I hope this isn't a hint as to what the fall and winter is going to be like.
I really don't. I hate the idea that this fall and winter will be worse than last year.  I'm sorry, we don't need the power to go out at school like it did last year.  We don't need to be having multiple snow days and all that.  We just need to get to school, get the shit done, and be over with it.
We don't need the river to be all flooded, again.  We don't need part of the school flooding again, like last year.  We don't need the one town closed because the water's too high.

Sorry, I've been wanting to say that since yesterday.

I'm supposed to be working tomorrow.  With the weather the way it is, though, I don't know.  We shall see.  I don't really want to though, because I'm too lazy to even do some thankyou cards for my birthday stuff.  All I gotta do is write a little bit.  But they are kinda hidden from view, I forget about them, and on top of it, don't really want to do them.
I just don't feel like doing anything.
And since I don't have to, I won't.

I started to play the stage I'm on in Zelda: Four Swords this morning.
I had to move this movable house.  This house is halfway through the level/stage/whatever.  You can't move it up or it'll get stuck, then you're stuck - you have to move it and kill all these weird dwarf things that can be killed no other way to get this thing - and I moved it up on accident without even knowing.  So I was stuck.  So I said screw it - it took me like almost half an hour to get there, and I didn't really want to do it all again.
I'll try again later.
So after that I came up here to my room from the living room to play Sim City.  I didn't get much done, but my city is doing much better now.
Last night, I had to reconcile all the edges and stuff, because the way I had it made wasn't level with the neighboring places....Which I didn't really care about when I made it, but I do now because I want to connect them.....Well, anyway, half my shit ended up being killed by that.  So, you know, I pretty much went from about 2500 people to about 300.  It sucked.  But now I'm back up to about 2000, so that's good.  It's just hard to get enough taxes and shit in with so few people for all the money that it costs.  Which hopefully will get better once I get more people there.
I don't want to raise the taxes too much, because I don't want to tax the "heart and soul" out of them, as they say in "Robin Hood" (another disney movie, with foxes and stuff, it's good).  But, right now, the people are at about 9.5% taxation, for the middle people, and then the dirty industry is at about 10.5, because they have to be there, I can make money off of them, and I don't really want them to be there forever.  And then, like, the agricultural tax is low, as is the tax % for the lower-earning people.  The higher earning people are playing more taxes, but they're all within a few points of each other.
I don't really know why I'm telling you this.  I'm just sharing.
I like how everything is kind of going slow, though.  I mean, everything isn't all happening at once.
It suck though, because I have this huge mountain in my city, and then another part of it is water, so there's a lot of ground I can't use and stuff.  I'd like to have stuff on the top of the mountain, cuz there's almost a plateau up there, but I'm not sure if a road could get there.....I should look into that though.
I'm very impulsive in that game.  In every way, other than the taxes.
I'm so weird.

Once you have the wire assembly built move on to finding a power source you will need a transformer of some sort. For mine i used a transformer from an oil stove thats rated at 10,000 volts. You can also use a neon sign transformer which i have no experience with so i cant tell you how well it would work but i have seen pictures so i can assure you it will work. You can also use the transformer from a microwave oven, i have little experience with this also...i plugged it in loud buzzing scared me to death unplugged it as fast as possible. I think years of setting outside destroyed the microwave i got it out of but i also know they work and have an incredible amount power behind them.

Take the two wires coming out of the transformer on the oil burning stove transformer this would be the two springs and attach them two the wire assembly you made earlier double check to make sure everything is hooked up right and nothing is touching anything it shouldn't be (Double check this!!) And plug it in it should make a nice snap! zzzzzt snap zzzzt sound as the electricity jumps. If nothing happens the first time but you hear a crackling sound or no sound at all unplug it and move the wires closer together until when you plug it in it sparks. If the electricity sparks but doesn't move up then move the wires apart just a little bit. This is a good project for high voltage hobbyist or just someone who wants a really awesome Halloween prop or just wants to watch electricity in its finest.

Boston, Mass. – July 23, 2008) – EPA is working closely with the Town of Montville, Connecticut and the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (CTDEP) to oversee the removal of electrical transformers containing polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) from the Wisniewski Superfund Site on Route 163 in Montville. The trustees of the Site are undertaking the removal under EPA oversight and have agreed to remove all eight transformers and two associated capacitors from the property to a licensed off-site disposal facility.

EPA investigations of the property in November 2007 and January 2008 concluded that several of the transformers contained oil contaminated with PCBs. Testing of the soils in the vicinity of the transformers did not reveal any PCB contamination above CTDEP’s most stringent residential cleanup criteria. No leaking has been observed. Temporary spill containment will be constructed prior to the removal as a precautionary measure.

The cleanup is expected to begin within the next several weeks and be completed by the end of the summer. As part of the removal, some additional testing of the transformers will be performed, followed by the removal of the equipment to an EPA-approved treatment and disposal facility.

