Personally, Hanyuu would be a obvious choice, seeing as she's relatively unfettered by a lot of voter hate. I go with her horns at any rate. Seto IIRC didn't have a very good showing.

Also, Unlimited Kirino works please. She took her group by a landslide. And so, as I pray, the same here.

Scharfe Kurven und F-Löcher – semiakustische E-Gitarren im Stil der Gibson ES-335 -Familie liegen mir sehr am Herzen.

Von meiner Epiphone Casino habe ich ja schon mehrfach geschwärmt. Im Gegensatz zu "richtigen" Semis ist der Korpus einer Casino (oder der einer ES-330) ganz hohl.

Das schöne Stück in kirschrot ist eine relative seltene ES-335-Kopie aus den späten Siebzigern: eine japanische Kasuga. Der Vorbesitzer (wer immer er/sie war) hat irgendwann den Plastiksattel gegen einen (in den Achzigern angesagten) Messingsattel ausgetauscht. Auch die verkapselten Mechaniken sind nicht original.

Die Kasuga kopiert treu die ES-335, so wie sie in den Siebzigern von Gibson zu haben war: Der Hals ist am Sattel recht schmal und sein Profil eher flach. Unterhalb des Sattels befindet sich eine Volute. Der Mittelbalken im Korpus ist zwischen den beiden Tonabnehmern zu 80% herunter gefräst. Anstatt einer Stopbar fungiert hier ein Trapez als Saitenhalter.

Die Kasuga hat von der Ausgangsleistung her sehr moderate Tonabnehmer, was einem bluesigen und dynamischen Spiel sehr entgegen kommt.

Ich habe diese Gitarre vor gut zehn Jahren auf einem Flohmarkt für nur ca. 70 € erstanden. Die armen Irren wussten scheinbar nicht, was für ein Sahnestückchen sie mir da verkauft haben.

I had just left a lawyer's appontment and I was headed down I65. The accident occured during construction traffic. The cars in front of me were slowing down but the semi behind me never stopped. Something told me to look in the rear view mirror. No I don't hear voices. Call it intuition. I looked and saw the semi coming. I still see the trucks grill in my nightmares... The crash made me hit my head on the steering wheel. I felt my body get tossed like a doll. Thank God I was wearing a seat belt otherwise I would have been ejected. Thank God my three boys weren't seated in the back. Everything that was on my dashbord flew to the back of the truck. I don't think loose papers would decapitate anyone  but you may never know. I remember screaming oh God help me. The whole rear glass of the suv was broken. I had no idea how much the rest of the truck was damaged. I remember some how putting the truck in park. And then I could hear the emergency sirens. The first young and very cute emt to respond said "Mam Mam are you ok?" "Don't move" He wanted to cut off the seat belt I said no. Duh!!! I look back on that now. What the heck was I thinking? I guess I thought my prize suv from the divorce could be saved lol...........

Note to self.... There are somethings that can never be saved no matter how hard you try. I guess I tried too hard to save alot of thing in my life.....Only to realize that in the end I failed. My biggest failure was my last divorce........Do I regret it? No. Out of that short marriage I have received a precious gift.......My youngest son

Maybe a "factor" in choosing safety over economy, should be respecting the semi in the first place. Cut one off, drive in it's blind spots, drive like an idiot around one, be accepting of Newton's Law when it plows into you.

If your[the] logic were true, then we should all be driving actual tanks, but then we would not be safe from each other, so then we should upgrade to something larger to be safe?

How many of those accidents we caused by the driver in the car being "preoccupied" with other things; cell phone, makeup, eating, reading, etc. or just being an idiot and not respecting the semi and cut it off?

and just some information from Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

In 2005, large trucks accounted for 7% of all vehicle miles traveled and 3% of all registered vehicles in the United States. In motor vehicle crashes, large trucks represented:

* 8% of vehicles in fatal crashes
* 3% of vehicles in injury crashes
* 5% of vehicles in property-damage-only crashes.

So 92% of fatal accidents and 97% of injury crashes were not semi related? and further about blame of accident...

Drivers

* Only 1% of the drivers of large trucks involved in fatal crashes in 2005 were legally intoxicated (blood alcohol content of 0.08 grams per deciliter or higher), as compared with 22% of passenger car drivers and 21% of light truck drivers in fatal crashes. Only 2% of the drivers of large trucks involved in fatal crashes had any alcohol in their bloodstream.
* Seventy-seven percent of the drivers of large trucks involved in fatal crashes were reported by police as wearing their safety belts, compared with 61% of passenger vehicle drivers involved in fatal crashes.
* In fatal crashes involving large trucks, driver-related factors were cited for 39% of the large truck drivers. In comparison, driver-related factors were noted for 66% of passenger vehicle drivers involved in fatal crashes. Some of the most common factors cited for drivers of large trucks and drivers of passenger vehicles were the same: driving too fast, failure to keep in proper lane, inattention, and failure to yield the right of way.

