I can hardly believe it.  I am buying size 3 diapers, 6-9 month clothes, and I even bought a WALKER last night!  Well, not really a walker, but a bouncy play-gym thing.  Either way, she is growing so fast.  I think I have the happiest baby that's ever lived.  She never cries except for when she's hungry and she sleeps like a champ.  Every other minute of the day, it seems, she is laughing.

I.O.N.... Never did I think that I am considering resignation because I cannot access and listen to Jango. Seems petty and downright stupid. But my argument? What is a little consolation while doing hard work. Look, I have my own room now, and Jango in the background helps me focus and work with a light upbeat trot. The selection in Jango is so diverse and I was so pleased by it that I stupidly deleted all my MP3s. Now, heavy silence in my room is almost deafening. It's only interrupted by staccato sounds of my keyboard. Let your frustation out on the keyboard why don't you. And it's not like I go to porn sites or spend hours and hours on well established social network sites. I love the music Jango plays. Offered solution by the IT I raised the issue with? Buy an iPod. With the salary I'm getting here? Yea right.

最后被”它“很开心的玩了几天，才发现原来是 driver 问题。。。


哇～ 炸到！新电脑也有问题？这莫名的烦人电子世界。。。气～

最后只好求救我的神 “Dell”。

还好服务算周到，至少解决了问题，总算可以用这“新脑”打战咯！嘻嘻。。。

这几天应该会继续忙着为 demo 编曲、录音。。。

Dulu gw pernah belajar keyboard, drum, tapi ya itu ga ada yg bisa kecuali drum lah gw bisa 60%. Perjalanan gw dalam mempelajari gitar cukup unik karna gw belajarnya tuh kelas 3 SMP. Pas mw UN. Dan yg bikin gw bangga krn gw cuma butuh 2 bln untuk menguasai gitar dalam arti tau kunci, tau lagu, tau ngegenjreng. Apa karena darah musik bokap gw mengalir di tubuh ini ya? Hehe thanks dad. Gitar bener-bener teman setia dalam membunuh waktu. Awalnya gw belajar gitar tuh gara-gara pengen menarik perhatian cewek-cewek. Cuma gw salah. Karna kayaknya lebih banyak cowok yg tertarik d huahahaha. Tapi gw sadar, gw belajar gitar tuh karena gw suka ma ni alat. Berawal dari main gitar gw mulai mengenal band-band baik dalam maupun mancanegara. Band mancanegara yang bikin gw kepincut itu ya Green Day, gw cobain semua lagu2nya dan hey, gw bisa maenin lagu2 mereka cihuy!! Ga terbatas ma Green Day ja. Gw jg dengerin bnyk band dan band lain yg bikin gw kepincut Muse dan terakhir Radiohead. Mereka influence terbesar gw kalo gw bilang dalam bermusik. Gw jadi kangen masa-masa SMA dimana gw masih bisa ngeband bareng temen-temen bahkan guru gw sendiri. Kangen juga kalo ada acara di sekolah pasti gw ngisi bagian band ya karena mungkin cuma gw yg bisa maen kali ya haha. Tapi gw liat mulai ada beberapa orang yang bisa kok. Semoga aja mereka bisa lebih hebat lagi. Sekarang gw cuma main akustikan aja. Elektrik paling ngisi rhythm doang. Tapi itulah nikmatnya bermusik. Nasehat ini selalu gw inget baik-baik. "Jangan hilangkan sel-sel musik dalam dirimu". Itu kata guru gw. Dan emank bener kita jangan menghilangkannya tanpa musik dunia hampa. Jujur gw bergantung banget sama keahlian bermusik gw krn ga ada yang bisa gw banggain dari diri gw kecuali kemampuan gw bermain gitar. Karena itu musik dan juga gitar adalah best friend gw setiap saat dan dimanapun.

Surprisingly, I couldn't instantly tell which songs were which off the top of my head (Radiohead tends to do album tracks instead of singles live,) but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Now, probably the greatest moment of the concert for me was the fact that they broke into "Tell Me Why" by Neil Young. This was the first time they've ever played that song live in its entirety. It was beautiful. And I caught it (along with nearly the entire rest of the concert) on my Flip. Anyway, I was inspired by the concert to cover that very song, so here it is:

Also, I got a haircut, as you can see (in its completely flat form) in the video. I actually shaved this morning, well after recording this, so there's no more of that.

