Tonight on MTV's Making the Band 4, Season 3!!!

At the live finale of the second season of Making the Band 4, Diddy announced that the subsequent season would feature Danity Kane, Day26, and Donnie Klang on a U.S. Tour, the Making the Band Tour. On August 12th there was a 1 hour special that aired on MTV called "Making The Band's Greatest Hits." The special was hosted by Aubrey from Danity Kane, Donnie Klang and Robert from Day26, looking back on past events throughout the seasons of Making the Band 3 and 4. The new season premiered on August 19, 2008 on MTV.^[1]

This is an awesome thing to have! No more running to the camera to set the timer, missing it, or having to wait forever for it to go off! I set my camera up, get everything ready and click my remote- I have my picture! So simple!

This is exactly what I needed to take pictures of my hummingbirds from inside my plateglass windows (the feeders are on the windows). Like others said, the remote must face the front of the camera, but you can work around that. I placed a mirror against some books in front of the camera, and I am able, with no problem at all, to point the remote at the mirror, where it angles it back to the camera and I can take pictures from my couch from the rear of the camera!

I received my remote yesterday and started playing with it immediately. I could not believe how small the remote was and it came with batteries! The feature I like most is the 2-second timer. Since my Rebel XT only has a 10-second timer, this will come in handy. It also has a bulb mode setting which I will most likely use at some point. This is a great Canon product and for the price...it is worth it.

I was so glad to find this item on Amazon.com. I didn't even realize the wireless remotes were available. I know from some of my older Canon 35MM products the wired remotes with extension (to allow you to be in a group shot and also take the shot) could quickly add up to the area of $100.

This made it much more affordable and I no longer have to deal with that cumbersome cord stretched around the family photos.

The only complaint I have about this product (if you could really call it a complaint) is that it is almost too small. Thank goodness it has a built-in clip that easily attaches to your neck strap or it could be lost easily.

I just purchased my Canon Rebel XSI and wanted to include myself in some family photos. I always used the delay timer in other cameras I have owned and it was always a rush to get back into the picture before the timer activated.

The other feature that is great about using this wireless remote is you can take multiple shots if someone moves or you think you want to retake some shots with different facial expressions.

This is a tiny small accessory that attaches to the neck strap and is always with you when you travel with the camera.

The PKK is fighting for a Kurdish homeland in south-eastern Turkey. Since 1984, when the fighting began, some 40 000 people have been killed.

Turkey has responded to the PKK attacks with two days of bombings aimed at hitting Kurdish rebel bases. The PPK bases in northern Iraq and south-east Turkey were bombed by Turkish air force bombers.

The PKK says it has sustained no casualties as a result of the Turkish attacks, despite there being numerous targets in the bombings. It is believed that several thousand PKK rebels are based in northern Iraq – a staging post for attacks on military targets inside Turkey.

The clashes have been the heaviest between the two forces since early this year.

The PKK is considered a terrorist organisation by the United States and the European Union.

Maoist rebels have claimed responsibility for the murder of Saraswati and four of his followers, yet extremist Hindus have blamed Christians for the murder. The arrest of the two Christians would appear to justify the allegations of the Hindu reactionaries, yet this is still not the case.

While not denying the arrest of these two so-called Christians, the two are also closely connected with the Maoist rebels – a connection which demonstrates more correctly where the blame for Saraswati’s murder should lie.

However, should the blame rest entirely on the shoulders of the two arrested men and not with any other Maoist rebel whatsoever, then the blame would rest on these two men alone and not with Christianity itself. The actions of these two men, if indeed they are guilty of the allegations, is characteristic of behaviour that is not that of true Christianity, but is rather that of ungodliness – as is demonstrated in the behaviour of the godless thugs and terrorists who are currently persecuting Christians and others throughout India.

Should these two men be proven guilty of the murder of Saraswati and his four disciples, it will in no way justify the actions of extremist Hindus involved in assaults, rape, murders, threats, the burning of homes and Christian owned buildings, etc. If these two men are guilty they should face the consequences of their actions as outlined in Indian law, as should each and every Hindu who has participated in criminal behaviour over the last couple of months.

Reports from India indicate that a third person has also been arrested – most likely a Maoist with no interest in Christianity.

It was before the start of our monday meeting and the subject was broach after a fellow student journalist and guilder [member of the CEGP] was killed in an ambush between the NPA and the Philippine Army.

The College Editors Guild of the Philippines, together with other organizations, has already been tagged as an "Enemy of the State" and as a front of the New People's Army. There is this theory that CEGP members, especially those in the higher echelon, are being recruited to join [or in some cases, already members] of the revolutionary movement.

