Random shots taken with my super-duper cheapo camera during a quick one day trip through the parks. Heavy fog, rain and snow followed us from park to park. I'd like to go back someday and see these places in the sunshine.

We started the week by heading up to the remarkable Burnett Dairy in Alpha, WI. (Cheese Underground has a great post about their artisan Alpha's Morning Sun, a block of which is now in our fridge waiting for a taste test.)

We met with the successful co-op's two master cheesemakers, the avuncular Steve Tollers and the dryly charming Bruce Willis. (Not that Bruce Willis, no.)

The Burnett shop was as interesting as the plant — it was just thronged with patrons and seemed to be a community gathering point of some significance.

We also visited with Richard Glick, a semi-retired (but still consulting) master cheesemaker whose skill with blue and gorgonzola cheeses is legendary. He regaled us with stories about tweaking and improving recipes for blue and gorgonzola and the "what if?" impulse that drives hands-on cheesemakers.

We stopped by to visit John Moran again; on our previous visit, he wasn't making cheese, so we caught up with him and a vat of Colby.

Unfortunately, we managed to turn up right in the middle of an emergency power outage drill, meaning that the photo session was a little shorter than we'd hoped.

Finally, this Friday, we met up with David Lindgren of Lynn Dairy. The trip was fantastic — it was perfect weather, Lindgren was a gracious host, and we got some good quotes and photos. It doesn't hurt that Lynn Dairy still uses some Amish milk and is located in is one of the most beautiful parts of the state that we've seen.

Next and finally: Tom Torkelson. Normally we'd work him into this roundup-style post, but we got so much great stuff we're breaking him off into his own writeup.

But in the meantime, all is well and strewn with photos on my pretty page. Let's hope it stays that way.

Anyway I did take some photos of the gardens, even though it was raining and as grey and as miserable as anything, you can see them on my photo blog, Iris in the Rain, Nook, Statue, Shelter and Guest Photographer, which is (I think) a rather nice photo taken by Girl Lacer.

on that note. sense i am talking about apple and everything. my iphone is broken. this greatly saddens me. i called apple support and we went through all these tests. i set up and appointment at the apple store in pleasanton. drove there yesterday and they fixed it. came home, and it went back to being broken again. lame, i know. anyways, today it gets shipped out for repairs or even possibly a brand new iphone. awesome! so i will be non-wireless this week. i think...

i know! so adorable! there's Wise Dad there awww :) i recommend the Dark Secret cupcake :) the vanilla one with the orange topping is not bad too, but i dunno. each cupcake is about rm5, and the espressos and cappucinos are all about rm8.

i met a bunch of people today after tuition, and .. hey Phil :) :) :) she's like taller than me and prettier so i hate her. okay no i don't :) anywayyys after a couple of hours spent stoning we headed to klcc for The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian :D

YAY IN YOUR FACE! :P i'm relishing the feeling of watching a movie right after it came out. sigh it's been a while :P yeah go ahead and punch me.

Prince Caspian was .. well, it was quite predictable, like the first movie, and you get the feeling like it's a bit tooo long and draggy, like the first movie, and it was also quite corny but basically heart-warming and sweet, like the first movie.

well, what else did you expect? it's a Walt Disney movie after all :)

i would only recommend it to people who read the books, because otherwise it's not a big deal to miss it. it's the same for die-hard fans of Harry Potter books - you just GOT to watch all the movies even if they suck and never ever ever lives up to your expectations, kan? okay i must admit that the third movie wasn't bad but THE BOOK IS BETTER okay hmph fullstop.

okay the only saving grace of the movie was the prince himself. but even his god blessed good looks wasn't quite enough. so the mouse Reepicheep enters the pic and he's really really cute and adorable, reminiscent of Puss-in-Boots in Shrek :)

okay that's it, everyone KNOWS how it's gonna end anyway. i'm gonna watch What Happens In Vegas next :) i could be watching it now but no tickets wtf damn pissing off.

oh oh and ohmygod. i love Kent :) he went and bought extra RAM for my computer! :))) it's not lagging anymore! i shall be able to continue jumping for Fighters' Club! if i'm not too busy hahaha :) my admin will probably kill me but the gang's still among the best right :P

i'm gonna continue with The Kite Runner book hehe THANKS SARAH <3

at the back of my mind, always, no matter how i try to forget, there's you. and then there's me.

you're happier now. you told me you're happier now, being with your cousins, living the single life. but whenever i start to feel like i can finally let go, and get off the stage, take a bow and end this crazy ongoing drama, out of nowhere i get hit by this wave of insane nostalgia, and the ongoing ripples of memories flashing by like polaroid pictures frozen in time. and in every frame, there's you. and then, there's me.

sometimes, in the pictures, we seem happy. we're laughing and holding hands and kissing in bed, spending half an hour watching a movie and the rest making out. other times, we're not so happy.

but still. there's you. and there's me. constantly. for how long more?