Safety measures, including temporary fencing to secure the work area, signage and traffic control, have been developed jointly with the Mayor’s Office, Uncas Health District, and Montville Fire and Police Departments. Such safety measures will be in effect throughout the cleanup, with the traffic control measures in place during the approximately 6-hour period of road closure along Route 163 while the transformers are loaded onto the transport vehicle. The road closure will be timed to avoid morning and evening commuter traffic.

Workers will be wearing personal protective gear while conducting the transformer removal. This gear will include safety harnesses for all work on the elevated transformer platform and impermeable white suits. This level of protection is mandated by federal laws.

I believe all around the world, and not just locally, it is easier to find more good-looking women than men.

Visitors to a country usually say "the women here are beautiful!"... and not "the men here are so good-looking"

My girlfriends and I have often bemoaned and laughed at the fact that there is a serious shortage of hot guys in Singapore Maybe we just haven't been looking hard enough? Or...

... maybe because we're too busy ogling our fellow female species? I admit, my wandering eye tends to follow fine women a lot more than I do for men. I appreciate and admire their beauty much much more!

Well-known evolutionary psychologist Satoshi Kanazawa said:

"Because physical attractiveness is heritable -- and because physically attractive parents have more daughters and less-attractive parents have more sons -- the average level of physical attractiveness among women increases over time relative to men. In my study, I demonstrate that more men than women are average-looking, while more women than men are either attractive or very attractive"

Some reasons I can think of?

1) The female form is a great deal more aesthetically pleasing than that of a male. Those shapes, those curves, those legs.. :) Thus it's already half the battle won in terms of perception.

2) From an evolutionary point of view, girls have to look good to attract a mate. Luscious hair, good skin etc, subtly demonstrates healthiness and "good genes".

On the other hand men would usually focus on their career, money, and power to get a lady. Or ladies.If these sort ever settle down!

3) Hence it leads us to the point that women are a whole lot more willing to work at improving their looks than men. Women were indoctrined since a young tender age about the the importance of beauty... for example, in fairy tales the kind princess who lived happily ever after was always "the fairest in the land" and the evil nemesis was usually an ugly lady, warts and all.

Therefore, women are usually inherently quite vain, and always trying to make themselves more beautiful.

Popular modern day procedures like peels, IPL, facial spas... such aesthetic practices are now hugely in demand.

4) It's easy to look hot with the right clothes, and ladies fashion is just sooooooooo much more varied than men's, every guy I know has agreed with me on this. Put a normal girl into a smashing sexy cool outfit, and heads would probably start turning already.

That said, many Singaporans guys are rather clueless , or bo-chap about their dressing. It can be hard to detect hot guys if they are dressed slopily or unattractively.

5) Girls have a whole array of tools to help us look better and hotter. Makeup, hair extensions, manicures and pedicures etc.

As a chinese saying goes "There are no ugly women, only lazy women"

Truly horrifying, but amazing nonetheless yes? Never underestimate the powers of makeup. Thus, there is a high chance that many of the hot Singaporean girls we see are "transformers"

Men unfortunately though, can't, and won't use makeup to transform themselves to hotness.

The guys only have to rely on good hair cuts and good styling, working out at the gym for a buff body, basic grooming, smelling nice and some stylish clothes.

To end off, Singapore certainly has plenty of hot babes, I concur.....especially in our hot weather they end up not wearing very much,which ups their oomph factor.

We do have a handful of really hot men as well.... I know several.  Although sadly.... many of them are either foreign models or gay! :X

Howver that is merely focusing on the superficial. In my personal opinion, the hotness and desirability ranking of a man is not only based on looks. Intelligence, wit, class, and manners play far more important roles in determining whether I go weak in the knees for a guy :)

When we were writing the script, I said to the writers, "I hate sequels that try to make it to the third movie. Pretend like we�re never having a third movie, so let's go for broke on the second one. I hate those cliffhangers! Let's just make this movie stand on its own." I really feel this movie is not a forced sequel. I think the script is really good, and I think it's got a lot of new stuff in it. There are a lot of rumors out there, but we've released a lot of fake stuff. We�ve done a really good job of keeping things secret.

Looks like hes taken marketing cues from Apple. I wonder how much news I've read is actually fake.

All I ever see in the city is Matt Dillon and Jimmy Fallon. I'm surprised he hasn't dropped dead yet from all that working out.

