La HUELGA DE GUIONISTAS afectó la pasada temporada televisiva en USA, las cadenas de televisión abierta ABC, CBS, THE CW, FOX y NBC se mostraron en contra de la supuesta nueva HUELGA DE ACTORES y mejoraron los sueldos de cada integrante de los shows de tv; ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY acaba de publicar detalles presuntivos de cada cadena en relación con el futuro de cada una de sus series… acá lo tenemos para que tú también des tu opinión y nos digas cuáles crees que serán las series de la temporada, los fracasos y series canceladas y las futuras renovaciones…

The gorgeous Lindsay Price of Lipstick Jungle fame appeared in Esquire magazine completely nude. Sorry guys but she covered up her bits and pieces! This is the first time the actress has posed nude for a publications and she says:

"The week before the shoot, I worked out harder than I had in my entire life. I was anxious all week. The day of the shoot, I had fantasies of driving to Mexico to avoid doing it. I took the longest shower of my life, exfoliating, moisturizing, paying really close attention to where I shaved. I went to the set in my baggiest jeans and my most comfortable sweatshirt — a really antisexy outfit."

Lindsay Price who has enjoyed skydiving in the past says it was scarier to jump out of the plane than to pose in the nude!

O canal FOX estréia na segunda-feira, dia 25 de agosto, às 22h, a série "Lipstick Jungle: O Poder Feminino na Grande Cidade". A produção leva a assinatura de Candance Bushnell, a criadora do fenômeno Sex and the City.

A série é centrada na amizade de Wendy (Brooke Shields), uma executiva da indústria cinematográfica, que faz de tudo para conseguir equilibrar sua carreira e o convívio com sua família, Nico, editora-chefe de uma famosa revista de moda, que ambiciona o cargo de CEO da companhia, e Victory, uma estilista sonhadora que espera encontrar o homem de sua vida e realizar todos os seus sonhos

Cada episodio de esta temporada en EUREKA fueron por decir poco, graciosos como nunca y siempre con una pequeña sorpresa y un final inesperado. Para el FDT las expectativas eran altas, lamentablemente la serie siguió el patrón que comenzó con la 1ra: Hacer un penúltimo episodio emocionante como nunca, y dejarnos con un Final amargo. Porque aunque el Final de la 1ra Temporada fue uno que voló la mente de algunos, nos dejó un sabor amargo, al saber que las cosas no volverían a ser igual. Ahora en esta segunda temporada, la serie concluye la trama de el hijo de Allison. más nos deja aún más confundido sobre las verdaderas intenciones de Beverly, y aún más molestos porque Henry se marcha de Eureka, o por lo menos así nos dejaron saber. En conclusión un Final inesperado como todos los episodios, pero amargo como ninguno.

Un 8 de 10

Un Final que no fue de Temporada sinó de la serie. Un Final como ningún episodio de la serie, fue el Final de BIG SHOTS. A pesar de las malas y ácidas críticas (Aunque la mía no fue de la mejor), BIG SHOTS es una serie para pasar el rato, y mejor horario no pudo tener en WB. El Final de la serie recojió todos los cabos sueltos, fue divertido, rápido y como todo Final debe ser, fue el mejor episodio de la serie. Como curiosidad, en la serie el personaje Brody pasó los 13 episodios nombrando a su esposa Janelle, lo curioso es que no fue hasta este último episodio cuando vimos a su personaje. El Fin y a la vez el principio del triángulo Karl/ Wendy/ Marla no pudo haber sido de mejor forma, ya que <ESPOILER> ambas terminaron embarazadas de Karl </ESPOILER> En conclusión la serie terminó por lo alto, y nos dejo con un buen gusto en la boca, lástima que no se repitirá.

Otra que siempre me dió curiosidad pero se me hacía imposible de ver era ELI STONE, el primer episodio de la serie fue algo divertido, dramático y tal vez muy poco para engancharse. Aún así siempre cada vez que podía la seguía, pero nunca me imaginé que lo que mis ojos veían a las 9PM en Sony era algo tan expectacular. Lo digo por que ninguno de los últimos 5 episodios de la temporada, fallaron en ser increíblemente, pero también, sensacionalmente-expectacular. No hubo excepción con el FDT, aunque sabíamos que <ESPOILER> todo iba a estar bien </ESPOILER>, el episodio nos mantuvo en suspenso hasta los últimos 3 minutos.

