Following on from Benn’s post about “Coke’s Trans-media Storytelling” (trans-media storytelling being the most unlikely buzz-word), it seems more brands are becoming “content creators” in a bid to drive sales. As reported in Monday’s Media Guardian, Island Def Jam Music Group (IDJ) and Procter & Gamble’s TAG brand have recently formed a new hip-hop record label, TAG Records.

At this point, the cynics amongst you may be rolling their eyes. As praneeth points outs quite succinctly on his blog, to be a successful label the focus must be on the music, not on P&G products; but this won’t be possible because the purpose of the music label is to promote P&G products. Taking a quick search on Google suggests that reaction to the label isn’t overwhelmingly positive! Comments on the daily swarm include the witty “this stinks” (TAG is a deodorant brand) as well as the more thoughtful “Be somebody, sell out”. Brilliantly the comments also include such gems as:

“HI MR. DUPREE, I,M CALVIN, WITH 4 ARTISTS, THAT ARE INDUSRTY READY.. I HAVE 3 FEMALES, AND 1 MALE RIGHT NOW'

Whether or not Mr Dupree is listening is another matter.

TAG Records has recently announced its first signing, the Brooklyn rapper “Q”. It will be interesting to see how the label progresses and if the venture is successful. I doubt that most of the audience will really care what label an artist is signed to if they are sufficiently talented. In addition with the financial muscle of P&G on board we should be hearing a lot more about Q in the future.

It’s worth having a quick look at the TAG Records website if you’ve got a spare 2 minutes; the “TAG” section is worth it alone! “When it comes to the hustle, if one piece isn’t right it could all fall apart. Let me give you some background about this joint venture between TAG and Jermaine Dupri, in case you haven't heard. So here are my sacred secrets to a happy marriage.   Take notes, but only if you need your private time most of the time:

Bring your spouse unexpected little gifts of kindness:  Mark often brings me coffee on Sunday mornings.  I often bring him my cup to put in the dishwasher afterward.

Compliment your spouse on their appearance:  Mark is generous with his compliments.  I am generous with my money at the Gap.

Schedule time alone with your spouse, special outings for just the two of you:  Tonight, I suggested we take a walk.  I hate walking but it was a beautiful night and I just finished reading the India chapter in "Eat, Love, Pray" and was feeling some semblance of Godliness.  Mark said it was "Newsweek Monday" (which is not to be confused with "Time Tuesday" or "U.S. News Wednesday" - meaning on the nights his mags show up, he needs to spend some time READING them).  As it turned out, God and I would have to wait, so I ate two bowls of Pasta Fazzole instead.  Walk THIS!

Have sex.  It's not about setting any sort of schedule.  It's simply about having it.  They're so much more appreciative when you don't just give it away on any random Father's Day or Birthday.   

Wash their clothes:  I confess I don't think they really notice the truly kind gesture that doing their laundry is, but I believe it's a karma thing.  If you wash their clothes, good things will come back to you.  For instance, they may one day wash your car.

Buy them t-shirts and underwear:  I've seen Mark get dewy eyed over a pair of new boxers.  A fresh coat of baby powder and a new pair of boxers makes for a happy husband.

Take out the garbage:  This is one of the nicest things you can do.  Before he gets home from work, haul the garbage to the end of the driveway so he sees it when he drives up.  After a hard day's work, a little garbage relief can go a long way.  Plus you can arrange the cans the way you like them.

In summary, while we can all challenge ourselves to be better spouses - and in my case, I know I've got a ways to go - I think a big part of a happy marriage is accepting YOUR marriage.  No marriage is perfect and sometimes what works for you reads WRONG in the books.  Define your own marriage and let it be okay if the deepest conversations you have are about the dog's heart worm medicine and what color to stain the bookshelves.  Let it be okay if you'd both rather read magazines than read each other's feelings.  When the love scales are out of balance, wait it out until they right themselves, then ride the wave when they tip again.

they wanted to watch hellboy also but the ticket was sold out and for my case, i dont get a good seat.. but i wasn't that bad...

4) Muitas pessoas com nicks e subnicks escrotos no msn, de uns dias pra cá. Será que trata-se de uma contaminação, um vírus que faz as pessoas apresentarem-se às outras por "nomes" imbecis? É só na minha lista ou tem mais alguém sofrendo com isso? Meu deus, acabei de ver na CNN - é realmente um vírus. Tranquem portas e janelas e rezem, não se desesperem, logo logo a situação estará controlada. (Rapaz, estamos perdidos.)

Por questões de tempo, novamente houve pequenos transtornos e o vôo saiu atrasado. Iria sair às 9:30, saiu apenas às 10:30 do dia 08. Depois de mais de 10h de vôo cheguei até Dallas. Em Dallas minhas frutas ficaram na alfândega, mas eu descobri que os texanos são iguais os dos filmes... o jeito de falar e de se vestir, fantástico.

Claro que Dallas foi outra aventura: achar a conecção e aprender a usar o telefone público. Renatinha tentando entender e falar inglês, realmente lamentável! Mas foi divertido... e mais uma vez, por causa do tempo, o meu vôo para Colorado Springs tinha sido cancelado. Deveria sair às 8:30pm da noite em Dallas (ou seja 10:30pm no Brasil) e saiu apenas 10:30pm. O que me fez chegar em Colorado Springs às 12:30 (na verdade quase 3am da manhã para mim).

Justin estava me esperando (há mais de duas horas, coitado) no aeorporto, e me levou para casa. Moral da hitória, só fui dormir mais do que 4 da manhã. Não posso reclamar, foi divertido. Os americanos até que não parecem tão alienígenas.

Acordei tarde na manha do dia 09, e obvimanete não tive tempo de ligar para a Fleming. Rê mil desculpas, Feliz Aniversário. Eu não esqueci não! Nesse dia fomos fazer compras e mais nada... estava muito cansada. Supermercado americado é igual ao nosso, e as marcas são as mesmas. Claro, tem algumas coisas inusitadas, mas nada em especial.

Colorado Springs entretanto é uma cidade muito bonita. Não tem muitos habitantes (acho que por volta de 400.000) e a maioria das construções são casas. É realmente uma gracinha, tranquila e pacífica. Foi um bom dia.
