Aunque algunas personas pusieron en entredicho la creatividad de los RHCP debido a las numerosas similitudes con el hit de Tom Petty y los Heartbreakers, "Mary Jane's Last Dance", de 1993, no cabe duda que se trata de un tema extraordinario, casi tanto como su video, obra del magistral director Tony Kaye, autor de American History X.

En el podemos ver a los miembros de la banda, caracterizados de varios personajes míticos de la historia del rock: (en orden de aparición): Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Prince con Cream, Parliament-Funkadelic, David Bowie con T-Rex, Sex Pistols, The Misfits, Mötley Crüe , Nirvana y finalmente como ellos mismos.

El año 2007 fue mejor en lo que a conciertos se refiere en mi ciudad, en junio vino Camila, y aunque en ese entonces no me sabia todas sus canciones, las disfrute como nunca, y en septiembre Ricky Martin, uuyy! ese si que estuvo buenisimo, todo el escenario, sus canciones, sus bailarinas, en si.. todo el perfomance.

Y en este 2008 tengo desde marzo que no voy, fue de Maná, y estuvimos en la 5ta fila si mal no recuerdo.. el boleto lo compramos desde enero, y la cuenta regresiva se fue mas rápida de lo que pensé, coreamos todas las canciones, días despues seguia traumada escuchandolos en mi laptop.

Hace rato vienen anunciando un par de ellos en mi ciudad, el que acaba de pasar fue Marco Antonio Solís, si me gusta, para que negarlo, pero.. no andaba en el mood ni tampoco tenia dinero, y justamente días atrás, comentaba que Julieta Venegas si me gusta, pero.. como que no me gusta su desenvolvimiento en el escenario, lo digo por lo que vi en su unplugged, despues, viene Ricardo Montaner algo muuuy romantico, lo bueno que en septiembre ya no hace tanto calor para poder derrochar miel junto con él jaja..

Claro! no son los unicos que han venido o estan por venir, pero en lo que a mis gustos se refiere, pues son solo esos, esperemos que antes de que finalize el año me sorprendan y vengan algunos más, de aquellos que me emocionan tanto que no puedo esperar por ver.

Ojalá pronto pueda ver en vivo y en directo a los RHCP, Ricardo Arjona, u2, Jaguares (que aunque ya los vi, los volveria a ver, por supuesto que no lo dudaría), o un concierto como Live 8 y tantos más, que si me pongo a enlistarlos, nunca terminaría.

En fin, a disfrutarlos como vengan llegando.

¿Se rompen los Red Hot Chili Peppers? Lo cierto es que no había escuchado ni leído nada al respecto (aunque sí deseado), pero Chad Smith (batería) ha hecho unas declaraciones al Rhythm Magazine en las que defiende la continuidad de la banda californiana ante rumores de ruptura y desavenencias entre sus integrantes.

"No nos rompemos, nadie odia a nadie ni nada por el estilo. Sólo nos estamos tomando un tiempo libre sano para hacer otras cosas", comenta Chad.

"Hemos estado girando durante un año y medio, y nos hemos dicho: cojamos un año libre. No lo habíamos hecho desde que John Frusciante volvió a la banda hace casi 10 años. Escribimos canciones, luego las grabamos, luego vamos de tour durante un año y medio; después volvemos a escribir canciones, y hemos hecho esto tres veces", relata el batería de los Peppers.

Chad también apela a los intereses individuales para justificar el parón: "Anthony (Kiedis) ha tenido un bebé, John (Frusciante) prepara su nuevo disco en solitario y Flea tiene sus habituales asuntos. Todos necesitábamos un tiempo libre fuera de los Chili Peppers".

¿Lo mejor por venir?

Con todo, Chad cree que el mejor trabajo de los Peppers está por llegar, algo que dudo mucho dada la progresiva decadencia musical de la banda, cuya excelencia creativa parece irrecuperable. Blood Sugar Sex Magic, sobre todo, y Californication, han sido el cénit del grupo.

Pero Chad Smith se aferra a sus ilusiones: "Musicalmente, parte de lo mejor de nosotros está aún por venir".

