, significa "pienso", es decir, alimento para ganado. Y creo que el término, aunque un poco insultante para los humanos, es bastante descriptivo de lo que hace un feed. Tendrás mayor realidad sobre este pequeño chiste cuando te descubras a ti mismo/a horas de horas frente a tu pantalla masticando contenidos web en tu flamante lector de feeds. Espero que te rías en ese momento. :-)

Para qué sirven los feeds

Los feeds por sí solos no tienen mucha utilidad. A muy pocas personas se les ocurriría que es mejor leer un blog en forma de feed que en su forma original. La palabra "UN" es la clave aquí. Los feeds sirven para leer MUCHOS blogs, no uno.

Existen unos programas especiales que se llaman "lectores" (readers) o "agregadores", donde en una sola página web puedes leer todos tus blogs favoritos. Otros sitios que no son blogs, pero se actualizan frecuentemente, como de noticias, etc., también disponen de feeds que puedes agregar a tu lector.

Estos lectores te permiten escoger tus cinco, veinte o trescientos sesenta blogs favoritos y leerlos desde una sóla página... en forma de feed. Esto te ahorra bastante tiempo porque te evita tener que visitar a diario tus cinco, veinte o trescientos sesenta blogs y sitios favoritos para ver si hay novedades. Sólo vas a uno: tu lector, y allí lo tienes todo. Además, los lectores de feeds te permiten compartir las entradas de tus blogs favoritos con tus amigos y también tienen otras funciones, pero dejaré que las descubras por ti mismo/a.

WordPress recomienda el lector de Bloglines. Yo lo he usado, es muy bueno y brinda muchísimas opciones. Sin embargo, en mi opinión, el más sencillo de usar (aunque resulta un poco limitado) es el lector de Google. Para que tengas una mejor idea, en este enlace tienes un mini-tour por este lector, y en este otro enlace, tienes mis feeds compartidos en el lector de Google.

Por alguna razón desconocida para mí, estos lectores no pueden leer los sitios en su forma original. Los necesitan en forma de feed. Y uno de los formatos más comunes que permite a estos lectores "leer" los feeds tan pronto se publican y presentártelo para que tú también lo leas, se llama RSS.

Qué es RSS

Entonces, los feeds están escritos principalmente en un formato llamado RSS. También se escriben en otros formatos con nombres igualmente "simpáticos", como Atom.

RSS es una sigla muy especial, ya que significa diferentes cosas. Así mismo. Aunque no lo creas. Y en diferentes fuentes en la Web, se dice "que hay una discusión al respecto", o que "significa 4 cosas diferentes según el grado de actualización del formato", o que "hay ciertas preferencias con respecto a su significado".

Como puedes imaginarte (si me conoces), te daré un solo significado. Si dentro de un par de años los geeks se ponen de acuerdo y RSS llega a significar algo diferente a lo que te voy a decir o aparecen nuevos significados, pues ya tienes algo de lo que puedes culparme si quieres.

RSS es la sigla de "Sindicación Realmente Simple". (Really Simple Syndication).

Ahora bien, la palabra "sindicación" es un poquitín difícil.

En primer lugar, resulta ser (al menos en lo que respecta a su uso en la redifusión de contenidos en los medios de comunicación) un barbarismo, es decir "un extranjerismo no incorporado totalmente al idioma", según la Real Academia. Por esta razón, en español debería usarse "Redifusión". Pero esto significaría cambiar "RSS", por "RRS" en español, con lo cual todo se complicaría más aún.

En segundo lugar, aunque proviene originalmente de misma raíz griega de palabras muy comunes de nuestro idioma, como sindicato, no significa lo mismo.

Syndication en inglés tiene un uso especializado bastante particular, que no existe en español. Y esta acepción de la palabra, que es la que se aplica en este caso, se refiere al campo del periodismo. Significa vender (un artículo o tira cómica) para ser publicados en muchas revistas o periódicos a la vez. Por ejemplo, "el reportero recibió un buen ingreso por la "sindicación" de su último artículo".

En tercer lugar y finalmente, su origen griego σύνδικος (syndikos), se compone por las voces syn: en conjunto; dik: justicia; y os: sufijo de género masculino; en otras palabras un magistrado civil u otro oficial gubernamental similar. Y, pues, naturalmente, uno tiende a quedarse en la luna, ya que esto no parece tener nada que ver con periodismo.... Pero qué le vamos a hacer. Así discurren y evolucionan a menudo los laberintos conceptuales de las palabras a través de los siglos... Amén.

