And so so so so SO much more (check out myspace link!!)

The dude who started all of this is going to be one popular guy! Check out his interview for an insight into his kooky personality.

How did you come up with the name?
I guess i just thought it was funny! It was sorta inspired by all those amazing parties in NY and LA right now, alot of them have snaps like FUCKKK YEAHHH, and OH SNAPPP!, and CHECK YO! and all that kinda thing , so yeah BITCH!PLEASE! was definatly inspired by those kinda current parties :)

Tell me a little about yourself?
My names Hickey/Daniel/Casper whatever you want to call me :) lol. But my family calls me Daniel. I grew up in the North of England and now live in Perth Australia :) I live in the ghetto known as Rockingham. I sorta don't fit in there however. But love it and defend my town with vicious verbal daggers. lol.

What exactly is it that you do?
I have a real job of course. but in the context your asking me, i throw parties ! They are called BITCH!PLEASE! and we turn a little bar called BAR138 into a nightclub lookin thinggg the last saturday of every month and just have a great great time :)

What did you do before the starting?
I djed alot around the city. I got a residency @ SHAPE and played there lots and lots of times. Its really great there, but i just got the itch to start throwing my own nights.

How did you start out/ was it hard?
Hmmm, it wasn't 'hard' per-say, it was hard work setting it all up but I basically just asked the owner of the bar if i could throw a saturday night party and he was cool enough to trust me, all the way, and let me do it :) I djed bar 138s friday night INNERCITYBEATZ a couple of times and thats how i sort of got involved with the bar, and the owner.

--Random questions--
What one materialistic thing can you not live without?
Hmmm, aww man i dont know, boring answer as it is probably my diary. I think i probably need a diary more than anybody else ive ever met. I forget EVERYTHING, if i think of something i need to or something i need to write down i drop everything and run to my diary (even if im at work) at write it down because ill forget it. So yeah, my diary, other than that, my toy collection :) Id be pretty gutted if that got...burned down..or something.

What have you learnt from doing what you do?
Thats its totally definatly what i want to do with my life ? lol..Ive been at uni and done 4 semesters of 5 different courses, thats more than a change a semester, so therefore, gathered that it wasnt for me, throwing these parties feels right, i just want it to grow bigger and bigger untill we have every like minded cat in the city tangled in our web !

Do you have a secret name for your favourite inanimate object?
Yes ! aha Bluey ! Its an oragami crab that sits on the front of my friends dash board. Im very attatched to him..

Has this helped in picking up girls/boys?
Ya know what, its SUPPOSSED to , and id say it does with everybody else ! But i have this wierd paradox where im far too shy or far too forward, aha, i dont really have an inbetween, it doesnt help me out !

Did anything crazy or embarrassing happened to you during the opening night?
Thunderclaps got embarassed when they pulled the power chord out ! ahaha. I love those guys though, they can't do anything wrong in my book. Crazy, um there was a guy dancing around with one of the bubble machines i bought strapped to his head ? and everybody was making piles of car tires id painted fluro colours to sit on. It was all rather surreal :)

So, it has been a while. Anybody that put any faith in me probably has given up by now. I know all of you. You want a steady stream of content. New things to read and contemplate. Well contemplate this mothafuckas!

[audio http://ia311320.us.archive.org/2/items/GovernmentHousing/HouseStyleeMp3.mp3]

This is my new dj mix. Here is the list of songs I used:

Dj Blaqstarr - Hey MF's
Late of the Pier - Space and the Woods (the c90s Remix)
New Young Pony Club - Ice Cream (Herve Goes Bananas Remix)
ACDC - Thunderstruck (Tittsworth Remix)
Roisin Murphy - Overpowered (Herve Remix)
Crookers - My Penny
Boys Noise - My Head (Para One Remix)
Jamelia - Something About You (Crookers Crunky Remix)
The Count of Monte Cristal - Bounce That Ass
Spank Rock - Bump (Switch Remix)
Crookers - Aguas De Parco
Princess Superstar - Licky (Herve Goes Low Remix)
Liquid - Sweet Harmony (Streetlife Djs Mix)
Scotch - Penguin's Invasion (Hot Version)
Sinden and The Count of Monte Cristal - We Don't Give a Damn
South Rakkas Crew - Mad Again (Boy 8-Bit Remix)

Now I know what some of you might say: "Some of this music is from last year or (gasp!) two years ago." Well indeed that is true and some of it is from the 80's. Really I don't give a fuck. I just play music and try to come of with the most compelling mixes possible with two record players and a mixer. Really the pleasure of djing for me (if you have not figured it out yet from previous posts) is the mixing of disparate styles. I think an older or even overplayed song can be elevated by creating a synthesis with another song. When I dj, rather than seeing it as an opportunity to show how in the know I am, I use it more as an excuse to make different mixes. It is easy to play one song after the other and make them mix in together but the way I see it, the songs are just links betwenn new mixes. I'm not trying to say I'm special. Just explain myself.