I will not speak of course in behalf of the CEGP because I am only a member, but I will speak for myself.

I am a member of the CEGP and I am proud of it. I believe in the things that CEGP is fighting for; freedom of speech, the rights of the people, the fight against tyranny and corruption and so on. I believe in all these even before I became a member of the guild but does this make me an enemy of the state?

I am ideallistic but not rebellious. I believe that the government has it flaws and that something should be done to end it but I don't believe that joining the revolutionary movement will solve the problems of this country. In fact, I despise the on going conflict between the government and the NPA and all other outlaws in the phillipines.

Armed conflicts does not give any advatange to the country. It only adds to the problems that the country has to solve, it scares of investors and it wastes thousands of lives that could have made a difference in the world.

If I would pick up an M16 rifle and go into the mountains and declare war against the government, will I be helping the country? Will I be helping the Filipino people? No, I don't think so. I will only give problem to my parents and will do more harm than good.

I don't believe in war as a solution to all the problems of this country because the root of this problem is not the conflicting ideologies of Filipinos but the attitudes of the people themselves. Or shall I say, ourselves.

The NPA has been in existence for so many years already and yet the problem still continues; corruption still exists in the government and the Philippines still refuse to develop further. Moreover, I refuse to acknowldge the ideologies that the revolutionary movement teaches. In fact, I refuse to acknowldge them as the "People's Army".

Why? Simple.

-->If they are really for the people then why do they harm ordinary citizens just to get revolutionary taxes? They burn buses, threaten people, and so on just to collect their taxes and only those in the movement can benefit of it.

TI - Swing ya Rag:  Real simple - They swing tha Gucci Rag around cuz they don't dance.  It's a status symbol kinda like sayin' ya made it so you just do whatcha want & swing that Gucci rag.

Lecrae - Don't Waste Your Life:  Gotta figure out what life is about.  Many people wonder.  Lecrae points to scripture and tha fact that Paul said that if Christ ain't resurrected that we waste our lives.  As far as our lives "It ain't no lie, we created for Him, out of tha dust, He made us for Him."  That means we got reason to not waste this life.   Lecrae says, "Forget the money, the cars, you can toss that Ice..."  Later in tha song he talks about people livin high on tha hog and says "Guess what - they didn't ever really live at all, to live is Christ..."

It's that time of year again. Summer has gone, and fall is in full swing. Winter is just around the bend. Around this time of year, people seem to start to change. They relax more, with the hecticness of summer now gone. They settle back into their respective routines, and prepare for the winter ahead. We are creatures of habit, whether we realize it or not. I've recently got back into my fall/winter routine after having last year off. Things didn't go to plan, and we didn't get any wood. It's probably best we didn't though, as that was the time I was away working, and Mum and Mike had both put their backs out. This year we got everything sorted, and the wood arrived mid September. It sure felt good to split, and stack wood again. Even better was the warmth it rewarded when coming into the house on a cool day after working the wood.

I shot this a week or so ago after finishing piling and splitting for the day. I originally shot it for the Bi-Weekly Challenge at Photozo. The theme that time around was 'Patterns'. After shooting for a few more minutes, I came in the house to review and process my shots. I finished working on them all, and went to upload this to the contest. Turns out I just missed the entry deadline. Oh well, there is always another. It is the Bi-weekly challenge, after all.

I am very methodical in how I review and process my shots. A creature of habit, I guess. As soon as I come in, I put my camera on the kitchen table. I then make a coffee, and change into my comfortable clothes. Usually sweat pants/pajama pants, and a comfy shirt/sweater. If it's cold, I stoke the fire and add some wood if need be. I grab my camera and coffee, and head off to the computer.

Now, it's time to get down to business. Memory card goes into the card reader built into the computer. I import the pictures via Windows Photo Gallery. The built in card reader is pretty quick, but I usually have a lot of shots to import. Usually 2-3 minutes for 50-100 frames, and up to 10 minutes for 200-500 frames. During this time I check out my favourite websites for updates. Once the images are done transferring, I roll a smoke. I review all the shots in Windows Photo gallery using the Canon RAW plug in to view RAW images. I delete all the crappy shots. I usually go through them all a second time to delete very similar shots, or not so good shots I kept because I wasn't sure if I had other, better ones.

Now, I head into the processing part. I roll a smoke for this part, too. I bring all the images I kept into Photoshop Elements 6, and they automatically open in Camera RAW. I do my basic global editing there. Adjusting exposure, white balance, minimal sharpening, etc. Once I'm done that, I import them into Photoshop Elements 6.