Como les contaba al comienzo de esta entrada que ya va siendo demasiado extensa, para rematar la confusión, a menudo se usa el concepto "feed RSS" para decir por igual "feed" o "RSS". El simbolito naranja que parece un chicle gordito y que aparece al comienzo y por todas partes en los blogs, también se asocia indistintamente con feed y con RSS.

Sin embargo, espero que con esta entrada puedan disiparse mínimamente las confusiones y los misterios. Sólo mantén en mente el dato estable que dice: Un feed es un documento escrito en formato RSS. Si espero demasiado, déjame tus preguntas y con gusto te responderé lo antes posible.

The hacker allegedly wanted to highlight Chile's lack of data security

A computer hacker in Chile has published confidential records belonging to six million people on the internet, officials say.

The information was obtained by hacking into government and military servers, and was posted on a technology blog.

It included ID card numbers, addresses, telephone numbers and academic records.

The hacker left a message saying the aim was to demonstrate the poor level of data protection in Chile, says the newspaper which uncovered the story.

El Mercurio newspaper reports that the data came from computer servers at the education ministry, the military and the electoral service.

It was posted on the forum of a Chilean blog dedicated to technology issues, but was quickly removed by site's administrators, who contacted the police.

Links to files containing the information were also posted on another Chilean website, and again promptly removed, El Mercurio reports.

Police commissioner Jaime Jara told the newspaper that an investigation into the incident was under way.

What are these

First Bell tells me I can't get DSL here. Initially I accepted that and took their second option which turns out to be wireless transmission from their central office over on Atwater. Well the signal is crappy and inconsistent, move the receiver a millimetre and it loses the signal, not to mention I have to put it in the window upstairs which is incredibly inconvenient. Even without touching it the bandwidth wobbles around wildly and I've had two outtages within the first week. Great job Bell.

Enter Videotron. The installer showed up today then couldn't find the cable box. Now in all fairness I understand that this building is kind of hodge podge, but, you'd think that after the first half dozen installs that Videotron might set things up properly, or at least have comments on file attached to the address explaining what's going on. After wandering around with the installer for an hour he finally left without having done anything.

Then I start the research, and this is where I really start to see the shady undertones of the whole thing, that is on top of the total incompetence of the major players.

I can't get Limewire or SoulSeek to work on my Internet connection, because Bell/Sympatico blocks them. A bit of research reveals that pretty much all the major players are "shaping" or "throttling" Internet traffic with impunity deciding what you can and can't do and how much you can do it. Self imposed data police. Great.

Of course it gets even better. In the spirit of competition Bell and Rogers and their ilk are obligated to let independents play on their systems as well. Unfortunately they're continuing to shape and throttle the accounts of users under their competitors - which kind of eliminates the point of competition and creates a... dare I say it... a duopoly cartel that can use its muscle to keep anyone else from getting a foot in the door.

And it gets better. People switching from say Bell to an independent ISP frequently find their speed drastically reduced, even though their Internet is coming from the exact same infrastructure. That's right Bell "accidentally" changes your circuit to a slower setting. Oops.

The more I read the more disgusted I get.

So I'm cancelling both Bell and Videotron and going with Teksavy. Sure its coming from Bell copper, but at least they only get part of the money.

Oh, did I mention that it took Bell over two weeks to get my Internet to me in the first place? Bra-fucking-vo.

4. Tenías muuuchos años sin ver a mi abuela materna, y para este 10 de Mayo la visité, sigue igual que antes, vi a muchos de mis tíos y a sus hijos nuevos cuyos nombres no me sé o no me acuerdo. No sé, pero estuvo chido haberlos visitado, no me divertí ni nada pero estuvo bien.
5. Ximena Sariñana vino a León a la Feria del Libro en el Poliforum, solo cobraron 30 pesos, y me perdí la presentación de su disco "Mediocre" que en pocas y mundanas palabras "está bien chido." Ni pex.
6. Gracias al dueño de todas nuestras quincenas, nuestro papi Carlos Slim traerá el iPhone a México en Diciembre, (aunque pueden comprarlo desde ya)  chale, ¿cómo está eso de que nadie sabe para quién trabaja? si ya sabemos que trabajamos para papi Slim.
7. Hackeron la página del Senado y quedó de risa loca, lástima que solo duró un día hackeada pero lo bueno es que alguien se preocupó por guardar unas capturas de pantalla para disfrutarlas. Je je.
8. Sam Flores visitó desde la ciudad de San Franciso CA y diariamente pudimos ser testigos del progreso de su obra. Ah! Ya me imagino un gran graffitti adornando el living de mi casa. Ya verán.