"Nunca pensé que Red Hot Chili Peppers fuera a durar más de tres o cuatro años. Esto empezó como una broma, saltando por ahí con calcetines en nuestras pollas. Somos muy afortunados por seguir, y la gente todavía quiere vernos tocar y disfrutar nuestros discos. Somos afortunados y lo apreciamos", explica Chad Smith.

En fin, Chad, lo mejor es que acabéis de una vez con la parodia de Red Hot Chili Peppers que estáis llevando por el mundo desde que publicasteis By the Way y que habéis redondeado con el también infumable Stadium Arcadium, del que podríais tirar a la basura tres cuartas partes de los temas (no porque sean malos, sino porque no alcanzan el nivel exigible a Red Hot Chili Peppers).

Además, le haríais un favor a Frusciante dejándole totalmente libre para sus proyectos en solitario. John siempre ha sido un virtuoso, un ser emocional y creativo, y sus creaciones han ido in crescendo sin límite.

John es un genio que debe seguir su camino. Y no sabes la alegría que me das, Chad, cuando dices que John ya está trabajando en un nuevo proyecto. De los Peppers ya no espero nada, de John Frusciante, lo inimaginable.

Pero como los RHCP son favoritos de este blog, se les perdona casi todo. Sobre todo porque son capaces de temazos y vídeos tan buenos como Can't stop, inspirado en las "esculturas en un minuto" del austríaco Erwin Wurm.

El dueño de Back-Lite, Gary Shaffer, aceptó estampar el logo en la chaqueta para un fan de los Peppers que la quería lucir en la entrega de los Grammy de este año. Este admirador no recibió cargos por la prenda, ya que fue considerada un artículo de promoción.

“Ellos afirman que hay una posibilidad de que yo haya hecho millones de dólares en ganancias con mercadería con derechos de autor, lo que no es cierto”, ha comentado Shaffer, quien denuncia que la demanda es una “extorsión”.

Xavier de Rosnay si Gaspard Auge vor produce viitorul material discografic RHCP, desi nu au mai facut acest lucru pentru nici un alt artist, mentioneaza The Sun.

Albumul de debut intitulat + al celor de la Justice , aparut in 2007, a fost nominalizat la Grammy in acest an in cadrul categoriei Best Electronica Album, iar piesa D.A.N.C.E. a intrat in cursa pentru Best Dance Recording si Best Video.

2) Serj Tankian, solistul System Of A Down, a lansat un nou EP care se intituleaza Lie Lie Live. [yay :D ]

So finally my wish came true. Harmonix and MTV games decided to release a couple more Red Hot Chili Pepper songs. Alongside the release also came a couple of Rush songs, which no one can complain about. The songs cost $2 a pop as usual. About a week ago, I posted a review of the first disc from the Red Hot Chili Pepper's "Stadium Arcadium".  Just thought I'd finish the job and do the second half of the album.  If you'd like to read about the album and/or read my review of Jupiter (the first disc in Stadium Arcadium) click here.  Well, here's my review of Mars.

1. Desecration Smile: This song is probably the best from this side of the album, has an older Chili Peppers sound to it. 10/10
2. Tell Me Baby: Has a slow start, and then picks up with a nice beat, also a very good song, with a nice and catchy chorus.  9/10
3. Hard to Concentrate: I lied, this is actually my favorite song from this side, and one of my favorites from the entire album.  It's got a great off-beat feel and a really great lyrical style, just a great song.  11/10
4. 21st Century: Starts out with a fairly fast beat, and then picks up even more, also a great song.  9/10
5. She Looks to Me: A really great chorus, and a pretty good rest of the song.  8/10
6. Readymade: A driving and catchy bass part, and a pretty good chorus too.  8/10
7. If: A very pretty song, and has great lyrics to accompany the soft instrumental part.  9/10
8. Make You Feel Better:  A pretty good song, but just not my favorite from the album.  7/10
9. Animal Bar: A slower song, but the chorus is great and picks the song up a little.  8/10
10. So Much I:  It's an alright song, but it's just not anything special.  5/10
11. Storm In a Teacup: A clever intro, with the vocals, and otherwise a pretty good song.  7/10
12. We Believe: A really good song, a great chorus which features a choir the second time around. 10/10
13. Turn It Again: A pretty good song, and as a trombonist, I appreciate the small brass parts towards the end.  8/10
14. Death of a Martian: A great song, and a very good choice for ending the album, even if the ending is a little strange.  9/10