Y para culminar uno que si fue, para nada expectacular, fue el Final de Temporada de LIPSTICK JUNGLE. Supongamos que fue debido a que la serie fue interrumpida por la huelga de guionista que hubo en USA. Pero por más el episodio no se mantuvo a lo alto de los anteriores. Lo, por no decir malo, sinó decepcionante del Final, fue que el episodio trató básicamente de Nico, dejando a Victory y a Wendy a un lado.

Las pregunta ahora serán ¿Terminarón de verdad Nico y Kirby?, ¿Y que pasó con Victory y Joe? y ¿Cuando volveremos a ver LIPSTICK JUNGLE por FOX?

Lo que será interesante es ver como serán ELI STONE, CHUCK, GOSSIP GIRL, LIPSTICK JUNGLE, SAMANTHA WHO? y DIRTY SEXY MONEY en una temporada completa de 20-22 episodios, ¿Mantendrán su nivel de execelencia o se perderá la dirección de estas series?

Le tre protagoniste di Lipstick Jungle (sia il libro sia il telefilm) sono tre donne quarantenni che ricordano molto da vicino Carrie e socie dieci anni dopo. Si tratta infatti di donne arrivate ormai ai vertici della loro carriera, e che in due casi su tre hanno già messo su famiglia con marito e figli.

Wendy Healy è il potente presidente di uno studio cinematografico ed è sposata con due figli: il marito è una sorta di "casalingo" extra lusso,  non lavora ma si occupa dei bambini. Nico O’Neilly è il direttore di un'importante rivista, sposata con una figlia. Unica single, mai sposata per scelta, Victory Ford è un'acclamata stilista.
Nel corso del romanzo le vicende lavorative delle protagoniste si innestano su quelle personali in un mix ben calibrato: Wendy è in procinto di ricevere l'agognato Oscar per il suo nuovo film quando viene mollata dal marito. Nico si trova a dover "fare fuori" un suo collega per andare avanti nella sua scalata al potere, e intanto inizia una relazione extraconiugale con un giovane modello. Victory Ford conosce quello che potrebbe essere l'uomo giusto, ma è frenata dal suo cinismo sentimentale, e contemporaneamente inizia le trattative per cedere la sua società.

Quando la NBC ha deciso di dare il via al serial, accompagnandolo con un'aggressiva campagna pubblicitaria, da ogni parte si è parlato (ancora una volta) del "nuovo Sex and the City". Per le parti delle tre protagoniste sono state scelte Brooke Shields (Wendy), Kim River (Nico) e Lindsay Price (Victory). Ma il serial si è rivelato ben presto un vero e proprio flop, e le critiche sono piovute da ogni parte e all'unanimità, nonostante le buone premesse e il consistente investimento pubblicitario.

Il Times, in riferimento al suo illustre precedente, ha definito Lipstick Jungle "l'ennesimo clone di cattivo gusto", ironizzando particolarmente sulla sfilata di scarpe Manolo Blanhik con cui si apre la prima puntata: espediente, in effetti, decisamente già visto.
Sostanzialmente, la reazione dei critici sembra assimilare Lipstick Jungle a una borsa falsificata: solo più brutta dell'originale e nient'altro. In molti hanno notato i deprimenti punti in comune tra il nuovo serial e una telenovela di bassa lega.
Insomma, un disastro.

A distanza di dieci anni dalla prima puntata di Sex and the City sembra che sia davvero difficile ricalcarne il successo sfruttando ingredienti analoghi: il più delle volte si rischia di cadere nel baratro della "brutta copia". A detta di alcuni persino il film di Sex and the City non sarà all'altezza del serial.

Salvaje, sexy, jugoza y divertida. Con estas 4 palabras podemos definir a LIPSTICK JUNGLE. Cada episodio vemos a Nico, Wendy y Victory, viviendo las consecuencias, problemas y demás que pueden presentarse al ser tres mujeres exitosas en Nueva York. Aunque la serie no transmite un mensaje directamente feminista, en algunas situaciones veremos en los dialogos lo injusto o las desventajas de ser exitosas y mujeres.

Dejando esto por un lado, la serie logra una combinación perfecta de drama y emoción. Y vemos la vida de estas tres mujeres continuamente, de forma que el televidente no se sienta desconectado de las situaciones que vemos. Lo excelente de la serie esta, que apesar de su trama, está abierta a cualquier público (PG-12, claro).

Uno de los estrenos más sexys desde hace algún tiempo. Todos los martes a las 10PM por FOX.

