Day 5, Saturday 22nd April
Stratford Basin shows Lock number 56 on the gate.
It’s a wide lock to suit the various commercial widebeams, but the gates backing onto the river where we were tend not to close, so it is not uncommon to rope in the assistance of passersby to lean against them whilst you go up to the other end to raise the paddles to lock up. 818 mots de plus
Day 4: April 21st.
We have always loved Luddington, even though it is one of the deepest locks on the river.
It is so peaceful here, and we slept like logs, probably because we had pushed on to do 6 locks the previous day and only had 2 more to go to Stratford Upon Avon. 336 mots de plus

It had rained during the night, and was still drizzling so we had a wet start.
We left early at 7.32 as we had six locks today, Harvington being the first which was only half a mile away and the gates so heavy it took the two of us to shift them. 385 mots de plus