Artwork from Hedi Slimane's Diary

More Fake Blood. Now. I'm not even so concerned as to who or what he/she is. I'm over it. Yeah, he's not Boy 8-Bit, fine. That's all gravy. Why can't he sport a mask like Danger and speak through a third party so nobody hears his voice? Why doesn't he do shows? Everyone and their mother is waiting for more remixes, more singles, and I can't play out the ones that I have found scattered throughout the blogosphere. One of my favorite works of his is the remix of Little Boot's "Stuck on Repeat". Alone it's a stellar single by the UK duo, and an interesting curve ball with a fidgety stomp once Fake Blood applies his magic. Wait til the bridge of the track clears- almost as good as sex, baby. I've been hearing Fake Blood everywhere I go, nowadays..

Little Boots - Stuck On Repeat (Fake Blood Remix)

While briefly mentioning Boy 8-Bit, I might as well throw you guys a remix of his that blew my mind what seemed to be forever ago- to say the least. This South Rakkas Crew remix of "Mad Again" is from the single release off Mad Decent. On top of the 8-Bit remix, there's a killer version done by Drop The Lime that boils down very nicely. What isn't on that release is the DJ Sega version. I've been meaning to get to posting some Sega for a while now, but haven't been offered a proper window yet. Here it is, I guess.

A few weeks ago, on a forum that I like to keep tabs on, UK based DJ Foamo did a post where he dropped his new Summer Mixtape. I'm pretty impressed, through and through- it's definitely worth a listen. Included is a remix of Primary1 that I had been digging on a little while back, featuring the fidget stomp that seems to be blowing up more and more lately. I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on this guy.

One Jape remix that really caught my ear back in November was the Tronik Youth version of "Floating". You might remember the more recent D.I.M. version that I posted a little while back, along with a few other blogs at the time, but Tronik Youth's version is yet another example what awesome things can be done with Jape's work. Take the lyrics out, loop the chorus for five minutes and then drop them back in with what sounds like the strumming and plucking of a mandalin and you have the Prins Thomas Version. So delicate and fragile. The Prins Thomas verion is featured on the official "Floating" single album, that has other versions by the likes of Alex Metric and San Green. There's also a Bobmo version out there somewhere in the vast galaxy of music blogs. In a more concrete world, Jape released his "Ritual" album on the 7th of June, so go grab a copy of it if you're liking what you're hearing and peep the video for "Floating", too. The lyrics are so powerful in that track, I can see why artists gravitate towards it so frequently. 'A lifetime is short, and death is so long. I don't believe in no heaven, i just hope that i'm wrong.'

In a more static-y direction, we have us Circo Bazooko, an Italian group that was recommended to me during the Crookers contest. Like the Crookers, Circo Bazooko come from Milan, Italy. And they were kind enough to send me a few of their tracks the other day. Their blend is an interesting one, with a fusion of punk rock, electro, and a technique known as 'circuit bending'- Circuit bending is the creative, DIY (Do It Yourself) short-circuiting of electronic devices such as low voltage, battery-powered guitar effects, children's toys and small digital synthesizers to create new musical instruments and sound generators. [wikipedia] Here are a few exclusive examples of what they are all about.

Deadmau5 touched on Mickey Slim's "Jump Around" remix a bit ago. Same lush bass tones that you can come to expect from the master of club floors. It's an 8 minute banger, full quality, packed in with an original feel that's been layered over. Can't help but sing-along with it.. "Feelin Funky. Amps in the trunk. And I got more rhymes that there's cops in a Dunkin Donuts shop.."Deadmau5 will be in New York on July 18th at the Fillmore, Redrocks on the 19th in Colorado, and then at the Virgin Music Festival in Baltimore on August 10th for those of you that are lucky enough to be in those areas. For those of you at Cream on August 21st.. in Ibiza.. I hate you. That is all.

If you read often, and haven't figured out that I go wild over just about anything that Etienne De Crecy gets his hands on, you might as well start backtracking on my posts because there's a lot of love there. No, he's not coming to the states this summer- but I wish he would. Check out this video of his from Melt Festival. Crecy was recently featured ont they Mylo "Paris 400" Remix CD along with SebastiAn & aswefall. He was also on the Bumblebeez "Rio" single, with his remix that is well worth checking out. For now, here's a track he remixed of Namito & Martin Eyerer called "Quipa", released one year ago tomorrow, that I will be running to later today. It's off of the "Quipa" single, and along with the Crecy remix, there's an Anthony Collins one worth checking out if you like what you hear. I recently started kicking my running schedule up to 3.5 miles per day, and I've been burning through tracks like these like matches. Also, take a listen to an older track of his called "Tempovision"- from the self titled remix album released at the beginning of the millennium.

I've also never really touched on any Lee Mortimer yet on redthreat. You may have seen him around the blogs going by Sawtooth Sucka as well, for those of you scratching your heads. I can't find a copy of "Grab Ya Funkstick" - which is on his myspace right now, a remix of Kelevra's that is featured on the "Bad Dog EP" that hasn't been released yet in the US. Keep waiting.. Here is a nice little mixtape to bang your head to while your'e doing so, featuring a few gems that I'll be sure to post up when I get my mits on 'em. Pay special attention to the Tong & Spoon (Lee Mortimer Remix)- if you can find that one, please send it on over!