That show almost got chopped from the new schedule so I hope this season is better than the last. So far I've heard that Mary Tyler Moore will be guest starring for a multi-episode role next season which kicks of on September 24th.

i'm not sure why, but i've been on the receiving end of outbursts and getting misunderstood for the longest time ever. not only does it tend to happen at home sometimes, its more disappointing that the friends around do the same. with all graciousness, i personally drove and delivered to the doorstep of a friend, his guitar which i had borrowed and he forgot i borrowed, and gave him three extra sets of strings. as he was changing them today, he started messaging me on msn at how the strings were stuck and it was my fault because i hadn't changed the strings for 4 years and now he has to send it to the guitar shop to be serviced and blah blah blah. i was enjoying myself watching the new 9pm drama on channel 8 then, and it was quite irritating to see such messages, so i kept my laptop aside. after the show, i checked and he went on a story about how he managed to take the strings out by using a long stick or whatever in his tool box. and how fantastic his tools were.

dude, you forgot to thank me being there to vent your frustrations at putting just a little bit more effort at changing your godforsaken strings. you're welcome, but i take no pleasure in being of such assistance.

two episodes of lipstick jungle couldn't catch my attention so i won't be watching the rest of what i downloaded. off you go into the trash bin you trashy shows that ooze plenty of sex, but no appeal.

My first encounter with Candace Bushnell was "Sex in the City" (of course). I don't remember which episode I watched, but I remember thinking, "Good lord, could this BE any more about men bashing?" And the blatant sexual undertones (or in many cases, overtones it was so in-your-face crude at times) made me uncomfortable. I'm not a prude, but I'm a firm believer in leaving just a little bit to the audiences' imagination - it's just more ... tasteful that way.

If you've ever seen "Sex in the City", then you know it doesn't take any imagination to get the gist of the show.

But I was curious enough to keep watching and after a while, I read between the script lines. The show was about relationships in general and how smart, successful women coped with those relationship pitfalls specifically.

This curiosity encouraged me to learn more about the author behind the series. Which in turn led me to read her first book, 4 Blondes; which I thoroughly hated. Considering this review is not about 4 Blondes and I don't want to waste valuable space talking about that book, let's just say - the characters were ... spoiled, egotistical and completely unsympathetic.

But I'm a fair reader, so I gave Bushnell the benefit of the doubt (surmising that perhaps 4 Blondes was a vindication for something in her personal life) and picked up Lipstick Jungle.

I admit, I was a hostile reader. Given my previous experience with 4 Blondes, I approached the book with reluctance. I too tend to write about strong, sometimes bitchy, protagonists but honestly, Bushnell's women were just a bit too hard-core, even for me.

But I enjoyed all three protagonists in this book. I appreciated the fact that these women were strong, successful, and friends, but not in the wimpy "I can't make a decision without your input" sort of way friends - they complemented each other. All of their situations were different enough that Bushnell really did a good job covering a broad spectrum of problems for the rich, stressed, career woman. (I presume these are common problems - I'm not in that category so I can't say that with total conviction).

I related the most to Wendy Healy's situation: married, three children and the president of a prestigious movie company. I related to Wendy not because of her success, but because of her desperation for trying to balance all aspects of her life so that no one was inconvenienced or had their schedules disrupted. I remember doing all of that when my own children were small - I was working nights, going to college and trying to keep an efficient and well organized household - the stress of trying to "do it all" was absolutely intense.

However, I admired Nico O’Neilly the most. Here was a super smart woman who knew how to read people and how to get what she wanted. She was married to a wonderfully stable (if not boring) man, had one child, and though she appeared cool as ice on the outside, was actually a very thoughtful and morally aware individual on the inside. In my opinion, this was the perfect situation to be in for a career-oriented woman because she had a good home life and a flourishing career and neither really demanded more than she could give at one time. Though I didn't necessarily agree with her affair, I could certainly understand WHY she chose to go through with it.

And then there was Victory Ford. I related to her the least, but I perhaps liked her the most. I could definitely see myself in Victory as I'm quite certain that if I hadn't met my husband, thereby living the life I do now, I would have ended up like her - career oriented and quite impatient with relationships in general. Victory wants a relationship, but on her terms, and I could relate to her sense of independence and pride.