Hmm, passenger vehicles are 22 times more likely to have alcohol in their system and almost twice as likely to have caused the accident due to "inattention" etc. and finally,

In all two-vehicle fatal crashes involving a large truck and a passenger vehicle, the passenger vehicle struck the large truck more often than the reverse—54% versus 40%.

I like this one, passenger vehicles are more likely to hit semi's than the other way around. Apparently, many people to not apply Newton's Law when driving.

so honestly, you're reasoning behind larger being safer doesn't hold as much statistical evidence as you claim. I safer driver in a compact vehicle is more likely to "drive" away, than a "large vehicle" driver involved with an accident with a semi, due to driver negligence.

Statements of "Bigger is better" often times do not match statistical data to the contrary :)

Dans le détail, ce que nous prévoyons semer cette saison:

Pour commencer, il fallait leur faire un petit nid douillet à nos graines. Sauf que du terreau à semis, j'en ai pas et à quasi 5 euros le petit paquet de 10 litres, ça me freine ( j'avais bien un petit fond de paquet mais j'ai jamais retrouvé le bon carton ... )

Donc en route pour une recette maison : 3 volumes de sable pour 2 volumes de terreau universel ( j'avais que ça sous la main ) Mais le terreau universel, c'est pas de plus fin.
Allez hop ! Réquisition du tamis de David pour trier tout ça. Y'a plus qu'a secouer tout ça de nos vaillantes petites mains !

En fouillant, j'ai retrouvé ma plaque de cellule de semis ( une sur les trois que j'avais, c'est déjà un bon début ... ) sauf que j'ai ni le fond, ni le couvercle.
Mamounette m'a alors fourni un vieux bac à chat ( pour la litière ) en guise de fond.

On a commencé par mettre des toutes petites billes d'argile dans le fond des 60 cellules.

Pi, Mamounette, de sa douce main, a rempli le tout de notre terreau maison...

En tout, on a planté 8 graines de potirons et 42 de cornichons.

Comme on avait plus le couvercle donc, il a bien faillu en bidouiller un. On a donc récupérer les arceaux de la capote de mon couffin de bébé, que Mamounette avait mis de coté en début de semaine.
Je l'ai fixé avec des boulons sur le bac à litière.

Et voila notre "diligence" comme on l'appelle, recouverte d'un film perforé. Ça fait haut mais ça nous sera bien utile quand les potirons auront pris de la hauteur et qu'il faudra les garder à l'abri jusqu'à fin juin.
Pour la nuit, je rentre les semis au chaud dans la cave et je les recouvre d'un voile.

Comme j'ai l'impression que ça pousse plus que lentement ( pour des radis de 18 jours, je leur ai fais un petit tunnel de forçage avec des corps de bouteilles de Badoit ( Mamounette, fournisseur officiel de bouteilles vides !! rires )
J'ai laissé une partie " à l'air " ( en plus, j'avais pu assez de bouteilles ^^ ) comme ça, je pourrais voir si ça fait une différence de les couvrir ou non.

Les tomates se trouvant à côté des radis ( visibles sur la photo ci-dessus ) ont été vraiment malmenés pendant la tempête d'il y a une dizaine de jours....
Mais quelle surprise de voir un début de fleurs !

On a quand même enlever le voile pour tuteuriser tout le monde, enlever les gourmands et faire un apport d'engrais ( les Cobra F1 avaient mauvaise mine )
J'ai aussi semé deux nouvelles lignes de radis ( entre les panneaux jaunes ), ce qui me permettra de voir comment ça pousse sous voile de croissance ( et savoir quelle technique est la meilleure )

Les tomates-cerises SuperSweet se portent en revanche très bien ! Voici les prémices des futurs fruits :

Et voici un fameux gourmand, c'est une ramification pousse à la jonction de la tige et d'une branche. Mieux vaut l'enlever car ça pompe l'énergie du pied et c'est une ramification qui ne fera pas de fruits
( Ne cherchez pas de gourmands sur les Tomates Olivettes, c'est une des seules espèces qui n'en a pas ;-) )

J'ai également désherbé autour de la lavande et de notre premier framboisier ( un Automn Bliss )

C'est incroyable ce que le framboisier a profité en à peine un an ! Nous voici maintenant avec 11 pieds, ce qui lui a offert le droit d'être tuteuriser lui aussi.