I apologize if the blog seems to be a lot of flyers and advertisement of parties that aren't affiliated with the blog. The thing is, I'm not doing one until later in the spring so ya'll have to wait. The good thing out of it is that I'm out partyin' again and tomorrow/today South Rakkas will be @ Wrongbar, so I'll definitely be out in full force. Last time 'round, people kinda slept on it...ya'll need to keep the sleepin' in on the weekdays folks. Tomorrow/today is Friday. It's the weekend, biatch!!!

Here's a really big remix of South Rakkas tune "Get Mad Again" by Fake Blood out on Mad Decent. Real big remix.

Peep the Facebook e-vite for deets and I'll see ya there.

About time I included South Rakkas Crew in this mothafucka. From what I have been able to understand these guys have been putting out riddims for a minute. Been some time I've been hearing some songs with that damn computer "south rakkas crew" voice but it never crossed my mind to ask "who are these guys?". Well now they got my attention. These assholes are putting out electro dancehall. And the craziest thing is that, when I go back and listen to their older shit, I realise it's been electro danchall the whole time. Chinkuzi riddim! I've been blendin that shit with Italo disco! All this time I've just thought dancehall was just on some electro tip. Stupid me.

Couldn't find a damn link to this shit so go out and get it for yourself!

Yes, it’s been a while… again. Four posts in April is pretty lame, and I could bore you with shitty excuses, but instead I’ll get right to making up for it with this bunch of unreal tracks, some of my definite favourites right now.

Ratatat - Germany to Germany [MediaFire]

Notorious B.I.G. - Party & Bullshit (Ratatat Remix) [MediaFire]

An old classic and great remix from, in my opinion, the best American electronic act around right now. Saw them last weekend at the Tivoli, and although some could say their music is “chilled out”, they rocked the place to its foundations. Most punters left right after them, not bothering with Regurgitator, poor guys.

Van She - Strangers [MediaFire]

Saw these guys recently as well, around the start of March. This was one of the standout “new” tracks they played from their upcoming “V” LP which should be out in June/August. Having never heard it and not knowing its name, it still stuck with me after the show, a few parts of it are really memorable.

Spencer Parker - Open Your Eyes (Surkin Remix) [MediaFire]

If you want to know what all the fuss regarding Surkin is about, cop this track. It has all the classic elements of any tune by the young French producer, the chopped vocals, driving keyboard loops and general “rave” feel make it a dance floor killer.

Roisin Murphy - Overpowered (Kris Menace Remix) [MediaFire]

Slowing things right down, Kris Menace delivers another trademark French touch track, the lovely airy synths compliment Ms. Murphy’s beautiful voice tremendously. Shit, it’s like I’m writing an English essay on adjectives here. Nonetheless it’s a nice cool alternative to the hectic Herve remix, which frankly leaves me feeling rather trepidatious.

South Rakkas Crew - Mad Again (Boy 8-Bit Remix) [MediaFire]

Something about a Jamaican(ish) fellah spittin’ on a bmore/electro beat makes me want to move. Much better musical output from the island nation than say, The Baha Men, or even Supafly.

Danger - 11h30 (Kurtech Remix) [MediaFire]

Probably my favourite Danger track gets the rework from Aussie youngster Kurtech, give him some myspace love for this terrific edit.

Feadz - Hawaian Smut [MediaFire]

Another fun track from Feadz, with some awesome vocal loops. dododo do that stuff that ya mumma calls smut!

Mr. Flash - Over The Top [MediaFire]

Uffie - Robot Oeuf [MediaFire]

Two tracks off the third Ed Banger Records Compilation, due out May 26th. The Mr. Flash track is like any other of his great tunes, just maybe a bit more “beefed up” and faster. On Robot Oeuf, Uffie churns out an atypical rhyme about mothafucka’s, partying, and generally being a scrubber, but the beat is where the money is. Not sure who produced it but sounds to me like Oizo or Feadz, very nice stuff.

So there you are, hopefully it's not another fortnight til we next meet, I’d hate to have to do one of these huge fuckers again.

PS. If you’re from Brissy and looking for something to do on Saturday night, pop into the Valley Studios on Ann St (Next to Birdee Num Num’s). I’m support DJ for a night of local live music featuring a few stellar young Brisbane bands. And best of all, it’s BYO. Yep, for $12 entry you can bring in as much piss as you wish, even eski’s of it. Night kicks off at 7:30. More details on my myspace.

The Crew: Dow Jones, Alex G, Tha Phlash, Trix

South Rakkas Crew (SRC) was founded by producer Dennis 'Dow Jones' Shaw in late 2002. From then on they've increased in popularity for their music making as well as their music production. Their music combines the relaxed and chilled out vibe of reggae, amazing rapping/singing of hip hop and the great mixing by the DJ and the synth melodies. This crew is worth checking out for something different to listen to. Click on their myspace link and check out "Get Mad Again"!