This is an album that I've really enjoyed lately and I felt I owed it a review.  Minus a very few, this album is full of extremely great songs and while it's a little different from old RHCP albums, it works well.  Overall I give Mars from Stadium Arcadium a 8.4/10.  I give Stadium Arcadium as a whole a 8.25/10.

Apparently Madonna's seeking a divorce or something. Maybe Guy Ritchie will go back to making, you know, sort of fun movies and stuff.

There's a deluxe addition of the Bob Dylan documentary Don't Look Back coming out, according to Paste. The phrase "impassive Nico" almost seems redundant.

The guys in Slipknot have some new masks. That's so punk. But no, does anyone still listen to these guys? Bueller? Bueller? They're so yesterday, so yesterday.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers (who have managed to ruin XM Satellite Radio's music stations for me -- I mean, honestly, how often can you hear Snow (Hey Oh) before you go crazy?) are thinking of having Justice produce their next album. Why? How? ...what? I have only heard a couple Justice songs, but they're headlining the music festival me and my besties are going to in September. Thing is, I have no idea what Justice could possibly have in common with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Like. At all.

Whoo! Annie's (check out her song Chewing Gum) sophomore effort is due out in October. Pitchfork details the CD's track listing.

The Red Hot Chili Pepper's ninth album, released May 5th, 2006 debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.  In it's first week, it sold over 400,000 copies, and to date has sold over 7 million copies.  It is a two-disc album featuring the hit singles: "Dani California", "Snow", "Hump de Bump", "Desecration Smile", and "Tell Me Baby".  It recieved mostly good reviews, and stayed at number one for over 4 weeks.  The album contains two discs, each with 14 songs for a total of 28 songs and over two hours of music.  Here's my review of the first disc: Jupiter from Stadium Arcadium.

1. Dani California: This was a great song the first few times you heard it, but sooner or later you got tired of it after radio stations wore it out.  8/10
2. Snow: This is also a great song, and was played a lot, just not as much as Dani California, I also like this song a little better. 9/10
3. Charlie: Has a good feel, and is a little different, but Kiedis' "huh"'s were an unneeded addition, but otherwise a pretty good song. 7/10
4. Stadium Arcadium: The albums title track is my favorite from Jupiter, it's calm with a good instruments and back-up-vocals. 10/10
5. Hump De Bump: Another fairly popular track from the album, it's a good song, with a nice addition with the trumpet. 8/10
6. She's Only 18: A good bass-line at the beginning and a very catchy chorus, a pretty good song. 8.5/10
7. Slow Cheetah: A really good song, with a relaxing guitar part, and good back-up-vocals.  9/10
8. Torture Me: I like this one about as much as Stadium Arcadium, mostly because of Flea's awesome bass part in it, the addition of trumpet, and the style the lyrics are sung.  10/10
9. Strip My Mind: A little slower, but calm and relaxing, with a fairly catchy chorus, but a pretty good song.  8/10
10. Especially in Michigan: Probably one of the most catchy songs on the album, with a good chorus, also one of my favorites.  9/10
11. Warlocks: A good bass part but not that great a song.  5/10
12. C'mon Girl: A nice pressing beat, good bass, and a kind-of catchy chorus, an okay song.  6/10
13. Wet Sand:  A relaxing song, a good song for towards the end of the album, and a short whistling solo.  7.5/10
14. Hey: A really good song to end the disc, a pretty and calm song, and a great chorus.  8/10

Overall this is a really good half of a huge album, and is a lot of music.  But the more you listen the more you start to appreciate all the work that went into it.  I give Jupiter, from Stadium Arcadium an 8.1/10.  For my review of Mars (the second disc of Stadium Arcadium, click here.