La mâche refuse tout simplement de germer. Il y a bien quelques pousses ici et là, mais ca demeure...moche. Nous en avons donc semé pour une troisième fois! Est-ce le sol, où a poussé auparavant quantité d'ail, qui n'est pas adapté, ou encore, simplement le soleil brûlant du mois de juillet? Enfin...c'est en jardinant qu'on devient jardinier!

Avant de vous annoncer prochainement une réjouissante nouvelle qui pour le moment demeure officieuse, nous vous laissons sur cette vue d'ensemble de notre prospère potager.

On s'est fait une de ces salades de betteraves/fèves/ail de la mort! C'était franchement délicieux! Et que dire de nos petites courgettes jaunes sautées dans la poêle! Alors bref, ça pousse bien et nous en profitons :-)

Par contre, quelques petites déceptions: la mâche semée récemment lève très peu (mais nous en replanterons prochainement) et les petits concombres libanais qui ont du fil à retordre. Est-ce la pluie abondante des derniers jours? Faut dire qu'ils n'ont jamais parus bien dans leurs pots (...peau...bon ok). Une jardinière voisine nous a dit qu'il se pourrait que ce soit dû à la proximité des courgettes. Ce qu'on peut douter d'après ce que la littérature raconte...Enfin. Elle nous a aussi dit que nous avions un très beau jardin!

On avait déjà mentionné que le jardin est à côté de la ferme Angrignon? Voici donc Serge le petit lama.

Yé! On est en bonne position de mettre ce vieux jardinier grincheux K.O.! Aujourd'hui nous avons eu droit à son premier commentaire positif:

" Il est très beau votre jardin. Ça pousse bien."

Journée de congé. Nous en avons profité pour faire quelques opérations potagères:

• Fait (un peu trop) le ménage dans les plants d'ail.
• Ajouté une demie poche de terre et de composte.
• Semé de la mâche, des haricots, et de la grosse blonde paresseuse.
• Planté de la menthe poivrée et une botte d'avoine bleue (yé!).
• Cueillis des fleurs de zucchinis.

Nos betteraves hâtives seront bientôt prêtes à récolter...et à manger! Miam!

New Zealand and Sri Lanka square it off at Sabina Park on Tuesday. Sri Lanka's bowling attack has performed well so far in the tournament and it remains to be seen if Lasith Malinga will play the crucial match after missing out in the last few games. Both teams received a drubbing at the hands of the Aussies in the Super Eight, and will be hoping to avenge the same by beating the Australians in the finals.

For New Zealand, Shane Bond will be the key. Bond has looked a bit jaded and missed out on the game against Australia. However, one doesn't know whether he was unfit or skipper Fleming was pulling a fast one in order to give some rest to his bowler apart from not wanting to play him against Australia. Sri Lanka would know, they too 'rested' Chaminda Vaas and Muttiah Muralitharan against the Aussies. Malinga didn't play that match as well. So, one things for sure, both these teams know who they facing in the finals.

It will be interesting to see how the Sri Lankans play the Kiwi spinners. Fleming must play his best bowlers and Bond, Jacob Oram, Jeetan Patel and Daniel Vettori fit in automatically. Scott Styris and Craig Mcmillan will also bowl, and so the toss-up will be between James Franklin and Mark Gillespie if the Kiwis play one more bowler. Franklin would bring a bit of variety into the attack, if he is consistent with his line that is.

The difference between winning and losing in this match could boil down to how the Kiwis handle Murali. Scott Styris needs to take charge in the middle and keep the Sri Lankan spinners at bay. This will be in all probability the more exciting of the two semi-finals.

Talking about exciting matches, the semi at St Lucia will be if the South Africans are up to the task. The Australian top-order has the likes of Matthew Hayden and Ricky Ponting, and it will take some effort to dislodge them from the crease. Even if they are, the Aussies have the Michaels - Clarke and Hussey, Andrew Symonds and Shane Watson to rely on.

South Africa will need Pollock to fire early on and perhaps should give Andre Nel the new ball. The South African middle-order will need to support their openers, and Justin Kemp has been a mere observer in the games he has played in. Perhaps the South Africans could ask him to do some pinch-hitting or play Loots Bosman. Maybe they could also bring in Makhaya Ntini which will give Smith an additional bowling option which may be needed if the Aussies get a good start as they have been accustomed to.