• Earlimart - Hymn and Her I just got this on the morning of this awful Sunday, but it just may redeem it. Haven't even listened to it thought it completely. I'm on "Before It Gets Better" and I think I've found July 13th's soundtrack. Poppy, but soft with a melancholy touch. But it might be forgettable. Still, canon-bound.
• Lou Reed - Transformer Lou is one of the few gaps in my collection I'm endeavoring to fill. And I think I did pretty well by starting here. Not all the tunes have aged. "New York Telephone Conversation" is like some kind of joke that may have been kind of funny 30 years ago. I don't recall Lou being know for his wit, anyways. Nonetheless, "Vicious" and "Perfect Day" are awesome. And they all hang together nicely.  Who knew? The MST3K spaceship is named after track #7. Very near canonical.
• Au - Verbs Weird. Chanting, unexpected changes. Fractured song structures, if there are any. Nice choice for your neighborhood opium den.
• Boris - Smile There's a time and a place for progressive Japanese metal. Unfortunately, they are not now and here. However, I do recall being at work at 8:15am and having "KA RE HA TE TA SA KI-No One Grieve" move me to pump my fist with gritted teeth.
• Santogold - Santogold I'm not too well plugged into the popular music scene, but I think she's becoming pretty mainstream. Believe it or not highschool friends, I can enjoy mainstream things. (Dreamgirls is my favorite movie...U2 and Coldplay are pretty awesome...and can't get enough of "Friends"...Oh, sorry. I'm lying.) I also hear a lot of MIA references. I hear MIA, but more I hear Cyndi Lauper. But a lot cooler. "Lights Out" is a summer fav.
• My Morning Jacket - Evil Urges Everybody needs to calm down. I refuse to ride the bus that has thrown MMJ under it. I may be the only unfilthy not-high person who actually likes "Highly Suspicious". It's not that bad. Admittedly some misfires. Not too sure I'm ready to revisit UB40 and the Fine Young Cannibals. But like Rilo Kiley's equally disparaged Under the Black Light, there are some standouts. Try denying "I'm amazed". This is a great band trying something different.

Ack. Now my laptop is crapping out and I have 47 albums to go. Great. Another crappy chapter in this crappy day has begun. Screw it. I'm going for a run. And I will get hit by a bus. Probably the same one filled with all the MMJ haters distracted by making fun of "Librarian" (which is pretty ridiculous, but an easy target). C'mon haters, watch where you're going.

Perhaps, we may be able to determine what makes a great album cover great, or perhaps I will totally waste your time. The latter certainly seem to be more likely . . .

10. Transformer, Lou Reed
A very iconic image. Reed in full glam regalia, guitar in hand and in stark black and white. What's great about it is that it makes a bold visual statement and communicates the notion to the buyer that Reed's music is going to have a sense of theatricality to it. Plus, it's just a damn striking picture.

9. "Heroes", David Bowie
Bowie was always avant garde but the "Heroes" cover is just something else. In grainy black and white, Bowie strikes a completely bizarre pose. I still have no idea exactly what he's supposed to be doing but it freaks me out. So y'know, job well done. (The cover for his next album, Lodger, almost made it on this list instead. It shows Bowie lying on the floor with a broken nose. It's so totally uncharacteristic for the fashionable Mr. Bowie that you have to love it.)

8. Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, Arctic Monkeys
I'm actually not a huge fan of the band, but I'll be damned if that's not a great album cover. The guy is apparently a friend of the band's, I'm assuming after a long night of doing things primarily involving drugs, booze and exposed breasts.

7. Wish You Were Here, Pink Floyd
The cover of Wish You Were Here is a perfectly surreal accompaniment to Pink Floyd's brand of dreamy, epic rock. Gotta love the way the edge of the picture is burning into the white. Fun Fact: the guy on the cover is actually on fire. Ah, the dangerous days before they invented Photoshop . . .

6. Teenager of the Year, Frank Black
I think the cover speaks for itself.

5. Sticky Fingers, The Rolling Stones
Another very effective shocker and an image that sums up what rock and roll is really all about. The original vinyl featured a real zipper that actually unzips, which is totally awesome, even though it apparently dented the record and ruined it. Fun Fact 2: They wouldn't let them sell the album with that cover in Spain, so they replaced with an image of a woman's severed fingers in a can of beans, which is obviously far more tasteful.

4. London Calling, The Clash
This is punk. Based off of the cover of an Elvis album, The Clash replaces The King with Paul Simonon smashing his bass on stage. The "fuck you" message is just so potent and so perfect. Just a defining image, for The Clash and for punk music.

3. Things Fall Apart, The Roots
There are five different covers for Things Fall Apart, all of which are designed to make white listeners feel guilty. The photos used are from the Civil Rights struggle of the 60s and show the Roots' connection to politics and history, giving you a clear idea of what kind of rap album this is. The only album covers I can think of that create such an impression and force us to question ourselves and society.

2. The Velvet Underground and Nico, The Velvet Underground
A very famous cover for The Velvet Underground's first album, by Andy Warhol, who was their manager at the time. It's just a great piece of pop art and The VU should've counted themselves lucky to have such an artistic genius provide them with a cover. The banana is in fact a sticker that can be peeled off to reveal the pink banana underneath. (You can't see it but it says "Peel here and see" at the top.) Unpeeled copies of this album are big collector's items.

1. Abbey Road, The Beatles
Simple and sweet. This is my idea of album cover perfection. People love Sgt. Pepper's and it's certainly a classic but you just can't beat Abbey Road. The cover was apparently shot quite spontaneously. It's been parodied a thousand times and it's also been the source of many "Paul is dead" rumors, mainly claiming significance in the fact that he isn't wearing shoes, and that Lennon was dressed in all white, representing the undertaker or death or heaven or something. (Lennon was just really into minimalist design at the time.) It's inspired every idiot who visits Abbey Road to stroll across that zebra crosswalk and yes, I'd totally do it if I went there too. My favorite album and my favorite album cover.