These women make hard decisions - decisions that affect their personal and professional lives. And though they are tough, and perhaps a bit cold-hearted at times, given their situations, they had to be. If they had been anything less than what Bushnell portrays them to be, I would have lost respect for them and the story would have imploded. Bushnell really does an outstanding job showing the reader that being a woman, in today's world, requires so much more than we're perhaps willing to give or sacrifice and that if we decide to take the bull by the horns and "have it all", there will be consequences and casualties and that you better be willing to live with the results.

This is a great book for women. It's a great book for women who are feeling strong, independent and need some reassurance that life is not all cookies and cream - tough decisions MUST be made and that it's okay to not only make those decisions, but to live with those decisions later on. It's also a good book for women who need a reminder that life in the fast lane might be fast and furious, but is not necessarily more satisfying down the road.

Women face many issues today and often times, women feel incredible guilt for the decisions they make with those issues. Lipstick Jungle reinforces the idea that whatever decision women make in today's world, it's possible to live with those decisions and make the best of them.

Doesn't mean I didn't figure a few things out about Candace Bushnell and beauty, though. Here's what I learned about the author of Sex & the City and Lipstick Jungle at a P&G Beauty cocktail gathering this week:

-- Bushnell owns a pair of Crocs but wears them only at home. (We were at the Bata Shoe Museum; I had to start with shoes, yes?)

-- she has a fresh perspective on female-driven programming: "We get romance or romantic comedy and men get action-adventure," she said. "Sex & the City IS an action adventure! Our idea of action is emotional. Men want to blow things up, we want to have a really great conversation."

-- she characterizes Mr-Big types as men who make you feel smarter, prettier, sexier and more glamorous than you've ever felt on your own. "But it's not about looking for Mr. Big," she says. "It's about being Mr. Big." (It's a be-all-that-you-can-be thing.)

-- she thinks beauty is making the most of what you have: appearance, personality, work ethic and drive to succeed. (Hey, I only said I didn't ask about beauty, not that Bushnell didn't talk about it.)

I did ask Bushnell, though, whether she's surprised to find herself the go-to expert on matters of women's hearts, mating and dating rituals and shoes. "No," she said. "This is just the way I've always thought about these things, how I've always talked about them."

And it struck me that of course, in the face of following a passion toward success, reaching success and owning that success, lipstick is just icing on the cake.

Cominciamo da Mary Kate Olsen, che dopo essere apparsa nella terza stagione di Weeds, potrebbe apparire nella seconda stagione di Samantha Who (ABC): l’ingresso del suo personaggio, un’”autodistruttiva cattiva ragazza” che ricorda a Samantha come era lei da giovane, è previsto in uno dei primi episodi, con la protagonista che farà di tutto per salvare il personaggio di Mary Kate dal diventare come era lei prima dell’incidente.

Due new entry anche per Lipstick Jungle, dove arriveranno, per svariati episodi, Rosie Perez e Carlos Ponce: quest’ultimo sarà Rodrigo, un contractor e potenziale interesse amoroso del personaggio di Lindsay Price, Victory Ford (ma secondo Kristin anche Mario Lopez sarebbe in lizza per quel ruolo), mentre Rosie sarà Dalia, nuova pubblicista di Lindsay.
Secondo Oliver Goldstick, showrunner della serie della NBC, il personaggio di Rosie è ispirato a quello di Salma Hayek in Ugly Betty: “Per lei niente era irraggiungibile ed intoccabile. E’ quello che ho amato di lei, e ho pensato che fosse fantastico avere un personaggio così nello show”.

Brutte notizie, infine, per i fan di Moonlight: secondo l’Hollywood Reporter, il set del dramma vampiresco della CBS è stato smantellato per far posto ai set di “The Mentalist”. Secondo alcuni insider della produzione, vari network erano interessati alla serie, ma la CBS non lo ha venduto visto che Moonlight ha fallito ogni confronto con altre serie tipo Ghost Whisperer (messa in onda in America prima della serie con protagonista Alex O’Loughlin) e con Numb3rs (messo in onda subito dopo). E se anche i ratings della serie avrebbero potuto ingolosire qualche network, non è detto che tutti i fan avrebbero seguito lo show su un altro canale: quello che è certo è che i telespettatori continuano a credere in una resurrezione dello show, e continuano a mettere in atto numerose iniziative.

I have just started reading one of her books;l 4 blondes ,and I can't put it down! Its a great light summer read- and its a good alternative to those who have seen the movie 3 or more times. (The cost of a movie ticket is the same price as the book!)