Now, I do the rest of the editing such as cloning, cropping, levels, etc. Once I'm happy with the shot I save it as either a high quality JPEG, or a Photoshop Document. (.PSD) If I have done a lot of editing to the image I save it as a .PSD, if not, than a high quality JPEG will do. If I will be posting the shots on Photozo or any other website, or sending them to people, etc I resize the image, add my name and copyright, and do my final sharpening. The image gets saved as a medium to low quality JPEG. I always have my original file with no editing, either a JPEG or RAW depending on what I shot, a high quality JPEG or .PSD of the final version, file type depending on the work I did to it, and sometimes resized versions of the final image. Remember, ALWAYS keep your original, un edited version, and a full size, high quality version of your final image. You never know what you might want to do with it down the road.

Once all the editing is done, everything gets moved to my pictures folder. The resized versions get posted to the web, than deleted. I will write more about my pictures folder some other time. It's really organized, and I find it quite easy to work with. Maybe it could help you too?

Not the prettiest thing.

He can get me smiling for hours and it never gets old.

But he's a dumb shit.

He only has 2 credits, and he's in Grade 11.

I was never that kind of girl.

Tina and I were married on May 22, 2008 in Kentucky under the most green trees I have seen. It was a memorable day as our children witnessed our love for each other, brought to life by our incredible God.

Every day is a honeymoon.  Tina and I view each day as a gift from God.   Our children are happy; we make sure that we also spend time alone with each other.  "Date nights" every Friday night put a new meaning on TGIF!!

Life is good.  It doesn't get any better than this!

God has brought me full circle.  From the pits of pain and despair to excitement and never-ending love.  Truly I am a blessed man.

There must be some rule book somewhere that states thou shall procreate asap after the wedding.  And if I tell people, “one day we will but we’re enjoying ourselves right now” it’s like there’s something wrong with you.  The glares, the puzzled glances - it’s enough to drive anyone a little bit mad.  I was at a bridal shower a couple of weeks ago and a friend’s new born baby was in attendance – sweet little thing (see, I can think babies are cute) – and someone (thank you by the way) suggested I hold him.  I have to admit, babies scare me.  It’s their fragility that scares me.  I worry if I lean their head on an awkward angle or take too long to make them comfortable I’m liable to hurt them.  I obliged and held the baby; he lasted about three seconds before crying.  Three seconds!  His mom was extremely kind and said he was hungry and I appreciated the consoling but I knew that wasn’t the only thing.

Clearly, there are some things to work out here on my end before I embrace the possibility of pregnancy.  There are women who naturally cling to babies, toddlers, children period and there are those who grow into it.  I’m the latter (in case that wasn’t obvious) and so what if it takes me longer to get used the idea of carrying a live human being inside of me.  And to the inquisitors, I’ll try and reduce the number of loose sweaters I wear (thank goodness I don’t own that many) and you’ll know when my bun starts to bake.

Blogging helped, and I'm glad I've had the urge to write again. The last blog that I had was in Blogspot, and I've never visited that site in 5 years now so I wanted to make a new one, a fresh start, I should say.

This is me, ranting. So deal with it. I'm just bored and it's only 9am.

And I sooooooooo want a Canon Rebel XSi/ 450D DSLR. pretty please..

Played basketball a few days ago. It's starting to get cold now so the park was almost empty. Had my Rebel XSI to take pics while the guys were shooting around. They didn't mind at all so it gave me more chance to play with the camera. What sucks is that while I was uploading the pics to my computer, I realized I forgot to turn image stabilization ON the lens. This meant I could've taken clearer pictures! Ugh... I won't forget again.

Hey Family,

The day has finally arrived.  We've put months and months of hard work into Lecrae's 3rd album "Rebel".  In a hectic deadline driven existence the release date is like a big exhale (unless you realize a big artwork error or something else has been made).  

Some crazy things happened with this one.  We had to get the album remixed in a week (it usually takes a month) right before the final master was due at the manufacturer because the mixes weren't sounding good to us.  Then in the middle of the manufacturing run, the company went out of business!  They didn't even tell anybody and it was a major manufacturer in Nashville.  So at the last minute we had to find another manufacturer, and just BARELY made the CD's to the stores on time. 

But all that is behind and now we are loving the release date's arrival.  Our prayer is that many will be exposed to an authentic, biblical worldview and people all over the world will be passionate about rebelling against popular culture to follow Jesus Christ with all their heart, soul, mind and strength.  We appreciate all the support you've shown.  If you can, please let your readers know about the album hitting shelves and being available today.

I passed a police car on the highway today!

I put it to the man; fought the authorities; made a statement.

It was touch and go for a while, but after 10 kilometers of side by side furious 90 km per hour driving and numerous speedometer checks I edged ahead of him.

note: it was raining, so he didn't really eat any dust.