Luego de que <hace unos días se confirmara que el Service Pack 3 para Windows XP estaría disponible en este mes de Abril, ya se han dado a conocer las fechas finales para el lanzamiento de este paquete que incluye numerosas actualizaciones de seguridad y mejoras de rendmiento:

• Abril 14: Disponible el soporte para el lanzamiento de Windows XP Service Pack 3.
• Abril 21: Disponible el SP3 para fabricantes de equipos, poseedores de licencias de Windows por volumen, Connect y suscriptores de MSDN y Technet.

Ok, lo racconto, ma anche a lui lo dovetti raccontare, perché non sapeva mica quello che si era svolto dietro le quinte!

C'è una mia conoscente alla quale un giorno diedi un passaggio, e chiacchierando mi disse di avere un blog. Fu così che me lo andai a cercare, lo trovai (divertentissimo), e iniziai a leggere e a commentare (in forma per lo più anonima). Un giorno la rincontrai, e siccome era prossimo il compleanno di mia figlia, e avevo organizzato una cena fuori, con un tavolo di mamme e uno di figli, la invitai caldamente a partecipare, insistendo molto perché nicchiava.

Venne, e a tavola con gli altri, uscì il discorso dei nostri blog, e insomma si arrivò a parlare del perché avere un blog. A un certo punto lei mi chiese: "Hai letto quel tale che mi scrive chiedendomi perché avere un blog? "

No, non l'avevo letto. Mi era sfuggito e, senza segnalazione, mi sarebbe probabilmente sfuggito per sempre. Il giorno dopo lo andai a ricercare, e lo trovai. Questo il commento incriminato:

"E’ da un po’ di tempo che ti leggo e, devo ammettere che l’ho sempre fatto con piacere, soprattutto gustando tante volte la tua ironia. Con questo post, credo tu abbia toccato “il centro del problema”…: perché aprire un blog? A cosa serve e, soprattutto, a chi può servire realmente? Vedi, il tutto nasce dal fatto che da un po’ di tempo, sono alla ricerca di un motivo plausibile (potrebbe anche non esserci…), per aprire anch’io un blog. Sono, ovviamente un navigatore accanito, mi occupo, tra l’altro, di siti web e, sentendo la necessità di raccontarmi e di raccontare, ho incominciato a “rovistare” nella rete e, oltre al tuo, mi sono imbattuto in alcuni blog che, al momento, ritengo abbastanza interessanti. Il web è strapieno di blog ma, quanti di questi potrebbero realmente chiudere i battenti…e allora, perché continuano ad esistere!!? Ho l’impressione (sono sempre disposto a cambiare idea, se le argomentazioni sono valide e convincenti…), che il blog, sia una “forzata” vetrina personale, dove spesso si raccontano delle cose (personali…) e, dove spesso, i famosi commenti sono uguali a zero (anche dove ci sono…). Nell’epoca della comunicazione a tutti i costi, comunicare è diventato un optional; si parla di se, delle cose più varie, e alla gente non gliene importa un bel “fico secco”. Un blog, serve per raccontarsi, sicuramente, ma anche per raccontare delle cose, aggiungo io, altrimenti? E’ un diario (quanti blog/diario che ho incontrato…) ma, una volta il diario non era una cosa privata? Vabbè, oggi non esiste il privato, anzi, chi ha occasione di mettere in piazza le sue cose personali lo fa di gran corsa, ed allora… E’ un bisogno un po’ narcisistico per ascoltarsi e, allo stesso tempo, per darsi delle risposte. Forse è come il “lettino dello psicanalista”, dove qualcuno ad ascoltare c’è sempre e comunque. E’ indubbiamente tutte queste cose, un autoanalisi egoistica ma, perché farla sul web, a disposizione di un pubblico, in teoria, così vasto? I miei commenti, alle volte critici, alle volte ironici, ma sempre “lunghi e prolissi”, quasi dei post (così sono stati giudicati…), hanno alle volte suscitato reazioni inaspettate, magari solo perché al di fuori di realtà consolidate. Ci si conosce, e allora va anche bene un commento del tipo: …;) Condivido, quindi, i tuoi sogni, li condivido e li sottoscrivo. Sai raccontare delle cose e, si ha sempre l’impressione che vengano dal tuo profondo. Sai fondere, a mio avviso, il tuo privato con ciò che ti circonda, senza presunzione e anche con un pò d’ironia, che non guasta mai. E’ vero, sei uno dei tanti blog che imperversano sulla rete, ma anche uno di quelli che usano le parole per comunicare, alle volte con un po’ di narcisismo ma, senz’altro da perdonare, visto che è da ritenersi del tutto naturale. "Carissimo Arthur, uno che scrive come te DEVE aprire un blog! Hai ragione su tutto quello che scrivi, a volte ci si scrive addosso, a volte è il lettino di uno psicanalista, ma in cui siamo ad un tempo analista e paziente, l'analisi non ce l'aspettiamo dai lettori. A volte, per chi ama scrivere, è semplicemente un motivo per farlo... e poi, come diceva il buon Umberto Saba, il dolore è uno, ha una voce e non varia... ti è mai capitato di leggere un diario, o comunque un qualche tipo di "confessione" di qualcun altro, magari vissuto 200 anni fa, e ritrovarci te stesso? E sentirti meno solo? E sentirti rilassato e capito perché quel qualcuno era riuscito a esprimere quelli che in effetti erano i tuoi sentimenti? Todo comenzó con un colega que llegó a la redacción y comentó que estaba preparando una nota para el domingo en Clarín acerca de las redes sociales. El gancho era que según un estudio de la consultora Ignis ya son al menos 240 mil los argentinos en facebook, orkut, twitter y demás. Entonces el compañero periodista pidió si le podíamos pasar algún contacto de gente que use redes sociales o sepa de ellas. Al toque le dije que yo le pasaba. Y entonces twitié eso contándoles a mis followers de la nota y diciendo que me manden DM a los que quieran participar.