Also, on Halloween I'm planning on posting a cover of "Starman" by David Bowie. Stay tuned for that (don't worry, there will be other videos before then.)

ALSO, I've reformed my old band. More word on that soon enough.

Koyuki merasa bosan dengan kehidupannya yang biasa-biasa saja. Hingga akhirnya ia bertemu dengan Ryusuke yang 8 tahun tinggal di Amerika dan sangat lihai dalam bermain gitar. Sejak itu, Koyuki mulai menyukai band luar negeri terkenal yang bernama Dying Breed, yang selalu menjadi panutan mereka dalam bermain musik. Ryusuke bahkan Koyuki sendiri terlambat menyadari kalau Koyuki punya suara yang bagus. Beck banyak bercerita mengenai kehidupan sehari-hari Koyuki. Dari mulai ia mengenal musik keras, belajar berenang sama seorang bujangan 44 tahun yang juga mengajarinya bermain gitar, hingga saat ia bergabung ke band bentukan Ryusuke yang diberi nama Beck. Jalan yang ditempuh Koyuki pun tidak selalu mulus. Ia pernah dibenci oleh Ryusuke karena merusakkan gitar kesayangannya yang ia pinjamkan kepadanya. Ia juga pernah dimusuhi sama geng Hyoudou yang juga punya band dan menguasai sekolahnya hingga ia dimusuhi teman-temannya satu sekolah.
Perkembangan cerita selanjutnya mulai menceritakan perkembangan band Beck dalam menapaki tangga popularitas.

Pokoknya 1 kata nih anime keren bgt d. Apalagi lagu-lagunya yang kebetulan gw beruntung memilikinya. Oh ya, nih gw kasih slh satu lirik lagunya.

]]> <![CDATA[I'm Going to Hollywood!]]> http://mrsogletree.wordpress.com/?p=165 Wed, 27 Aug 2008 12:53:29 +0000 mrsogletree http://mrsogletree.wordpress.com/?p=165 No golden ticket for me, unless you count my e-ticket for US Airways, but I'm going just the same.  I'll be leaving on Sept. 11 and returning on Sept. 15.  I'm heading out to see some extended family and try to make some things happen in the music world.  I have some "peeps" with "connections," so we're gonna "do lunch" and see what will come of it.

I'm excited about going because I've never been.  I definitely want to go do all the touristy stuff, but I also want to roll with the big dogs.  Josh's cousin and her husband live there and he's an actor- check him out here.  It should be fun.

In the meantime, I'm raising money for my very first solo project!  I talked with the 2 producers that want to work with me on Monday.  They're both great, but just because they want to work with me doesn't mean they're footing the bill... I am.  It's quite daunting when you hear the numbers and I know I don't have the kind of money necessary to make this happen, but hopefully enough people believe in me and want to invest.  I'd like to get my project completed by Christmas.  If you want to hear me sing, go here.  I am working on a couple of new tracks to add to the site, so check back in another week for more music.  If you're interested in helping me out with my CD fund, leave a comment with your email address or email me at leahogletree@bellsouth.net.

Well, if you ask me, and listen to my music, you will realize that I'm still far away from my "own" style. 

But, besides the (bad) copies I of other composer's themes and styles (some of this can be found on the "My compositions" page), I feel that my music is more and more becoming "my own", the more I write and the less I look to others for inspiration. And I don't know, but I think after now 8 months of composing music you can see the difference between my first and my current compositions. 

However, there are still other composers that inspired me and whose music I love and admire. If people think of film music, most of them will think of Hans Zimmer. And he is really a talented composer, though I think he could have done better on some of his scores. It was, in fact, his music that aroused my interest in film music. First, through the Score of The Lion King, then through the whole Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, which is like the pop music of film scores. ;-)

But what impresses me most about him is how he got in the business without having a classic education. That makes him really sympathic to me, because I basicly taught myself the guitar and the little technique necessary to play the notes I need on the midi-keyboard. 

Now it are other composers, too, besides Hans Zimmer, who I admire. For example the beautiful, unmistakable style of John Williams, the "master" in the business. Or the darker tunes of Danny Elfman. The intelligent, almost classical music of Gabriel Yared. The epic Lord of the Rings scores by Howard Shore (some of the best music I ever heard). And whose style I almost like the most is Harry Gregson-Williams. His Kingdom of Heaven score is one of my favorites.

So finally, I hope with all that major and minor influences, I will still be able do develop something one could consider an individual style, and I think there's still hope for me. ;-)
