El verano se ha acabado y ya no volverá hasta el año que viene. De un día para otro, los festivales, los conciertos al aire libre, las playas, el sol, son sustituidos por las hojas secas, la lluvia y las largas horas en casa. Así que es el momento de echar la vista atrás y reencontrarse a través de la música con las experiencias vividas.

Por ello, a partir de ahora en SoloRadio podéis escuchar algunas de las canciones que nos han marcado en este verano de 2008. Empezamos con Challenger!, un grupo al que queremos mucho aquí y del que estábamos deseando poner algo de su primer disco, "Dilitid" (Arindelle Records), que vio la luz el pasado mes de junio.

Seguimos con Ellos, que volvieron allá por mayo con "Qué fue de ellos" (Pias) y con Velocity Girl y su tema Forgotten, que nos servirá para retroceder varios años en el tiempo y viajar a 1990. Las dos píldoras restantes llevan el nombre de los jerezanos Shake Before Use, que nos traen a la memoria los días pasados en Cádiz, y de Albert Hammond Jr, el guitarrista de The Strokes en solitario que nos permite seguir soñando con un regreso de los de Nueva York que no termina de materializarse. Esperemos que suceda durante el largo invierno que nos espera.

Supongo que a estas alturas es muy probable que algunos estéis leyendo este post desde la oficina, en estos primeros días después de las vacaciones en los que no hay ninguna gana de trabajar y en los que dicen, es muy fácil que aparezcan esos sintomas de tristeza, melancolía y fatiga que ahora llaman síndrome postvacacional.

En Universo Sololobueno no vamos a entrar en si realmente existe o no el dichoso síndrome, pero si vamos a proponer un remedio alternativo (nunca mejor dicho) compuesto por las nuevas canciones que ya puedes escuchar en SoloRadio. Puedes empezar con Rhesus, grupo francés al que venimos siguiendo ultimamente en el blog y al que es un placer escuchar. Hemos elegido su tema Little things, un medio tiempo muy emotivo y relajante que te ayudará a desestresarte en estos primeros días.

Después de los francesitos pisamos un poquito el acelerador para ir cogiendo el ritmo con Dirty de Aloke, el grupo que Universo Sololobueno está tratando de traer a España (informate aquí), que es una de esas canciones que van creciendo poco a poco en intensidad hasta que estallan brutalmente. Seguimos con Rezin, el último grupo grunge de Seattle, para que no decaiga y después volvemos al relax con Den, el grupo de ese pedazo de "oso cabrón" llamado Jens Löwius que es un artista como la copa de un pino. Como no podía ser de otra manera, terminamos a lo bestia, con un temazo de los norteamericanos The Explicits llamado Indestructible, que nos aportará la fuerza necesaria para enfrentarnos de una vez al jefe en caso de que sea necesario.

My biggest issue was not knowing that Da Truth was in Albany, GA that night.  And no I don't listen to the AM Gospel station in my town.  Maybe I should, but I don't.  Why? Because of the format...it's for some folks, but it is not for me.  The few times I have listen to the station I've heard no Holy Hip Hop or Urban Gospel and I need that in my life.  There seems to be a lack of marketing and promotions for this type of event in my area, even though there is a need.  (All my closet HHH/ Urban Gospel Listeners of Southwest GA stand-up and be heard).  In order to keep good life music coming to the area, we must support these artist and surpass their expectations because I'm sure they dread coming to the South (most parts of GA South of Atlanta).  Let's start the discussion, because the world really needs to know what you think.

Blogging has definitely changed the way people communicate nowadays. If blogging has been invented years back when I was still in radio, I'd probably still be in radio. But nah, no regrets. Blogs have helped me today more than ever before and more than it would have had it appeared ten years ago.

His blog's not totally a radio nut, he blogs anything from disease to 99.5 Campus Radio. What I love about his blog though is its concise content. There is just so much you can need to do on the internet these days, so blog posts need to be brief but still punchy.