Entre otros, la ya famosa Conz y el gran Ebetas se prendieron. Entonces pase al colega sus celulares y así como si nada estos dos twitteros llegaron al gran diario argentino. La chica del millón de amigos dijeron de Conz. Argentino, pionero y con estilo de Ebetas.

Así, todo empezó con un twitteo mío y terminó con dos twitters dejando su huella en el diario más leído de la Argentina y un domingo. Falta poco para que Twitter llegue a los grandes medios y justo ahora que tanto se habla de mainstream.

Ah well it's after exam. I survived. I hope my marks will too.

Me and Cornelius was like smiling all the way and looking at the guy in front of him, he took out scrap papers and refer answers from there. How come everytime I will get to see something special one ah? Like car vandalism, etc. Probably that's experi3nc3 indeed :P

In the end, we cannot tahan and I wrote "Someone is cheating on the right" on my question paper and called the teacher. Pointed him to that sentence, and he can't see it clearly =__= So I pointed the word cheating twice then he walked away.

First attempt our lecturer VP Kallimani (yeah that guy who teach us WPS and UST >_>) flipped over his question paper but cannot find anything... because that fucker hid that paper under the answer pad. We have a specific green booklet for answers, and he slided that under it.

Second attempt Cornelius beh tahan ady because VP went to the left of the room (our direction) and then that guy took the chance and crumpled the paper and put in his right pocket. Cornelius whispered to VP and VP checked his pocket, and walla. There goes. I fucking hope he get zero for that exam and get expelled.

I susah payah study for exam and then you want to bring in answer papers and copy pasta like that? Fuck you.

Anyway, last night was so unmotivated to study as no mood, then look at the notes also tulan, and nothing is going into my brain. So I went upstairs to get the rubik's cube from Ivan and started flipping. Apparently when I'm sober I tend to remember the permutations correctly lol. Anyway, the rubik's cube is evil I tell you =P It distracts me from studies... according to lilgirl lah lol.

So I put it aside and attempted reading. Failed. At least one sentence went into my brain. =\

So slept at around 2 I guess? I forgot. Hon Chien came back very late at night too.

Steph was like... watching anime... F/SN... swt... I need to watch the whole series again.

Woke up at 6:30 AM, rolled a while on the bed, and got up. Took my bath (Jeevan's water heater is working yay lol =P) and then went down tapao my breakfast and started reading. Made my own notes (thank god I did and it saved my ASS from drowning that deep) and then read them. Kwang's dad apparently left the house before 6:30 AM... so Jeevan was like assuming that he left at 5:30 AM. KLIA. Wow.

Donikaku (yes weroth pardon teh spelling XD), Jeevan fetched me to university. Went there, and I read a bit more again on the notes I wrote. None of my coursemates are there when I reach the room. *facepalm* walao all so leisure on this paper lah? Lol.

Sat for the exam... did my best, I mean I did everything I could tho =\

Ah yeah my mind was playing Tongue Tied during the last 40minutes of my exam. Don't ask why =P

Also, there's a girl... that have a tattoo on the back of her waist. I was like stoning halfway through exam and I tilted my head to the left. Then I notice that she have something behind, so I'm like looking all around the class and till the end I noticed that it's actually a gothic looking butterfly which is damn cool. Now, don't put Daniel in play as his church brainwashed him to a degree where jewelry(besides wedding ring) and piercing is not allowed. =\ Well in his church all women wears a veil besides lil kids. That should explain why.

So... when I got nothing more to write... I'll tilt left XD her handwriting is nice. She wrote a lot too. *pardon me as that's the only girl in my vision and I actually looked around there's not much feminines around*

Well, after reading a certain 'article' *no further information* on something, I just found out something interesting. Need to do more research on that area. Seems to be promising, but takes a lot of time and patience... and ofc mentally strong.

Well, you know, the best things in life is to read blogs. Not those who fake their post (like me lol), and political blogs, or those totally rubbish blogs (like mine too). Especially when you see those... with teddy backgrounds, colourful rainbows... that's when you can expect to read something really good. Not to forget those with very nice layout (W3C standard [ok lah here we go again], xHTML verified and those yada yada stuffs lol) nice colour, nice theme, nice hideout for the blogger him/herself (mine's no longer my hideout anymore thanks to uncle google) and the list goes on. List might vary for users too.

It's like... freedom of expression is always the best way to put things correctly. By that I mean it literally. What now, you think history books are accurate? Lol.

I can still remember the photo I took that time... in Tiscra 3. Apparently some girl (due to the style of writing) wrote something very interesting and I just have to take it before someone else rubs if off. Very very interesting paragraph there.

Speaking of that place, that day (a few days ago), me, Kwang, and JC went out for lunch, Kwang developed the photos for the submission to the police station (car vandalism photos). So we went to the corner shop and ordered wantan mee. Expensive and not delicious, but the mee portion is like... wow... damn huge. I still prefer hometown wantan mee. Haha.

Anyway, so I turned to the left and noticed an Uncle reading the Star. So as I'm glancing through while Kwang's glancing somewhere else on the paper I noticed the title "Semanggol NS camp" something something I forgot... related to fever. So I'm like lol Semanggol NS camp. Then 2 seconds later, I went eh, wait a minute... isn't semanggol... holy shi- It's my previous campsite. *facepalm* But never mind since I'm out ady I don't give a shit. I hate that place, damn a lot of paranormal activities and inside it's like Neverending-land. Anything can happen. (By anything I really mean almost anything).

That was the wackiest 3 months I'd ever been through in my life which changed my stereotypical thinking towards certain people to a higher level now. Farking ah longs + gangsters. Lol. Err, well did I mention about what they took?

Let's see... 2 bottles of cough medicine bottoms up... 2 Panadols... 1 Green Pill (you know I know we all know) plus smoking cigarrettes and weed and what else ah... er... guess that's about it. Ah yeah white powder.

On the SingaporeMotherhood.com site, for instance, you can go on dozens of sprees for health supplements, branded baby clothes and educational toys.

At HardwareZone.com forums, mass orders for computer parts, Crumpler laptop bags and Bluetooth headsets are abound, while car forums offer deals on Mugen bodykits and leather steering wheel wraps. Even classified ad websites like ST701.com have got in on the act, organising sprees for fashion labels such as Gap, Old Navy and Victoria's Secret lingerie.

The appeal of sprees is easy to understand - you enjoy lower prices at online merchants than at the shops, and you can share the cost of shipping the items to Singapore with others.

Another bonus: Banding together with others can get you further bulk discounts that individuals will not enjoy.

In addition, with the Internet, Singapore shoppers are no longer limited to what local merchants choose to bring in.

Capitalising on this trend are new logistics services, such as ComGateway.com, that help online shoppers ship in goods at less than what the merchant would charge.

But while sprees are attractive, there are risks.

For example, a warranty issued by an overseas merchant might not be honoured by the local distributor. If you have problems with the item, you would have to send it back overseas, possibly incurring significant freight charges.

Some spree organisers have been known to cheat buyers, either replacing the items ordered with fake or cheaper items, or simply running away with the money.

There are ways to protect yourself from scams or, at least, minimise the risks. For instance, join sprees on sites that have already run some checks on the organiser. If you are not in a hurry to get the item, wait and see how a spree by a particular organiser turns out; if it goes well, join his next one.

Finally, be sure there is a solid audit trail to follow in case things go wrong. For instance, get the organiser's mobile number, pay via an online banking service, and keep the transaction reference numbers and the organiser's bank account number.
